Clues to the Timing of Ezekiel 38/39 and other Insights

1 February 2012: I was immersed in serious Ezekiel 38/39 study into the wee hours this morning when new insights began to emerge that I'd not noticed previously.

Firstly, Ezekiel is the only prophet recorded in the Holy Bible to which God directly revealed the details about "Gog, of the land of Magog, prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy concerning him."

None of the other prophets - Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel or Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi wrote so much as a single prophetic word about Gog of Magog. Zippo, Nada, None. The fact that the angel Gabriel said nothing to Daniel about Gog of Magog speaks volumes in my opinion. I would say the purpose of God the Father is inherent in this blatant omission. More on that in just a moment.

Secondly, when the angel Gabriel told Daniel (Ch. 11) about the kings of the south and north, that particular prophecy was fulfilled in the several wars between the Hellenic empires of Ptolemaic Egypt (south of Israel) and the Seleucid Empire of southwest Asia (north of Israel). These wars were fought over a period of 106 years (274-167 BC) and which culminated in the fulfilled prophecies about the precursor antichrist Antiochus IV Epiphanes.

There is no mention of the Antichrist or of Jerusalem or any existing Temple in Ezekiel 38/39. I believe these are indicators that the attempted invasion by Gog's confederation occurs during a period of time when Israel is dwelling securely (after Psalm 83, Isaiah 17 for example) but has not yet rebuilt the Temple. Like a time between right now and the start of Daniel's 70th Week and the revealing of the Antichrist with his 7-year "covenant among many."

Finally, getting back to the Lord's purpose in His prophetic word to Ezekiel. This is a really crucial point for us to consider. This coming great slaughter upon the mountains of Israel in Ezekiel 38/39 is not just to bring Israel back into faithfulness to God, but also, as the Lord declares in verse 16: (NKJV - emphasis added) "And thou hast come up against My people Israel, As a cloud to cover the land, In the latter end of the days it is, And I have brought thee in against My land, IN ORDER THAT THE NATIONS MAY KNOW ME, IN MY BEING SANCTIFIED IN THEE BEFORE THEIR EYES, O Gog."

Do you see that? God declares to Ezekiel - and to all of us living right now - that He will supernaturally reveal Himself to the gentile nations of the world through the overwhelming slaughter of Gog's entire confederated military forces and the fire He sends on the land of Magog.

First question: What purpose would there be to this for all of the gentile nations if it were not prior to the Harpazo?

And what does Ezekiel say occurs after the burial of Gog's confederate armies?

Israel builds the Temple.

Republican National Committee: One State Solution - Israel

21 January 2012: Last week at the Republican National Committee at its winter meeting meeting in New Orleans, LA adopted a resolution that calls for a one state solution to the never ending crisis in the Middle East. The resolution resolves for a single state under one law in the territory of Israel, Judea and Samaria with Israeli citizenship rights extended to all. This resolution all but acknowledges the results of Asaph's Psalm 83 prophetic prayer.

The resolution (part of the Republican National Platform for the 2012 Presidential Election) has a preamble which describes Eretz (the Land) of Israel as God-given to the Jews and resolves "that the members of this body support Israel in their natural and God-given right of self-governance and self-defense upon their own lands, recognizing that Israel is neither an attacking force nor an occupier of the lands of others; and that peace can be afforded the region only through a united Israel governed under one law for all people."

This is a tremendous departure from the anti-Genesis 12:3 Republican 2008 platform which stated: "We support the vision of two democratic states living in peace and security: Israel, with Jerusalem as its capital, and Palestine."

Those who say there is no difference between Republicans and Democrats have another thing coming.

The Jewish Daily Forward: GOP Calls for One Israel 'For All People'

AN RNC RESOLUTION TO COMMEND THE NATION OF ISRAEL FOR ITS RELATIONS WITH THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

WHEREAS, Israel has been granted her lands under and through the oldest recorded deed as reported in the Old Testament, a tome of scripture held sacred and reverenced by Jew and Christian, alike, as the acts and words of God; and

WHEREAS, as the Grantor of said lands, God stated to the Jewish people in the Old Testament; in Leviticus, Chapter 20, Verse 24: “Ye shall inherit their land, and I will give it unto you to possess it, a land that floweth with milk and honey”; and

WHEREAS, God has never rescinded his grant of said lands; and

WHEREAS, along with the grant of said lands to the Jewish people, God provided for the non-Jewish residents of the land in commanding that governance must be in one law for all without drawing distinction between Jewish and non-Jewish citizens, as contained in Leviticus 24:22, and

WHEREAS, the Nation of Israel declared its independent control and governance of said lands on May 14, 1948, with the goal of re-establishing their God-given lands as a homeland for the Jewish people; and

WHEREAS, the United States of America, having been the first country to recognize Israel as an independent nation and as Israel’s principal Mideast ally, has enjoyed a close and mutually beneficial relationship with Israel and her people; and

WHEREAS, indeed, Israel is the United States of America’s greatest friend in the Mideast; and

WHEREAS, the roots of Israel and the roots of the United States of America are so intertwined that it is difficult to separate one from the other under the word and protection of almighty God; and

WHEREAS, there are those in the Middle East who have sought to destroy Israel from its inception as anation; and

WHEREAS, those same enemies of Israel also seek to destroy the United States of America; and

WHEREAS, the United States of America and the nation of Israel have enjoyed cordial and mutually beneficial relations since 1948, a friendship that should continues to strengthen with each passing year.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Republican Nation Committee that the committee by this resolution commends the nation of Israel for its relations with the United States of America.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the members of this body support Israel in their natural and God-given right of self-governance and self-defense upon their own lands, recognizing that Israel is neither an attacking force nor an occupier of the lands of others; and that peace can be afforded the region only through a united Israel governed under one law for all people.

Current Events: Russia and Iran

15 January 2012: The current conditions in Israel do not merit talk of the imminent fulfillment of Ezekiel 38/39. There is much to be fulfilled prior to those conditions being met.

In fact, one need not bother to ask the residents of Sderot, Be'ersheva, Ashdod or anywhere in Judea or Samaria if any of the five following conditions are true as they are plainly evident as untrue:

1.) All Israel is not dwelling securely (yashab betach) at the present time;

2.) Israel is not a land of unwalled villages ('erets pĕrazah);

3.) Israel is not at undisturbed rest, dwelling without walls, bars or gates (shaqat yashab chowmah bĕriyach deleth) (Ez. 38:11);

4.) With no one to make them afraid (charad) (Ez. 39:26);

5.) Nor is Israel yet in possession of the valley of the passengers east of the sea (gay' `abar qidmah yam) (Ez. 39:11).

When ALL 5 of the above prophetic conditions are plainly evident, then talk about the imminence of Ezekiel 38/39 fulfillment will be appropriate.

The State of the Middle East 2012

26 December 2012: In these closing days of the Year of our Lord 2011 a look at the situation in the Middle East is much deserved if not imperative.

First and foremost, there is no "Palestinian state" as many a secular news commentary would have had us believe would occur in the past year. A Palestinian state did not happen. Instead what has occurred is a complete rupturing of the former status quo of false peace negotiations between Israel and the so-called 'Palestinians.' What we have at the dawn of the year 2012 is a reuniting of the terrorist-origin 'Palestinian National Authority' (PA) with the Islamofascist terrorist acronym known as HAMAS (Ḥarakat al-Muqāwamah al-ʾIslāmiyyah, a/k/a Islamic Resistance Movement), a group born of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood. Psalm 83 will soon reach its final fulfillment precisely as foretold by Asaph.

In Egypt, as in other Islamic Arab nations formerly ruled by dictators, the military remnant of the Mubarak regime still tenuously holds power in the face of renewed uprisings by the Muslim fundamentalist masses led by the al-Ikhwan al-Muslimeen (Muslim Brotherhood) and the Salafists in their respective strongholds around the country and in Cairo. In the Egyptian Sinai the overt rise in the past few weeks of the Al Qaeda-linked terrorist group "Ansar al-Jihad in the Sinai Peninsula" since the fall of Mubarak was inevitable and led to the attacks in Eilat, Israel as well as the repeated attacks on the Egypt-Israel gas pipeline. This newly emergent terrorist organization could not exist without the tacit support and/or involvement of HAMAS, Egypt, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Islamic Republic of Sudan (Ezekiel's Kuwsh, as noted here). These Islamic terrorists in the Sinai Peninsula will likely fulfill the role of Amalek per Psalm 83 verse 7.

Then there's the basket case of Bashar al-Assad's Syria, ruled by a minority Shi'a faction of Alawites it remains in the throes of a Sunni Islamonazi insurrection very much like that which just toppled the dictatorial regime of Muamar Ghadaffi in Libya. This internal Syrian affair has drawn in both Turkey and Iran on opposite sides of the conflict, and placed Israeli-Turkish relations in the odd position of being simultaneously belligerent and non-belligerent with respect to each others national interests. Clearly Ezekiel 38/39 is not an imminent or next-in-line prophetic fulfillment as Isaiah 17, Psalm 83 and Joshua 13:1-7 all appear to be.

And leading the pack in terms of global Islamic terrorism, Middle Eastern destabilization and war-mongering is the truly apocalyptic-minded regime of mullahs in the Islamic Republic of Iran. In this aspect we await the fulfillment of Jeremiah 49:34-39. As this post is being written Iran is directly challenging the United States 5th Fleet and NATO's naval forces in the area east of the Strait of Hormuz in the Arabian Sea southward to the entrance to the Red Sea. Without question the greatest threat to world peace as we enter the year 2012 comes from the area of the world where the deception of Islam holds millions of people captive to its pseudo-religious dictates.

These 'End Times' are not going to unfold according to the will of a Satanically-inspired false moon god, but the Almighty God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and that will be the focus of this Eschatology Today forum as we go forward into the year 2012 and await the promised blessed hope of the Harpazo.

The Magoi

Re-Post 24 December 2011; Original Post date 6 January 2010: The above image is an artistic rendering of the three Magoi (Magi). In fact, there had to have been quite an entourage who accompanied the Magoi, primarily because of the basic fact that no one makes a 1,000+ mile round trip journey across the desert between Mesopotamia and Israel on foot without the supplies of a life-sustaining caravan and significant numbers of mounted cavalry for protection. The actual number of gentile visitors from the east was probably closer to 300 than just 3. It's a minor miracle that the illegitimate Roman puppet King Herod did not think the appearance of this caravan was the advance guard of a Parthian Empire invasion force.

The importance of the whole story about the Magoi is quite likely unknown by most Christians. That's because we've not spent much time learning about it, even though it is Scripture, Old Testament prophetic Scripture at that.

Oh, we all know and have visualized one way or another the "We Three Kings" Christmas carol, and have seen Nativity scene imagery like the above for the sum of our lives, but that's not the half of it. There's more... so much more to the story.

The more I think about it, the more I am astounded by the fact that the GENTILE Magoi who came out of the Parthian Empire and made this tremendous journey did so after fervently holding to the prophet Daniel's detailed prophecy (Daniel 9:24-27) concerning the coming of the Messiah for over 600 years, and waited generation after generation for a very specific sign in the skies, and all the while knowing the precise number of days until the Messiah's birth.

And then once that sign appeared and the number of days had elapsed they rounded up the multiple parts of a large caravan and the water and provisions for the entire group's survival, plus the gifts for the object of their 500+ year devotion for what had to be a round trip of something well in excess of 1,100 miles across barren desert.... I stand here in awe thinking about it.

The caravan was quite probably a round trip from Seleucia to Jerusalem and back, on foot and by beast of burden, of GENTILE believers coming from the Magoi's descendents of Nebuchadnezzar's Babylonian Empire, the Persian Empire, Alexander the Great's Empire, the Seleucid Empire to the Parthian Empire of the Roman Era.

That these GENTILES, these Magoi, had clung to and fervently believed in the exquisitely detailed God-breathed prophecy of Daniel concerning the coming birth of the Messiah for hundreds and hundreds of years, through all of the events, wars, and tumults that had occurred in this crossroads region of the known world, is without question the greatest account of the prophetic Word of God causing belief in the God of Israel among gentiles in history prior to the crucifixion, death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Having been in those same Middle Eastern deserts, such a specifically purposeful journey undertaken 2,000 years ago is mind-boggling to me. These gentiles from the regions and lands of Israel's captivity knew the details of, believed in and all the while eagerly awaited the birth of the Messiah. And the Jews, for the most part, due to their disobedience and the spiritual blindness and deafness placed upon them by the Covenant of Moab, besides the Covenant of Horeb, (Deuteronomy 29) knew nothing of His coming.

And here we are, knowing in detail that the days of time which are left until the advent of Daniel's 70th Week are all but palpable... just stand in awe and in praise of God my brothers and sisters, just stand in awe and praise to be a living part of all this.

The Psalm 83 War: The Final Phase

18 December 2010: Now it begins. Now that the last American combat troops have departed from Iraq and crossed the common border back in to Kuwait the nation of Iraq can resume its role in the war of attempted extermination of Israel as prophesied for these last days some 3,000 years ago by the Psalmist Asaph - the Psalm 83 War. Now the way is clear for the final and literal fulfillment of Psalm 83, and with particular respect to verse 8 (emphasis added).

¹Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.
²For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.
³They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.
⁴They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
⁵For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:
⁶The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;
⁷Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;
⁸Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.

This specific aspect of the Psalm 83 prophecy, the military linking of Assur (Iraq) and the children of Lot (Jordan) has been one of uncertainty for the past couple of years. My interpretation has been that it is direct reference to the assistance rendered to the Sunni Arab armies by Iraq in the wars of 1948, 1967 and 1973.

Then, for the past 20 years, Iraq had not been in a position to fulfill this role as it again is this very day - a position of being of militarily capable of assistance to Jordan and the Sunni Arab allies seeking to complete the military destruction of Israel. This news was first reported in English-language Arab media about one moth ago:

AMMAN: The commanders of the Jordanian and Iraqi armies on Tuesday expressed desire in boosting bilateral military cooperation as the US troops prepared to leave the neighboring violence-torn country, according to the official Petra news agency.
The remarks came during a meeting between a visiting high-level Iraqi military delegation headed by the Chief of Staff Gen. Babakr Zibari and a Jordanian delegation headed by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mishaal Al-Zaben.
Zibari and Al-Zaben "praised the he distinguished standard of cooperation between the armed forces in the two brotherly countries and expressed desire in boosting this cooperation in all military spheres and in such a manner that fulfils the aspirations of the two armies", Petra said.
The talks were attended by the commanding general of the US forces in Iraq Lloyd J. Austin III, who has warned that violence could grow in Iraq after the US withdrawal.
The visit by the commanders of the Iraqi army and the US troops in Iraq stirred speculation that Jordan could be tasked again with the training of Iraqi troops after the withdrawal of US forces from Iraq by the end of the year.
The Jordanian Army trained tens of thousands of Iraqi troops and policemen after the 2003 US-led invasion of the neighboring Arab country that toppled the regime of President Saddam Hussein.
The training of the Iraqi Army is emerging as an extremely sensitive issue after Iraqi politicians voiced reservations over keeping US personnel to train Iraqi soldiers beyond 2011.
The government of Prime Minister Nuri Al-Maliki also reportedly turned down an Iranian offer to train the Iraqi Army.

So, here we are, yet again on the cutting edge of prophetic fulfillment.

The War on Iran

06 December 2011: The battlefield has been prepared and the war on Iran is on. November 12, 2011 is the day I believe this war transitioned from a covert action cyberwar (Stuxnet, Duqu trojans) to an overt action conventional war, which itself is an escalation in real kinetic terms, in a final attempt to preempt a regional unconventional war featuring missile-borne weapons of mass destruction.

November 12 was the day when, as seen in the image above, two United States Navy Nimitz-class nuclear-armed super-carriers, USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) and USS George H. W. Bush (CVN 77) steamed in unprecedented fashion side-by-side into the Strait of Hormuz choke-point at the entrance to the Persian Gulf. American aircraft carriers have transited the Strait of Hormuz hundreds of times over the past 32 years, but never in such a bristling array as this. The message to Tehran and Qom was unambiguous as unambiguous gets.

November 12 was also the day that a massive explosion all but destroyed the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps solid-fuel missile production and testing complex at Al-Ghadeer. The Institute for Science and International Security posted a .pdf report on its website on 28 November that included before and after satellite imagery detailing the near leveling of the base and explaining why the funeral of the IRGC's missile chief, Major General Hassan Moghaddam and 36 other IRGC officers, was conducted in a closed casket procession. So powerful was the detonation that those caskets might well have been empty and of symbolic value only. Many of the production and testing buildings on the base were simply vaporized.

Another explosion at an IRGC weapons depot on the same day not far away also caused massive damage and death to the IRGC missile corps. Recall that a similar explosion occurred at the IRGC's Imam Ali Air Base Shahab-3 missile storage site in Lorestan Province a year earlier. And ten days later a secret weapons depot jointly run by the IRGC and Hezbollah in an area allegedly under the control of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) was blown up not far from the coastal city of Tyre. That weapons depot was clearly in violation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, but, as usual, nary a word has been said about that minor detail.

Since November 12th the Iranian government has dispatched its Basij street thug militia, the same militia which beat down, imprisoned and murdered hundreds of Iranian student protestors not so long ago, to ransack and burn the Embassy of the United Kingdom and its diplomatic residences. Ambassadors were recalled, staff was sent home, offices were shuttered, you know, all the things that happen as war a between the countries is erupting. Christians who know their Bible should also realize how prophetic all of this is.

Revelation 11:3-13 The Two Witnesses

26 October 2012: I believe that most of Revelation 11 is very literal with just fleeting symbolic references. With that in mind let’s look at the Two Witnesses. The Two Witnesses are God’s personal representatives on Earth who are active in Jerusalem during the first 1260 days of the 70^th Week. They are anointed by God with tremendous supernatural power for all of those 1260 days. This is the same kind of anointed power that Moses and Elijah (Eliyahu in Hebrew – my God is YHWH)) both wielded in performing the will of God in ancient times. Their attire of sackcloth is symbolically important to Israel; both Moses and Eliyahu wore sackcloth and it is the attire of Israel’s prophets.

The Two Witnesses are human beings, they are Jewish and they may well be alive right now somewhere in Israel, or at a minimum are soon to be born. If alive now they are young and most likely unaware of their future calling from God or of each other. While many speculate that the Two Witnesses will be Moses and Elijah returned to the Earth, this is not at all likely because those servants of the Lord were long ago transfigured into their eternal bodies. This is known because both were seen to be present at the transfiguration of Jesus (Matthew 17:3-4). Therefore, the Two Witnesses are quite probably going to be two of the 144,000 Jewish male evangelists who will receive an exceptionally special calling from the Lord. This calling will likely be like that which Moses and Elijah received; both were literally called and began their missions for God abruptly.

In self defense of their persons their supernatural power will consume their human enemies with fire, the kind of fire that water cannot extinguish and consumes utterly and completely. Like Elijah’s fire. Their power will cause the cessation of any precipitation for the entire 1,260 days in which they prophecy. In the arid Middle East this is bad enough, but it gets worse. They will then turn other consumable water sources into blood making them non-potable, and strike anywhere on Earth with all manner of plagues whenever they desire, like Moses did to Egypt prior to the Exodus. No wonder the whole world of deceived peoples will hate them with such a passion. The Two Witnesses’ only friends will be each other, the 143,998 Jewish evangelists and the Tribulation Saints.

And then their time is finished. At the end of the 1,260 days the demon king Abaddon/Apollyon is freed from the abyss, indwells and reanimates the Antichrist who has suffered a mortal head wound and he promptly kills the Two Witnesses to the delight of all the deceived around the world. Given the nature of their immense supernatural power manifest over the previous three and one half years the people of Jerusalem will leave their bodies lay where they will fall in the street upon death, refusing them any burial. These events will in all probability be seen live on satellite broadcast around the Earth in real-time. There will be unbridled celebration and gift-giving by the deceived, Antichrist worshipping millions around the world.

And then it happens, three and one-half days after their death these rotting street corpses will suddenly be resurrected and transfigured, confounding and terrorizing those who will see them standing alive once again. Suddenly the celebrating stops as this breaking news flashes around planet earth at the speed of light. The people will hear a voice from Heaven calling them upwards and they will witness a Harpazo ascension just like that which the disciples saw upon Jesus’ ascension. Up into Heaven on a cloud the Two Witness shall go while the world watches in thunderstruck awe. Within that same hour an earthquake strikes Jerusalem, a tenth of the city crumbles to the ground and 7,000 souls are killed. Many of those who survive will repent on the spot and give all praise and glory to the God of Heaven.

It’s going to be a non-stop breaking news cycle from Jerusalem in the middle of this 70^th Week, and the worst of it is yet to occur. The Antichrist, the False Prophet and their forces are now about to enter the Holy Place and the Holy of Holies of the Temple that John the Revelator just measured with a reed in the opening verses of Revelation 11. They are there to halt the worship services and stand up the Abomination of Desolation. The return of Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God on Earth is now just 42 months away.

2 November 2011: Succinct and to the point. Israel has apparently tested an upgraded version of its Jericho III missile this morning. The Jericho III, a/k/a the YA-4, is a full-fledged ICBM capable of putting a 1,650 lb nuclear warhead onto a target 4,350 miles away. A slightly smaller warhead or pair of warheads could be delivered via low earth orbit anywhere on the planet. The Jericho III is also road mobile.

