Israel is a Nuclear Superpower

2 November 2011: Succinct and to the point. Israel has apparently tested an upgraded version of its Jericho III missile this morning. The Jericho III, a/k/a the YA-4, is a full-fledged ICBM capable of putting a 1,650 lb nuclear warhead onto a target 4,350 miles away. A slightly smaller warhead or pair of warheads could be delivered via low earth orbit anywhere on the planet. The Jericho III is also road mobile.

Israel is a nuclear superpower.

  1. Sean,

I keep hearing that Netanyahu is pushing for the Knesset to OK a pre-emptive strike on Iran. One assumes this would be designed to cripple Iran's nuclear program, perhaps an EMP strike.

At the same time I keep hearing rumblings about incidents along the Syrian, Lebanese broders, and increased Hamas aggression in Gaza. I also heard that Erdogan (PM of Turkey) is sponsering another "Relief" flotilla bound for Gaza that launched in the last 24 hours.

My question is this, do you think it is possible that this talk of a unilateral strike on Iran could be a red herring for Israel to get the international media off thier backs long enough for them to clear the decks and deal with Hamas, Hizballah, Syrian Baathists once and for all (kind of like the Psalms 83 prophesy)? Last July you had stated that the "Arab Spring" could very well lead to an "Arab War in Winter", think this might be fitting in with those thoughts?

    You Friend in Christ,

    Drew

  2. I know I began reading your post earlier on Bible Prophecy blog on this subject but it was much longer. Am I dreaming or did you shorten the present page?

I got an update from Debka File regarding the test firing and I haven't taken time to read it completely. Today seems to be full of "Alerts, alarms and SUDDENLY" things going off like fire alarms on 4th of July.

Beside which, I began the day with reading Psalm 68 again. Whew! Keep your wits about you Sean and know that the shout is about to happen.

  3. Grany,

No Ma'am, I have not edited the length of this entry.

I was going to place this news as an update to the Jeremiah 49 entry, but felt it deserved to be an entry all on its own accord.

  4. Drew,

I was hearing the same kind of stuff this morning. As Bibi's cabinet debated the Iran preemption scenario this Jericho III test was successfully completed.

I do think the initial phase of such an operation will include Non-Nuclear EMP (NNEMP), however, according to Jeremiah 49 it rapidly escalates from there.

I think this talk of a strike on Iran is the real deal. I agree with former VP Cheney - Israel will strike Iran, either alone or as part of a coalition.

  5. Thanks for the Up-Date Sean. For what it is worth, I agree with your answer to Drew.

The strike on Iran is NOT a "Red Herring" in my humble opinion. The threat from a nuclear Iran is far and above more of a threat than fully armed Hezbollah, Hamas, Syria and Jordan. I think that when Yisra'el strikes Iran, they will have to strike fast and hard, cause as you know Iran, Hezbollah, Syria, Lebanon, Hamas, and now Egypt and Jordan are part of a NATO like coalition or defense pact. Thus when Yisra'el attacks any of them, the rest will launch all out attacks on Yisra'el. With this in mind, and Netanyahu and his military leaders all know this is the situation they face, so when they hit Iran, they have to hit, and hit it decisively, but then be immediately ready for attacks on all sides, initially with a massive missile, rocket and mortar attacks!

As you said Sean, a "Rapid escalation" in scope and enemies engaged. I do believe it will be the Psalm 83 event fulfill, and possibly several others - Obadiah 17-21, Isaiah 17, etc. Again, that is my humble opinion. And I really don't think we have long to wait... perhaps before the end of the year.

    Blessings and Shalom,

    Maranatha! Mark

  6. This DEBKAfile report is most interesting and paints the potential for a literal fulfillment of Jeremiah 49:34-39 and Isaiah 17.

Well worth the time to read.

  7. I agree. I read the reports on www.debka.com, and things are definitely stirring and it does look like something is about to happen very soon... one way or another.

    Thanks again, and Blessings,

  8. I just read the news on DebkaFile and those in the government that were against an independent attack on Iran are now in favor. Things are heating up and we all need to be in constant prayer for Israel.

  9. I am searching for independent confirmation of the DEBKAfile report that Meir Dagan, Gabi Ashkenazi and Yuval Diskin, heros to the Israeli Left that they are, have suddenly changed their views due to an updated briefing on the Iranian nuclear threat.

Nothing at all found so far. The DEBKAfile report might be a PsyOp; purposeful disinformation.

What I have found is the Israeli Left, as in Ha'aretz writer Gideon Levy, describing Israel's leadership thusly: "Insanity, not logic, guides Israel's leadership"

Levy wrote: "The mens' men who are threatening Iran now are the real cowards' cowards."

    And this...

