Global SITREP D6:19: A Syrian Precedent With Overtones of Ezekiel's Prophecy

U.S. Forces Secure Oil Fields in Eastern Syria
6 November 2019: For several months we've heard about the U.S. forces in Syria east of the Euphrates River were being brought out, only to find out that they stayed, built several bases and were defending the Kurds. Then in October we learn again that out troops were coming home, only to find out days later they were redeploying into Iraq, and days later that even heavier U.S. forces were moving into eastern Syria to defend a whole lot of oil fields that our forces supporting the Syrian Kurdish Forces (SDF) had captured in destroying the ISIS caliphate east of the Euphrates River.

President Trump correctly decided that fighting over that desert was not in America's interest; that's it's been fought over for thousands of years by the groups of people still fighting over it right now, so our troops were going to have no part in that forever conflict. So American forces were not going to defend the Kurds after three years of fighting side by side with them. Then, in a real stunner, President Trump announced, "...but we have the oil." And within hours of that announcement we learn that significant U.S. armored forces were rolling into Syria from Iraq to seize the vast oil fields that cover the desert all along the Iraqi border.

Let me ask something that might be of critical interest to us. Doesn't this remind us of what Ezekiel 38 has prophesied about the vast Magog military confederation which will one day soon swoop down upon a wealthy and secure Israel "to take plunder and to take booty"?

Has the U.S. just now become engaged in taking plunder and taking booty from Syria's eastern oil fields? And then look at Iraq and realize that this taking of oil plunder and booty is exactly what Iran has been doing in Iraq for months that has the entire population of Sunni and Shi'a Iraqis in open revolt against the Iranian Ayatollah and his military forces?

Yes, there's a whole lot of plundering and booty-taking going on in Syria and Iraq. This appears to be setting a precedent for the prophetic future in Israel we've been studying and drilling down on in Ezekiel 38/39 for years now. Plundering and the taking of booty is no longer some obscure Old Testament language any more, it's right here, right now in our faces, and even the United States of America is participating in it!

This realization hit me today out of the clear blue like a ton of bricks. What do you all think; what do you have to say about sudden new reality?

  1. Sean, I know that some have issues with JD Farag's take on Ezekiel 38, but in light of this post I find it interesting that when JD quotes Ez 38:13 (KJV) of the nations protesting "Art thou come to take a spoil?" he always mentions that he once heard someone say that "if you take the S and P out of 'spoil' you are left with 'oil'"

I've been a lurker for years but your realization prompted me to comment and if I'm off-base I value correction. Thank you for all your work and insights and may our blessed hope come for us soon!

  2. The point of this is not to examine umpteen different exegesis/eisegesis on Ezekiel 38/39.

It is simply to point out that plundering for war booty is now a matter of fact in the Middle East.

  3. Sean,

For some reason right now it just feels like so much is going on and yet nothing is going on! I feel the fatigue!

  4. Ken, Alot is going on, but our media is preoccupied with nonsense and lies so they don't report the truly important news.

  5. I vaguely remember him saying that but my take was that he was speaking of protecting it from Assad, Putin, and Iran, not "taking" it for U.S. use. Am I mistaken? I realize that our country has strayed FAR from God but I pray we aren't going to actually become agents against His chosen...

  6. My take on President Trumps’s declaration that “we have the oil”, was that the US was guarding it for Israel, right now with this President we are Israel’s protector. The plundering is going to happen obviously but the Bible doesn’t say the young lions are together with the coalition that tries to take Israel’s oil. I thought the US was energy independent anyway?

  7. I can almost hear Russia now, "if the USA can plunder, so can we", thus "setting a precedent".
I recently helped my wife put together a 1000pc puzzle of Fenway Parks Red Sox stadium. After 50 years of watching them and having the picture on the box, it still took a determination to detail to fit it all together and occasionally remove a piece that was put in wrong (usually by me). You keep finding subtle pieces Sean, keep up the good work!

    1. Jmoll,

I cannot claim finding this piece.

It would be more correct to say that this realization was presented to me out of the clear blue. It came from very vivid REM sleep "movies" for lack of a better term.

When these occur I simply must post a SITREP within hours of their occurence.

Folks then do with the posted info what they will.