Jeremiah 49: Will a Coalition of Nations Move Against Iran? (Updated)

21 October 2011: It has been a full year since this article was posted here, and an awful lot has changed. Across the Arab-Islamic fundamentalist world there has occurred a sea change, particularly in the past 10 months of this year. Rod-of-Iron dictators who had held Arab Islamic fundamentalists at bay since the Iranian (Persian) revolution of 1979 have been removed from power by popular uprisings or are teetering on the brink of being ousted in the face of armed rebellion, to the killing of key fundamentalist leaders in the Islamic jihad movement. The world has focused on this so-called "Arab Spring."

But another key event has occurred this year which I have mentioned previously in this blog, and that is the ongoing armed clash between the Arab ruling House of Saudi Arabia and the apocalypse-minded Persian Shi'ite Twelver regime of the Islamic Republic of Iran. These armed clashes between Iranian-funded and inspired Shi'a have occurred on Yemeni soil, on Saudi soil and on Bahrani soil. With the recent revelation by the United States of an Iranian plot to assassinate the Saudi Ambassador to the US and to attack the Saudi and Israeli embassies in Washington, DC this Arab-Persian war nearly arrived on US soil. Understandably, the Saudi's are livid; they are demanding that action be taken against Iran, particularly the ending of its nuclear weapons program by force of arms.

This new paradigm finds the Saudi king and the Israeli leadership in agreement on what needs to be done with respect to the Iranian nuclear program, and the US is voicing its pledge that Iran will be held accountable for the assassination and embassy bombing plot. In Israel there has been conservative opinion expressed which holds that PM Netanyahu and his cabinet agreed to renounce their key principles in dealing with the terrorists of HAMAS to free Gilad Shalit from captivity in order to "clear his desk" for Israel to confront Iran head on. On Tuesday evening, October 11th Prime Minister Netanyahu spoke to his countrymen about a "window of opportunity that is about to be closed and connected it to geostrategic developments."

Is Iran now facing the prospect of a "perfect storm" coming from all directions external to its own borders? Are the words of the prophet Jeremiah below relative to this new situation? I tend to think they are, and I tend to think we may see their fulfillment to the letter as Bible prophecy is always fulfilled. Not only does Iran have this external threat to deal with as the prophecy details, but should the Ayatollah's regime be subjected to the right kind external non-nuclear military action then the door opens for the Iranian regime to see revolt from within its own borders as the second to last verse appears to indicate (emphasis added): "‘And I will send the sword after them Until I have consumed them. I will set My throne in Elam, and will destroy from there the king and the princes' says the Lord."

15 September 2010: Jeremiah 49:34-39

The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet against Elam, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying, “Thus says the LORD of hosts:

‘ Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, The foremost of their might. Against Elam I will bring the four winds From the four quarters of heaven, And scatter them toward all those winds; There shall be no nations where the outcasts of Elam will not go. For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies And before those who seek their life. I will bring disaster upon them, My fierce anger,’ says the LORD; ‘ And I will send the sword after them Until I have consumed them. I will set My throne in Elam, And will destroy from there the king and the princes,’ says the LORD. ‘ But it shall come to pass in the latter days: I will bring back the captives of Elam,’ says the LORD.”

Although this is a work in-progress, I'd like to propose an interpretation whereby this prophetic "Judgment on Elam" from Jeremiah, which self-dates to the beginning of the reign of King Zedekiah, or circa 595 BC, will be fulfilled in the near future, possibly prior to the final fulfillment of Psalm 83, and definitively prior to Ezekiel 38/39. I'm anchoring this future fulfillment upon the historical fact that the Elamite Kingdom ceased to exist during the ten year process of the Assyrian conquest led by King Ashurbanipal which was completed in 639 BC. Since Before Christ dates count downward, the gap of time between these years places the prophetic "Judgment on Elam" as being given to Jeremiah by the Lord approximately 44 years after the Assyrian conquest of Elam, and thus providing a strong context for latter days fulfillment.

There is also the related issue of a clear distinction in those ancient times between the Elamites and the Pä·ras'/Persians (old Persian: Pārsa) of Ezekiel 38:5. The Persian's originated in the region east of Elam defined by the natural boundary created by the Zagros Mountains, and the eastern most extent of the Elamite Kingdom at the city of Anshan/Anzan (modern-day Tepe Maylan, Iran). With the collapse of the Elamite Kingdom the Persians slowly took control with the Medes of what we know today as modern Iran.

According to several maps I've studied the ancient Elamite Empire could well be considered to constitute the core territory of the present day Iranian nuclear effort (i.e. the uranium mines and yellow cake processing facilities at Saghand and Ardekan, near Yazd; the Uranium Conversion Facility (UCF) at the Esfahan; the Natanz uranium enrichment facility, and the nuclear crown jewel at Bushehr). The Iranian nuclear weapons program is fully integrated with the Iranian ballistic missile delivery vehicles, and which together could well be interpreted as the the arrows of "Elam's" bow, "the foremost of their might" of verse 35 which is precisely the greatest strength of the current Iranian military.

In the next verse we read that the judgment comes in the form of "the four winds" (i.e. all points on the compass and intimating many nations) as being the "sword" the Lord sends after them. Also looking at the map of Iran, it does appear that Arab nations, the principle of which is Saudi Arabia, would be among those coming against Elam from the southern "wind" along with many other nations constituting the other three directions. This includes Israel and many other nations such as the NATO alliance, and clearly invokes the modern day notion of a warfighting coalition of nations such as we saw in the early 1990s Operation Desert Storm against Iraq and the present day Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.

Some current context for this interpretive theory.

19 months ago (FEB 2009) there were more than a few highly qualified nuclear weapons experts at the Herzliya Conference in Israel - one of whom was Russian Major-General Vladimir Dvorkin - who said that the Islamic Republic of Iran already had already achieved a nuclear weapons capability.

This was reported world-wide by Bill Gertz in his "Inside the Ring" column. General Dvorkin was quoted saying, “Iran has developed the capability to produce and fire nuclear weapons.”

General Dvorkin told the Hezliya Conference Iran had acquired most of the components for building its nuclear weapon by 2003, and "The only way I see the problem being resolved is by military action.”

Former U.S. Speaker of the House of Representatives Newt Gingrich told this same conference three years ealier that three Iranian nuclear weapons constituted a nuclear holocaust for Israel, and if used against the United States would result in the loss of two to three American cities, and the direct result of such an attack would be that "freedom as we know it will disappear, and we will become a much grimmer, much more militarized, dictatorial society."

It is a standing premise of this interpretive theory that while the "Global Oligarchists" are creating a hideous system of world governance ready-made for the coming Western Antichrist to usurp, they are not even close to being the suicidal maniacs of Jihadist Islam - such as the Shi'a Islamic Republic of Iran has created. I think it reasonable to expect them to act in concert - in a grand military coalition which they most certainly do control right now - to defend the world system they're creating from the Iranian al-mahdist apocalypse.

Arriving at a point-of-no-return regarding Iranian nuclear development, a point possibly defined by an Iranian nuclear test detonation, possibly occurring in North Korea instead of Iran, a coalition of nations attacking these many above ground nuclear sites might release radiation and necessitate the need for the population to seek refuge in distant places, as intimated in verse 36c: "There shall be no nations where the outcasts of Elam will not go." The Bushehr plant particularly meets this criteria.

The Truth About Islam From Iran

UPDATE 12 OCTOBER 2011: After persistent reports of the past two days that Pastor Nadarkhani's case had been placed in the hands of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, new information has come out of Iran indicating that the Ayatollah wants no part of this international hot potato and that Nadarkhani's case was to be returned by the Iranian Supreme Court back to the Gilan Provincial court for yet another re-trial after certain technicalities and concerns about the initial investigation were cleared up.

This news comes as the American government announced that the Iranian government via the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps/Qods Force engaged in yet another act of war against the United States with an active plot to assassinate the Saudi Arabian Ambassador on US soil and to attack the Saudi and Israeli Embassies in Washington, DC. Given this completely disheveled state of affairs just about anything is possible, including the possibility that we might be one step closer to a literal fulfillment of Jeremiah 49:34-39, a fulfillment where a non-nuclear EMP assault upon Iran could lead the way.

UPDATE 02 OCTOBER 2011: Pastor Yousef Nadarkhani's problem may be approaching closure. This is irregardless of the fact that it seems obvious the Islamic Republic of Iran is intent on killing Pastor Nadarkhani. The Shi'a Twelver government in Iran appears to have scrapped the apostasy charges in favor of new false charges of Yousef being "a Zionist, a traitor [who] had committed security crimes" according to Gholam-Ali Rezvani, deputy governor general of Gilan Province.

It is not immediately clear if these new charges carry a death sentence. The reason the Iranian Supreme Court sent the case back to the court in Rasht (the capital of Gilan Province) was to convict Pastor Nadarkhani of apostasy, and have him renounce Christianity in favor of Islam. Pastor Nadarkhani steadfastly has refused, denying that he was ever a Muslim, and thereby defeating the religious charges against him. This is why the new government charges were whipped up out of nothing.

Here's where the rubber meets the road. The court in Rasht has not been trying Pastor Nadarkhani on political charges and by the end of next week at the final hearing the court could well decide to set Yousef free. The court magistrates in Rasht have heard Pastor Nadarkhani's abundant testimony about our Messiah Jesus Christ and according to his lawyer they are very likely convinced at this point that he is an innocent man. Let us maintain our prayer vigil for Brother Yousef, his family and the Christian Church of Iran.

08 July 2011: 32-year old Yosef Nadarkhani (seen above) is a Christian evangelical pastor from Gilan Province in Iran, along the southern shore of the Caspian Sea. Yosef has been a Christian since age 19, and is married with children. In October 2009 authorities arrested him after he objected to Islam being taught to Christian children in Iranian schools. The indictment levied against Yosef accused him of organizing Christian evangelical meetings, preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, asking others to invite Jesus into their hearts, using his house as a church and for "denying Islamic values." Yosef was put on trial, convicted of the indictments and has been sentenced to death by hanging under the charge of apostasy from Islam.

After his conviction Yosef appealed to the Iranian Supreme Court. That court has ruled that Yosef will have to return to the convicting court and face questioning. If the questioning determines that he does not believe in Islam, if he is not a Muslim, then he must renounce his faith in Jesus Christ before the court or be hanged by the neck until dead.

Brothers and Sisters, we have two tasks before us. The first is to pray for our Brother Yosef Nadarkhani, his family and his church. Pray that God's will is done; spare Yosef from a martyrs death and provide them all with the safety of His protection.

The second task is to correctly teach others who have been deceived by what Western media says about the "peaceful religion of Islam." We need to inform them that Islam (Submission) is in reality the total submission of the will of the individual human being to an utterly false god who has nothing to do with our God YHWH, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of Israel, the Father of whom our Lord Jesus Christ was born to take away the sins of the whole world.

For the past 1,380-some odd years Islam has been an earthly manifestation of the powers we struggle against while wearing he whole armor of God according to Ephesians 6:10-18.

"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Focus on Ezekiel 38:5 - Kuwsh

2 September 2011: In this post I hope to provide some Scripture-based insight to correct a long-held misidentification of the land of Cush. This is an important distinction that directly relates to current events and what will shortly transpire, I believe, following the fulfillment of Psalm 83 and just prior to the commencement of Daniel's 70th Week.

To begin with, who was Ezekiel? Ezekiel was born in Jerusalem around 622 BC, he was a Kohanim Judean priest of Yahweh and was His prophet. Ezekiel was inspired directly from God. Therefore, Ezekiel directly and infallibly spoke the LORD God's prophetic word.

What we know as the country of Ethiopia is not mentioned whatsoever in Ezekiel 38:5. I believe the naming of Ethiopia in this context is a long-standing interpretive and eschatological error.

Ezekiel 38:5, written in the original Hebrew, is as follows: "Persia (Parac - pronounced Pah-rass), Cush (Kuwsh - pronounced Koosh), and Put (Puwt - pronounced Poot), with them, All of them [with] shield and helmet."

These peoples are, firstly, the original eastern Persians, as opposed to the Elamites who lived just east of Mesopotamia, or the Medes who lived to the north. We also have the Puwt who are the North Africans to the west of Egypt all the way to present day Mauritania. Yet it is the Kuwsh who are our focus here, and they are the direct descendants of Ham's son Kuwsh, the grandson of Noah. Isaiah 18:1 tells us where they lived "along the rivers of Kuwsh" which are located in the modern-day nation of Sudan directly to the south of Egypt. The "rivers of Kuwsh" are: (see map below)

1.) the Nile River,
2.) the White Nile River
3.) the Blue Nile River

Again, at present time there is a direct anti-Israel military connection between Iran (Persia), Sudan (Kuwsh) and the newly emergent Islamists of Libya (Puwt), Tunisia and Algeria (North Africans). We don't have to wait for anything to occur in Ethiopia as the southern branch of Gog's military alliance already exists today.

In ancient times this land was also known as Nubia (as seen in the map at the top) and in many respects was as advanced as the Egyptians of that ancient era. The Nubians were allies of Israel as proven by Isaiah 37:9-38 and 2 Kings 19 which both are a record concerning the invading Assyrians and the alliance between King Hezekiah and King Tirhakah of Kuwsh.

This is the ancient land of Kuwsh (Cush) identified in Ezekiel 38/39.

UPDATE 5 September 2011: In these last days is it not an obvious manifestation of the LORD God's Divine will that this land has been divided into two distinct nations? Of course it is, but how many have made note of this occurrence? It came about after the course of events of the past 55 years, with active armed rebellion and resistance between 1955 and 1972, and from 1983 to 2005. The LORD's will became manifest just about two months ago, on 9 July 2011.

The northern part of Kuwsh, a land divided by the three rivers identified above, is an Arab Islamic-ruled abomination which fervently seeks Israel's destruction, as mentioned above and ultimately to be manifest in the prophecy of Ezekiel 38/39.

The southern part, now known as "South Sudan" with a population of over 8 million souls and its capital city further to the south at Juba, is a fervent supporter of Israel. This nation is largely the product of Christian missionaries - Christian soldiers - who over the past century of time literally executed the Great Commission of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

And now another relevant and obvious question for us all to consider:

1.) Does this new fact in our world not have a direct link and provide new insights to the prophecy of Isaiah 18? Is the harvest spoken of in Isaiah 18:3-5 a reference to the Harpazo/Rapture?

Hurricane Irene

28 August 2011: Here we go. Hurricane Irene has all but arrived in my neck o' the woods. At 5 AM EDT the northern edge of the eye-wall is just 20 miles to the south. It appears looking at detailed radar returns that the eye-wall is just beginning to collapse on its southwestern edge. Wind speed here are in the constant tropical storm to 50 MPH range with gusts to 60 MPH range. I am thrilled since waking at 4:30 AM that we still have electrical power and TV coverage from Philadelphia and The Weather Channel. The New York City stations are utterly useless for any information south of Monmouth County; ditto for the corporate news (CNN, Fox, etc). So far, so good. Assuming electric stays online I'll post one final update in about three hours.

It's 8 AM on Sunday 28 August and we're in what's left of the 'eye' of Hurricane Irene. No major damage and power is still online - Praise God! Lots of minor debris all around. I have two very large branches which come off a 40 ft Pear tree (my side of the property line) between my neighbor's and my house. Still attached minimally to the tree trunk and the bulk resting on each of our roofs and common stockade fencing. Time to fire up the chain saw and get to work removing this debris before Irene's backside arrives in an hour or so.

26 August 2011: Irene's forecast hurricane wind threat has been down-graded to a category 1 (+74 MPH) for the Jersey shore and near hurricane force winds (+58 MPH) inland across the rest of the state to the Delaware River. This means the meteorologists expect some weaking as Irene's center crosses North Carolina's Outer Banks and enters Pamlico Sound west of Cape Hatteras. A wind speed down-grade is the good news. The bad news is that the ground here in NJ is already saturated from recent heavy rains which makes a considerable number of felled trees a strong probability across the state. That could spell major power outages that will take some time to restore. Overall, the storm track remains unchanged from yesterday.

25 August 2011: This week pretty much began with an a very rare earthquake that was felt from North Carolina to New York City and northwards. I experienced the earthquake here in New Jersey while at the Tuesday practice round for the PGA Tour event (The Barclays) of the FedEx Cup playoffs. It now appears certain that this week will conclude with a hurricane named Irene that has the potential to equal or exceed the so-called Norfolk and Long Island Hurricane of 1821.

If this forecast turns out to be correct, that would make Hurricane Irene out to be a virtual 200-year hurricane that will be devastating to upwards of 60 to 100 million people. Here in southern New Jersey my home will be fully prepared by Sunday morning for 100-120 MPH winds and enough provisions to overcome any eventuality and to assist others in need. This entry will be updated as Irene makes her approach and thereafter as long as internet access allows. Pray for everyone in the northeastern United States; the Lord may well be sending us a wake-up call.

Daniel's 70th Week and the Harpazo

13 July 2011: This time we're back into the "meat and 'taters" of eschatological study. I say "meat and 'taters" because this is some truly heavy fare that will require significant Berean study, commentary, and probably some editing in the process. I am not really teaching anything with this post, but rather I'm as much learning in this process as are those who are reading this for the first time.

To begin with, a verse from Daniel that we should all be quite familiar with. It is this verse which I believe is indicative of both the revealing of the Antichrist and the commencement of Daniel's 70th Week and the imminent Harpazo of the Bride of Christ which meany teach is a signless event.

"Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week he shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering." (Daniel 9:27a NKJV)

How does this verse relate to Paul's exhorations to the Thessalonians who were very concerned that Daniel's 70th Week had commenced.

"Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God." (2 Thessalonians 2:1-4)

If 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3 is definitively referring to the Harpazo of the Bride of Christ, then clearly that event is not signless event with spiritual apostasy and the revealing of the Antichrist being definitive temporal signs that the Harpazo must occur after the restrainer is moved out of the way. As Paul strenuously exhorts - let no one deceive us in any way about this.

So, if I understand this correctly, and I think I've done my homework here, what Paul is teaching to the Thessalonians, and to all Christians up to the present time, is that the apostasy (falling away) precedes the revealing of the Antichrist and the revealing of the Antichrist precedes the Harpazo.

Here is where I, as a pretribulationist believer, found that I must assume in reading these verses that Paul had taught the Thessalonians about a pretribulation Harpazo. Indeed the assumption is correct because Paul so states in the very next verse (2 Thessalonians 2:5) that he had previously taught the Thessalonians exactly that.

However, in spite of the teaching they had received the Thessalonians thought they were living in the tribulation, during Daniel's 70th Week. They were extremely concerned that they had missed the Harpazo which in turn made Paul's correction to them in these verses absolutely necessary; he had to prove to them in no uncertain terms that the Harpazo had not occurred and thus gave them specific signs with with to prove his teaching and alleviate their fears.

EDIT UPDATE 19 July 2011: I believe the restrainer is the Bride of Christ empowered by the Holy Spirit.

In my study I realized that knowledge of who the restrainer is has been the fact of the matter since the Day of Pentecost (read: Paul in Romans 5:5). The restrainers role will end on the Day of Harpazo. This finite period of time is also referred to as the Dispensation of Grace, and is referred to by Paul in Romans 11:25 as "until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in."

As for Daniel's 70th Week, we all know those literal 7 years have two 42-month long halves. It is the second half which is a Great Tribulation like nothing ever experienced on the earth in the past or ever again in the future. The near annihilation of all life on the earth if those future days are not cut short by the direct intervention of God.

Those months are foretold in the Old Testament.

Isaiah 26:19-21 (Isaiah refers to this period as "the indignation" and also prophecy's the Harpazo will "hide" us in certain chambers until this period of time is past. Those chambers (literally "dwellings") were revealed to us by the Lord Himself in John 14:1-3. Zephaniah also speaks to our being "hid" in "the day of the LORD's anger (i.e. the day of the LORD's wrath). The same is said in Psalm 27:5.

As a template for the Harpazo of the Bride of Christ, I think the Harpazo of Enoch prior to Noah's Flood serves us very well. Genesis 5 tells us that Enoch lived 365 years and was Harpazoed straight to God. It is interesting to note here that by counting the years between Enoch's harpazo and day one of Noah's Flood we can see that he was caught up 531 years prior to the flood. Now while that's a serious amount of years prior to the end of that dispensation, it's all relative because people prior to the flood were on the average living for just under a millennium of years (circa 9 centuries give or take a decade or two). Now Psalm 90:10 tells us we live (on average) for 70 years or 80 years with strength.

The point is the Bride of Christ will be Harpazoed as was Enoch, prior to the wrath of God being poured out. And since Daniel's 70th Week is not relative to the Bride of Christ, but to Israel, we're gone prior to the commencement of those 7 years, and which our Lord said would be inclusive of the lifespan of the generation alive at that time. Given that the prophetic re-birth of Israel (Ezekiel 37) occurred 63 years ago, I would tend to think we're on the tail end of the timelime that's left prior to Daniel's 70th Week commencing.

Has CNN Exposed Walid Shoebat as an ‘Ex-terrorist’ Fraud?

July 16, 2011: This has been a long time in coming, but it’s better late than never. What has prompted this editorial was a recent report by Drew Griffin carried on CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360 program last Wednesday evening entitled “Ex-terrorist’ rakes in homeland security bucks.” Now as most people know, I’m a Conservative Ronald Reagan Christian, and I have no real interest in much of anything CNN has to report. But this report is the exception. The embedded video at this link is a MUST SEE.

