The Prophetic Road to Revelation (Part III)

Updated: 01 December 2013

International Politics and Foreshadows of the Beast
In the aftermath of the Yom Kippur War, a war which as mentioned in the previous section came perilously close to a nuclear confrontation between the United States and the Soviet Union, the impetus was to step back from the brink of what could have been an apocalyptic scenario. It is here then that the initial necessary movement toward a “peace” process began. It was, at first, an earnest process for the sake of preventing a super power confrontation and nuclear holocaust. Somewhere along the Prophetic Road to Revelation now orbiting the “fig tree,” the “peace” process was usurped, gutted so as to rapidly become categorically corrupt and filled with a new global agenda not dedicated to peace, but to Israel’s destruction through diplomatic means. Arab oil, greed and massive profiteering were the special high-grade lubricant slathered all over Israel’s western allies which brought this abomination about and sustains it to this day. Do not doubt for a microsecond that YHWH God will remedy this worldly status-quo in due course at the time of His choosing.

YHWH Is The True Power
Also in the aftermath of the Yom Kippur War it was once again blatantly obvious that the Arab enemy nations committed massive numbers of ground forces, war materiel and their treasury to full-scale warfare with the military objective to wipe Israel off the map, and they did so without the absolute military imperative of a permanent, centralized and unified command and control (C2) structure. Indeed YHWH God does work in mysterious ways, for there can be no argument, no question whatsoever, that subsequent to the defeats of 1949 and 1967 the critical necessity of robust and redundant C2 was not unknown to the Arab nations and their Soviet benefactors. It is a virtual impossibility, yet this is exactly what occurred.

I will note at this point that since Israel’s restoration, which is unquestionably the will of YHWH God pursuant to His plans, appointments, and all things related to His coming Kingdom, that he has blessed the Israeli’s when warfare, a unique human condition, is the order of the day. In every war up to this point when Israel has been moving forward it has succeeded militarily. And when Israel retreats, cedes back to the Arab’s land God bequeathed to their forefathers, Israel suffers and is rebuked. This has become increasingly apparent through the never-ending and thoroughly corrupted mediation process conducted by the United States and European governments. Time after time after time Israel is required to unilaterally give up various things of value to Israel, and in return the Arabs are emboldened and conduct continued, incessant warfare through insurrection, mass casualty terrorist attacks and low-level warfare. The fictional character Forest Gump may have been lacking in understanding the world around him, but even he may have had enough innate common sense to see the utter insanity of the things Israel is having required of it, and that its political leadership too quickly acquiesces to. Ariel Sharon’s pitiful condition is no accident.

Back to the Future: Israel Has Been Here Before
I was cogitating on these things and in quiet conversation with the Father when a thought popped into my head. He gave this land to Israel, it is a Divine inheritance. Period. And the question which then came to me was: In ancient times when Israel first entered into the Promised Land, was there a reason that requirements were made and transmitted to the Hebrews to drive those peoples out of the land before them in order for all Israel to possess it?

What is different in these last days with Israel having been returned to the Promised Land in fulfillment of Divine prophecy? Surely the Lord knew even before the creation of all things that Israel’s return to the land would be resisted as it was after the Exodus, that warfare was the only vehicle available to the Jews short of Yahweh’s intervention to clear the land for their habitation. No, I think what we have here is a near repeat, the template for which occurred circa 1275 and 1025 BC during the conquest. An entire generation passed between the actual departure from Egypt and the conquest. 40 years in the wilderness. So too has the initial generation which returned to the land of Israel since passed. David Ben Gurion, Golda Meir, Levi Eshkol, Menachem Begin, Moshe Dayan. The new generation has been running the show – and since Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanon what has become of all of the hard-fought victories to reclaim and secure Israel? The generation of which Jesus spoke regarding the last days - and make no mistake about this - Jesus was speaking specifically and directly to Jews during His Olivet Discourse, is now alive and living in the land. Let me say that again. The generation of which Jesus spoke regarding the last days is alive in the land. Ezekiel’s dry bones have sinews, muscles and flesh upon them. The fig tree twigs are tender, buds have become leaves. It is only a matter of time before the fruit of the summer appears.

