I imagine you share my frustration with that one. Here's something else I'm sure you'll find quite interesting as it demonstrates how plain the scriptures are on the pretrib harpadzo. True story by the way. Someone at work who knows I'm a Christian and studies the bible one day asks me mockingly "don't you get scared when you read revelation about all the bad stuff that's going to happen"? I simply quoted revelation 3:10 and he understood immediately that I wasn't going to be here for it. Keep in mind he knows nothing about the bible or the rapture except that revelation is filled with "really scary stuff". I simply quoted that verse and he understood immediately. Why can't "scholars" get it?hartdawghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14554733830775640375noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8373186484944191934.post-26910317353568047652014-07-07T15:19:44.274-04:002014-07-07T15:19:44.274-04:00By the way, Jay Parini is also totally incorrect w...By the way, Jay Parini is also totally incorrect where he wrote, "Catholics discount the idea (of the Rapture) completely."

From a Catholic website:

"With respect to the rapture, Catholics certainly believe that the event of our gathering together to be with Christ will take place, though they do not generally use the word "rapture" to refer to this event (somewhat ironically, since the term "rapture" is derived from the text of the Latin Vulgate of 1 Thess. 4:17—"we will be caught up," [Latin: rapiemur])."

Most Catholics believe the Rapture/Harpazo will occur after the tribulation of the 70th Week.Sean Osbornehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16635416157001117844noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8373186484944191934.post-88099504152114169562014-07-07T14:48:31.372-04:002014-07-07T14:48:31.372-04:00Brian,

So predictable, yet he confirms what I wrote in this article -- the scoffers have no alibi, they are 100% aware of the Harpazo yet have determined for themselves that it is nothing for them to be concerned about; that only "fundamentalist Protestants" believe the Harpazo will occur prior to the 70th Week.

Of course, they could not possibly be more wrong in their rejection of the Harpazo. I especially liked this article about the rapture. How timely it is. CNN posted a commentary Sunday from a writer who mocks the rapture and says Jesus wouldn't agree with it.

See: http://www.cnn.com/2014/07/06/opinion/parini-rapture-real/index.html?hpt=hp_c2

What crazy times we live in! Such should be rejected as false teaching simply because it is.

The Genesis 6 frame of reference:

In the example of the destruction of the whole Earth by the Flood, Noah's ark is used as a type of Harpazo. The ark saved an elect few and went up prior to the flood just as the pre-70th Week Harpazo will save an elect.

The flood was brought as judgment upon the Earth (Genesis 6) because of the angelic host which followed Satan in rebellion and left their first estate, came to the earth and raped women at their will to create the race of human-angelic hybrids, known as the Nephilim. This corruption of the earth (Genesis 6:11-12) of the Adamic race of mankind that God had created had to be wiped out because of the wickedness and evil that was inherent in them.

However, Noah was perfect in his generations (his lineage to Adam) and so were his sons,(Genesis 6:9), and they were saved in the ark, which is a type of Harpazo that will occur prior to the destruction of the earth by fire in the 70th Week.

There is no reference to homosexuality in Genesis 6, just of corruption, wickedness and evil.

Back to Jesus' Olivet Discourse in Matthew 24:

The words in Greek within Matthew 24:38 are gameō and ekgamizō which are specific to a man marrying a woman, and the woman's father giving her to the husband in that marriage.

Elsewhere in the Bible we know that homosexuality is viewed as an abomination unto God; it is a Satanic corruption of God's intent in the creation of Adam and Eve to populate this Earth.Sean Osbornehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16635416157001117844noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8373186484944191934.post-49482065973814209872014-07-07T00:16:55.443-04:002014-07-07T00:16:55.443-04:00Sean, I've heard some prophecy teachers say th...Sean, I've heard some prophecy teachers say that "giving in marriage" may be an indication of homosexual marriage. Otherwise, why the distinction between "marriage" and "giving in" marriage? It's an interesting speculation. What do you think? For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

It does not get any clearer than this why the moment the Harpazo will occur is unknown to anyone until the very moment that God commands that it occur.Sean Osbornehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16635416157001117844noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8373186484944191934.post-37286663174921347852014-07-06T14:36:24.690-04:002014-07-06T14:36:24.690-04:00Here's something that I found quite interestin...Here's something that I found quite interesting, and it demonstrates that Satan and even a few new agers are aware of the rapture. This morning I saw a car with the coexist sticker on it, a modern pagan symbol in my opinion, and right beside it was a bumper sticker that said "come the rapture, we'll have the world to ourselves". That makes me wonder if these neo pagan earth worshippers are aware of the rapture. This car had a lot of earth first type of stickers on it as wellhartdawghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14554733830775640375noreply@blogger.com