The alleged ex-terrorist referred to here is none other than Walid Shoebat. And what is interesting about this piece to me is that the background investigation done by Drew Griffin mirrors exactly what I was told by a former Middle East-based CIA counter-terrorism officer about four years ago. What was stated was that Walid Shoebat was never a PLO terrorist, a low level ‘go fer’ errand boy perhaps, but never a PLO terrorist. Drew Griffin's special report exposes the fraudulent part of Walid Shoebat’s biographical background “story” brilliantly. There is simply no evidence of any kind, not form American, Israeli or even Shoebat’s own family in the West bank which corroborates anything he says about his PLO terrorist past. Again, the video report embedded in the link above is a MUST SEE.

"But CNN reporters in the United States, Israel and the Palestinian territories found no evidence that would support that biography. Neither Shoebat nor his business partner provided any proof of Shoebat’s involvement in terrorism, despite repeated requests.

Back in his hometown of Beit Sahour, outside Bethlehem, relatives say they can’t understand how Shoebat could turn so roundly on his family and his faith.

“I have never heard anything about Walid being a mujahedeen or a terrorist,” said Daood Shoebat, who says he is Walid Shoebat’s fourth cousin. “He claims this for his own personal reasons.”

CNN’s Jerusalem bureau went to great lengths trying to verify Shoebat’s story. The Tel Aviv headquarters of Bank Leumi had no record of a firebombing at its now-demolished Bethlehem branch. Israeli police had no record of the bombing, and the prison where Shoebat says he was held “for a few weeks” for inciting anti-Israel demonstrations says it has no record of him being incarcerated there either."

It has always been a most distressing thing for me to know that the ex-terrorist biography is absolutely the core of Walid Shoebat’s witness as a Christian. A fraudulent witness is something that is diametrically opposed to what being a follower of and believer in Jesus Christ is all about. CNN has reported what I have believed about Walid for these past four years: it’s not about saving souls, it’s about money.

If you really want to know about an ex-terrorist turned to a believing Christian, then I would recommend you look into Mosab Hassan Yousef, a/k/a “Son Of HAMAS.” There’s also some more very relative background material to be seen HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE.

Addendum Update 20 July 2011:

So now we have "Joel Richardson," a self-proclaimed prophet, purportedly riding to Walid's rescue on WorldNetDaily yesterday to "set the record straight." The problem here is that "Joel" showed up with the exact same nonsense that Walid released a couple of days ago on WorldNetDaily. WorldNetDaily makes money selling both Walid's and Joel's books regarding the fanciful and unBiblical Islamic Antichrist theory, hence WNDs stake in not seeing these two writers careers going belly up.

Now, about the Bank Leumi operation (which never actually occurred) upon which the whole weight of Walid Shoebat's claim to have been a PLO terrorist rests. The fact of the matter is that Walid Shoebat is on public record in a report published by the Jerusalem Post on 30 March 2008, and I quote:

"Shoebat's claim to have been a terrorist rests on his account of the purported bombing of Bank Leumi. But after checking its files, the bank said it had no record of an attack on its Bethlehem branch anywhere in the relevant 1977-79 period. Shoebat told The Jerusalem Post that this could be because the bank building was robustly protected with steel and that the attack may have caused little damage. Asked whether word of the bombing made the news at the time, he said, "I don't know. I didn't read the papers because I was in hiding for the next three days." (In 2004, he had told Britain's Sunday Telegraph: "I was terribly relieved when I heard on the news later that evening that no one had been hurt or killed by my bomb.") Shoebat could not immediately recall the year, or even the time of year, of the purported bombing when talking to the Post by phone from the US. After wavering, he finally settled for the summer of 1977."

Elsewhere on the web can be found Walid Shoebat's interviews over a period of time where he states as fact that at six in the evening, on the day of the purported attack on Bank Leumi when he was supposed to detonate a bomb in the doorway of the bank, he saw a group of Arab children playing nearby. Shoebat says his conscience was pricked and he threw the bomb onto the roof of the bank instead, where it exploded causing no fatalities.

"Joel Richardson's" account is as follows, and I quote:

Once again, if Cooper had simply read Eileen Fleming's interview with Kamal Younis, the relative who was trying to discredit Walid, even he admitted that after Walid, got out of prison, he and some friends "put packages behind a bank".

Beyond this, the Shoebat Foundation has found the UN records of the bombing:

Between December 24 and 27, there were two explosions in that area: “Bethlehem (in Manger Square near the Church of the Nativity)” and “Explosive charge went off outside the local Courthouse 27 December 1977 JP. 2 Jan. 1978 Yediot Aharonot, 2 January 1978.

At this point, are we surprised that these records were ignored by CNN?"

No, I'm not surprised at all! I'm not surprised simply because this ridiculous narrative has nothing to do with what Walid Shoebat has long been on the public record detailing the facts of his alleged terrorist attack on Bank Leumi.

It is a plainly obvious no-brainer. Comparing Walid's "rebuttal" of a couple days ago and this Shoebat-approved repeat from "Joel Richardson" with the original narrative statements of Walid Shoebat from yesteryear reveals that the WorldNetDaily articles are nothing more than a concerted and highly sophomoric attempt to change the purported facts and circumstances of Walid Shoebat's long-term story regarding the mythical Bank Leumi attack.

We have these older statements from Walid about the mythical Bank Leumi attack in several media text reports and on video. Walid Shoebat has no alibi here. For him the "I was a PLO terrorist" jig is up. There is no way of dancing around the fact that no such terrorist attack perpetrated by one Walid Shoebat ever occurred, and thus, Walid Shoebat was no PLO terrorist.

The next thing we need to see coming from Walid Shoebat is a confession that this event never occurred. Then he can go about his business as a Christian counter-terrorism speaker without this albatross of a bald-face lie hanging around his neck. He doesn't need this lie to speak about and sell what he is speaking about and selling. Never did need it.

When questioned on this discrepancy, Shoebat was adamant that he did carry out such a bombing, and that his relatives deny it to cover up for another cousin who was with him during the attack and still lives in Bethlehem. 18 May 2011: It's time for a quick change of pace from the usual Eschatology Today fare. I've been hearing a lot about crude oil lately as I've become an avid listener of XM radio during my morning daily commute. For the most part what I've been hearing about crude oil is diametrically opposed to what I have ever thought I knew or was taught (read: was conditioned to believe by the media and other people) about oil. Things like "crude oil is a fossil fuel" and "crude oil is a non-renewable resource." I remember as a kid the local Sinclair Oil Corporation gas station had a big green brontosaurus as its logo, meaning that oil and gasoline came from long ago dead dinosaurs. I remember thinking, "Ah ha, so that's why God put them giant lizards on the earth!" Wrong, kiddo. Not enough years for Dino to die and turn into oil found at depths deep beneath the earth's surface where there are no fossils, neither plants or animals. So, long story short, after doing some due diligence research on the subject I am very strongly inclined to say at this point that all that stuff I thought I knew or learned (again, conditioned to believe) is a bunch of capital-H Hooey.

I could prattle on about what what I found in my research, but since this is just a quick break from our usual menu I'm instead going to copy verbatim for your reading enjoyment and potential increase in knowledge the crux of an article written back on 10 August 2004 by a man named Barry Ashby on the IndustrialHeating.Com website, entitled "Federal Triangle: Petroleum—A Renewable Resource?"

"It seems many geologists are being petty, arguing over facts that have yet to yield answers about crude oil. The mid July 04 Hedberg Conference by American Association of Petroleum Geologists again discussed biogenic versus abiotic origins of hydrocarbons, an interesting and very significant industrial issue. At current rates of world consumption (over 26 billion barrels a year) and with 80% coming from fields discovered before 1973, end of supply is always a concern because proven reserves are only 1,213 billion barrels, 75% of which is in 370 fields worldwide. It is projected that production rates will peak in 2037 unless new reserves are found and sharply decline thereafter.

Then along comes Dr. Thomas Gold, professor emeritus at Cornell and an astronomer no less, who says not to worry. Petroleum is a renewable resource made deep in the earth by inorganic processes (abiotic — an idea first proposed by Russian scientist Mikhail Lomonosov in 1757 who called it “rock oil”) and does not come from piles of dead dinosaurs and fermenting leaves (biogenic). The conventional wisdom of petroleum geologists has been offended and most of them are steamed.

Crude oil is a primordial soup but not of biologic origin, says Dr. Gold, forming under great heat and pressure in the deep biosphere and hydrocarbons we now know are common on planetary bodies. The abiotic theory is that methane, the simplest carbon molecule (CH4) we call natural gas, is formed from carbonate rocks and water at depths of 5 to 20 miles, at pressures of 30 to 45 kilobars (441 to 662 ksi), and temperatures approaching 800˚C (1470˚F). Then the methane condenses into heavier hydrocarbons we call petroleum, collecting in subterranean pools. Most geologists agree so far; you can make oil artificially with these conditions. However the abiotic theory as a natural event is different, supported by these facts:

High oil quantities are found in locations where assays of prehistoric life
are not sufficient to have produced the existing reserve.

Oil produced from varying depths from the same field has the same chemistry
and does not vary as the fossil life changes with depth at these same spots.

Every oil field outgases helium, which does not appear in meaningful
quantity in any other venue, and is a thoroughly stable, inorganic gas that is a
product of radiologic decay of rocks appearing at great depths within the Earth
mantle.

The abiotic theory is rejected by geologists who cite these facts:

Commercial oil fields produce a low content of C-13 isotope in molecules because plant life has available and absorbs the common C-12 isotope;deposits of deep methane have a higher content of the less common (1% of all carbon) C-13 atom. Petroleum deposits occur mainly in horizontal, near-surface reservoirs.

Actually, it may well be that both protagonists for their cause (antagonists if you prefer) have strength in their arguments. It is known that hydrocarbons migrate within the Earth’s crust as witnessed by production at Eugene Island in the Gulf of Mexico 80 miles south of Louisiana. In 1973 when discovered, it produced 15,000 bpd but dwindled to 4,000 bpd by 1989. Inexplicably it resumed output to 13,000 bpd but has confounded geologists because current production is of a significantly different (newer) geologic age than yesteryear. Abiogenic proponents say it is being refilled from beneath the formation and that as oil migrates upward; it is attacked by bacteria that alter its appearance. It is known that such bacteria (hyperthermophiles) live at great depths, recorded in Alaska at 4.2 km and in Sweden at 5.2 km (2.6 and 3.2 miles) below the surface.

There has been a long history of this argument. Mendeleyev, who discovered the Periodic table, said in 1870 the same thing offered in 1962 by Sir Robert Robinson of Britain’s Royal Society that “petroleum is a primordial hydrocarbon to which biological products have been added.” That’s quitesimilar to what Dr. Gold is touting and is of enormous importance due to geopolitics and economic impacts of the highly inelastic supply and demand system existing in the world. If abiotic petroleum formation is true, how much reserve really exists on Earth, and more importantly, is human consumption depleting supply faster than replenishment?"

Oil, like the earth and the entire universe for that matter, was Created by God. And as with all things Created by God there have been really grandiose deceptions foisted upon mankind by Lucifer to deceive us into believing things which quite simply are not true. All manner of things, from A to Z, including natural resources. Lucifer even has used generally nice and trustworthy people relay these untruths to us from a very early age. Think of this the next time you fill 'er up and see red because of the price we sheeple are paying these days to feed our commuter vehicles their life's blood. Fuel for thought.

Reality Check for the Bride of Christ in the Face of Imminent Prophetic Fulfillment

3 July 2011: We, the Bride of Christ, are witnesses to the stage-setting and character introductions of the literal and final fulfillment of 'last days' prophecy. This what I believe we can take away from the seemingly fearful current and imminent future events discussed in the blog item below this one. We MUST use this information as a part of our witness for Christ. I believe the many detailed prophecies have been given us for this very purpose.

Looked at another way, we know about the imminent future events in detail and in advance. How much more of an advantage do we require to win over souls for our Lord? As an example of this type of an advantage, consider how lopsided the final scores of an entire season of football games would be if our team had all of the other team's playbooks? Dare I say such a team would finish the season UNDEFEATED?

This is the situation the Bride of Christ finds itself in right here, right now, today! This is our "reality check" just prior to the standing up of Michael the Archangel to execute his Divinely appointed last days mission.

So, how busy are we in completing our Divinely appointed mission?

About Those Iranian Missile Tests

UPDATE 2: 3 July 2011: An article authored by James Lewis entitled “Obama’s Final Solution” published this morning at AmericanThinker.com will serve readers of this assessment very well as a “big picture” presentation which should leave no doubt, if doubt we possible given the content of the original article and the first update, about the soon-to-be-realized fact that a major Middle Eastern war between Israel and its Arab and Persian enemies is precisely the objective of the current administration occupying the White House. In driving toward this objective the White House is risking anything and everything, including the rampant use of real weapons of mass destruction and the resultant deaths of tens of thousands, in order to achieve the destruction of the State of Israel.

The danger posed to what is left of this Constitutional Republic by this administration’s agenda cannot be emphasized strongly enough. It is up to those real, natural born American patriots in postions of power and responsibility to execute the requirements of their Oath’s to the Constitution; to do all within their ability to preempt this agenda before it is too late. Short of making the ultimate sacrifice as thousands of our soldiers have voluntarily done in the past 9 years, it is now YOU who owe nothing less to the current and succeeding generation of We The People. UPDATE: 2 July 2011: It has come to my attention over the past 24 hours that the series of recent resignations of high Israel government officials were all directly related to the issues addressed in my assessment on the nearly completed Iranian development of nuclear weapons and the ballistic missile systems designed specifically to place those weapons on American and Israeli targets.

Yesterday, the day after my assessment was posted here, FrontPageMag.Com published a key MUST READ article by P. David Hornik entitled “Israel’s Palace War Over Iran” which began with this sentence: “Over the past few months, much of Israel’s top security brass has stepped down—the chief of staff (Gabi Ashkenazi), the head of military intelligence (Amos Yadlin), the head of the Mossad (Meir Dagan), and the head of the Shin Bet or internal security (Yuval Diskin).” I absolutely agree with Mr. Hornik on the real reasons for these resignations: all of the officials were sent packing for their failure to execute their responsibilities in crafting a credible Israeli military response to remove the Iranian nuclear threat should the US and other international powers fail to resolve that issue to the benefit of the entire world.

Mr. Hornik’s article also prominently cited another key MUST READ article confirming the reasons for these resignations by Aluf Benn in his Haaretz-published article (Israel’s defense chiefs failed in deterring Iran). According to Mr. Benn, the above named former Israeli officials “embarked on a foiling action, not against Iran but against” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ehud Barak.

That would be like their American counterparts acting against our president and his secretary of state regarding a coherent deterrent policy on Iranian nuclear development. Interestingly enough, we also have some key resignations going on. And Iran still has their nukes and the missiles with which to deliver them. Hopefully in the future there will be quality historians around to leave a accurate records of these events from which future generations might learn.

30 June 2011: For quite a few years now I’ve watched and kept track of OSINT reports regarding Iran’s development-in-depth of numerous ballistic missile systems. Just for reference sake you can read them HERE, HERE and HERE.

My assessment has always held that there is only one purpose for such development – placing a nuclear warhead onto a distant target. Recently the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) told us point blank what has always been assumed, that being the Iranian warhead’s targets are American military bases and Israeli cities. The difference between my earlier assessments on Iranian nuclear missile capabilities then and now is that now iran can launch these missiles from hardened siloes with little or no warning. Within a day of the IRGC announcement British Foreign Secretary William Hague publicly confirmed the secret nature of the testing as well as the testing in the ongoing “Great Prophet Six” exercises the IRGC is executing.

Have you heard or read anything of a similar nature coming from Foreign Secretary Hague’s American counterpart, SECSTATE Hillary Clinton? How about a word from her boss in the White House? That’s right, you’ve gotten exactly zero, zip, nada from them about this. In fact, you’d be hard pressed to find a single American corporate news article on this subject or Foreign Secretary Hague’s accusations. Instead the White House and the U.S. State Department have been downplaying the accelerating Iranian regime’s progress in the field of precipitating a non-existent al-Mahdi-hastening Armageddon scenario. Yet at her SECSTATE swearing in ceremony Hillary Clinton was keen to lecture those in attendance how “we’re going to have to be smarter about how we do what we must for our country.”

As for Barry Soetoro, his most recent State of the Union address did not have so much as a single mention of the Iranian threat. Iraq, Al Qaeda, Afghanistan, Pakistan and North Korea all merited a mention, but not Iran. My best guess is that he doesn’t see the Iranian threat as a problem in need of fixing. Well, so much for Barry’s defeating “determined enemies wherever they are” comment in that address. I guess Iran is one very real threat that Barry has missed altogether. Would somebody please bring his morning briefer up to speed. Thanks in advance.

Is the Arab Spring setting up for a Winter War?

In a last ditch effort to politically broker a final Arab state called Palestine, U.S. President Barrack Obama showed his Pro-Palestinian trump card. Mosab Hassan Yousef worked as an Israeli agent for about ten years. When I met him, he was a young and wild Palestinian. Over the years, I watched him become one of the most important players in the bloody intelligence game in the West Bank.

Mosab was never a yes-man. He had strong beliefs and character, and he never made any attempt to flatter anyone.

Last week, I read an article by one, Walid Shoebat, who claims to have been a PLO terrorist who bombed Bank Leumi in Bethlehem. Yet, I never heard his name before, never saw his name in any Israeli intelligence files, and there is no record of any such attack.

I found it strange that, while his brothers and sisters are being slaughtered in Syria, Libya, Egypt, and Yemen, Mr. Shoebat’s biggest concern seems to be a year-old television interview. He claims to be a great supporter of Israel, but where was he and what was he doing during the Second Intifada? While Mosab was risking his life day and night, Mr. Shoebat was busy collecting donations with his 800 number.

Mosab Hassan Yousef does not need to prove anything. He has proved it a thousand times over by fighting terror and paying an unreasonably high personal price for his convictions.

As part of my job as an Israeli Shin-Bet agent, I visited many times the Masqubiyeh Prison. Reading Mr. Shoebat’s description of the place, I can only say, Mr. Shoebat, you know nothing of the Masqubiyeh!

Mr. Shoebat is playing a dirty game. As a native Arab speaker, he knows that Arabic is much more than spoken words. In order to understand the meaning of a statement, one must also understand the Arab mentality and culture and the social and political realities.

Mosab’s goal was never to recruit people for the Israeli Shin-Bet. His goal is to build bridges, to help his Palestinian brothers see the truth and understand the meaninglessness and futility of violence. I know this, because we talk about it together almost every single day. How many times have you spoken with Mosab, Mr. Shoebat? Or do you think you know a man’s thoughts and the motives of his heart by listening to a television interview?

Mosab helped Israel more than anyone can believe. This is why the Israeli Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee wrote him a letter of gratitude, perhaps the first of its kind in Israeli history. But somehow Walid Shoebat knows something Israeli officials missed? He knows something members of the U.S. Congress missed? He is smarter than the former director of the CIA, smarter than Jewish leaders in the United States?

I am a trained intelligence officer, with degrees in business, law, and psychology and have extensive experience in the world of lies and deception. I can smell a fraud and recognize a fake hero on the spot. During his service, Mosab never lied to us, and believe me, we had all the tools and the means to find out. Unlike Walid Shoebat, Mosab did not commit fictitious crimes against Israel. And unlike Mr. Shoebat, Mosab served hard time in prison and paid for what he did.

Yes, sometimes he criticizes Israel, like any Israeli, like me. He is no blind follower. He is an intelligent, thoughtful man of conviction and integrity. Mosab Hassan Yousef was a member of a team that risked their lives for Israel, and as such, he earned the right to think independently, criticize the things he believes to be wrong, and support what he believes to right. That is what it means to love Israel, not making speeches and soliciting donations.

Mosab loves the USA but dreams about going back to Israel. I look forward to the moment he will return. My house will also be his, because he is part of our proud family, part of Israel.

The False Teaching of Harold Camping

15 May 2011: There are a whole of lot Christians, followers of the oft repeated false teaching of Harold Camping, who are in for a rude and very embarassing day of awakening in church come Sunday, 22 May, 20011 and the day on Monday morning when they will have to endure the ridicule of the still disbelieving world, from family members to co-workers to perfect strangers. They will have to try to stand tall with their fellow brethren who as much as told them so, but who will be there to lovingly set them back on the correct hermeneutical path of prophetic teaching regarding these last days.

The above billboard about says it all concerning the reason why the day after May 21 will turn out the way it will for these deceived brethren. They have listened and acted upon to the false teaching of Harold Camping when they should have listened to the Holy Spirit as they read the Word of God. All of this could have been avoided. More importantly, the damage inflicted upon the Bride of Christ as a whole and to Good News of His soon coming again could all have been avoided.

The lessons willingly ignored by these Christians was simple as simple can be:

1.) They did not beware themselves of the false prophet Harold Camping (Matthew 7:15).

2.) They failed to heed the words of the Lord Jesus Christ Himself: "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only."(Matthew 24:36)

That's all I have to say about this unfortunate, completely avoidable situation. If necessary, after May 21 has come and gone, I'll be there for those who honestly need assistance coping.

As can be seen historically in the events of of the seven years between 66 and 73 AD where the prophecy of the angel Gabriel to Daniel was literally fulfilled, and how those events became manifest by the actions of men; the armies of Rome and the "kingdoms" of that time, so too were the events of 1948 brought into literal fulfillment by the actions of men, particularly an American military commander by the name of Colonel David Daniel Marcus, a/k/a Aluf Michael Stone, and the returning remnant of Israel from the 1,900 year world-wide diaspora. Through these events we can see that the coming fulfillment of Bible prophecy will be manifest with the military men and equipment who are alive and existent right now. These then are the tools God will use to bring about the Greater Israel that is to exist after the final battle of Psalm 83, the subsequent War of Gog-Magog and on into the the final seven years of Daniel's 70th Week and the return of the Lord Jesus Christ in this generation.