The Psalm 83 Endgame
Israel is once again threatened with war from all sides. Since the unilateral and forced Gaza withdrawal Israel has fought two brief wars in Lebanon and in Gaza. Neither was conclusive, neither achieved a substantial or sustainable military objective, and both will lead directly to the next phase of the Psalm 83 war, the Endgame for the “inner circle” of Israel enemies.

Do not the prophets speak of the ancient enemies and we see these same enemies in this era? As referenced earlier, Bill Salus’ book Isralestine is your crucial, must have reference material.

Some recent events that I believe serve as critical intelligence indications and warnings (I&W) of the final phase of the Psalm 83 war must lead off with the recognition of the central role Damascus held as the preeminent enemy capital, and that Syria the country has held as perpetually at war with Israel for every one of the past 65 years. Should there be any question then as to why Isaiah 17 has foretold the coming total destruction of Damascus, Syria?

Damascus has been the well-acknowledged base-of-operations for many Islamic terrorist groups, a dark status eclipsing even that Baghdad under the brutally inhumane dictatorship of Saddam Hussein. It was outside the headquarters of Syrian intelligence in Damascus on 12 February 2008 that the notorious international terrorist Imad Fayez Mughniyeh was assassinated by bomb placed under the seat of his Mitsubishi Pajero SUV. Both Syria and Hezbollah have sworn to avenge the killing of Mughniyeh. Naturally, they accuse Israel of the act.

On 6 September 2007 Israel special operations forces and Israeli Air Force strike aircraft struck a clandestine nuclear reactor deep inside northern Syria, in a location called Al Kabir. The reactor was a North Korean design intended to produce weapons grade plutonium. The entire project was funded by the Islamic Republic of Iran. The project only came to the attention of US and Israeli intelligence agencies with the defection to the West of a retired Iranian Revolutionary Guards general and ex-Deputy Defense Minister, Ali Reza Asghari. Syria no doubt will retaliate at some point.

There are also external influences within Syria besides a multitude of terrorists, Iran and North Korea. One of those influences, I am sorry to report, is the new administration of Barack Hussein Obama. There have been very strong indications that despite public announcements of support for Israel the American government has contingency plans which will result in nothing less than America’s abandonment of Israel to the fate the Arabs believe they are obliged to “Allah” to inflict. The American plan apparently hinges on what one former highly placed intelligence official described as “malicious intelligence” which will be used at some point to the detriment of the Jewish state. And it is in this light that I would ask you to recall Joseph Biden's "mark my words" comments about a manufactured crisis; how Obama's actions in that crisis would not be seen by American citizens as the correct course of action.

The most stunning reports to date are strongly indicating that the American abandonment of Israel plan is a work-in-progress is the Obama Administration’s dispatch of two special envoys to the acknowledged terrorist capital of Damascus, Syria. Earlier this month Jeffrey Feltman, representing Hillary Clinton’s State Department as the United States Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, and Daniel Shapiro, a Middle East expert from the United States National Security Council (NSC) for a meeting with Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Mu’allem and his deputy and Dr. Bouthaina Shaaban, who is a Syrian cabinet minister and an adviser to President Bashar Assad.

Bashar Assad has since been quoted in British media regarding the new American policy, saying, “We have the impression that this administration will be different, and we have seen the signals. But we have to wait for the reality and the results.” Once they Arabs see the reality and results of the new American policy towards Israel they will take full advantage of it.