"And so Israel is threatening to bomb Tehran before it is too late, and many Israelis are even in favor of doing so. But the debate now underway, with terrifying seriousness, about the possibility of bombing Iran makes one suspect that it is actually here, in Israel, that lunacy prevails. The Iranian lunacy has yet to be proven; in Israel, it is already as plain as day."

  10. SEAN,
Do you think it is lunacy that Israel even consider an attack?
I was very much alive, aware of what was taking place in fairly new nation of Israel before the Six Day War and no one gave Israel a chance of a snowball in hell of turning back all of the powers that lined up to destroy her. I remember watching on TV when the Jews took back the city of Jerusalem and the Jewish men praying and crying at the Western Wall. I cried right along with them and I will continue to stand with Israel until my last second on earth.
What seemed stupid to the 10 spies that Moses sent out to scout the Promised Land were totally wrong but this is not the same scene. I am still digging in Isaiah to see what God has to say about it.
It would be a matter of "is God directing the thinking of Netanyahu camp or not?

  11. No, I do not think it is lunacy for Israel to consider striking Iran. It is never lunacy to confront an enemy which seeks your annihilation.

However, that said, the Iranian nuke problem is more than just Israel's problem to deal with. But Israel will act, and very soon, if others do nothing about it.

  12. I think we're about to see a final round of sanctions against Iran's oil - imposed by US and European nationas but not passed by the UN.

Why this step wasn't taken years ago is beyond me but the process has been very slow.

When this inevitably fails I think we're looking at military action sometime next year.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Well... if Iran does in fact have a working R265 implosion generator and enough fissile core material for just one warhead addressed to Tel Aviv... then next year might be too late.

If Israel's current government has been convinced that this technical situation is indeed fact or soon-to-be fact, it cannot wait much longer to act preemptively.

  14. Isaiah 54:17 tells Israel " No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
    You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD,
And their righteousness is from Me,”
    Says the LORD.

Sounds like a nonending promise from Jehovah Jirrah.

  15. Next year might indeed be too late but hasn't Israel already pushed their luck by waiting as long as they have?
I thought it likely that Bush would strike Iran in 2004 before his first term ended, and here we are 7 years later.
We've pushed our luck with North Korea as well. That situation could lead to disaster also.

  16. As Great Grany 5 noted above Isaiah 54:17 is extremely relevant to the current and future situation.

In fact, the whole of that text applies.

  17. Sean,
my thoughts exactly. As I was searching this morning I kept hearing the Holy Spirit leading me to Is. 54 and there it was. When God starts taking out the enemies of His Chosen ones, we had better line up in agreement with Him.
The Blessing (Shalom) of the Lord is on Israel and no mortal man can curse what He has blessed. Numbers 23: 3 Then Balaam said to Balak, “Stay here beside your offering while I go aside. Perhaps the LORD will come to meet with me. Whatever he reveals to me I will tell you.” Then he went off to a barren height.
4 God met with him, and Balaam said, “I have prepared seven altars, and on each altar I have offered a bull and a ram.”
5 The LORD put a message in Balaam’s mouth and said, “Go back to Balak and give him this message.”
6 So he went back to him and found him standing beside his offering, with all the princes of Moab. 7Then Balaam uttered his oracle:
    “Balak brought me from Aram,
the king of Moab from the eastern mountains.
‘Come,’ he said, ‘curse Jacob for me; come, denounce Israel.’
8 How can I curse those whom God has not cursed?
How can I denounce those whom the LORD has not denounced?
9 From the rocky peaks I see them,
from the heights I view them. I see a people who live apart and do not consider themselves one of the nations.
10 Who can count the dust of Jacob
or number the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and may my end be like theirs!”
11 Balak said to Balaam, “What have you done to me? I brought you to curse my enemies, but you have done nothing but bless them!”
12 He answered, “Must I not speak what the LORD puts in my mouth?”

Iran can threaten, torment and say all manner of evil against Israel but the truth of the matter is already stated in Scripture. NO ONE CAN CURSE WHOM GOD HAS BLESSED.

  18. All,

Just thinking out loud here, something I suppose I do on this blog at times!), but what if Iran decides that an Israeli attack is going to happen and happen soon? Would they feel desposed to launch a pre-emptive strike of their own? Could we see Irani rockets flying toward Tel-Aviv shortly? Has anyone read anything about this possibility, and how probable do you think this might be? Could they give the go ahead to their Hizballah proxy's Syria, and by extension Hamas to launch an attack against Israel? That to me may might be a spark that would be the Psalms 83/Isiah 17 war. Any thoughts?

I do think that it is inevitable and only a matter of time until the world sees mushroom coulds over the middle east. I hate it, but I don't see a way to avoids it, short of divine intervention, at this point. I think we might ought to spend much time in prayer about what is about to happen!