Arguments Against a Muslim Antichrist

Troublesome times, filled with stage setting prophetic signs, have many concerned they live in the last generation. As such, many eschatologists field questions about the Antichrist whose reign of terror dominates the final generation.

Topping the list is the curiosity over his origin. Will he be a Jew, Gentile, Muslim, or perhaps a Supernatural being like the Nepilim in the ancient Days of Noah?

According to the majority consensus of several experts interviewed by Dr. David Reagan of Lamb and Lion Ministries, there doesn’t seem to be a Jewish bone in Antichrist’s body. Their views can be watched here or read in my blog article called “Is the Antichrist, a Jew, Gentile, or Supernatural.”

Additionally, those pondering the supernatural origins of the Antichrist comprise a minority thus far. In fact, the first time I had heard about it was in a radio interview I hosted with end time’s expert and co-founder of Rapture Ready, Terry James. During the Prophecy Update radio program Terry made a compelling argument for a supernatural Antichrist. This fascinating interview took place on November of 2010 and can be heard here.

However, through a process of deductive reasoning, it appears most scholars believe the Antichrist is either a non-Muslim Gentile or a Muslim Gentile. Traditional teaching points to a non-Muslim Gentile Antichrist rising out of the Revived Roman Empire. Advocates of this view point to Daniel 9:26, which says this crazed individual will be a Roman. The prophecy declares the Antichrist will come out of the people who destroyed Jerusalem and the Jewish Temple, an event fulfilled in 70 A.D. by the Roman Empire.

In January 2009 I wrote an article called “Does Daniel Debunk the Assyrian Antichrist.” This article hit a sensitive nerve among those interested in the origin of the Antichrist and prompted 143 blogs, including many from author Joel Richardson of the bestselling book “The Islamic Antichrist.”

Recently, I was asked by Dr. David Reagan to pen my position on several questions related to the Antichrist. One of them was regarded with the potential for a Muslim Antichrist. Some of the best teaching on this controversial subject is written in a transcript entitled, “The Muslim Antichrist Theory and Evaluation” by Dr. David Reagan.

Dr. Reagan's excellent article points out that Islamic eschatology also has an Antichrist called the Dajjal and that similarities between the Islamic Dajjal and biblical Antichrist exist. Muslim Antichrist advocates often use these similarities to argue their point. However, any similarities between the two are inadmissible due to the fact that Islamic scribes had several thousand years of previously recorded biblical prophecy available to them, which enabled them to fabricate the features of the Dajjal.

Summarized below are a few of the reasons I don’t believe the Antichrist will be a Muslim.

To hypothesize the Antichrist could be a Muslim, which is a relatively new paradigm shift in thinking, ignores the prophetic ramifications of Psalm 83, Ezekiel 38, and the first four seal judgments of Revelation 6:1-7. Prophetic insights written in Isralestine, The Ancient Blueprints of the Future Middle East, suggest Psalm 83, and possibly Ezekiel 38, appears to occur before the Antichrist rides in on the world stage as the "white horseman" of the apocalypse in Rev. 6:1.

As pointed out in the Psalm 83 and Ezekiel 38 arguments below, the fulfillment of both prophecies will negatively impact the religion of Islam. Therefore, by the time the Antichrist emerges, Islam should be undergoing a deepening crisis in faith thereby hindering any Muslim's bid for world worship.

The Psalm 83 Argument

Psalm 83 is a confederation of ten predominately Muslim populations that will invade Israel to reclaim Palestine for the Palestinians. They will be decisively defeated by the Israeli Defense Forces as per Ezekiel 25:14, Obadiah 1:18, and elsewhere. This defeat will serve as a severe “punch to the gut” of the Islamic faith. Muslims worldwide will be shocked to witness today’s tiny Israel militarily overpower their present surrounding Arab foes.

The Ezekiel 38 Argument

In the aftermath of the I.D.F. victory of Psalm 83, the predominately Muslim nine-member coalition of invaders of Ezekiel 38:1-6 will make their bid to invade Israel to capture Israeli plunder and booty. We are informed in Ezekiel 38:18 - 39:6 that the invaders will meet their doom via the divine doings of the Lord rather than the I.D.F. The defeat of the Ezekiel invaders will be nothing less than a powerful “uppercut to the jawbone” of Islam.

In the aftermath of these two victories the downward slide of Allah will be observable as Muslims worldwide will become increasingly disenchanted with their Islamic faith. This is already occurring. Fueled by the Internet and social networks, many Mideast Muslim youths are looking beyond the confines of seventh-century Islam and state censored media for a brighter democratic future. Allah’s downward slide partially fulfills the prophecy in Zephaniah 2:11, which foretells the fall of all false gods.

These two Pre-Tribulation prophetic events, Psalm 83 and Ezekiel 38, should assure that Islam is both crippled and compromised by the time the predicted wars of Revelation 6 occur. These apocalyptic wars predict indiscriminate death and destruction worldwide putting Islam well within its sites. As a result, Islam should be “knocked out for the final ten – count” before the midpoint of the seven – year tribulation arrives.

In addition to the objections identified above, 2 Thessalonians 2:4 declares the Antichrist will someday have the audacity to declare himself as god. Such a declaration flies in the face of Islam’s primary tenet that “There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is his prophet or messenger.” According to the prophecy the Antichrist opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

Once the Antichrist fulfills the 2 Thess. 2:4 prophecy a fatwa would certainly be issued to assassinate him if he was a Muslim. When this fact is pointed out to Muslim Antichrist advocates they often point out that Revelation 13:3-4 and Rev. 17:7-11 suggests the Antichrist will die. But, they argue these passages also suggest he will subsequently resurrect to rule the world.

The logical question then arises, "Wouldn't that prompt the issuance of another fatwa against his life?" In order to avoid an unending vicious cycle of fatwa, death, and resurrection they speculate that fatwa’s calling for the Antichrist’s death ultimately cease to be issued. Such a conclusion is difficult to support scripturally. Thus, the 2 Thessalonians argument also opposes the Muslim Antichrist theory.

Furthermore, attempts to identify a Muslim Antichrist often require historical revisionism and sensational newspaper exegesis. Historical revisionism occurs when Muslim Antichrist advocates discount Roman responsibility over the destruction of Jerusalem and the Jewish Temple. They teach Arab conscripts, even though they were subservient under Roman rule, did the dirty work. This argument is highly suspect and easily refuted. (Refer to the blogs here).

Newspaper exegesis occurs by focusing on Islam’s adversarial role in current Mideast events rather than appropriately ordering the Israeli war prophecies described in Psalm 83 and Ezekiel 38. Muslim Antichrist advocates attempt to give Islam longevity by conveniently incorporating these prophecies into the campaign of Armageddon.

It is commonly taught that the final Armageddon battle, whereby the Antichrist and his armies are defeated, occurs during the latter part of the seven-year Tribulation period. Many, including myself, believe the Psalm 83 and Ezekiel 38 prophecies occur independently from, and in advance of, the final Armageddon battle. Therefore as stated above, before Armageddon comes Islam will be “knocked out for the ten – count”

It appears humanity is about to witness the fulfillment of Psalm 83 followed by Ezekiel 38. These two powerful prophetic events should render Islamic eschatology, which has no Godly inspiration apart from that clumsily plagiarized out of the bible, useless. There will be a biblical Antichrist and he may be alive today. But, it is highly doubtful that he will be a Muslim.

Is America to be Judged Prior to Daniel's 70th Week?

Resurrection Day, 24 April 2011: Since virtually all teachers agree that the United States of America is not specifically mentioned in the literal Word of God, then where, pray tell, is the literal judgment and destruction of the United States of America taught by so many of these same prophecy teachers prophetically foretold in His Word?

The prophetic fact-of-the-matter is that such a unique judgment upon the USA is not foretold in the Word of God.

The obvious lack of a specified Divine judgment upon the United States of America is therefore a man-made judgment; an eisegetically-derived judgment. And as such it is an extremely incongruous form of Divine judgment when so many Arab Muslim nations have been actively at war against the reborn Israel and have facilitated Israel's ever increasing terrorization since her re-birth 63 years ago. The judgments coming upon these nations are clearly foretold in numerous chapters written by the numerous Divinely inspired prophets of God -- Asaph (Psalm 83), Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel (Chapters 38/39), just to name a few.

Or how about when applied to the bulk of western nations, particularly of Europe and the Western Hemisphere where modern-day anti-Israel sentiment and its precursor holocaust enabling anti-Semitism were nurtured and have existed for AT LEAST SIX CENTURIES along with abortion-on-demand, homosexual and all manner of other sexual perversions, as well as a civilization-wide turning away from God and the Lord Jesus Christ along with every manifestation of Satanically inspired humanism. All of these sins have been nurtured as inherited by the West as a whole through the absorption of the Babylonian, Persian, Greek and ultimately decadent Roman norms of human civilization.

Yet many teachers tell us that the United States of America is to be uniquely singled out for Divine judgment and destruction prior to Daniel's 70th Week. Is this correct?

No, and on the contrary, I utterly reject such an interpretation notion as this. The last empire mentioned in the Bible is the Roman Empire. Every nation in Europe and the Western Hemisphere is a direct descendent of the Roman Empire and its peoples.

So the fact that the US is not specifically mentioned in the Bible is meaningless in my view. The US is in the Bible, but under a different point of reference. Is nuclear-armed France mentioned in the Bible? How about nuclear-armed United Kingdom? Spain? Portugal? Canada? Brazil? Any of them?

No. Not one is mentioned.

But what is symbolically mentioned are the "iron and clay" ten toes of Nebuchadnezzar's dream statue given to to the prophet Daniel by God in a night vision. Those toes are the representation of the descendent nations of the Roman Empire. Moreover, what is symbolically represented by the prophet Ezekiel are the Western seafaring nations of commerce referred to as Tarshish and "all their young lions" (former colonies).

I do not believe the US is going to be uniquely judged and destroyed. I believe that those Bible eschatologists who've been teaching that the US is doomed to destruction are in error and have completely missed a key prophetic point.

I believe the US will be an integral, if not indispensible, part of the Beast Empire, and NATO will be the overwhelming army of the Beast. Without the incredible military power of the US the military power of NATO is nothing special. No nation on the earth has the military command and control (C2) capabilities, much less the command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, sensors and reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities that the US possesses. Zippo, nada, none. We're forward deployed on bases in dozens of countries all over the planet, our residual combat power is peerless, and we're actively fighting wars or low intensity conflicts simultaneously in several places hundreds to thousands of miles distant at this very moment. This is the kind of military power that will manifest itself in the literal fulfillment of this key prophecy during Daniel's 70th Week:

Daniel 11:40-44

"At the time of the end the king of the South shall attack him; and the king of the North shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter the countries, overwhelm them, and pass through. He shall also enter the Glorious Land, and many countries shall be overthrown; but these shall escape from his hand: Edom, Moab, and the prominent people of Ammon. He shall stretch out his hand against the countries, and the land of Egypt shall not escape. He shall have power over the treasures of gold and silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt; also the Libyans and Ethiopians shall follow at his heels. But news from the east and the north shall trouble him; therefore he shall go out with great fury to destroy and annihilate many."

That's a whole lot of conquering. It is conquest on a truly global scale. And it all happens within a very short span of time.

Therefore, I believe the United States of America will be judged when all of the other nations of the beast empire are judged at the appointed time as God Almighty informed the prophet Daniel in a night vision.

The time of the coming judgment of these nations of the beast empire is found in Daniel 2:28a (emphasis added):

"But there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days.

The judgment itself is foretold in Daniel 2:31-35

“You, O king, were watching; and behold, a great image! This great image, whose splendor was excellent, stood before you; and its form was awesome. This image’s head was of fine gold, its chest and arms of silver, its belly and thighs of bronze, its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of clay. You watched while a stone was cut out without hands, which struck the image on its feet of iron and clay, and broke them in pieces. Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were crushed together, and became like chaff from the summer threshing floors; the wind carried them away so that no trace of them was found. And the stone that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.

... along with the God-given interpretation in Daniel 2, verses 36 through 45:

“This is the dream. Now we will tell the interpretation of it before the king. You, O king, are a king of kings. For the God of heaven has given you a kingdom, power, strength, and glory; and wherever the children of men dwell, or the beasts of the field and the birds of the heaven, He has given them into your hand, and has made you ruler over them all—you are this head of gold. But after you shall arise another kingdom inferior to yours; then another, a third kingdom of bronze, which shall rule over all the earth. And the fourth kingdom shall be as strong as iron, inasmuch as iron breaks in pieces and shatters everything; and like iron that crushes, that kingdom will break in pieces and crush all the others. Whereas you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it, just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay. And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile. As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay. And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever. Inasmuch as you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold—the great God has made known to the king what will come to pass after this. The dream is certain, and its interpretation is sure.”

This is the judgment upon the nations at the conclusion of Daniel's 70th Week by none other than the Lord Jesus Christ Himself.

This prophecy of judgment upon the nations is repeated in even greater detail in The Revelation of Jesus Christ, chapters 18 and 19. The source of this prophecy is the same as that given to Daniel... Almighty God.

Read the words of this prophecy and be blessed as declared in Revelation 1:1-3, and pay heed that no one add to or take away from these words per the explicit warning of Revelation 22:18-19.

January 5, 2011 – Shiite Muslim Cleric Muqtada Al-Sadr came out of self-imposed exile in Iran to team up with pro-Iranian Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki in Iraq. In a slap to America’s face, Iraq is now closer to becoming an Iranian proxy state than ever before. Although Iran (Persia) is prominent in Ezekiel 38:5, Iraq seems to appear in the Psalm 83 prophecy along with Syria under the banner of “Assyria.” (Ps. 83:8)

January 13, 2011 – Secretary General of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah convinces 11 Lebanese cabinet members to resign, collapsing the government of Lebanon. Hezbollah shows up in Psalm 83:7 as the stateless “Inhabitants of Tyre.”

January 15, 2011 – Tunisians protest the 23 year rule of Arab dictator Zine El Bidine Ben Ali causing him to step down from his presidential post. This represented the first time in history that an Arab dictator was overthrown by popular revolt. The consensus amongst many end time’s experts is that Tunisia enlists with Russia under the banner of "Put" in Ezekiel 38:5

February 11, 2011- Egyptians crowd Tahrir square for 18 days provoking Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak to relinquish his 30 year reign. Interestingly, the Egyptians are still protesting. However, now they want chief military leader Mohamed Hussein Tantawi to step down. Recently, Egyptian protesters crowded around the Israeli embassy promoting the “May 15th Million Man Arab March” against Israel. The goal of this March is to bring hundreds of thousands of Palestinian Refugees from the surrounding Arab communities to the borders of Israel.

All of the activity in Egypt hints of the soon fulfillment of Isaiah 19:1-4, which predicts Egyptian unrest will lead to regional conflicts and ultimately a cruel master over Egypt. The Palestinian march could find association with those forced to the border of Israel in Obadiah 1:7. Additionally, Egypt shows up in Psalm 83:6 as the descendants of Hagar under the banner of the Hagarenes or Hagrites in some bible translations, and the Palestinian refugees as the stateless “tents of Edom.”

February 11, 2011 – Algerians and Yemenis begin independent protests. Many expositors believe Algeria participates in the Ezekiel 38 & 39 invasion of Israel as part of the "Put" delegation. Conversely, the Yemenis show up in Ezekiel 38:13 objecting to Russia's invasion plans under the banner of Sheba.

February 11, 2011 – King Abdullah II of Jordan sacks his cabinet to sway off a popular revolution against his ruling Hashemite Kingdom minority.

February 13, 2011 – King Abdullah II engages in the first round of a series of meetings with members of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB). The MB is pro-Palestinian and Anti-Israel. Additionally, they support Jihad against the Jewish State. Jordan appears in Psalm 83:6-8 as the Ammonites, Moabites, Edomites, and children of Lot.

February 15, 2011 – To the extreme displeasure of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, rebels protest his 40+ year rule and call for his ouster. Shortly thereafter, civil war breaks out between the rebels and Gaddafi supporters. At the time of the issuance of this article, Gaddafi is still ruling the country. Libya is listed among the Ezekiel 38 invaders.

March 18, 2011 – Libya’s civil war drags France, Britain, and the USA into the fighting by implementing a “No-Fly” Zone over Libyan airspace.

March 25, 2011 – Saudi Arabia annexes Bahrain as a 14th province under the jurisdiction of Riyadh in order to protect the ruling Sunni minority from violent protests emanating out from the Shiite majority. This move ruffles Iranian and Iraqi feathers and forces Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to combine forces and deploy 11,000 troops and numerous tanks into Bahrain.

Saudi Arabia shows up in Psalm 83:6 as the “Ishmaelites” and as a protester alongside Yemen against the Ezekiel invaders. They are listed as Dedan in Ezekiel 38:13. The fate of this pending face off over Bahrain between Iran and Saudi Arabia remains unknown at the time of this article.

March 29, 2011 – Syrian protesters flood the streets of many Syrian towns calling for radical reforms in the Alawite led government of Bashar Assad. Due to state censored media it is difficult to know how bloody the protests have been. However, numerous reports suggest that many protesters have died and / or been injured and Syrian soldiers have been killed for disobeying orders to shoot the protesters. As mentioned earlier, Syria and at least northern Iraq seem to be listed in Psalm 83:8 as the “Assyrians.”

Meanwhile, Israel has become increasingly insecure and isolated as a result of all the protests and renewed rocket assaults out of Gaza from the Hamas. Hamas, is identified in Psalm 83:7 as Philistia. This renewed violence has prompted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to recently visit Germany to procure a sixth “Dolphin Class Submarine.” These subs can support a nuclear payload and Israel presently has three in operation, two coming soon, and hopefully a sixth a few years down the road.

Additionally, Israel has deployed their Iron Dome Defense System, which has intercepted 8 out of the 8 rockets aimed within its vicinity as of April 9, 2011. According to the “Israel Project,” which monitors the number of Hamas rocket assaults, Hamas has fired 315 rockets into Israel as of April 10, 2011. This eclipses the 238 rockets lobbed into Israel in 2010 and has many Israelis concerned its “Operation Cast Lead” all over again.

Due to all the events above, the department of Homeland Security has raised the terror threat level to orange (high), which is its highest level since the twin towers were toppled on September 11, 2001.**

Additionally, due to increased oil prices, Americans are again experiencing pain at the pump. In 2009 the average price per barrel of crude oil was $53.48. In 2010 a barrel of crude averaged $71.21. Already in 2011 a barrel of crude oil has cost $108.00, prompting many economic analysts to project a summer spike of $150.00 per barrel. Many believe the cost per gallon of gasoline will soon surpass the $5.00 mark.

While the world is struggling to remedy its global financial crisis, Mideast unrest is threatening to turn world economies into a tailspin. Liberal pundits believe the protest will result in Arab democracies popping up in the affected areas; however the irony is that all of these populations surface in the end time war prophecies of Psalm 83 and Ezekiel 38. Therefore, we can logically conclude that when the Mideast dust settles, the Israeli war prophecies will begin.

I’m watching for the fulfillment of Psalm 83 first followed shortly thereafter by the Ezekiel 38 invasion. Both of these prophecies could occur between now and anytime real soon and likely during this present generation.

The False Teaching of Walid Shoebat

3 April 2011: On 29 March I received a link to a YouTube video recorded in 2008 entitled Walid Shoebat – Mark of the Beast. Anyone familiar with this blog knows that I consider Walid Shoebat to be one of the most infamously eisegetical of all current Bible prophecy expositors. The YouTube link of Shoebat’s nauseating and unhinged eisegesis is included here only for the purpose of providing a direct reference to Eschatology Today’s readers; otherwise this kind of eisegesis should be avoided as if it were the plague.

It is specifically Shoebat’s patently ridiculous declaration within this video that the original Greek manuscript of the Revelation of Jesus Christ, Chapter 13 Verse 18, was not written in Greek, but in the Arabic language, and that the number of the Antichrist’s name has the meaning of, “In the name of allah” that will be proven to be false teaching. In making his assertions I believe Walid Shoebat, and those who support, defend and reiterate his false teaching on this subject matter, have firmly walked themselves directly into the most foreboding of all of the Lord’s promises regarding the adding to and taking away of the literal Word of God in The Revelation of Jesus Christ:

Revelation 22:18-19

“For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”

To begin with, here is the plain, English-language translated (per the King James and New King James Versions) from the original Greek-language verse which is the crux of the matter:

“Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is (Chi Xi Stigma) Six hundred three score and six, 666.”

Let’s go to the YouTube video tape, and this verbatim transcript of what was stated as fact by Walid Shoebat:

Joe Van Koevering: “It’s Chi, Xi and Stigma…”

Shoebat: “Yes…

Joe Van Koevering: “…in the original language.”

Shoebat: “Yes, that’s what they think it is. They didn’t know [what] these symbols - were. So, they thought they were Greek symbols. Then they began to evolve into, let’s see, what these symbols really mean. Why would there be three Greek symbols into the text? Why would God put three Greek symbols into the text as a mystery? Well, God is not an author of mysteries, by the way, His yoke is easy.

What they thought were symbols were in reality a different script than even the Greek. God is not interested in gematria! Gematria is the process of adding numerals regarding names. … Gematria is a process that was used in witchcraft; God is not interested in this gematria stuff, okay?

So, this devolved and then the translations started to put down six, six, six because they thought it was about the gematria. But if you look at the Codex Siniaticus, it’s a different codexes, they don’t have six six six, they got these symbols! Some even translated these symbols as six sixteen! But it’s not!. When I first saw the Codex Vaticanus (checks his on-stage notes), I was literally shocked. Because I could read the text! It was Arabic!”