The unforeseen, agenda-driven events that have occurred between 18 December 2010 and start of the year 2013 all across the Arab world, the so-called, strong diplomatically and militarily Western-supported "Arab Spring" series of fundamentalist Sunni revolutions from Tunis to Libya and Yemen have yet to fully run their course. A critically important and potentially catastrophic fundamentalist Sunni revolution against the Alawite regime of Bashar Assad remains unresolved in pre-Isaiah 17 Syria, a nation which now teeters precariously on the precipice of full-scale chemical warfare. In Egypt a counter-revolution led by a Coptic Christian-Secular Egyptian alliance continues to resist the wildly foregone conclusion of a fundamentalist Sunni victory against the former Mubarak regime. This Egyptian counter-revolution currently appears to be stage-setting preparation for the fulfillment of Isaiah 19. All of these unresolved conflicts in the Muslim world continue to swirl around the State of Israel. Once again, as occurred in Lebanon in the 2006 war between Shi'ite Hezbollah and Israel, acute Western pressure halted yet another ground war from being launched against the Sunni fundamentalist enclave in HAMAS-controlled Gaza. Irregardless of how these events resolve the prophetic conditions within the prophecies from Asaph, Isaiah Ezekiel and a few others will resolve exactly as they have been foretold.

An Israel separated from America has been the dream of Arab leaders for decades. And despite Assad’s low-key media statement, his immediate actions speak orders of magnitude louder than his words. Within two days of the Feltman/Shapiro meeting in Damascus, Bashar Assad embarked on a whirlwind tour of the primary Pslam 83 capital cities and face-to-face meetings with King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia in Riyadh, President Hosni Mubarak in Cairo, Egypt, and then with King Abdullah in Amman, Jordan.

Concurrent with this trip the message being delivered to Israel was the exact opposite to that given the Syrians. According to renowned national security and intelligence writer Bill Gertz, while Assad's high-level tour of Psalm 83 capital cities was occurring the Chief of Staff for the Israeli Defense Forces, Lieutenant General Gabi Ashkenazi traveled to Washington, D.C. and was rudely refused meetings with PresidentBarack Obama, Vice President Joseph Biden, the U.S. Director of National Intelligence, the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, and Ashkenazi’s counterpart the Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff. Why did Ashkenazi travel to the U.S.? To present highly classified intelligence information. Our government refused to receive the Israel commander and refused to so much as look at the Israeli government intelligence data. There is where the rubber meets the road between Bible prophecy and real-world events as discussed in this article.

The enemies of Israel in the territories of Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Egypt as well as the "Palestinians" in the West Bank and in Gaza will soon make their move against Israel, and when they do engage Israel again the prophet Asaph's foretelling of their ultimate defeat 3,000 years ago will create new headlines around the world that will make those of 1949, 1967 and 1973 pale in comparison. Consider the details given us by Asaph in Psalm 83, verses 9 through 11:

“Do to them as you did to Midian, as you did to Sisera and Jabin at the river Kishon, who perished at Endor and became like refuse on the ground. Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna.”

What happened to Midian, Sisera and Kishon? For this we look to Joshua 13:21-22 to learn that they were utterly routed from the field of battle, their cities completely consumed by fire, their kings killed and the nation destroyed. Jabin was a Canaanite King of Hazor and his total defeat that the hands of the Israelites at the Plain of Esdraelon was the last time the Israelites had to fight the Canaanites. Oreb and Zeeb were defeated and then slain by Gideon. This is what will happen to the combined armies and nations of the “inner circle” Arab nations and will conclude and fulfill the prophecy of Psalm 83. All of the identified Arab armies will be completely routed, their cities will be consumed by fire, and their leaders killed. So total will the Israeli victory be that these nations will never again fight against Israel. So decimated and totally consumed will these Arab nations be by Israel that they will seek YHWH or simply perish into oblivion.

