Global SITREP A6-15: Russia Continues the Invasion of Eastern Ukraine

22 January 2015: Russia continues its military invasion of the Ukraine with very recent developments being the focus yesterday of Bill Gertz' "Inside the Ring" column at The Washington Times. Here's a quote of the column's first two paragraphs:

"Russian military forces are crossing into eastern Ukraine in larger numbers, according to Phillip A. Karber, a Georgetown University professor currently on a fact-finding tour of the region.

“Things are really heating up — five Russian armored task forces crossed the border in last 60 hours, a force of about 75 main battle tanks, 100 infantry fighting vehicles, 100 other armored vehicles and fifty artillery systems,” said Mr. Karber, also head of the Potomac Foundation."

However, despite the pure military information conveyed regarding the number of new Russian brigades and numbers of heavy armored vehicles within them that have crossed into Ukraine on the side of the rebels, it was the above image at the head of the column that caught my attention. Specifically, its the flag on the rear of the Russian 122mm self-propelled howitzer (2S1 Gvozdika) in the above image. This image was taken by Associated Press photographer Mstyslav Chernov on Wednesday, 21 January near Slovyanoserbsk in central Luhansk Oblast (Eastern Ukraine).
This flag closely resembles the design of Confederate battle flags of the US Civil War era, such as General Robert E. Lee's "Army of Northern Virginia" or the "Army of Tennessee," and that "southern" aspect may have been an inspiration behind the design of this flag (this is southern Ukraine after all), but that would be the dead-end of any resemblances.
This is the adopted flag of the new country this invasion and dismemberment of Ukraine by Russian forces is intended to create. This is the flag of "New Russia." While you may have seen references in news reports last spring about the rebel forces fighting for something called the Donetsk People's Republic, all that had changed as of last May at the first congress in the city of Donetsk when the state of "New Russia" was announced.

The Crest of "New Russia"

The intent of this invasion is to seize the entirety of southern Ukraine, from our NATO ally Romania's border in the West to Kharkiv on the Russian Federation border in the East, for incorporation into this "New Russia." Politically, the founders of New Russia are Russian nationalists and extremists; neo-Nazi's, fascists and virulent anti-Semites. Their political platform is Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf on steroids, and their ultimate goal, with the resurgent Russian Federation military doing the heavy combat lifting, is the creation of a vast "Eurasian Empire" to "save the people's of Russia from degeneration and outside attack."

So, here we have a Russian self-propelled artillery unit disguised as a "New Russia" self-propelled artillery unit in maneuver towards a fighting position in Eastern Ukraine against the Ukrainian Army defending its own sovereign soil. The deeper "Gog" sends his troops into this war against Ukraine the deeper the Lord's hooks will go dragging them out of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal to their deaths on the mountains of Israel in the not-too-distant future.

  1. Sean, do you think this invasion
has anything to do with Obama's, caught on camera remark, "I'll have more flexibility in my second term?"
Does America help Gog? We know this president is an enemy of Israel!

  2. Rhonda,

Yes, Obama's agenda has enabled Putin to commence with his military adventurism, first in Crimea and now in Ukraine. This is just the beginning.

Does America help Gog? No, not directly, Ezekiel;s prophecy is clear on the who, what, when, where and why. However, Obama's abdication of America's leadership caused a power vacuum which Putin was more than ready to begin exploiting to the fullest.

  3. Sean, I was just refered to your blog. thank you for the information. In talking with my pastor friends in Ukraine, they say that there is not a return to the Lord as there was during the orange revolution. This is extremely sad, for I do not forsee the hand of the Lord protecting Ukraine as he did the previous time. Success for Putin in this venture will give him boldness against Israel.
I spent 11 year teaching there at a Bible Institute.

  4. Thank you for the inside scoop on the situation with the existing bride of Christ inside Ukraine. Let us all pray for them, and may they all come out of their homes preaching the Good News of Salvation in the Blood of the Lamb while there is yet time to do so.

Ezekiel foretells that Gog of Magog will have hooks (plural) placed in his jaws by the LORD God to turn him around from going in one direction and drag him south to the mountains of Israel for an annihilating military judgment. Given the current situation and the objectives of Russia at the present time... the literal fulfillment of Ezekiel 38/39 is not far off.