Walid Shoebat goes on to eisegete how the original “Chi, Xi Stigma” text, six hundred three score and six was not written in the Greek language but in the Arabic language, and that the literal meaning of the Arabic text is “in the name of allah.”

What abject nonsense this is!

To begin with, it was in 1844 that the 4^th century Codex Sinaiticus manuscript was discovered by Constantine Tischendorf on Mount Sinai within St. Catharine’s Monastery. The Codex Sinaiticus is not written in “symbols,” it is written in the uncial characters of the Greek language, and comprised a sum total of forty-three leaves of the Septuagint. Those Greek-language leaves of text were just portions of Chronicles, Nehemiah, Jeremiah, Isaiah, I and II Maccabees, Esther and two fragments of Genesis. The Revelation of Jesus Christ was not part of this codex manuscript.

Unical Greek Letter Characters

Secondly, the Codex Vaticanus, so named because it is kept in the Vatican Library, and also referred to as the Codex Vaticanus, is also a 4^th century manuscript written on fine parchment in the uncial characters of the Greek language. The Codex Vaticanus also does not contain the Revelation of Jesus Christ (a/k/a The Apocalypse). Sometime during the 15^th to 16^th centuries the missing books and portions of books of both the Old and New Testaments were added to the codex so that it might be used in the Vatican Library.

In all of the past two thousand-some odd years and of all the innumerable, highly learned Bible scholars who have ever studied this passage, here in the first decade of the 21^st century we have the appearance of one Walid Shoebat trying to impress upon us the truth that he alone possesses the wisdom necessary to understand this verse because it is, “in reality” written in Arabic. If only Shoebat were a standup comedian this would have some inherent and monumental humorous value. However, given the true reality of the situation, there is precisely as much veracity in Shoebat’s assertions on this issue are there are in his longstanding and highly disputed claim to be a former PLO terrorist. According to a former CIA chief-of-station in the Middle East I know, Shoebat was no PLO terrorist; a low-level go-fer, yes, but he was never, ever an operational PLO terrorist.

So, the plain text of this verse, which is identical in every language in the world to which it was translated from the original Greek, the Lord informs us of three prophetically important things:

1.) Calculate the number of the beast

2.) It is the number of a man

3.) The number is six hundred sixty six (666)

None of this has anything whatsoever to do with the false, satanically deceptive cult of islam, or of its false-god “allah.”

When it comes to the wisdom of understanding this verse, I reference the reader to 1 Corinthians 2:14, which teaches us, “But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” In this is the foolishness of Walid Shoebat exposed, for nothing he has said has come from the Spirit. It has, in fact, come from within his own fanciful mind as yet another feeble, snake oil salesman’s attempt to further the thoroughly discredited Islamic Antichrist eisegesis.

The Libyan War

27 March 2011: Prior to United Nations sanctioned military action by the West (EU, US, CAN) the Western media was prompt to report to our population the urgent calls from the fighters and civilians on the ground opposing Qaddafi and the Arab League for our intervention; to save the Libyan people from Qaddafi’s genocide.

Who started this war in Libya, and under what ideological banner?

Could it be the same group of Islamic agitators as exists elsewhere in the world – Islamic fundamentalists? The al-Ikhwan al-Muslimun. The Muslim Brotherhood. This is same group and Islamist ideology the socialist left in the West loves to promote as a cause célèbre. Freedom fighters and defenders of the common Muslim men, women and children against the anti-democratic despots and their totalitarian regimes supported by the West to the tune of billions of dollars for decades. The corporate media in the US have even gone so far as to heap praise and hero worship upon the anti-Qaddafi fighters, including suicide and IED bombers identical to those repeatedly attacking major Western cities such as Jerusalem, Madrid, Paris, London, New York City and Washington, D.C. This is the same ideology as is being opposed by our nation’s finest heroes and our dwindling treasury in Afghanistan and Iraq for the better part of the past 10 years, and was completely unopposed in any meaningful way going back to the first WTC bombing in 1993.

So we find ourselves intervening in an illegal, undeclared war in Libya, characterized by our national leadership as a “kinetic military action,” for the purpose of preventing genocide against the same Islamic “freedom fighters” as we have fought against all this time in Afghanistan and Iraq. Tell me, why are our armed forces responding to the Libyan civil war? Does not the Arab League possess enough military hardware, fighting men and treasury to oppose Qaddafi as they have consistently done against the State of Israel for the past 63 years? Why do the Arab Muslims need our military forces to do their dirty work? We’re told by our national leadership that our efforts in Libya will ultimate result in democracy coming to the Libyan people. Really? Do they mean the same kind of democracy that came to the Gaza Strip or Lebanon?

There is enough information in this brief article to wake up all but the most comatose, consciousness-suspended or gleefully misinformed among us regarding the reality of the situation. In case you’re still unsure about that which I write, allow me to be as blunt as Diana West has been: Our military forces have joined the Islamic Jihad. So how does it feel to be the Global Jihad’s rent-a-cop?

24 March 2010: President Obama fully and intentionally skirted the U.S. Constitution in illegally ordering the Pentagon to commence acts of war against Libya. In light of this fact President Obama’s orders to the U.S. military to execute these attacks in Libya constitutes an illegal order under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ).

Members of the US Armed Forces who obey illegal orders are subject to criminal prosecution.

Per the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ):

Section 16c(1)(c): Lawfulness. A general order or regulation is lawful unless it is contrary to the Constitution, the laws of the United States, or lawful superior orders or for some other reason is beyond the authority of the official issuing it.

Section 14c(2)(a)(i): Inference of lawfulness. A order requiring the performance of a military duty or act may be inferred to be lawful and it is disobeyed at the peril of the subordinate. This inference does not apply to a patently illegal order, such as one that directs the commission of a crime.

Such illegal orders are a crime as in war crime, an international war crime at that. These illegal orders can apply as war crimes in the International Court of Justice subjecting every member of the US Armed Forces, from the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff down to the lowest ranking service member who carried out these orders, to trial and punishment outside of any American jurisdiction.

The UCMJ allows for the disobedience of illegal orders because such orders constitute a crime, or be part of a criminal conspiracy, either under military, civilian or international law.

I urge both Republican and Democrat members of our House of Representatives and Senate to immediately begin impeachment proceedings against President Barack Hussein Obama II and to immediately direct our National Military Command Authority to halt all military operations against Libya.

Revived Rome Flexes Its Military Might

19 March 2011: And so it begins. With the approval and acquiescence of the world governing body, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) adopted Resolution 1973 as its casus belli for the enforcement of UNSC Resolution 1970.

Within 48 hours of the adoption of this resolution the emergent superpower of Bible prophecy, the European Union, took the lead in declaring a de facto state of war exists against an Islamic sovereign state in the throes of a civil war. Today, for the first time, the armed forces of the European Union went to war against the government of Libya.

And where is America, formerly the military superpower and leader of the so-called free world? In a supporting role! And the apparent leader of the European Union's first military adventure outside of Europe's borders - the French-Hungarian/Greek-Jewish President of France, Nicholas Paul Stephane Sarkozy de Nagy-Bosca.

I believe we are all witnesses to a benchmark event of profound eschatological implications and from which there will be no turning back. September 11, 2001 was a day that changed America forever. March 19, 2011, eight years to the day from the start of the American-led conquest of Saddam Hussein's Ba'athist Iraq, is a day that will prove to be one which changes our world forever.

Update: The NATO base in Naples, Italy, AFSOUTH or Armed Forces South, is the headquarters of this European-led military operation in Libya, and the primary British aviation contribution will be controlled from the Joint Forces Air Component (JFAC) located at Akrotiri, Cyprus. The United Arab Emirates and Qatar have pledged approximately 30 combat aircraft to be placed under European command. The name given to the war against the Libyan regime is "Operation Odyssey Dawn."

All war is based upon deception, and this war will be no exception. The truth behind this war is going to be defended by a bodyguard of lies. So I guess it goes without saying that the lies are being told in advance. One such lie is, "no ground troops." There will have to be boots on the ground in Libya; it is unavoidable in order to ensure the ill-defined mission objectives that do exist are met.

Former USGS Geologist Jim Berkland Predicts Major Quake for North America Next Week

17 March 2011: On Monday, 14 March, Neil Cavuto's program on FoxBusiness aired a special report A Major Earthquake in North America Imminent? (must see video at the link) which focused on the very specific prediction of a former USGS geologist Jim Berkland and his scientific reason for it.

NEIL CAVUTO, HOST: Boy oh, boy, just what Japan does not need. An imminent earthquake warning just issued for several regions of the country. On edge there, on edge here, because it really didn't start with Japan. Take a look at what experts are increasingly calling the so-called ring of fire that is encircling the entire Pacific Ocean. You remember Chile's massive earthquake about a year ago. Then we had that big one in New Zealand just last month. Then of course Japan.

If this clockwise trend continues, my next guest says North America looks to be on tap next. Don't laugh. Geologist Jim Berkland is worried. When he worries, you should worry too. Jim accurately predicted, get this, the 1989 so-called World Series earthquake four days before it shook the San Francisco Bay Area. And Jim says this month is of particular concern. Why, Jim?

JIM BERKLAND, GEOLOGIST: The month of October, March, and April are the three most devastating earthquakes in terms of damage in the San Francisco Bay Area in history. And we are having on the 19th of this month not only the full moon, but within an hour the closest approach of the moon to the earth until the year 2016. The next day is the equinoctial tides. So you're bringing together three of the maximum tide raising forces. We know about the ocean tides. But there is also an Earth tide. And there is a tide in the ground water. All of these help to release sudden, built up strain, and cause earthquakes.

CAVUTO: But that would seem to imply that we could be looking at a very imminent event in the United States within the next week or two? Is that right?

BERKLAND: Yes. My -- what I call a seismic window, this top seismic window in years is developing between the 19th and 26th of this month. And this was 7.0 monster and it says geologist had warned about it. And a week earlier, the they were talking about the tides, not to worry about the really tides coming up. I think there is worry here too.

CAVUTO: So let me just understand. You're a genius. I'm not. I want to follow your fine brain on this.

BERKLAND: Not a genius.

CAVUTO: What you're saying is that there is certain order to this, even though it doesn't appear like order? For a lot of folks, it just seems like random events. But you're saying there is a process unfolding here? For California --

BERKLAND: Absolutely.

CAVUTO: California, Oregon or whatever, would that mean? What type of quake or disturbance or disruption would that be?

BERKLAND: Well, if it was, one in the northwest, in the Cascadia Trench, like we had in 1700, that would be a nine magnitude quake. I'm not predicting that. But I'm saying we just had a massive fish kill. Maybe a million fish died in Redondo Beach. They had a massive fish sweep in Mexico. We just had a bunch of whales come in close to San Diego.

CAVUTO: What does that presage? When you have events like that, what does that generally mean? What's going on in the waters?

BERKLAND: Changes -- changes in the magnetic field that off then precede larger earthquakes. Most animals have the mineral magnetite in their bodies, including people. But it causes homing pigeons to enable them to get home. Just before big quakes, they often can't get home. There is the delay factor. So we look for those kinds of things.

Just before the World Series quake there was very unusual beaching of rare whales in the Ocean Beach, in San Francisco. Just after that, a equally rare pigmy sperm whale washed up at Santa Cruz, within about five miles of the epicenter of the World Series quake. That kind of beaching had never occurred before nor since. So we're looking for strange fish coming into from deepwater to the shallow water, wild animals coming into cities.

I used to just scoff at these kinds of things, because I was a mainstream geologist until I found out that earthquakes are fitting a pattern. The big earthquake in the Indian Ocean followed massive beachings of whales in Taiwan -- not Taiwan, but New Zealand and Australia and Tasmania. And then within couple of days, they had a 8.3 in south of New Zealand, and then came the 9.1 in the Indian Ocean, with the big tsunami, on the very day of the fool moon.

CAVUTO: Wow.

BERKLAND: The previous big quake and tsunami was in Alaska, which is a 9.2 magnitude event, on the day off the full moon, on the 27th of March.

CAVUTO: Jim, bottom line, we have a lot to watch. Believe me, you're track record compels us to watch it. Jim, thank you very much. I hope you're wrong, buddy. I really hope your wrong but your record --

BERKLAND: Especially at this time, world history, not good.

The Islamic War: Sunni versus Shiite

15 March 2011: It appears as though the Sunni Arab regimes of the Arabian Peninsula and the Persian Gulf region have drawn a circle in the sand around the militarily expansionist plans of the Islamic Republic of Iran in a manner akin to that when the Consul of the Roman Republic, Gaius Popilius Laenas, drew a circle in the sand around the feet of the Seleucid Empire’s King Antiochus IV Epiphanes regarding his planned conquest of Ptolemaic Egypt and Cyprus about 2,180 years ago.

First, a brief look at history and prophetic fulfillment.

When the prototype of the coming Antichrist, Antiochus IV Epiphanes, arrived with his military forces outside the city of Alexandria he was met by Consul Laenas. Antiochus reached out with his hand in friendship, but instead of Laenas’ hand in reciprocity he received instead an ultimatum from the Roman Senate demanding his immediate withdrawal from Egypt and Cyprus. This ultimatum contained the stipulation that anything short of immediate and unconditional compliance would place the Seleucid Empire in a state of war with the Roman Republic. Antiochus attempted to play for time, saying he would consult his staff about the ultimatum, whereupon Laenas then took a staff and drew a complete circle in the sand around his feet and demanded, “Before you step out of this circle I will have your reply to the Senate.”

This monumentally historic event in the history of the ancient world, where Rome directly confronted the prototype Antichrist, was a literal precursor fulfillment of Daniel 11:30, “For the ships of Kittim shall come against him: therefore he shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant: so shall he do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that forsake the holy covenant,” just as this fulfillment led directly to the precursor fulfillment of the Abomination of Desolation, and all of the other barbarous acts as discussed in the useful but not divinely inspired apocryphal book, 2 Maccabees, chapters 5 and 6.

In the above passage from Daniel, Roman Consul Laenas is represented as “the ships of Kittim” according to the Vulgate (Latin) translation of the original Hebrew text.

"et venient super eum trieres et Romani et percutietur et revertetur et indignabitur contra testamentum sanctuarii et faciet reverteturque et cogitabit adversum eos qui dereliquerunt testamentum sanctuarii"
"And the galleys and the Romans shall come upon him, and he shall be struck, and shall return, and shall have indignation against the covenant of the sanctuary, and he shall succeed: and he shall return, and shall devise against them that have forsaken the covenant of the sanctuary."

Kittim was a son of Javan, grandson of Japheth and great-grandson of Noah.

Back to the present era.

It would seem that the pro-Western regime (majority Sunni Muslims) in Lebanon understood the intentions of the Islamic Republic of Iran though its Hezbollah proxy, a military entity directly related to the IRCG, and decided to allow the United Nation determine culpability for the assassination of its former president, Rafik Hariri and couple of dozen other people. It’s interesting to note that Lebanon did not turn to the Arab League or neighboring majority Sunni Islamic states to offer their support for its sovereignty. Not only did the Sunni Arab regimes fail to act, but so has the United Nations (read: global governance) thus far. This failure of Sunni Muslim cohesion and the UN’s powerlessness did not go un-noticed by the apocalyptic-minded Shi’a regime in Iran and they exploited it fully to the point that Lebanon has now become a de facto Iranian client state through Hezbollah’s military prowess.

Then, as the wave of Sunni Arab protests swept into the heart of the Middle East from North Africa, many of which the Iranian regime has claimed credit for, a paradigm shift occurred within the Sunni-led regimes of the Arabian Peninsula that has been driven as much by fear and the need for self-preservation as it is by the ages old Sunni-Shi’a schism within Islam.

Gone are the days of proxy warfare primarily between Iran and Saudi Arabia as evidenced in Iraq between Sunni and Shiite, or direct, albeit somewhat covert, Saudi military intervention in the Iranian backed Shiite insurgency in Yemen. Now as the very real specter of Iranian expansion directly threatens Sunni rule in the Arabian Peninsula, a line has been drawn in the sand, and that line encircles the tiny nation-state of Bahrain.

Within the past day Saudi Arabian military forces, accompanied by the military forces of Kuwait and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations, have made great spectacle in deploying significant numbers of their armored vehicles and combat troops into Bahrain at that government’s request to forcibly put down an insurrection of Iranian-inspired Shi’a Muslims. Iran’s reaction to this deployment makes the unambiguous threat of war against the Saudi’s and GCC nations all too real.

The Iranian foreign ministry, as if they have a say in the affairs of another sovereign state, has declared the Bahrani government’s request “illegal.” The Iranian parliament also branded Saudi Arabian regime of King Abdullah as “illegitimate” and the deployment of his troops as being “interference” in Bahrain’s internal affairs which would have “dangerous consequences.” This is far more than just a case of Islamic hypocrisy with the Iranian pot calling the Saudi kettle black; “them's fightin’ words” in any culture.

My curiosity now is piqued in wondering if the escalation of this new inter-Islamic crisis might lead to the fulfillment of Jeremiah 49:34-39. Only time will tell how this plays out, yet it will be very interesting to watch closely nonetheless; the whole of the Middle East is a boiling cauldron setting the conditions under which Biblical prophecy will continue to fulfill literally before our eyes.

The Unprecedented Disaster in Japan

12 March 2011: Much has occured in a little over the past 24 hours, and much remains yet to occur. The full extent of what occured within the earth's crust east of Japan remains unknown. That being the fact-of-the matter, I thought it might be a good idea to provide you dear readers with the most informative information available, at least that which I have seen thus far, and which is not exactly that which the mainstream media is reporting thus far.

Firstly, my own opinion on these issues derives from, as discussed in the previous article, the Lord's Olivet Discourse. Such major events of increasing magnitude and frequency are the result of the Lord's created physical laws coming into conflict with other of his created physical laws which have been knocked totally out of kilter due to the sins of mankind. Mankind is reaping what our distant ancestors sowed and continue to sow. But it's not always judgment from God, but rather a physical manifestation of sin.

Jesus knew such events would occur in this season and that's why he prophetically warned about them in the Olivet Discourse. These are but birth pangs of His Glorious Kingdom to come.

That said, here is the information I've received this far.

The powerful earthquake that unleashed a devastating tsunami Friday appears to have moved the main island of Japan by 8 feet (2.4 meters) and shifted the Earth on its axis. "At this point, we know that one GPS station moved (8 feet), and we have seen a map from GSI (Geospatial Information Authority) in Japan showing the pattern of shift over a large area is consistent with about that much shift of the land mass," said Kenneth Hudnut, a geophysicist with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). Reports from the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology in Italy estimated the 8.9-magnitude quake shifted the planet on its axis by nearly 4 inches (10 centimeters).

The temblor, which struck Friday afternoon near the east coast of Japan, killed hundreds of people, caused the formation of 30-foot walls of water that swept across rice fields, engulfed entire towns, dragged houses onto highways, and tossed cars and boats like toys. Some waves reached six miles (10 kilometers) inland in Miyagi Prefecture on Japan's east coast. The quake was the most powerful to hit the island nation in recorded history and the tsunami it unleashed traveled across the Pacific Ocean, triggering tsunami warnings and alerts for 50 countries and territories as far away as the western coasts of Canada, the U.S. and Chile. The quake triggered more than 160 aftershocks in the first 24 hours -- 141 measuring 5.0-magnitude or more.

The quake occurred as the Earth's crust ruptured along an area about 250 miles (400 kilometers) long by 100 miles (160 kilometers) wide, as tectonic plates slipped more than 18 meters, said Shengzao Chen, a USGS geophysicist. Japan is located along the Pacific "ring of fire," an area of high seismic and volcanic activity stretching from New Zealand in the South Pacific up through Japan, across to Alaska and down the west coasts of North and South America. The quake was "hundreds of times larger" than the 2010 quake that ravaged Haiti, said Jim Gaherty of the LaMont-Doherty Earth Observatory at Columbia University. The Japanese quake was of similar strength to the 2004 earthquake in Indonesia that triggered a tsunami that killed over 200,000 people in more than a dozen countries around the Indian Ocean. "The tsunami that it sent out was roughly comparable in terms of size," Gaherty said. "[The 2004 tsunami] happened to hit some regions that were not very prepared for tsunamis
... we didn't really have a very sophisticated tsunami warning system in the Indian Ocean basin at the time so the damage was significantly worse."

The Japanese quake comes just weeks after a 6.3-magnitude earthquake struck Christchurch on February 22, toppling historic buildings and killing more than 150 people. The timeframe of the two quakes have raised questions whether the two incidents are related, but experts say the distance between the two incidents makes that unlikely. "I would think the connection is very slim," said Prof. Stephan Grilli, ocean engineering professor at the University of Rhode Island.

The Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant located in Okuma, Japan was critically damaged in yesterday's tectonic collapse. An explosion, most likely due to the extreme pressures building inside the plant's infrastructure since the earthquake, resulted this morning and appears to have blown apart the protective containment structure built around the reactor. This earthquake damage has resulted in the nuclear meltdown of at least one reactor core. Therefore, in additon to all of the massive destruction along the east coast of Japan, the nation and this region of northeast Asia now also has a major nuclear catastrophe to contend with. It reamains to be seen if this disaster is on a scale of the 1986 Chernobyl catastrophe or worse, but all who live within 12-miles of the plant have been mandatorily evacuated from their homes.