Another result of the War of Psalm 83 will be to precipitate the subsequent the War of Gog/Magog so chillingly detailed in Ezekiel 38/39, and the destruction of Russia, Iran, Turkey, Libya, Sudan and a host of smaller Caucasian and Central Asian nations who will be drawn to their fates along with Gog. All of these events will occur prior to the beginning of Daniel’s 70th Week, the Tribulation. These wars will result in Israel living in safety, and enabling the building of the 3rd Temple on Mt. Moriah in Jerusalem. They will also create the conditions into which the Antichrist will rise rapidly to a globally dominant position of absolute power, the abomination of desolation in the Temple and finally the return of Jesus Christ to establish His Kingdom as the King of kings and Lords of lords. Our journey down the prophetic road to Revelation is now complete, we have entered that period of time prophesied by the angel Gabriel to the prophet Daniel known as the 70th Week of years.

The Prophetic Road to Revelation (Part II)

Updated: 1 December 2013

The Arab-Israeli War In Part II we will look at the history of the Arab-Israeli military conflict from 1947 to the Yom Kippur War of 1973. War in the British Mandate of Palestine Most historical references to the war that commenced on 30 Nov 1947 between the Jews and Arabs in British Mandatory Palestine identify it as a “civil war.” In my view this is an incorrect naming convention. Civil wars occur between members of the same society and ethnic community such as has occurred in the American, French, Russian, and Spanish civil wars. The war of the Jews and Arabs is between two groups of distinct ethnic, societal and religious origins and whose long history has been, and quite literally will be, of Biblical proportions. These key items set this war distinctly apart from most other intra-national conflicts in history. This first phase of the current Arab-Israel war was essentially a series of combat operations which effectively delineated Jewish and Arab controlled areas within British Mandatory Palestine prior to the termination of the Mandate on May 14 1948. In most areas the offensive operations of the Jewish forces closely matched the artificial lines drawn up by the United Nations partition plan. These artificial boundaries followed the precedent sent by the European re-drawing of the borders on former Ottoman territory between Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. “Palestine” has been proven to be no exception. For all intents and purposes, the six month duration of this war constituted only the initial phase of the ongoing Arab-Israeli War.

The Arab-Israeli War is the Psalm 83 War. The initial 1947-49 phase of this war was the bedrock basis of all future Arab-Israel wars through to the present. It is a war which will not be decisively concluded until the final phase as described by the prophet Asaph is fulfilled in the near future.

Primary Arab Forces 30 Nov 1947 to 14 May 1948: Army of the Jihad (Jaysh al-Jihad al-Muqaddas): This is the private militia of Abd al-Qadr al-Husayni family, and was the size of about normal battalion of 1,000 irregular Transjordanian militiamen. It was established by the Arab High Committee (AHC). Arab Liberation Army (ALA) (Jaysh al-Inqadh al-Arabi): Was established on 5 February 1948 and was largely a Syrian creation. The ALA originally consisted of approximately 6,100 irregular volunteer troops recruited from Arab League nations via the Arab League Military Committee. Most secular histories state that the purpose behind the establishment of the ALA was as a counter-weight to the AHC’s Army of the Jihad. This is pretty much an irrelevancy due to the fact that the military objectives of both Arab armies were to seize territory and preempt the establishment of the State of Israel prior to the termination of the British Mandate. The creation of this army was the direct result of the neighboring Arab governments consulting with each other and their plotting to ensure that no part of Palestine would become an independent Jewish state. Jamil Mardam Bey, the Syrian Prime Minister in November 1947, wrote of this plotting among the Arab leaders: “So long as the position of the Kings and Amirs is one of caution and plots, this is the only sound policy.” What plotting was Bey referring to? He was referring to the clearly stated political objective of the Arab League Secretary Azzam Pasha as given in Damascus on 11 October 1947 for the imminent war against the emergent State of Israel.  The stated political objective was for "a war of extermination and a momentous massacre which will be spoken of like the Mongolian massacres and the Crusades."

How do these Arab Muslim statements square up with the opening verses of Psalm 83:1-4

”Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God. For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head. They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones. They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.”

