Global SITREP C3-18: Dara'a, Quneitra, the Israeli Golan and Damascus - Part II

AP Photo 16 JUL 18 of Bashar al-Assad "Victory" poster in Old Damascus
25 July 2018: This SITREP will serve as the continuation of SITREP B10-18 with Damascus as an additional point of eschatological focus.

Contrary to what some prophecy teachers may be saying, as of this date Damascus, Syria has not yet seen the fulfillment of Isaiah 17:1 come to pass. The above Associated Press photo, taken a week ago Monday in the old city section of Damascus, is the entrance to a "Palestinian Arts" souvenir shop. To the entrance door is attached Bashar al-Assad's "victory" poster. He, and his Russian and Iranian allies want the people of Damascus, and the whole of Syria, to believe the war has been won and Bashar al-Assad is personally victorious.

Nothing could be be further from the soon to be manifest prophetic truth of Isaiah 17 and Jeremiah 49:23-27! The reality now is that Bashar al-Assad is essentially the titular vassal puppet king of Syria; his stature is maintained by Russian combat power, supported by Iranian Revolutionary Guards-Qods Force militia and Hezbollah of Lebanon. Syrian military forces are but a shell of what they were just 7 years ago. The Syrian Army's troops are mostly Hezbollah and Shi'a militia from Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan under IRGC-QF General Qassem Soleimani's command. These troops man a front line in southern Syria from Dara'a, across the northern Golan to the slopes of Mount Hermon.

Another dose of reality was poured out on al-Assad, the Russians and Iranians a day ago when a Syrian attack jet moving at a very high velocity penetrated the 1974 Seperation of Forces Line B, and continued a little over a mile into Israel's airspace, when it was immediately shot down by a pair of the IDF's Patriot air defense missiles. The pilot of the Syrian SU-22 'Fitter' was killed; his body allegedly captured by Islamic State (IS) forces on the Syrian side of the southern Golan.

Yarmouk River basin in tri-border region of Israel, Syria and Jordan.

Let's consider those IS forces in the triangle formed by the Israel, Syria and Jordanian border for a second. This is the Yarmouk River basin, and it is very rugged territory. Flushing IS forces out or killing them in place within this natural defensive redoubt will never be accomplished by any amount of Russian or Syrian airpower. Steep, sheer cliffs, deep ravines, near vertical inclines and destroyed bridges mark its entire length. Eschatology Today would speculate another crisis point will soon present itself when chemical weapons are used for the dislodging purpose by the Iranian militia commander. The Yarmouk River flows south and becomes the Jordan River.

Soon, if not as soon as full "Syrian administrative control" is so to be restored over its part of the Golan, Israel will be free to begin a wholesale assault on the Iranian-led forces all along this frontier. The reason for this is as stated above and stands to be repeated for emphasis. Syrian administrative control in any part of Syria is a fantasy; it doesn't truly exist; it is an Iranian charade. It has been true for some time now that the Bashar al-Assad government has no real power and Syria as a country is a failed state. Also deserving of a repeat: Syria has no real, coherent army which it commands and controls as the rebel factions destroyed it some time ago. What was left fractionated, and any semblance of a cohesive force was due to the embedding of Iranian Shi'a proxies and Lebanese Hezbollah. These are the forces wearing Syrian uniforms in Quneitra and Dara'a running up to the Israeli and Jordanian borders. They are Iranian forces under Brigadier General Qassem Soleman's command.

Someone studying Isaiah 17, verse 3 in particular, might recognize that the proverbial stage is set for a very specific fulfilment: "The kingdom from Damascus, And the remnant of Syria."

  1. Lo and behold, not long after this SITREP went up a Syrian missile overflew the same Yarmouk basin I referred to above, and impacted the southern part of the Sea of Galilee (Lake Kinneret) not far from HaOn.

  2. This is why it is CRITICAL that the Syrians (Iranians) DO NOT put chemical war heads on their missiles. A wayward missile like this one could have made impact on a Galilean town like Giv'at Yo'av, Ne'ot Golan, Kfar Haruv or Kinneret itself.

    Bye bye Damascus.

  3. It was 2 missiles that were fired and impacted the Sea of Galilee.

IAF struck the Syrian missiles launch TEL while IDF artillery saturated the surround area with heavy fire.

  4. Sean,

I was reading at this time of year that whole Sea of Galilee area is a HUGE vacation getaway too. Can you imagine the anger if they chem drop a bunch of innocent vacationers???

They are holding the match quite close to the fuse at this point!

  5. The CRITICAL aspect referenced above may have not registered as was hoped for.

NOTE: This is WAY above and beyond all other considerations - so please do not post off topic comments, they will not be allowed.

This past Sunday a squadron of IAF jets attacked an Iranian chemical weapons development facility in Masyaf, Syria. Serious damage and the deaths of many Hezbollah and IRGC-QF troops was the result. Israel cannot send a stronger warning than this short of all-out war.