The Olivet Discourse, The Fig Tree and A Generation

06 March 2011: This post is being made just case my exegetical view on this subject has not been made clear previously.

God Incarnate, our Lord Jesus Christ, spoke an inerrant prophecy in Matthew 24:32-35, which was repeated by Mark 13:28-3 and by Luke 21:29-33, which shall be fulfilled as inerrantly as it was spoken. (Emphasis added)

"Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors! Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away."

This inerrant prophecy was exclusively for and about a single future generation of Jews living in Eretz Israel.

According to Matthew 23:13-16, a template of the prophecy of Daniel's 70th Week (Daniel 9:24-27) was fulfilled with respect to a single generation of Jews who experienced those events over a period of 7 literal years between 66 and 73 AD.

The future generation of Jews of whom God Incarnate prophecied is alive and living in the State of Israel right now. The final seven years of that generation will be marked by the coming Antichrist's confirming of a covenant (treaty) among many nations.

The length of time for that generation is 70 or 80 years according to Psalm 90:10, and also as confirmed by Matthew 1:17 with the application of some simple mathematics.

This prophecy has no relation to the Bride of Christ or its prophecied Harpazo; for the Bride of Christ will not be on this earth upon its fulfillment and therefore will not be witness to the final things of Daniel's 70th Week that take place.

27 February 2011: It was just too hard to resist making the title of this report a parody of the Geico rhetorical question advertising campaign featuring actor Mike McGlone. So tell me, "has America's playing nuclear patty-cake with Egypt been a bad idea?" After reading this article you will know why it was a very bad idea.

Now that the restraining influence of President Hosni Mubarak is gone, it would appear to be a very bad idea. And the strong support former President Mubarak's government had previously received from most of the key nations involved in the Middle East for the past 30 years, primarily Israel and the United States, will now come into clearer into focus and scrutiny. You see, Hosni Mubarak was the key figure in keeping a previously clandestine Egyptian nuclear weapons program under tight controls; a nuclear weapons program manifest in the image seen above of the Argentina-built 22-megawatt reactor located in Egypt's Nile Delta town of Inshas.

It would seem that friendly regimes, long-standing allies, can have a clandestine nuclear weapons program because they've shown themselves capable of not behaving badly as in the case of the world's largest supporter on international Islamic terrorism, the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In just a couple of days new information is going to be in published in the media which details certain facts about the Egyptian nuclear weapons program which is now, thanks to the amateurish and extremely ill-advised pressure from Obama and his friends in throwing Hosni Mubarak under the bus, clearly within the grasp of the Islamo-Nazi fundamentalists of Egypt's al-Ikhwan al-Muslimun (Muslim Brotherhood).

The United States Intelligence Community (USIC) has just assessed, based upon direct knowledge of the Egyptian nuclear progam since the mid-1980s, that a nuclear weapons capability is well within the grasp of either the Egyptain armed forces or the Ikhwan in their ongoing power struggle in Egypt. The Ikhwan clearly have the upper-hand and the organizational edge in the struggle, and may well represent the coming "power of a cruel master, and a fierce king will rule over them" declared by the Lord Almighty in Isaiah 19:4. Of course, the Ikhwan covertly exist within the Egyptian armed forces, so the ultimate Egyptian power-broker could well be a combination of the two.

The USIC has revealed that Egypt has quietly acquired nuclear weapons technology and material from China, North Korea and Pakistan, in addition to biological and chemical weapons capabilities, and Hosni Mubarak was the key factor in ensuring that an Egyptian nuclear breakout would not occur. Otherwise the United States would have been all over Egypt as we have been for over a decade regarding the Iranian nuclear weapons program. The key controlling factor of Hosni Mubarak no longer exists. However, even during his tenure between 1990 and 2003 Egypt is known to have conducted 16 secret nuclear experiments under the command of Brigadier General Ahmed Nashet. In this same period Egypt acquired a Russian-made cyclotron for advanced uranium enrichment, and the Argentines designed the Inshas nuclear reactor to produce weapons-grade plutonium.

The bottom-line USIC assessments is that Egypt now has the resources to complete the production of nuclear warheads and a missile-borne delivery system of at least 1,000 kilometers (621 miles). How convenient! The distance between Cairo and Tel Aviv is less than half of that, and Cairo to Dimona is a mere stones throw. Worse, there's a common border between Egyptian Sinai and the Israeli Negev were smuggling is rampant.

Israel On Alert: Hizbullah Tunnel Strike From Lebanon

26 February 2010: TEL AVIV — Israel's military has been on alert for an imminent strike by Hizbullah.

Military sources said the intelligence community has been monitoring southern Lebanon for any evidence of Hizbullah construction of tunnels meant to penetrate Israel. They said the assessment was that Hizbullah was digging tunnels that could reach a military base or civilian community along the Israeli border with Lebanon.

"Hizbullah desperately wants to conduct an attack that would cause strategic harm to Israel and yet not leave any fingerprints that this was Hizbullah," a military source said.

The sources said the military has been preparing for several scenarios. In one, Palestinians trained by Hizbullah would emerge from a tunnel that reached Israel and kill as many as people as possible in an Israeli civilian community.

In another scenario, the Hizbullah tunnel would reach an Israeli military base. There, Hizbullah would conduct a nighttime abduction of several soldiers and bring them to Lebanon as hostages.

The military has also not ruled out that Palestinians trained by Hizbullah would capture and boobytrap an apartment building with hundreds of Israeli residents. In this scenario, the Palestinians would demand the release of thousands of their compatriots held by Israel.

Israel's military has asserted that Hizbullah expanded deployment in Shi'ite villages along the Lebanese border with Israel. The military asserted that Hizbullah has deployed a brigade with up to 5,000 fighters and trained to stage a ground assault on the Jewish state.

"We believe that any future war will involve a major ground operation by Hizbullah that will target our civilian communities," another military source said.

Origin of the Antichrist (UPDATED!)

This image is a computer-generated bust of Antiochus IV Epiphanes, the man Daniel prophesied would be the forerunner or prototype of the coming Antichrist.

Update 19 February 2011: I believe this update contains the correct association both Old and New Testament Scriptures which are sufficient to end once and for all the debate over whether the coming Antichrist will be European or Islamic.

According to Daniel 2 a night vision from God was given to Daniel to interpret Nebuchaddnezzar's dream about a great image which stood before him. It was the image of a statue of excellent splendor and awesome in its form. The image was a symbolic representation of the course and sequence of world empires begining with Nebuchadnezzar's own Babylonian Empire and on well into the future. The subsequent or second world empire what that of the Persians, which was followed in turn by the third world empire, that of Alexander the Great and his Macedonian-Greek Empire which completely eclipsed the first two. The four remant empires of Alexander's were eventally and completely absorbed and taken over a couple of hundred years later by the ultimate fourth world Empire, the Roman Empire which was detailed in Scripture as follows (Daniel 2:40-43):

"And the fourth kingdom shall be as strong as iron, inasmuch as iron breaks in pieces and shatters everything; and like iron that crushes, that kingdom will break in pieces and crush all the others. Whereas you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it, just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay. And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile. As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay."

And that is the end of the interpretation of Nebuchadnezzar's dream which God Himself gave to Daniel. That's all there is folks, nothing follows, the dream was certain, it came from God, and the interpretation was certain, it came from God also. God declared for all time through this ancient dream that there would be four world empires, and only four world empires. Yet, as we shall see, there were details to be added to this information that would come from the angel Gabriel to Daniel.

According to Daniel 10 a fallen angel had fought with and delayed Gabriel for 21 days while he was enroute to deliver this message. And we are told that he was assisted by the Archangel Michael in defeating that fallen angel. The fallen angels name is not given -- as if it were unimportant to any prophetic future events. However, we are informed that after delivering his message to Daniel the angel Gabriel would return to re-engage the angel of Persia, once again assisted by the angel of Israel, Michael the Archangel, and that the angel of Persia would be followed by another (fallen) angel, the angel of a western conquering empire. This is the third empire from Nebuchadnezzar's dream, the angel of the Empire of Grecia. Here's where it gets very interesting relative to the near prophetic future.

This "angel of Grecia" supernaturally empowered Alexander's Empire up and through to the Seleucid Empire and Antiochus IV Epiphanes, who is discussed in detail in the original article below. The key point is that the name of this fallen angel of Grecia known through the Revelation of Jesus Christ, as recorded in Chapter 9 verse 11 and Revelation 17 verse 8.

"And they had as king over them the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, but in Greek he has the name Apollyon." (Revelation 9:11 NKJV)

"The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition. And those who dwell on the earth will marvel, whose names are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet is."
(Revelation 17:8)

This fallen angel's name doing the bidding of Satan is Abaddon/Apollyon. He is the one who fulfills "The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition." That fallen angel was and will yet be again a prince of Grecia... not Persia. A Western empire, not a Persian, Arab or Islamic Empire.

09 July 2008: The Beast. The anti or in-lieu-of false messianic man of ancient Bible prophecy is the long-anticipated 'end times' character in both Old Testament and New Testament texts. He has always been an enigma, a man of mystery, prophesied to be of fierce countenance, a master of deceit and deception, of such unearthly evil power and charisma that by his mere presence all of mankind will be subdued and submit to his will.

The beast will be a man who ultimately will be wholly possessed by a demonic spirit ascended out of the abyss and identified by the name of Abaddon in Hebrew and Apollyon in the Greek; a man of mind bending unconscionable evil destined to stand as Satan incarnate during Daniel's 70th Week. He is a man whose name John revealed in the Revelation of Jesus Christ, chapter 13 verse 18, would count to or calculate to the Greek alphabetical-numerical equivalent of χξϚ (chi-xi-stigma) or six-hundred, three-score and six. 666.

Antiochus was the eighth in an unbroken direct line of descent of Greek Seleucid kings whose empire was the largest of those inherited in the division of Alexander the Great's Greek Empire into four lesser empires. Antiochus IV Epiphanes was an usurper who ruled the Greek Seleucid empire between 175 and 164 BC when he suddenly died of a disease. Antiochus had abandoned his born-name, Mithradates, and gave himself the name Epiphanes, which means 'god manifest" because he believed he was the living incarnation of Jupiter, the Romanized name of the principal pagan Greek god Zeus. On 15 Kislev 167 BC (6 December) Antiochus originally performed the to-be-repeated act of standing up an image of himself in the Jewish Temple known as the Abomination of Desolation. Antiochus also splashed pigs blood on the altar, sold Jews into slavery, destroyed every scroll of Jewish Scripture he could locate, forbade the daily sacrifice and the Jewish rite of circumcision under pain of death.

With all of these prophetic Biblical references to the Greek, the number of the coming Antichrist name equating to a Greek alphabet gematria, and the detail to which the prophet Daniel spoke concerning Greece, that he would come from the people who would destroy the city and the sanctuary (In 70 AD the Roman 5th Legion - Legio V Macedonica - was one of the principal legions involved in that military action) I became convinced that Daniel has further prophetically identified the national origin of this coming Antichrist. Indeed, Daniel 8 provides us with this specific identifier.

And the male goat is the kingdom of Greece. The large horn that is between its eyes is the first king.

"And the young he-goat, the hairy one, the king of Javan; and the great horn that [is] between its eyes is the first king."

Greece was known in ancient times as Javan. Javan was the son of Japheth, and a grandson of Noah. Javan and his offspring, Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim and Dodanim, settled in the West, in Europe. So here we have in this verse from Daniel an identifier of Alexander the Great as the symbolic male goat which conquers the Persian Empire. Daniel then continues in verse 22 with his Divinely inerrant prophetic description of how Alexander's Greek Empire would be divided into four kingdoms that would not have the same power as Alexander's.

Then we have in verse 23 a time-warp to the distant future yet which remains anchored to Alexander's Empire, as "that nation," and to the 4 kingdoms which would rise from it, all four referred to as being the same. A prophetic "worm-hole," if you will. This time warp takes us directly to Antiochus IV Epiphanes, and also thousands of years into the future to the man he is the specific model for, the Antichrist:

23 And in the latter time of their kingdom,
When the transgressors have reached their fullness,
A king shall arise,
Having fierce features,
Who understands sinister schemes.

Daniel continues with his description of both Antiochus IV Epiphanes and the coming Antichrist:

²⁴ His power shall be mighty, but not by his own power;
He shall destroy fearfully,
And shall prosper and thrive;
He shall destroy the mighty, and also the holy people.
²⁵ “ Through his cunning
He shall cause deceit to prosper under his rule;
And he shall exalt himself in his heart.
He shall destroy many in their prosperity.
He shall even rise against the Prince of princes;
But he shall be broken without human means.
²⁶ “ And the vision of the evenings and mornings
Which was told is true;
Therefore seal up the vision,
For it refers to many days in the future.”

It is my absolute conviction that Daniel's prophecy informs us in no uncertain terms that the coming Antichist will specifically arise from a Greek ancestry, that he will be a direct descendant of Javan via one of his sons whose progeny populate Europe and most of the nations of the West.

Making Sense of Chaos

Update 14 February 2011: The Egyptian pro-demcoracy folks accepted the removal of President Hosni Mubarak with glee and revelry. The cheers had hardly subsided when one of the first acts of the new ruling Egyptian Supreme Council of military officers was to disolve the parliament, suspend the Egyptian constitution and impose marital law. Just what the pro-democracy demonstrators wanted, eh? And some think that Isaiah 19 is not a prophetic fulfillment in progress. Sigh.

Update: 11 February 2011: Caroline Glick has written an article published in today’s Jewish World Review entitled “Ideologically-driven strategic ineptitude” which picks-up where my article left off. Caroline’s article provides in-depth coverage of most the major issues (i.e. threats to world peace and U.S. national security) in which this administration’s blatant “ideologically motivated” incompetence and deliberate “strategic dementia” is leading the world down a path to an apocalypse which the Iranian Ayatollah and his sock puppet so fervently dream of. Indeed, all that will soon be left is for the Iranian’s to step in to fill the vacuum the Obama Administration is creating.

UPDATE 10 February 2011: The Egyptian military has now taken control of the country, and Hosni Mubarak is expected to announce his resignation shortly. While the MSM is quick to discuss how the Ihkwan Muslimun (Muslim Brotherhood) is the best organized opposition group in Egypt, they routinely fail to report that the Ikhwan are even better organized within the Egyptian military forces. Catch-22. And if Obama thought Mubarak was insubordinate to his dictates, just wait until the Egyptian generals tell Obama to go fly a kite. Of course, it goes without saying that the night is still young in Egypt this evening.

09 February 2011: Here is my straight-up take on what is occurring real-time in the real-world Middle East. It is these real-world events which will bring about the fulfillment of all the relevant Bible prophecies.

Unlike the Inept-in-Chief, his Ikhwan advisors and appointed incompetents in the U.S. State Department who have been attempting to micromanage the crisis in Egypt via remote control, there are other forces at work that have real boots on the ground in the former land of the Pharaohs.

When Obama & Company declared that the transition from Hosni Mubarak’s rule to whatever is supposed to come next had to begin “now” with Mubarak’s immediate resignation, they utterly failed to account for specific provisions of the Egyptian Constitution.

Not 24 hours later and still breathless from all of the overnight backpedalling, they realized the enormity of their sophomoric gaffe and then demanded that Mubarak sign all the documents necessary to transition the government to whatever it may be next and demand yet again the he get the heck out of Cairo “yesterday” Isn’t this the same kind of over-the-top, pompous American arrogance that Obama went on a world tour to apologize for? What is obvious here is that our king, The One, not only has no clothes on, but he has no alibi.

Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli government, are you paying attention to this? Do you really want these people working as a “good offices” intermediary on the issues of Israeli sovereignty and “Palestinian” statehood? I should hope not. I should hope that Israel answers to a Higher Authority than the current occupant of the Oval Office.

Now, about those other forces. If you listen to the MSM they’re all gaga over the presence of Code Pink in Cairo’s Tahrir Square protests. Code Pink is a Leftist distraction involved on a Middle Eastern tour courtesy of the Ikhwan Travelling Three-Ring Circus.

The real boots on the ground are the Ikhwan’s “A-Teams,” the Takfir wal Hijra and HAMAS in Gaza. These Islamic purists, born and bred of the al-Ikhwan al-Muslimun, are killing Egyptian security forces in running gun battles in the Sinai, in the border town of Rafah and conducting hit-and-run military operations like the one last weekend near Al-Arish that took out a natural gas pipeline serving Israel and Jordan. Half of Israel’s electricity comes from that gas. This occurred in the same timeframe as Egypt’s receiving permission for a waiver of the Egyptian-Israel peace treaty to deploy a couple of combat brigades into the Sinai. Eventually the other real boots on the ground, the IDF, will have to do something to both contain HAMAS and the other Gaza terrorists and to maintain the increasing threat to its peace treaty with Egypt.

These are the real issues that need to be addressed to make sense of the current chaotic scenario unfolding in Egypt. Jordan and the Saudi’s are also threatened by these same forces. And Lebanon, now firmly in Iranian orbit and guarded by Hezbollah and IRGC regulars, is a time bomb whose detonation will occur much sooner than expected. It is in America’s utmost national security interest to have these issues dealt with resolutely by experienced professionals. Keeping our B-Team on the job is a recipe for an unprecedented disaster of the Biblical Isaiah 19 and beyond proportions.

What's to Become of the Middle East!

13 February 2011: I inherently knew there would be a short yet inevitable time span before the proponents of the Eastern Leg-Islamic Antichrist (EL-IA) theorem would jump up once again to proclaim that the unrest stirring violently in the Middle East, particularly in Egypt, could be seen through the lens of their work.

Such proclamations were nonsense two years ago when they first appeared ("God's War on Terror", 2008 and "Islamic Antichrist", 2009 among other articles, periodicals and blogs) and they are nonsense now. This EL-IA theorem has been thoroughly debunked by many astute and learned Bible scholars, authors, and eschatologists.

So it is with some sadness that I read the following sentence (with my emphasis added) in a new article "What's to Become of Egypt" from brother Jack Kelley: "Like I said it’s still too early to determine the outcome of the current unrest in Egypt. But we can tell from Scripture that eventually Egypt will become part of the End Times Roman (Islamic) Empire, also being called the Caliphate."

What I can tell from reading such theorems is that there is a small minority of brethren who are more than willing to try to tell the rest of us their eschatological interpretations of the prophecies passed to Daniel by the angel Gabriel. Obviously the majority of us not only disagree with their views, but have our own Scripture-based objections to them. It is the Scripture-based objections which drives rebuttals such as this and others previously published by Dr. David Regan and more recently by Dr. Reagan, and by Bill Salus, Don Koenig, Jack Kinsella, just to name a few.

However, what I find most troublesome with Jack Kelley's new article is that he apparently won't dare to touch the prophecy of Isaiah 19 with the ongoing events in Egypt, but easily found his way to directly connect them to a thoroughly debunked newspaper exegesis that is tied directly to an errant interpretation of Daniel 2:26-46, Daniel 9:26 and Revelation 13:1-2. In fact, Jack cherry-picked and cited just four verses from Daniel 11:40-42 and Daniel 11:45 to conclude relative to the focus of this rebuttal, "To me this is confirmation that Egypt is not likely to play a major part in the Psalm 83 scenario..."

Remember, Jack Kelley went from "It's still to early to determine the outcome... But we can tell...," to "To me this is confirmation that..." This kind of eschatological commentary begs to be objected to, and that is precisely what I have done here with my comments and citations.

The prophecy of Isaiah 19 informs us that the unrest in Egypt is the direct result of God moving powerfully to bring certain events to occur, that His hand is passing over the former land of the Pharaohs which has set Egyptian against Egyptian, everyone against his own kin, neighbor against neighbor. A full-blown civil war in other words. During this civil war God will destroy by swallowing up the correct counsel or advice of the Egyptian leaders on the correct course of action they should take. We have seen this aspect of the prophecy manifest in the much reported no-other-option removal of the constitutional president of the country. Now the Egyptians will be given over by the LORD God "into the hand of a cruel master; and a fierce king shall rule over them." I have no doubt that this is prophetic Word will be manifest in the triumph of the Sunni Islamic terrorist fundamentalists of the al-Ikhwan al-Muslimun (Muslim Brotherhood) and their chief leader who is yet to emerge from the continuing chaotic situation.

These events are driven by the LORD God and are setting the stage for the final fulfillment of Psalm 83, and will also assist in the precipitator of or precursor to the related prophecies of the "inner ring" Arab Islamic war against Israel, a war they Arab Islamists will loose decisively and never recover from.

Isaiah 19: "I Will Set Egyptians Against Egyptians"

29 January 2011: Bill Salus' yesterday posted a most excellent prophecy exegesis on his PROPHECY NEWS-STAND blog which I urge everyone visiting here to read through this link: "I Will Set Egyptians Against Egyptians."

Indeed, Isaiah has prophecied that civil war will come to Egypt, most probably as a precursor to the events which conclude in the fulfillment of Psalm 83. Without question I believe this is cutting edge exegesis from Bill Salus. And be sure to inform friends, neighbors and fellow members of your church to become informed as well. It will be an amazing experience to be an eyewitness to the prophetic declaration of the Most Holy God per Isaiah 19 as it enters literal fulfillment before our eyes.

Joshua 13:1-7

25 January 2011: Joshua was an old man, the Lord's conquering warrior was nearing the end of his earthly life, yet the Lord informs Joshua that he had much work yet to complete before it would be time to rest. This subject may well have a double relevance in these last days, for the Bride of Christ as well as for the re-established Israel of Ezekiel 37.