Obviously, the ultimate policy objective of the Arabs nations has not changed one iota since the day they decided to enter into crafty counsel and consultations among one another. Nationalities represented in this army were Syrians, Lebanese (including Lebanese Druze and Circassians) Iraqis, Transjordanian Arabs (includes “Palestinian” Arabs), Egyptians and several hundred Bosnian Muslims, Germans, Turks and British army deserters who were recruited to fight on the Arab side. The organizational command center for this army was located in Damascus, Syria and major organizational offices were located within the Syrian Ministry of Defense. The Commander-In-Chief of the army was Iraqi General Ismail Safwat and his staff was composed of Iraqi, Syrian, Transjordanian and Lebanese military officers. Finance of this army was borne by Egypt (42%), Syria and Lebanon (23%), Saudi Arabia (20%), and Iraq (15%). This army’s field commander was Fawzi al-Din al-Qawuqji, a former Captain in the army of the Ottoman Empire during WWI, later in the Iraqi Army in the 1930s and then an officer in the Nazi Germany’s Wehrmacht during WWII. There was virtually no planning or combat operations coordination between the Arab Liberation Army and the Army of the Jihad. Their total number is reported to have been about 50,000 irregulars throughout this period of warfare.

Primary Jewish Forces: Haganah (The Defense): was founded in 1920. This Jewish irregular paramilitary militia was a successor to the Jewish defense forces known as the Bar-Giora, founded in 1907 (named after the Idumean Simon Bar Giora, ruler of Jerusalem and General of the Jewish revolt against the Romans in 69-70 AD), and the Hashomer founded in 1909 (The Guild of Watchmen). Haganah was succeeded on May 28, 1948 by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) when the provisional government of the nascent Israeli state created the new national army, navy and air force. Its strength on 14 May 1948 was 35,000 troops. Pamlach (Strike Force): Was founded on 15 May 1941. The Pamlach was essentially three brigades (approximately 15,000 troops) of Jewish regular infantry soldiers of the Haganah, with components of Naval (Palyam), Air Force (Palavir), and Special Operations Commandos (Ha-Machlaka Ha-Germanit and Ha-Machlaka Ha-Aravit). Intense offensive operations by the Jewish forces in the approximately six weeks from the beginning of April to 14 May 1948 crushed the opposing Arab Liberation Army and al-Muqaddas militia into military insignificance. By October 1948 the ALA had ceased to exist as a coherent fighting force, but remnants remain which continue operations after 14 May. The totality of this defeat became the vacuum, the impetus, for the next phase of the war which involved the regular military forces of all neighboring Arab states as well as some others within the region.

1948: Israel’s War of Independence On 14 May 1948 Israel declared itself into existence gaining almost immediate international recognition. The Israel leadership made their declaration knowing full well that the surrounding Arab nations had mobilized their armies for a full-scale invasion, the military objective of which was to crush the nascent Jewish state and replace it with something the Arab League declared to the U.N. would be a “United State of Palestine.” Tens of thousands of troops of the armed forces from Syria, Lebanon, Transjordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Iraq immediately invaded Israel. Once again the core of the Psalm 83 nations are present and at war with Israel. Initially outnumbered the Israeli forces primary mission objective was to hold off the invading Arab armies until they could field a fighting force capable of driving the invaders out. This increase in Israel forces occurred rapidly and their approximately 30,000-strong military had mobilized and doubled in size by July, and had more than tripled by early 1949 and was ultimately twice the size of the Arab armies committed to the war. Complete and total victory by Israeli forces and the securing of Israeli borders was achieved by July 1949.

