Global SITREP E6-16: Damascus and Syria

"I love Damascus" sign in Damascus, Syria 31 OCT 16 (Nabih Bulos/Los Angeles Times)
18 December 2016: The above image was published in the Los Angeles Times on 31 October 2016 in an article reported directly from Damascus, Syria by Nabih Bulos on that date. The headline for Nabih Bulos' article: "In Syria's capital, the civil war suddenly seems far away." A second panoramic image from the same article appears just below.

In the above image the view is to the north, facing Mount Qasioun in the background. Mount Qasioun has been the site of numerous strikes by the IAF during this and previous years. More importantly, and to reinforce what has been covered in previous SITREPs, these images taken just 49 days ago in central Damascus vividly illustrate that this city has not yet filled the prophetic words of Isaiah 17:1.

Behold, Damascus will cease from being a city,

And it will be a ruinous heap."

Nor have the prophetic words of Jeremiah 49:25 come to fulfillment.

"Why is the city of praise not deserted, the city of My joy?"

The point of this is to even more vividly illustrate that Damascus is precisely in the condition which immediately precedes its cessation from being a city; its becoming a ruinous heap, and Syria, contrary to ongoing media reports, is itself well within the process of fulfillment of the end of the dynastic Al-Assad kingdom which rules it.

Jeremiah 49:26-27 continues where verse 25 left off:

"Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets,
And all the men of war shall be cut off in that day,” says the Lord of hosts.
'I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus,
And it shall consume the palaces of Ben-Hadad.'"

These verses point backwards from verse 25 to the events occurring this year in northwestern Syria, in the very locations specified in Jeremiah 49:23, the region from Hamath (modern Hama) to 'Arpad (located adjacent and north of what is left of modern Aleppo). Therefore, contrary to the teaching going around that Damascus has already attained "ruinous heap" status, we stand at this time of being in a position to witness the literal fulfillment of Isaiah 17 and Jeremiah 49:23-27 in real-time should the LORD God tarry further in sending His Son to collect His betrothed.

  1. Hey Sean, just a quick question. Do you have a problem if I share some of these posts via text messaging? My phone allows me that option.

  2. Sure, absolutely. In fact all are free to share these posts by whatever means that are available to them.

  3. How far is alleppo from Damascus?

  4. As the crow flies, just over 190 miles. By car, if that is still possible, just over 4 hours.

  5. Off subject, as of 5:47, LA Times had listed Trump with 304 electorial college votes so all can breathe
easy. The states kept their pledge other than a few from Texas.

  6. Absolutely, I stated weeks ago there was nothing to worry about.

Now, I've got something else to add on the real-world and likely eschatological front while I'm at it.

The Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces sent out a tweet today claiming that Islamic State was claiming responsibility for the attack in Berlin today.

My hope is that everyone here understands that the source of that tweet, the Iraqi Popular Mobilization (Basij in the Farsi language of Iran) Force (a/k/a PMF), is under the direct command of IRGC-Qods Force General Qassem Soleimani.

General Qassem Soleimani reports directly to Iranian Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and serves as the Ayatollah's personal liaison to Russian President Vladimir Putin. It was Gen. Soleimani who personally put hooks in Putin's jaws in Moscow and led him into the Syrian Civil War in September of last year.

These PMF/Basij forces are ethnic Iraqi, Afghan and Pakistani Shi'a jihadists; they are a heavily armed and merciless terrorist force being modeled directly after Lebanese Hezbollah, the most forward deployed of the IRGC's forces on foreign soil. The war crimes of slaughter and other atrocities of Sunni civilians in Aleppo is the handiwork of the PMF/Basij. The overall plan is that once they are mission complete in Syria they are earmarked for expeditionary warfare against Israel along with Hezbollah and IRGC regular forces and IRGC-QF special forces.

However, they may first have to contend with an opposing force such as that prophesied to appear in Jeremiah 49:34-39.

  7. Sean, Back in Jan.2015 many senior Iranian officers became KIA by the IDF, the Iranians only burned a few Israel flags. Is that part of their motivation, besides their hatred of Israel, to make a move now? If so, they have been very patient.

  8. Sean, I'm a bit confused as to why the group in Eze. ask the question.
Ezekiel 38:13“Sheba, Dedan, the merchants of Tarshish, and all their young lions will say to you, ‘Have you come to take plunder? Have you gathered your army to take booty, to carry away silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods, to take great plunder?’ ” ’

Were they at peace with Gog?

    Is Gog breaking some agreement?

I just don't get why they have that reaction. Countries have always conquered for spoil.

    1. In an earlier SITREP I wrote that at the time the Western alliance - which includes Israel - with their Arabian allies would likely be militarily far superior to the Magog Confederation, so that their questions are asked the sense of total incredulity... as in, "Are you kidding me?!"

The time in question is after Isaiah 17, Psalm 83 and probably Jeremiah 49:34-39. Israel is secure, a regional nuclear super power. Israel fears no nation on earth; is living safety and security, no walls, bars or gates.

      Make sense?

    2. Thanks for the reminder, I do recall reading that before in a Sitrep and it does make sense. I look forward to it being in the past. Thanks.

  9. ....And do you think there's any prophetic significance to the so called assassination of Russia's ambassador? I just heard about it but not sure how accurate it is. A lot of misinformation out there

    1. The assassination is likely an Islamic State one-of-a-kind, a hit on a target of opportunity.

Clearly the Russian Ambassador's personal security was compromised. He apparently was out in public wiyhout a security detail, which I find to be mind-bogglingly ridiculous.