"Now Joshua was old, advanced in years. And the LORD said to him: “You are old, advanced in years, and there remains very much land yet to be possessed. This is the land that yet remains: all the territory of the Philistines and all that of the Geshurites, from Sihor, which is east of Egypt, as far as the border of Ekron northward (which is counted as Canaanite); the five lords of the Philistines—the Gazites, the Ashdodites, the Ashkelonites, the Gittites, and the Ekronites; also the Avites; from the south, all the land of the Canaanites, and Mearah that belongs to the Sidonians as far as Aphek, to the border of the Amorites; the land of the Gebalites, and all Lebanon, toward the sunrise, from Baal Gad below Mount Hermon as far as the entrance to Hamath; all the inhabitants of the mountains from Lebanon as far as the Brook Misrephoth Maim, and all the Sidonians—them I will drive out from before the children of Israel; only divide it by lot to Israel as an inheritance, as I have commanded you. Now therefore, divide this land as an inheritance to the nine tribes and half the tribe of Manasseh.”"

We can learn almost all there is to know about Joshua by reading the Book of Numbers. His name was originally Hoshea (Literally meaning salvation) and was changed by Moses to Joshua (Jehoshua and literally meaning Yahweh is salvation). This is the same name that in Greek is Jesus. In Numbers 27:12-22 we learn that Moses was seeking a new leader for Israel, "the congregation," because no flock of sheep of the Lord's can be without a shepherd. And God commanded Moses that Joshua was the man for this task because, as verse 18 tells us, he is a man "in whom is the Spirit." And on a summit of Mount Abarim (Mt. Nebo in Moab) Moses did exactly as God commanded, and Joshua led by the Spirit became the leader of Israel, the entire congregation of Israel in the years circa 1400-06 BC. From this point the conquest of the Promised Land took about 45 years according to Joshua 14:6-14. So the taking of Hebron from the Anakim was the last act in 45 years of war and conquest, and then there was rest from war.

Ezekiel tells us that prior to the attempted invasion of the Gog confederation Israel will be at peace, stable, secure, without fear of any nation - at rest from war. Israel's re-establishment began with war in the period of 1947-49, and then in 1967 Israel was enlarged through the conquest of land to its present size. And from 1967 to the present Israel has maintained its present geographical form. 2012 will mark the 45th year since 1967 and the taking of the whole of Jerusalem. And Psalm 83 is missing one final major action on the battlefield before Israel can become - at rest from war.

Given the destablizing events currently occurring in Lebanon, Jordan and Egypt, there may not be much more time to expire before that period of rest becomes a reality. And in that day the Lord's attention will move from the Bride of Christ to Israel upon whom He has promised to pour out His Spirit. And the Harpazo of the Bride of Christ is more imminent than ever.

Iran Completes Its Conquest of Lebanon

UPDATE: 20 January 2011: Today's DEBKAfile report, Hezbollah's eleventh-hour pullback from siege of UN sites and troops, might be dismissed by some as being fanciful, but I'm here to inform that there's a whole lot of facts behind it.

On December 6, 2010 the Lebanese newspaper The Daily Star reported that Hezbollah's political ally and world-class Jew hater, Wi'am Wahhab, made the following statement: "If the outside [world] is indifferent toward strife in Lebanon, we can confirm that in the event of strife, UNIFIL troops in Lebanon will not be left in peace." But this really isn't new news, Wahhab's been making the same threat since last July.

Obviously, Hezbollah's current military operational orders, as directed by the Iranian Ayatollah, were planned well in advance. The enhanced Western military presence referred to below indicates that our intelligence and military command authorities took these threats seriously. We'll soon see if Hezbollah is feeling froggy enough to go ahead and jump. It might be the last thing they ever do.

UPDATE 18 January 2011: As of early this morning Hezbollah and AMAL (AMAL is a former rival and secular Lebanese Shi'a militia) soldiers were seen taking up positions on the streets of Beirut. While this might seem to be much-ado-over-nothing in the crazy world of Lebanon, the streets in which these Shi'a soldiers were taking up fighting positions are in Sunni Muslim neighborhoods. The Sunni's are obviously very concerned with this turn of events.

The cause of the Hezbollah/Amal deployment is due to the U.N. STL Prosecutor, Daniel A. Bellemare, CONFIDENTIALLY filing his indictments in the 2005 assassination of PM Rafiq al-Hariri and the murder of 22 others with the Tribunal Registrar yesterday, 17 JAN 11. The Tribunal Registrar will next submit the indictment to the U.N. STL Pre-Trial (international) Judge. Thus, the U.N. STL has entered into the judicial phase of its existence. The (international) Pre-Trial Judge is expected to confirm the indicments and release them publicly. Most observers expect both living and deceased members of Hezbollah's leadership to be named in the indictments, with at least one French report (AFP) publicly indicating that Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamene'i to also be included among those indicted.

Additionally, according to new information from Al-Arabia, the former first President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Abolhasssan Bani Sadr, (now living in exile in France) has confirmed the U.N. STL indictments will name Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamene'i as well as both living and deceased members of Hezbollah as being the persons responsible for the assassination and murders. Bani Sadr reportedly stated that Khamene'i personally ordered the assassination of Rafiq al-Hariri saying, "only someone in my position can understand the necessity of such an action." Bani Sadr went on to state that he expects Ayatollah Khamene'i will now "liquidate" Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah, mostly likely due to his extemely poor handling of the U.N. STL situation.

UPDATE 12 January 2011: Today Hezbollah's threatened "Zero Hour" arrived at 4:30 PM Beirut time, 07:30 AM Eastern Standard Time.

The "Zero Hour" arrived with the resignations of all eleven Hezbollah government ministers from their posts. The effect of these resignations was the immediate collapse of Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri's government. The resignations occurred as an effective preemption of Prime Minister al-Hariri's meeting with Obama in Washington later today.

I believe Hezbollah and their militia allies will now move rapidly to fill the lack of a functioning government vacuum their long-planned action was designed to cause. The resignations of Hezbollah's government minister has the effect of being a coup d'etat.

This crisis may also become an impetus for the U.N. STL to immediately issue their long anticipated indictments of Hezbollah for Rafiq al-Hariri's assassination, and possibly for some form of Western military intervention to thwart Iranian military expansion into the Eastern Mediterranean.

The USS Enterprise (CVN-65) Carrier Strike Group (CSG), including Destroyer Squadron-2, the AEGIS cruiser USS Leyte Gulf (CG-55) and destroyers USS Barry (DDG-52), USS Bulkeley (DDG-84), and USS Mason (DDG-87) are enroute to the Mediterranean Sea in an augmentation of the US Navy's 6th Fleet.

27 November 2010: The Islamic Republic of Iran's long-term conquest of the Republic of Lebanon is a fait accompli. Once again the agenda of the Islamic Republic has not only trumped that of the inept and feckless Western Powers but it is in fact a de facto usurpation of the imminent, and so-called "inviolable" United Nations Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) indictments in the case of the 2005 assassination of Prime Minister Rafiq HARIRI.

This chessboard-like achievement was made evident as Western leaders slept early this morning with the arrival in Tehran of the current Lebanese Prime Minister Saad HARIRI. The Lebanese Prime Minister's trip to Iran ahead of the official releasing the the STL's indictments on the assassination of Saad's father belies Hezbollah's threatened "Zero Day" coup d'etat.

A report by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) published on Sunday 21 November, and aired globally on Monday 22 November, revealed that the U.N. STL's indictments provided irrefutable proof in the form of a loyal Lebanese officer's intelligence operation which identified senior members of Hezbollah as Rafiq Hariri's assassins.

According to documentation in the U.S. Library of Congress, Hezbollah has from its inception in 1982 has been a forward deployed element of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) when a small contingent of Pasdaran, a/k/a the "Army of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution," a/k/a the Islamic Revolutionary Guards, arrived and set up shop at Baalbek in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley in 1982.

Therefore, Lebanese Prime Minister Saad-eddine Rafiq al-Hariri is this morning, and tomorrow the esteemed quest and the newest sock-puppet of the Iranian Ayatollah's regime, a regime who ultimately ordered the assassination of his father.

The word treason is probably in the forefront the minds of those few liberty loving Lebanese citizens who brought about the short-lived "Cedar Revolution" and now watch as their nation has been taken from them with nary a word or deed from the so-called democratic West. Never have I entertained the thought that the treachery of Neville Chamberlain would be eclipsed. Today I stand quietly corrected.

Gog is Alive and Well and Living in Russia

5 January 2010: It's long been something to ponder since the collapse of the Soviet Union how Ezekiel 38/39's God-breathed "Prophecy Against Gog" had Orthodox Russia as the origin of the leader (Gog) and his nation (Magog) of a vast military confederation of Muslim Caucasian and Central Asian nations from within the former Soviet Union, in addition to the solidly Muslim nations of Turkey, Iran, Libya and the Sudan who will soon attempt to invade and plunder the greater State of Israel in these latter years.

Yes, the Word of God is inerrant. Period. And I've always believed by faith that Ezekiel 38/39 would occur exactly as the literal words of the text say it will occur. As a baby boomer and one who began his military service in the final phase of the Cold War, I had always assumed the godless Russian communists of the former USSR had natural allies in the Islamic world because they both hated Israel. So, Ezekiel 38/39 made logical sense to me.

Then came the collapse of the Soviet Union and suddenly Ezekiel's Israel invading confederation became more of a curiosity to me, a "known unknown" as a former U.S. Secretary of Defense was fond of saying, particularly since post-Yeltsin Orthodox Russia, ruled by a mafiosa-like cabal of KGB officers, was really quite adept at killing Muslims by the tens of thousands in their north Caucasus republic of Chechnya, in not just one war but two wars that continue to this day as an Islamic insurgency.

However, now I believe I know how this prophecy will achieve a fulfillment that is exactly as literal as the text of Ezekiel states. What follows below is an article I received today which provides a great explanation of why and how the Orthodox Russian Federation will become an Islamic Russian Federation by the time Ezekiel 38/39 comes to fulfillment. It is also quite probable that the man who Ezekiel names as "Gog" is alive and well and living in Russia right now. But his name is not Vladimir Putin. His name may well be that of 51-year old Ravil Ismagilovich Gaynutdinov, or as he's popularly known, Ravil Gaynutdin, the Grand Mufti of Russia since 1996.

Russian Army To Be Muslim Majority In Few Decades

When discussing the Islamization of the West, France is usually cited as being the worst-off of the Western democracies. It has an estimated Muslim population of 10%, perhaps as high as 15%, and the demographics of the situation — a very low birthrate among the native French, and a baby boom among the Muslim immigrants — do not bode well for the future of France.

If we expand the definition of “the West” a bit, it becomes necessary to add India and Russia to the list of Most Islamized Western Nations. India has the largest, oldest, and most intractable “Islam problem” of any Western democracy. The Muslim minority in India is over 150 million (13+% of the population) and is growing relative to the Hindu population. India lives under the constant threat of terror attack. Its citizens experience deadly bombings and other forms of violent jihad with mind-numbing regularity.

Russia is a special case. Its Muslim population is estimated at 10% to 12%, and its demographic situation is worse than that of France, so that Russian Islam is expected to grow rapidly. If present trends continue, Muslims will comprise a majority of the Russian military within a couple of decades.

However, as analysts often point out, Islam in Russia is different from virtually anywhere else. The most fanatical Osama-loving terrorists and their sympathizers are confined mainly to Chechnya, Dagestan, and other small republics in the southern Caucasus. To the extent that these ethnicities have migrated to Moscow and other parts of Russia proper, the problem of Islamic terror has spread, but its practitioners are still mainly from those Caucasian ethnic groups.

A large part of the Muslim population in Russia is Tatar. The Tatars are a Mongolian ethnicity, and have been in Russia for almost eight hundred years, since the they first conquered the Eastern Slavs. When Ivan the Great threw off the Tatar yoke two and a half centuries later, the Tatar Muslims became subordinate to the Orthodox Christians of Holy Russia, and have retained that status ever since, except for a brief atheist interregnum between 1917 and 1991.

Western analysts have generally regarded the Tatar brand of Islam as mild and innocuous, especially compared with the virulent versions found in Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and Somalia. Since the Tatars are estimated to number between seven and eight million, or around half of Russia’s Muslim population, this cuts the percentage of “problem” Muslims in half, making the scope of the issue roughly the same as it is in the Netherlands.

Except in the case of the Caucasus, the Legacy Media have consistently downplayed the danger of radical Islam in Russia. An article from April 2007 in The Economist is a case in point. It calls the increase of Russian Islam “a benign growth”, and describes it in glowing terms such as only the MSM can provide. The subhead tells us:

Russia’s fastest-growing religious group is its Muslims. But they are not much like their counterparts in other countries

Below are some further excerpts from the article. I’ve bolded certain names, for reasons that will become apparent later on:

…Russia has more Muslims than any other European state (bar Turkey); and the Muslim share of the population is rising fast. The 2002 census found that Russia’s Muslims numbered 14.5m, 10% of its total of 145m. In 2005 the foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov, put the number of Muslims at 20m. Ravil Gaynutdin, head of Russia’s Council of Muftis, talks of 23m, including Azeri and Central Asian migrants.

Already you notice the standard Islamic tactic of inflating for propaganda purposes the number of Muslims within a given country. Because “Islam is the world’s fastest-growing religion” (everybody knows this, and the media keep repeating it, but how do we know it’s true? Statistics can always be traced back to the OIC or CAIR or MPAC or similar organizations), the number of Muslims has to be revised continually upwards.

Moreover, the Muslim population of Russia is rising even as the country’s overall population falls. Many Muslim communities long predate Russian rule. Shamil Alyautdinov, the imam of the newest and most dynamic of Moscow’s four mosques, insists that the very word “minority” should not apply to a faith “which emerged on Russia’s territory far earlier than Christianity did”.

Aside from the Caucasus, there are now two concentrations of Muslims in Russia. One is in Moscow, swollen by labour migration, where they may number 2m. The other is in the faith’s old bastions: Bashkortostan and, above all, Tatarstan, where a revival of the faith has been overseen successfully by a wily regional president, Mintimer Shaimiev. In several parts of the Caucasus, old-style compacts between local rulers and “tame” clerics have alienated young people; but in Tatarstan they still seem to work quite well.

But in general Islam’s resurgence in Tatarstan’s capital, Kazan, has been peaceful. For the first time since Ivan the Terrible conquered the place in 1552, the city’s Kremlin houses a mosque, its minarets vying with nearby Orthodox Christian onion domes. Ramil Yunusov, its Saudi-trained imam, gets on fine with the local Orthodox clergy. Just 25 years ago, says Gusman Iskhakov, the mufti who heads the Muslim Spiritual Board of Tatarstan, the region had some 20 mosques. Now there are around 1,300.

This is the MSM’s story, and they’re sticking to it: Everything is fine; Islam in Russia is cool and hip and friendly and modern, just as Yuri Andropov was. OK, so there’s a bit of radicalism here and there, but nothing the FSB can’t handle.

And, yes, the number of mosques in Tatarstan has increased from 20 to 1,300 in just a quarter of a century. That’s a 6400% increase — more than 18% per year — but we’re not supposed to worry about it. After all, since the Orthodox Christians have been building all those churches for centuries, it’s only fair — right? Now it’s Islam’s turn.

Rafael Khakimov, an adviser to Mr Shaimiev, uses the term “Euro-Islam” to describe the faith that has evolved in what was for long the world’s northernmost Muslim outpost. Wherever he turns, Mr Shaimiev likes to present a benign image. Accompanying Mr Putin round the Middle East, the Tatar leader shows Russia’s pious Muslim face, a tactic that underpins the Kremlin’s Middle East diplomacy. In February the Saudis gave Mr Shaimiev an award for services to the faith. But when they are talking to west Europeans, the Tatar authorities like to present themselves as more open-minded than most other regions of Russia.

This is what everybody has been hoping for — “Euro-Islam”. It’s what Tariq Ramadan has been peddling in the swanky European salons of the academe and the media for the last decade or so. The cultural elite have resigned themselves to Islamization, so the benign version of Islam is supposed to make the process easier to accept. Just take your Percocet and slather on the Vaseline — and then lie back, close your eyes, and think of Euro-Islam.

Many people in Arab countries, says Mr Shaimiev, have never lived on equal terms with other cultures, and their teaching doesn’t suit the needs of the Tatars, who have. His government has opened its own religious schools and universities, to propagate its preferred form of Islam.

So the madrassas of Tatar Islam — Euro-Islam — are different from those of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. This, too is supposed to reassure us. We’re meant to believe that their students are being taught Sharia Lite.

Among the politically active Muslims of Moscow who lobbied for Imam Stepanenko, the mood is different. For one thing, there is a row between two contestants for official favour: the cautious Mr Gaynutdin, and Talgat Tadjuddin, a feisty chief mufti who in 2003 proclaimed a jihad against America.

Notice that a Muslim who declares a jihad is described as “feisty” — evoking the image of a lovably cantankerous old rogue, who maybe makes a spot of trouble now and then, but is quite all right, really. I mean, he only declared a jihad against America, after all, and not — whew! — Europe.

If we fast-forward nearly four years to the end of 2010, we hear a slightly different tune coming out of Russia. Among the ululating voices are those of Ravil Gaynutdin and Talgat Tadjuddin. The “cautious” and “feisty” imams are still front and center, although the variant transliterations of their names makes them a bit harder to identify.

Russian Islamic Leaders Against the Kremlin

The chief mufti attacks the State guilty of hindering the unification of the Muslims of the Federation and condemn those religious leaders who are working as puppets to quell the community’s presence in the country.

Moscow (AsiaNews) — The leaders of the Russian Muslim community have launched a strong attack against the authorities in the country. The head of the Council of muftis of Russia, Ravil Gainutdin, accuses the state of wanting to obstruct the unification of Muslims and attempting to “suppress Islam” in the Federation. He has also described as “puppets” and “squalid people,” those mufti who work in government institutions.

This is a somewhat more confrontational — dare we say “extremist”? — message. Three and a half years later, and Mr. Gainutdin is now on the attack. Does this mean he has graduated to the status of “feisty”, like his esteemed colleague?

Not entirely. It seems that the two muftis have been singing from the same hymnal all along, and were just playing good cop/bad cop with the gullible media droids. That feisty-versus-reasonable shtick was just for the rubes:

The project of unification of the Russian followers of Muhammad dates back to 2009. Then, Gainutdin said in an interview with Radio Liberty, “the mufti Talgat Tadzhuddin had proposed to merge the three central organizations of the Muslims of Russia.” “After studying the idea — continued the religious leader — I together with the leader of the Caucasus Muslims, Berdiyev, met him. We created a working group to structure this unification. But the government did not approve of our decision. They claimed Talgat Tadzhuddin’s idea was not in line with government policy”.

The new goal is a single, unified Islam throughout the Russian Federation. Chechens, Tatars, Uzbeks, Kazakhs, and all the others, in it together for the good of the Ummah.

Mr. Gainutdin is clear: any clerics who resist his call for Islamic unity are “puppets” of the Islamophobes:

Gainutdin’s charges against the State are also motivated by the recent creation of the fourth muftiyat (Islamic Council), the “Russian Association of Islamic agreement” designed precisely to prevent any process of unification. “The new ‘pocket muftis’, who oppose the growth of Islam are mere puppets” says Gainutdin. “These puppets, like those who work in government, for example, the Islamophobic Grishin (the director of the Presidential Administration in charge of relations with Islamic organizations, ed), will not hesitate to suppress Islam in Russia … which is already taking place,” he added.

This charge of disloyalty aimed at the “pocket muftis” is a serious one. Under sharia law, it is very close to a declaration of takfir against them, which is a form of apostasy, and carries the death sentence. This is serious business.

The last paragraph provides a hint as to what might be causing all this newfound “feistiness”:

Commenting on the recent clashes between Nationalist hooligans and mostly Muslim immigrants from the Caucasus, Gainutdin emphasized the existence of tensions in the capital home to more than two million Muslims. He also pointed out the need to build new mosques in Moscow, where the faithful are forced to pray, for lack of space, “in the streets, on tram lines, and even in the courtyards of churches.” “This humiliation, this discriminatory policy against civil rights continues, before the eyes of Muslims around the world.”

Mr. Gainutdin is reminding the oligarchs who rule Russia that he has two million troops under his command in Russia’s capital city. This is a warning to Vladimir Putin to shorten the chain on his nationalist “hooligans”, or face the consequences. Judging by the roundup of young nationalists over the past week or so — the last I heard, a couple of thousand of them were in preventive detention — Mr. Putin has gotten the message.

It’s 2 January 2011 and it’s wake up time. Again.

If I had any doubt about a soon-to-occur Islamic coup d’etat occurring in Egypt that doubt vanished with the massacre of Christians during the midnight New Years Day Mass at the Saints Coptic Orthodox Church in Alexandria.

There was obvious collusion and coordination between the Egyptian government security guards and the Islamic jihadists who planned the massacre. The Egyptian government guards abandoned their duty stations around the church just prior to the arrival of a green Skoda automobile and the detonation of a 220 lb bomb laced with nails, ball bearings and thick shards of glass. A bumber sticker on the rear of the Skoda read: “the rest is coming.”

There are many more than just the initial report of 21 dead and 96 injured. The number of dead in particular is well in excess of just 21. That number is based upon the severed arms and legs the Christians had to retreive from in front of the church after covering them with newspapers.

A throng of Muslim jihadists swarmed the scene of the massacre from the mosque across the street and began stomping on and otherwise mutilating the body parts of the dead Christians while shouting “Allah Akhbar.” Some of the Christians body parts landed on the fourth floor of nearby buildings whose windows had been blown out by the detonation.

Just try to imagine that scene. You’re a Christian in Egypt. Dozens of your beloved family and friends lie dead and butchered beyond recognition around you. Blood is everywhere. And the Muslims are chanting “Allah is Great.” Does it pass your notice that the identical thing occured throughout Muslim lands in the aftermath of 9/11?