Subsequent to the war of 1947-1949 a series of short-duration wars have occurred, and include:

  • A 100-hour war of 1956 which primarily was a demonstration of modern armored maneuver warfare tactics in the Sinai.
  • The Six Day War of 1967 which began with a dogfight over Syria and quickly escalated to full-scale warfare for which Israel was completely mobilized to wage and resulted in another massive defeat over the same combined “inner circle” Arab enemy nations. Recent information indicates the former-Soviet Union had been deliberately feeding false military intelligence information to its Arab allies in Syria and Egypt. This bogus intelligence likely precipitated this war and only exacerbated the defeat the Arabs suffered. There’s a lesson here for the enemies of Israel to learn, yet consistent with Solomon’s wisdom it will ultimately be forgotten or ignored.
  • The Yom Kippur War which began on October 6, 1973, the holiest day in the Jewish year, caught the IDF quite unprepared. Egypt had been threatening war since 1971, but those threats never materialized. Over those years the Arab threats of renewed war just 6 years after their defeat in the Six Day War were not taken seriously. Egypt and Syria suddenly attacked with overwhelming military force. In the Sinai 80,000 Egyptian soldiers attacked less than 500 Israeli soldiers across a broad front. On the Golan 1,400 Syrian tanks crashed into less than 200 Israeli tanks and Israel immediately began to yeild territory to the Egyptian and Syrian invaders. Supporting the Arab effort was a substantial force from Iraq's military: a full-strength infantry division of 18,000 soldiers, hundreds of tanks and MiG fighter-bombers. Saudi' Arabia, Kuwait, Libya, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco and Sudan also sent troops, armor, fighter aircraft in support of Egypt and otherwise underwrote or financed the Arab war effort. Lebanon and Palestinians attacked Israel from Lebanese territory, and the Jordanians supported Syrian operations in the north. For a time it looked as if World War III had begun. The United States was sending in supplies by air and by sea as fast as the IDF could put them into combat; the Soviet Union was doing the same for the Arabs. Thermonuclear war seemed a very real possibility if not the possibility of direct intervention by both Russian and American troops in the war. In sum, against a massive Arab military force which was as large as all of NATO forces in Europe at the time Israel was miraculously able to recover from the initial onslaught, quick halt and then completely reverse the Arab advances, and then go fully into an offensive which took the IDF deep into both Egyptian and Syrian territory, and entire Egyptian army was surrounded and nearly annihilated by the Israeli's. The IDF soldiers certainly bore the brunt of combat operations against incredible odds, but there is no question that YHWH God was the source and the true power behind Israeli amazing victory. As with the result of the Six Day War the same lesson was taught once again.  Coming in Part III: The Modern Era and the near-term future conclusion.

The Prophetic Road to Revelation (Part 1)

Updated: 01 December 2013

"Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door. I tell you the truth; this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.” Matt. 24:32-34 (NIV)

27 March 2009: The planet earth and all of the approximately 6 billion souls currently living upon it are travelling around the sun at 66,600 miles per hour. Indeed, ever since “yom echad” (day one), orbit by orbit around the sun, the earth has been inexorably moving forward in time. Eons of human history have come and gone. There is no going back. There is only the forward momentum to the future.

The Lord tells us that history does indeed repeat itself. He inspired King Solomon to write for all posterity that “What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.” (Ecclesiastes 1:9). What Solomon says here is that as a mortal man he recognizes that throughout history mankind has never learned from its mistakes; that history will repeat itself because from one generation to the next, that whatever lessons were learned are quickly forgotten, that subsequent generations will repeat the actions and the errors of their forebears. Such is the nature of man. No wonder many pundits today are remarking how similar the current world situation in 2009 is to what occurred just 70 years ago in 1939.

The Fig Tree

Nearly 2,000 years ago, as seen in the opening quote above, Jesus foretold of a time when Israel would once again live, figuratively describing it as the fig tree. He directed us to “now learn now the lesson” inherent in its rebirth. In the aftermath of the events which occurred in the world war begun in 1939, including yet another in a thousands of years long series of attempts to exterminate the Jews, the fig tree once again was planted back in the land given in Divine Covenant to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (Israel).

On May 14, 1948 Israel was re-born, against all odds, and speaking the tongue of the ancient Hebrews. This rebirth occurred because it was ordained by God to occur at an appointed time. In continuing fulfillment of the above prophecy by the twigs are tender and the leaves have emerged – summer is near, indeed at the door. All of the additionally given prophetic signs are tangible indicators that the unique generation of which Jesus spoke are alive today.