Make no mistake folks, Iran appears on the verge of using Syria as the launch pad of a large missile-borne chemical weapons attack on Israel. Iran is leading all ground combat operations in Syria.

Any missile or projectile coming across the border from Syria - NO MATTER WHO FIRED IT - is regarded as intolerable aggression and will be responded to with extreme prejudice (i.e. unrestrained lethal force). Stay focused.

  6. Sean,

Any truth to reports of US plans to strike Iranian nuclear sites in near term? Could this potentially trigger a full scale IRGC-QF attack on the Golan?

  7. If you're thinking "no news is good news," or that things have suddenly gone quiet, I assure you that neither of these is true. We're essentially waiting for the proverbial "other shoe" to drop in Syria.

Actually, it could be two to three shoes which could suddenly drop. One is in the northwestern Syrian town/region of Idlib, a second would be along the Israeli-Jordanian tri-border region with Syria near the al-Wehda Dam on the Yarmouk River, and a third is the east at the U.S.-led CJTF-OIR base at Al-Tanf in the tri-border area.

  8. Joe's comment follows:

"Your trained eye on Israel see’s more than the average joe. What a breath of fresh air it is to frequent your site for insight that you’ve due diligently already sifted and filtered through with your gifted background and discerning eye to last days events.  I find it interesting that what your saying is most certainly credible, yet nothing can be found to fill a layman’s appetite on the subject of Syria, Iran, Russia and Turkey with respect to Isaiah 17, Ezekiel 38 within the vast sea of the media.  Of course they are blind to the apocalypse as is Israel.  That is why I say it is so refreshing.
    Isaiah;
Woe to the multitude of many people, which make a noise like the noise of the seas; and to the rushing of nations, that make a rushing like the rushing of mighty waters!
The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling thing before the whirlwind.
And behold at eveningtide trouble; and before the morning he is not. This is the portion of them that spoil us, and the lot of them that rob us.
Phew, thank you Sean, for exposing the light on a very dark nation."

  9. My pleasure Joe! There were some small issues which have now been cleared up - everything is back to normal.

  10. "Make no mistake folks, Iran appears on the verge of using Syria as the launch pad of a large missile-borne chemical weapons attack on Israel."

Would Iran be so careless knowing Israel could launch small nukes? What other scenarios could kick off the big war? I thought back in '06 with Gaza that that was it. How will we know it is Psalm 83?

  11. Rich,

The Islamic Republic of Iran, led by a regime of Shi'a Hojjatieh Twelvers, could not care less about Israel's nukes, large or small. All they care about is creating the chaotic conditions they believe are necessary for their occulted Mahdi to appear. They believe a chaotic war with Israel would exactly suit their eschatological requirements, the larger and more destructive the better.

The world know Psalm 83 by the end results prophesied by Asaph, Isaiah and Ezekiel.

  12. Sean, I'm reading ISIS has now been kicked out of the Golan, if this is true, the twelvers are right Israel's door.
Also I read Russia has cashed out about 80+ percent of their U.S. security holdings. It could have several meanings...will see.

  13. Jmoll,

Whoever is reporting that IS has been purged from the Yarmouk Bssin and Dara'a region is being very premature with that.

IS has adopted asymetrical or guerilla tactics vice holding ground. They continue to attack across the region.

  15. "The world know Psalm 83 by the end results prophesied by Asaph, Isaiah and Ezekiel."

What does Ezekiel have to do with the Psalm 83 War? Are you saying that both wars are one and the same?

    Thanks

  16. Rich,

It looks like you urgently need to read the whole of the Book of Ezekiel; there's a lot more to it than just the 38th and 39th chapters. (Ditto for the text of Isaiah 11 which also deals directly with Psalm 83.)

Case in point... Ezekiel 28 has EVERYTHING to do with Psalm 83. And more specifically Ezekiel 28:24-26, which prophesies the situation before and immediately after Psalm 83 has fulfilled...

“24 And there shall no longer be a pricking brier or a painful thorn for the house of Israel from among all who are around them, who despise them. Then they shall know that I am the Lord God.”

... and up to the point regarding the specific conditions which Ezekiel 38 prophesies will exist immediately prior to the attmepted Magog invasion:

25 "‘Thus says the Lord God: “When I have gathered the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered, and am hallowed in them in the sight of the Gentiles, then they will dwell in their own land which I gave to My servant Jacob. 26 And they will dwell safely there, build houses, and plant vineyards; yes, they will dwell securely, when I execute judgments on all those around them who despise them. Then they shall know that I am the Lord their God.”'"

I have included these prophetic verses in an effort to expedite your study of biblical eschatology. Dig into His Word; there's a lot more within it for you to learn. :)
