Global SITREP A29-13: The Fate of Damascus and Syria Assured

15 September 2013: The image above is of the ruin of Duma, formerly a thriving suburb lying just 6 miles from the heart of Damascus, Syria. This image was taken by war correspondent Goran Tomasevic of Reuters seven months ago. It has gotten worse since then. There are many other neighborhoods completely within the city limits of Damascus that look worse than this. The cities of Homs, Hama, Aleppo and dozens upon dozens of others throughout Syria are worse than this. Thus, the literal text of Isaiah 17:1-3 is coming to fulfillment before our eyes.

In the news today the so-called Kerry-Lavrov agreement all but guarantees that the larger regional war, which will involve Israel as made clear by Isaiah 17:9, will come to its fulfillment precisely as the prophecy declares it will. The fact is that the Kerry-Lavrov "agreement" is fatally flawed, first and foremost because it is an agreement by two men representing two opposed nations who have lied to each others faces before their shaking hands on something that is both unenforceable and unimplementable.

Secondly, this agreement between Russian and American negotiators will not be implemented by Bashar al-Assad's Ba'athist Syrian government because of al-Assad's added conditions that:

1) Israel must dispose of its nuclear arsenal prior to Syria disposing of its chemical weapons.
2) America and its allies (including Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar) must halt all military assistance to rebel forces even while Russia continues arming al-Assad's own loyal military forces with more firepower than they have ever possessed in the past.

In simple parlance this entire "deal" is a non-starter from the get-go. The hand-shakers haven't stopped anything; they have enabled much, much worse to come. The "negotiation" has been a sham and a scam from the get-go, and has resulted in a recipe for chaotic regional warfare the likes of which this world has never seen before. It will consume tens of thousands of lives, many dozens of cities and villages as well as the complete destruction of Damascus and the Syrian nation as we have known it. The end-game of the fulfillment of Isaiah 17 stands before us, and that takes us one prophetic step closer to the coming of our Lord and His everlasting Kingdom. Marana tha!

  1. Excellent assesment!! I didn't know about the requirement for Israel to give up their 'weapons'.

  2. Roz,

This was an absolute no-brainer from the moment I understood that the US and Russia would enter into a negotiation over Syrian weapons of mass destruction: Israel's deterrent strength, it's 'Never Again' guarantee, was going to be secretly integral part to any agreement requiring Syria to dispose of its WMD arsenal. Israel's nuclear weapons would have to be "on the table" even without sovereign Israeli participation in the negotiations.

This requirement is the real reason behind Kerry's visit to Israel today. He has to (attempt to) explain it to PM Netanyahu given two unassailable facts which I will pose as questions.

1.) Is Israel one of the belligerent sides the Syrian civil war?

No. Israel has no roles in the Syrian civil war.

2.) Is Israel a party to the agreement?

No. The "agreement" is between the US and Russia and dependent upon Syrian government acquiescence to it.

So why must Kerry - within hours of that final handshake - get on his aircraft and fly to Israel?

In order to explain the finer details of what this insane "agreement" requires of Israel to Bibi Netanyahu. I would love to be a fly on the wall of that room; I would probably hear Netanyahu ask of Kerry "Have you completely lost your mind? What part of 'Never Again' do you not comprehend?"

Therefore, the failure of this agreement to succeed will be blamed upon Israel's refusal to unilaterally disarm, or in other words, for Israel to commit national suicide.

The reality of this agenda was first made manifest in a statement made by Bashar Jaafari, Syria's ambassador to the UN, the day before Yom Kippur: "The main danger of WMD is the Israeli nuclear arsenal."

It is no great surprise that this Syrian requirement is going virtually unmentioned in today's morning political programs.

John Kerry hasn't the foggiest idea that 74 years after the fact he is re-enacting the role of Neville Chamberlain in Munich.

  3. Turkey just shot down a Syrian helicopter. How do you think the Syrians will respond, Sean?

  4. That'll depend on whether the pilot/crew of the chopper were Syrians or Russians and where the aircraft came down, in Turkey or in Syria.

It'll also depend on whether or not the chopper had previously fired on a target on Turkish soil. If so, then there can be no complaint.