Egyptian government officals have placed blame for this massacre at the feet of either Al Qaeda or the Israeli Mossad. Somethings will never change, but you, the Egyptian Christian, as well as the American Christian, know it was neither. It was your Muslim neighbors at their “religion of peace” best.

This massacre was the work of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood… a branch of which exists in these United States and is known as the Council of American Islamic Relations (CAIR).

We’re next.

It’s time to wake up and put an end to this nonsense before it is too late.

A "Palestinian" state in 2011? Don't count on it.

01 January 2011: So, here we are on the first day of 2011, and the odds makers and the secular power elite are banking on the unilateral declaration of statehood for "Palestine" in just a few short months.

I'm thinking such a "Palestinian" state will never come into existence.

Why?

Because of Ezekiel 38/39.

Let's say, just for giggles and grins sake, that a "Palestinian" state did exist and was located within the borders of Judea and Samaria (the West Bank). What the heck, thow in the whole of Gaza as well. That's the new "Palestine."

So riddle me this...

If Israel was nothing more than the tiny geographical size of the State of New Jersey (less than 9,000 square miles in area)...

what would be the necessity for the overwhelmingly massive military forces of 9 much larger nations as described by Ezekiel to come against her?

At that tiny area; it's like comparing the size of an apple with a grape.

Such a scenario makes zero military tactical, practical or logical sense at whatsoever. Zippo, nada, none.

Such a scenario as described by Ezekiel only makes sense if "Palestine" does not exist and Israel's geographical size at that time is at least 20 times larger than the above map indicates. Ezekiel 38/39 makes sense if Israel were at that time to encompass the land area of a nation the size of Iraq.

An Israel that's approximately this large...

Now that's an invasion force versus size comparison which is apples to apples.

How Can the European Union Recognize a Palestinian State Before it Exists?

Update 29 December 2010: This article was originally posted on 21 FEB 2010. Current events have caused me to update and expand it and and then bring it forward rather than compose an entirely new article on the same subject.

21 February 2010: The Israeli left-leaning newspaper Ha'aretz reported today that through a French and Spanish initiative the European Union will recognise the existence of a "Palestinian" state 18 months from now. Based upon "Palestinian" demands, such a state would comprise the yellow-colored areas of the West Bank seen in the small inset in the map image above. That area depicts the un-negotiated but de facto pre-June 1967 (6 Day War) borders", which are also known as the 1949 Armistice Lines. Most geo-political analysts worth their paycheck would offer the assessment that such a map does not geographically represent a viable nation state. Nothing of its kind has existed previously for any length of time.

Would not the total of 18 months from now constitute an exceptionable bit of timing? I mean to say, consider this: if they were aware of Jewish historical facts, would not the secular world's book-makers set odds on whether or not the European Union's official recognition of a non-existent state will occur on or before Tisha B'Av, or Tuesday, 9 August 2011? Or that the gambit of a unilateral "Palestinian" declaration of statehood would be successful or a failure? Would the fact that Tisha B'Av is the historical anniversary of the most tragic days in Israel's long history serve to increase the margin of those hypothetical odds?

Me thinks the answers are, respectively: yes, successful, and yes.

Inquiring minds would like to know because such an initiative as the driving force of Pan-Arab-Islamic expectations (i.e. the Arab League) for the unilateral declaration of "Palestinian" statehood over the intervening months will very likely be the impetus for a major war.

In point-of- fact, I believe that is precisely the goal, albeit unstated, of such a geo-political gambit should those expectations not be realized. A unilateral declaration of "Palestinian" statehood, with many nations of the world recognizing that declaration - prior to the actual declaratory words and institutions of statehood having been created much less functional - appears to me to be a very crafty calculation and political mechanism to achieve the reality of that state as the result of blatant appeasement - or - if forcefully resisted by Israel, for war. A war like the Psalm 83 war.

I want to wish you the Merriest of Christmases this Saturday, but according to the song, the First Day of Christmas is the day after Christmas, December 26.

Ancient Christians celebrated "The Holidays," as our militant secularists insist on referring to them now, starting with the day after the birth of Jesus and ending on January 6th with the visit of the Magi in Matthew 2:11 known as the Epiphany.

Start with 12/26 and end with 1/6 and you get: the Twelve Days of Christmas.

You may be really tired of hearing Christmas songs by now, including this one, yet you may still be wondering what the heck partridges in a pear tree and eight maids a-milking have to do with the birth of the founder of Christianity. So I thought we might take a break from Serious Thoughts About World Events, and take a look at the song's origin, meaning, and current urban myth.

The earliest printed version of The Twelve Days of Christmas is in a children's book published in London in 1790, Mirth Without Mischief. It is called a "memory and forfeits" game played by children in the form of a song, where the leader recites a verse, each player in turn repeats it, the leader keeps adding verses until a player's memory fails him/her and has to forfeit a piece of candy (if a girl, a kiss on the leader's cheek).

Kids in 18th Century England, however, learned the game from French kids, who had been singing their version, "In Those Twelve Days" since at least 1625. We know the song was originally French, as for example, partridges were introduced into England from France in the 1770s.

Even though The Twelve Days of Christmas was a kids' song-game, it nonetheless had a deep religious meaning.

Unlike the PC Happy Holidays of today, centuries ago Christmas was above all a religious celebration. All of the song's twelve gifts are Christian symbols.

On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me...

A Christian's "true love" is God.

A partridge in a pear tree...

The partridge is Jesus; the pear tree stands for the Cross.

The French revered the mother partridge, which would feign injury to draw predators away from her nest and willing to sacrifice herself for the life of her children, and used the bird as a symbol for Jesus who lamented in Matthew 23:37: "O Jerusalem... How often would I have sheltered thee under my wings, as a hen does her chicks, but thou wouldst not have it so."

Why a pear tree? Because it's a song in English full of alliteration: partridge-pear, two-turtle, maids-milking, swans-swimming, lords-leaping, pipers-piping, drummers-drumming.

On the second day...two turtle doves...

The sacrifice Joseph and Mary made for Jesus (they actually sacrifice two turtle doves in Luke 2:24).

The French original refers to the two gifts of the Old and New Testaments.

On the third day...three French hens...

The three things that abideth of I Corinthians 13:13 -- faith, hope, and charity. In the French original, the three persons of the Holy Trinity, the Father, the Son, the Holy Ghost.

On the fourth day... four calling (in the English original, "colly" or black) birds...

The four Evangelists and their Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John.

On the fifth day... five golden rings...

Not rings on your finger, but ring-necked pheasants in keeping with the bird theme of the first seven verses; the Pentateuch, the first five books of the Old Testament known collectively as the Books of Moses.

On the sixth day... six geese a-laying...

The six days of Creation.

On the seventh day... seven swans a-swimming...

The Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit, much discussed by Augustine and Aquinas: wisdom, understanding, knowledge, counsel, fortitude, piety, and fear of the Lord.

On the eighth day... eight maids a-milking...

The eight Beatitudes or those who are blessed from the Sermon on the Mount, Matthew 5:3-10 (the poor in spirit, who mourn, the meek, who thirst for righteousness, the merciful, the pure in heart, the peacemakers, who are persecuted for righteousness).

On the ninth day... nine ladies a-dancing...

The nine fruits of the Holy Spirit listed in Galatians 5:22-23: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law."

On the tenth day...ten lords a-leaping...

The Ten Commandments.

On the eleventh day... eleven pipers piping...

The eleven loyal Disciples. We all know what happened to the twelfth.

On the twelfth day...twelve drummers drumming...

The twelve points of The Apostle's Creed.

That's the meaning.

Now on to the myth.

There is an "urban legend" floating in the Internet ether that the Twelve Days is a Catholic protest song, a secret catechism sung by English Catholics after Elizabeth I abolished "the old worship" in 1559, forbidding the open practice of Roman Catholicism (finally repealed by Parliament in 1829).

Yet all twelve enumerated gifts of the song were believed in common by both Catholics and Anglicans -- there is nothing in it exclusively Catholic needing to be secret and hidden.

Further, the song originated in France, not England. This myth was created by a Byzantine Catholic priest in Granville, New York named Hal Stockert in 1995.

He claimed he had done all sorts of research in 16th Century Latin texts and letters from Irish priests. When pressed to provide it, his dog had devoured his homework: "All of my notes were ruined when our church had a plumbing leak and the basement flooded."

Oh, he did make an electronic copy, but sadly it is on "a computer floppy disk that is so old that nobody has a machine that can read it anymore."

Hey, Hal: you're lying.

I have to tell you it was my son Jackson who gave me the idea to write this. The most wonderful Christmas present a man can have is his family and I am truly blessed with mine. The Psalm 83 "Inner Ring" Solidifies

22 December 2010: This report began as an assessment on current events in the Middle East that I sent out as an Email to several Christian brothers on 13 December. The text of that Email follows.

"Subject: Israel - The Ultimate Joint Islamic Cause

Among the "inner ring" Psalm 83 nations only Egypt's publicly vehement opposition to the Shi'a Islamic regime in Iran appears to be intact. And that might change suddenly with an Islamist al-Ikhwan al-Muslimuun (Muslim Brotherhood) victory (coup d'etat) over the Mubarak regime in Cairo.

Syria, Lebanon, Gaza(Philistia), and certain elements within the West Bank are all benefactors of Iranian "assistance" in the continuing and ever increasing confrontation with Israel. Now Jordan, in the person of its reigning monarch, King Abdullah, made it clear yesterday (12 December) that the Hashemite Kingdom intends to follow the lead of its Sunni Arab brothers in reaching out to Iran. This is a stunning and totally out-of-the-blue reversal of Jordanian foreign policy vis-a-vis the Islamic Republic. Why and why now?

Jordan's king wants improved ties with Iran

Excerpt: "The Jordanian (Royal Court) statement quoted Abdullah as saying it was "imperative to undertake practical steps for improving Jordanian-Iranian relations in the service of both countries, their brotherly people and joint Islamic causes and to consolidate security and stability in the region."

Assessment:

I believe this reversal is based upon the Islamic imperative that confrontation with and destruction of Israel is the ultimate in joint Islamic causes. Consolidated security and stability within Dar al-Islam (land of Submission) cannot occur as long as Israel, a/k/a/ Dar al-Harb (Land of War) exists within the Islamic crescent. Tehran's rapprochement with Amman cannot occur as long as its unilateral peace agreement with Israel remains in force. Thus Jordanian abrogation of the agreement may occur without notice or upon the flimsiest of pretexts. Jordan sees what exists to its north - from Iran to the Mediterranean Sea - an Iranian-led and armed to the teeth coalition is intent on vanquishing Israel in the near term. Jordan, the Hashemite Kingdom, set itself up as the guardian of Islam's holiest shrines - from Mecca to Jerusalem - and over the course of recent history has lost both, the former to the Saudi's and the latter to the Israeli's. I believe this underlies King Abdullah's decision. It is an attempt to restore the Hashemite Kingdom's Islamic legitimacy and honor.

King Abdullah wants to save his kingdom - he's very aware of the near disaster his father faced in 1970 when the "Palestinians" nearly took the kingdom for their own. "Bloody September" is the root cause of the Lebanon we know today, and the Jordan. Abdullah is making sure the Palestinian's have their own state so that they don't want his."

Thus can we clearly see a palpable real-world and real-time solidification of the very appropriate "inner ring" nomenclature coined by Isralestine author Bill Salus. King Abdullah has no other option but to consign Jordan to the confederation of nations which have prophetically uttered in their native Arabic language, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, That the name of Israel may be remembered no more.”

It was in no small way that I was a little more than slightly surprised this morning to see the secular Israeli website DEBKAfile publish an article (Jordan winds down military-intelligence ties with Israel) which reiterated the primary points I'd made in the above assessment. We've "closed the loop" so to speak at the tail end of the year 2010 A.D. and beginning of the Jewish year 5771.

On a related note rgarding Psalm 83, verse 8 (YLT):

"Asshur also has joined with them; They have helped ("zĕrowa`") the children of Lot."

Asshur was and is Iraq.

The first part of the prophetic verse above begins in the present and relative to the discrete time period of 1947-2003 (i.e. Asshur also has) and tranistions to a past tense (they have helped...) in its conclusion. The "Selah" at the end of verse 8 is a musical crescendo, it is an exhaltation!

In the period of 1947 to 2003 the Iraqi military precisley fulfilled the role of Asshur as assigned by Asaph. Precisely, and specifically to a 'T'. In fact, Saddam Hussein's clan/family hailed from that former northern Iraqi/Assyrian territory. Iraqi support and direct involvement with the sons of Lot (Ammon and Moab = Jordan) and the whole Arab League's war of annihilation against Israel is precisely what Asaph was speaking to. British-trained Iraqi generals led the pan-Arabic armies in the wars of 1947-47, 1967 and 1973.

Iraq (Asshur) last struck at Israel in 2001 with Saddam Hussein's Scud missiles, and I remain open to the possibility that the past tense of Psalm 83:8b may yet be future, that Iraq may yet assist in some token manner in the coming final battlefield engagement. For that engagement I make note that both Iraqi officers and enlisted are U.S.-trained and equipped professional soldiers. They very well could provide highly-prized assistance or augmentation to Jordan's U.S.-made and trained armed forces in the final battlefield engagement.

Additional Asshur/Iraqi "zĕrowa`" provided to the "children of Lot":

Iraq provided training, logisitics, sanctuary and finance to the Abu Nidal "Palestinian" terrorist organization;

Iraq provided significant financial aid and assistance to HAMAS;

Iraq hosted the Palestinian Liberation Front (PLF) under Abu Abbas in Baghdad (of SS Achille Lauro/Leon Klinghoffer infamy);

Iraq paid the families of "Palestinian" suicide bomber cash rewards of $10,000 for each act of mass-murder of Jews and martyrdom. This amount was raised to $25,000 in 2002. The cash was transited directly via automobile from Baghdad to Amman, Jordan along the 10 Freeway and on to the West Bank paymaster Mahmoud Besharat.

The Iraqi Salman Pak terrorist training center specialized the terrorist arts of aircraft, ship and train hijacking, IED and VBIED production, sabotage and assassination.

My final note on this is to recognize that this is an interpretation which could only be fulfilled in this last 'end times' generation, the generation which has witnessed the budding of the Fig Tree.

Vigilance for the Holidays and Beyond

22 December 2010: Once again the Christmas and New Year holiday season is upon us. Unlike last year when Al Qaeda attempted, and thankfully failed, to blow an American airliner out of the sky on Christmas day, this year Al Qaeda in Iraq have a standing terrorist operations order to carry out attacks against Christian churches across the globe: “All Christian centers, organizations and institutions, leaders and followers are legitimate targets for the mujahedeen wherever they can reach them.” This includes the United States and Canada.

Recent AQAP terrorist plots discovered in the UK that are linked to Anwar al-AWLAKI are reported to have targets that include landmarks, public areas, shopping centers, hotels, restaurants and, last but not by any means least, our food supply. The ages of the terrorists primed to carry out these attacks are said to range from their late teens to early twenties.

The persistence of reports citing planned Mumbai-style terrorist attacks remains a primary concern for Europe and well as North America. Most recently, alerts were issued for a type of terrorist the Northeast Intelligence Network has long cited as being highly prized Al Qaeda recruits, the so-called “lily white” terrorists. This group of “white jihadists” is known to exist since two of them were recently killed while in training for their assignments by just one of the nearly one hundred C.I.A. Predator drone attacks in the northwestern Pakistani region of Waziristan this year. The two who were killed were among many “white jihadists” known to have been in training there.

So, the war goes on. Life goes on. And we each in our own way, where ever we live, work, travel and enjoy recreation and good times with family and friends in this holiday season and beyond need to be fearlessly vigilant to the Islamic enemy coming at us from any and every direction. Arab Muslim’s exhibit sickening delight over Israel fire: A Psalm 83 Connection?

I believe these fires, along with the words of the Muslims themselves quoted below, are directly related to the imprecatory prophecy found in Asaph's Psalm 83, particularly verses 4 and 14-15, and as they relate to the sum of the prophecy and its potential timing of ultimate fulfillment. -Sean Osborne

4 December 2010: In what is being described as the “most serious environmental disaster” in the history of Israel, the raging fire has caused at least 42 deaths, the evacuation of over 17 thousand people and destroyed over four million trees. According to a short statement by Israeli authorities, the fire was not a case of arson but of negligence, which is somewhat at odds with initial reports that that the fire had at least three separate points of origin that is suggestive of arson.

Regardless of the cause, the fire has been devastating – to the absolute delight of the Islamic communities in the Middle East.

Researchers of the Northeast Intelligence Network have been monitoring Arab news sources and web sites and forums sympathetic to Muslim terrorists. There have been dubious claims of responsibility for the conflagration, with the latest coming from a previously unknown group calling itself the “Lions of the Mujahideen in Palestine.” According to a statement posted on a web forum used to broadcast messages allegedly from Osama bin Laden, the group stated that they started the fire. According to the statement, the group set fire to the trees and dried brush at Mount Carmel between late Thursday and early Friday, [performing] “a holy and heroic expedition within the territory of the usurpers.”

Perhaps of equal importance consists of the Muslim response published on the forums and in response to news items, especially in the foreign press. Comments originating from all parts of the globe consist of a stomach-turning exuberance by the very people who claim their religion is one of peace. Much like the Muslims dancing in the streets in celebration of the 9/11 attacks, there is an unbridled joy among many that Israel is burning. Muslim prayers are being offered to Allah in thanks and for increased carnage, not only to Israel, but to any Arab Muslim who assists in extinguishing the fire.

The following reflect a few examples of Muslim sentiment from posters in the Middle East, Europe, Asia and even North America:

“Praise Allah for this new Holocaust!”
“Allahu Akbar! This is an effective weapon. We call on our Palestinian
brothers to set fire to all forests.”
“This fire is the result of prayers from our prisoners held in occupation
jails. The fire of Hell will be even stronger. May those Arabs who are helping
the Jews burn with them in Hell.”
“May Allah punish all Arabs who helped put down the fire.”
“Oh Allah, destroy Israel and all enemies of Islam.”

In addition to such printed reactions, there have been numerous references to the text of some Friday sermons held in mosques in Arab countries and even some in the U.S. that are metaphorically fanning the flames of hatred against Israel and the Jews. Muslim religious leaders are claiming that Israel is being punished for their “occupation,” and promise more destruction and death to come.

UPDATE 16 January 2011: Israel Tests on Worm Called Crucial in Iran Nuclear Delay

1 December 2010: Speculations on Stuxnet’s national point of origin have run as rampant as the trojan malware has within the Iranian nuclear weapons infrastructure since the discovery of the super cyber weapon by the Belarus security firm VirusBlokAda on 17 June 2010. The vast majority of those subject-matter-expert commentaries leading corporate media-driven speculations have centered on Israel and its secretive military intelligence Unit 8200 as that point of origin.

One of those so-called experts, Richard Falkenrath, a former Senior Director of Policy and Plans with the United States Office of Homeland Security, was on Bloomberg Television as recently as September 24 pointing a very accusative finger at Israel. When asked directly by the interviewer what were the chances that the United States was the nation-state of origin Falkenrath responded(at the 1:57 mark of the linked video), “It is theoretically impossible that the U.S. government did this, but in my judgment it is a very remote possibility. More likely is, frankly, Israel. That Israel did it.”

Richard Falkenrath needs to have a conversation or two with his former government peers, or at the least with the New York Times’s David E. Sanger about an article he wrote a full 17 months prior to the discovery of Stuxnet. Published by the Times on 10 January 2009 Sanger’s article, headlined “U.S. Rejected Aid for Israeli Raid on Iranian Nuclear Site,” clearly references the United States as the point of origin of Stuxnet during the last year of the administration of President George W. Bush..

Quoting Sanger’s article:

“President Bush deflected a secret request by Israel last year for specialized bunker-busting bombs it wanted for an attack on Iran’s main nuclear complex and told the Israelis that he had authorized new covert action intended to sabotage Iran’s suspected effort to develop nuclear weapons, according to senior American and foreign officials.... The White House denied that request outright, American officials said, and the Israelis backed off their plans, at least temporarily. For all of two years now the big remaining Stuxnet mystery has been hiding in plain sight, and now the operationally deceptive embedded “fingerprints” within the lines of Stuxnet’s code suggesting an Israeli origin are moot. And, for their part, the Israeli authorities don’t seem to have any problem with such misdirection exercises. The Israeli’s might even consider them to have some inherent entertainment value. From an intelligence perspective they do have that quality.

Interestingly, it was also the New York Times’s David E. Sanger who also informed the world in another article, published 29 September 2009, of a team of Symantec researcher’s discovery of a Stuxnet project string code driver (b:\myrtus\src\objfre_w2k_x86\i386\guava.pdb) that contained an apparently ingenious “paternity” reference to Israel linked to the Book of Esther. This article was published just five days after Richard Falkenrath’s accusative Bloomberg TV interview. The Book of Esther tells the story of how the Jews in ancient Elam overcame a Persian plot to annihilate them and instead turned the tables on their enemies and were granted the power to preemptively annihilate their enemies anywhere in King Xerxes realm.

It just so happens that ancient Elam is the same modern day geographical location for most of the crown jewels in the Iranian nuclear weapons program. Now that’s a brilliant touch of flair the American creators of Stuxnet should receive an award for. And now it can be said that the US has finally taken a step towards rectifying all of the acts of war Iran has committed against the US since 1979 as well the murders of our Marines in Beirut and other American heroes in Lebanon.