The sixty-first anniversary of May 14, 1948 will occur eight weeks from now. More important than the number of years which have passed since Israel’s re-birth is the reality that both current and future world events are now themselves in orbit around the “fig tree,” that is, around the “Epicenter” as it is referred to by author Joel Rosenberg, exactly as the ancient Hebrew prophets foretold regarding Israel and Jerusalem, the “burdensome stone.”

What this signifies is that we are well travelled down the road to that era known in the Bible as the “Last Days” prior to the physical return of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the establishment of the Kingdom of God upon this earth. Indeed we have travelled quite some distance down the prophetic road toward the events described by the Father, to the Son to John of Patmos and known to us as The Revelation of Jesus Christ. The final 7 years of this age are detailed in terms of days in the Book of Daniel, and which he prophesied as the final 70th Week (of Years) until fulfillment of the larger prophecy concerning Israel and the end of the Tribulation.

Signs of the End of the Age

The second of the signs Jesus gave signaling the end of this age of mankind was of wars and rumors of wars. There are two, possibly three wars of immense, unfulfilled prophetic significance with respect to Israel, which sound exegesis indicates must occur prior to the onset of Daniel’s 70th week. These wars are large-scale military actions as described in Isaiah 17, Psalm 83 and Ezekiel 38-39. Isaiah 17 and Psalm 83 may actually come to fulfillment concurrently or in sequence to one another. We will only know for sure when these events actually transpire, yet sound exegesis cannot mutually exclude either prophecy from the other as they are certainly inter-related events. It is my exegetical position, in concurrence with eschatological experts, that the massive military assault described in Ezekiel is a subsequent event to those described by Isaiah and the Psalmist Asaph. I believe there are significant real-world events occurring at present which serve as strong indications that the military actions described by Asaph and Isaiah will come to complete fulfillment in the near-term.

It is my belief that the finest and most comprehensive exegetical work to date on these coming wars, and in particular the Psalm 83 war, is the book “ISRALESTINE: The Ancient Blueprints of the Future Middle East” by my friend and brother in Christ, Bill Salus. Since Bill has already completed all of the heavy exegetical lifting with his book, I would suggest that all readers of this article read Isralestine for the Spirit-led specifics and details contained within his book.

One of the items that has come to my attention in recent times is that Arabs and Muslims all over the world, but particularly in the Middle East, are literally being set-up by their religious leaders for what can most adequately be described as a cataclysmic, religion-shattering defeat at the hands of the Israeli Defense Forces, supported once again by YHWH, the God of their fathers, the One true God of Israel.

Seeing how the Arabs today consider the results of the war with Israel between 1947 and 1949 to have been a “nabka” (catastrophe) and since supplemented by crushing Israeli military victories in 1967 and 1973, the defeat that is coming is almost indescribable. Let the reader consider the Islamic religious rhetoric which passed though the lips of Sunni Islamic scholar Sheikh Yousef al-Qaradhawi during a fiery sermon broadcast by Qatari state television on 20 February 2009. Sheikh al-Qaradhawi boldly announced to the entire Islamic world, “The Prophet Muhammad wanted peace that is based on strength. He does not want the peace of the weak, the peace of those who disappoint, the peace of those who surrender – like the peace Israel wants to impose on us and the Palestinians. That is not peace. That is what Allah meant when he said: 'And do not falter and cry for peace when you have the upper hand, for Allah is with you, and will not refrain from [rewarding] you for your actions.”

In the aftermath of the absolute defeat of the combined modern-day, mechanized land armies, air forces, missile forces with their WMD arsenals of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons, as well as a global array of terrorist proxy forces, what does one imagine will be the result among the Muslim faithful to the victory Israel’s YHWH will impose upon “Allah” and those in submission to this false god? Might that not be a faith shattering series of events not unlike what occurred to the worshipers of Ba'al in ancient times? As went Ba'al, so too will go "Allah."

Prophetic Dominoes

07 March 2009:  Hmmm... I wonder... what if...

What if the IDF were to launch this "rumor of war" preemptive attack against the whole array of the Ayatollah's nuclear infrastructure.

There is no question in my mind that such a preemptive strike would do tremendous damage. However, that is not the issue, nor would it be the ultimate result. The strike would precipitate something much greater, and I'm talking about what might well be best described as -- I'm going to coin a new phrase here -- "prophetic dominoes"

The real resultant issue would be the retaliatory response, and I'm thinking that response would come from Iran's mutual defense pact ally - Syria. And as I'm about to offer below, an Israeli preemptive strike on Iran might possibly be the precipitating, the prophetic domino, of Isaiah 17.

Consider...

I have entertained the exegetical position for quite some time now that there will occur a series of wars or military actions which precipitate subsequent military actions involving Israel in the near term. Each one is a precursor to the next.

We have witnessed to 2006 Israel-Hezbollah war, which was precipitated by a terrorist kidnapping action in Gaza, that was repeated on the northern front and led to the improperly planned and ill-prepared war (Thank you Ehud Olmert, not). Next came the the IDF's inevitable Operation Cast Lead, during which the potential for escalation or expansion of IDF military operations on the northern front (Lebanon/Syria) was a distinct possibility for the IDF's military planners. Such is the nature of modern warfare and particularly in the Middle East.

My thoughts are that the military engagement predicted in Isaiah 17 is a precursor event to Psalm 83. Imagine, and it doesn't take much imagination, to anticipate the reaction in Lebanon, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt as well as Gaza and the West Bank to a nuclear annihilation of Damascus. The precursor event to the nuking of Damascus could very likely be a surprise Syrian Bio/Chem warhead assault on central Israel. Syria is threatening and the Israeli's are counter-threatening on their response. After-the-fact of such a limited WMD exchange, the Arabs and Sunni Islamists might unify and take on the mindset and planning described by Isaiah.

This then might precipitate the literal fulfillment of Psalm 83, which leaves only Ezekiel 38/39 as the final military engagement prior to the onset of conditions leading to Daniel's 70th Week.

I also think there is a specific reason why Syria (Aram) is not specifically mentioned by Asaph in Psalm 83. It's because Syria has already been militarily dealt with in Isaiah 17.

I have just engaged in some finely-tuned research which I would quite probably not have done if I'd not been asked by Bill Salus about the Assur vs. Aram issue. Using the King James Version, Young's Literal Translation along with Strong's Concordance and the abundant Blue Letter Bible tools, I came to the position that the reference in Psalm 83:8a is literally to Assur (northern Iraq). Psalm 83:8b speaks to how it is Assur who lends strength to the "sons of Lot" (i.e. modern day Jordan).

The US military has led the way along with our western allies in rebuilding a very effective fighting force in Iraq. Might a token brigade or two be forward deployed to Jordan during Psalm 83 combat operations? I think it entirely possible, especially if Psalm 83 occurs concurrent with the U.S. draw down or after the withdrawal of US combat brigades from Iraq in the next two years.

And as an afterthought, does anyone think the Obama Administration would stand in the way of such a deployment against Israel?

As always, the imminence of the Harpazo is the primary imminent event.
At some unknown microsecond in time between right now but prior to the revealing of the Antichrist -- ALL BELIEVERS IN CHRIST (the Bride of Christ) WILL BE TAKEN IN THAT MICROSECOND TO FOREVER BE WITH THE LORD. With these posts I am illustrating just how VERY CLOSE to the Harpazo, which is the sending of the Son at the direction of the Father to catch away, to elope from this earth, with His betrothed Bride-To-Be.
These prophetic things are being explained to those of you who have not made a committment to Christ in the hope that you will decide to accept His sacrifice for your salvation, or atthe minimum so that when the Harpazo occurs you will know the truth about what has happened on that day.