  8. Did we forget about the part where Trump spoke of "perhaps, make a deal with ExxonMobil or one our other great companies..." Doing that would cost $$Billions. Big Oil does nothing for free.

This is the recent headline - quoting President Trump - from the Jerusalem Post: "What I intend to do, perhaps, is make a deal with an ExxonMobil or one of our great companies to go in there and do it properly ... and spread out the wealth."

Trump's plan for Syrian oil has nothing to do with Israel, zip, nada, nothing. This is taking of spoils from which we and the Kurds will profit.

And this also has absolutely nothing to do with the Western "young lions" being with the Magog coalition in taking Israel's oil.

However, the prophecy Gabriel gave to Daniel does indeed reveal that those same "young lions" during the 70th week of years under Antichrist will take Israel and the entire region except for a small part of present-day Jordan.

The US is #1 in the world in oil. It just got a tad bigger with Trump's announcement last Sunday.

    The precedent has been set.

  9. Then it’s even worse than you think. . God doesn’t see Israel’s borders as the ones on the current map. He knows the true borders of Israel and they include Syria and more, they make that Bell shape. All the oil found in Syria in reality belongs to Israel.

    1. Rhonda,

Actually, no, it's not worse than what has been presented here to consider.

The oil in Syria IS NOT "in reality" on Israel's covenant land.

Israel's covenant land does not include any land EAST of the River Euphrates.

Read Exodus 23:31. This verse defines the land covenant.

And then take in Deuteronomy 30:4-5, in asking yourself this question to answer:

When in the past did Israel's forefathers possess any land EAST of the River Euphrates?

  10. Why are some of the brethren so shocked about the USA seizing those oil fields in Syria? According to my current knowledge it’s not the first time that the USA has done that with foreign oil fields.

    1. Nora,

Some American brethren may be shocked because the U.S. Armed Forces have never before taken Middle Eastern oil fields as a spoil or prize of war.

  11. I deleted all of my "headlines" comments made yesterday; they were just an example of the things going on KenB mentioned, but our media barely mention in passing or say nothing about at all.

Our media is agenda-driven with biased spin added instead of news-driven to report clear facts.

    2. Hartdawg,

      Honestly, I lost count.

To their credit FoxNews did report on the rocket attack on Qayyara Air Base south of Mosul, and they're keeping up with the anti-Iran and anti-corruption revolt raging in Iraq's cities.

    3. What do you know about Netanyahu saying he can't rely on Trump to deal with Iran? More Fake news?

    4. That comes from BusinessInsider and alleges Tru.p won't act on Iranian nuke breakout until after Nov 2020 election.

      I don't buy it.

    5. I didn't either. When I heard that something just didn't seem right but I couldn't find any real information on it except that a bunch of people ran with it. Such days of deception we're living in today

  12. Sean, did you read Daymond Duck’s article today on the Rapture Ready website? Could you give me your thoughts on the following excerpt from his article.

“Incidentally, I am usually reluctant to report something like this, but a highly respected and very influential Christian with ties to Pres. Trump and Israel, Mike Evans, believes Pres. Trump will recognize a Kurdish nation on Iraq’s border with Iran sometime between now and Christmas.”
    Thank you, Robin.

Trump may recognise independent Kurdish state - analyst

      2019-10-25

U.S. President Donald Trump has a plan to recognise a sovereign Kurdish state in Iraq to counter Iran in the region, Middle East analyst and founding member of the Trump Evangelical Faith Initiative Mike Evans said on Friday.

The Kurdistan Region Government (KRG) had an independence referendum in 2017, with 92.7 percent of the 3.3 million votes cast in favour of secession. However, Iraqi government responded severely, including a military campaign to retake much of the disputed areas, including the oil-rich city of Kirkuk, that had been under Kurdish control since the emergence of ISIS in 2014, as well as shutting down the two international airports in Erbil and Sulaimani.

"President Trump loves to say 'Merry Christmas,' so don’t be surprised if he announces a Christmas gift for the Kurds. A sovereign Kurdish state on Iran’s border, coupled with US military might, would be checkmate – not only to Iran but also to the Iraqi government, which has treated America with such disdain," Evans said in an article for Jerusalem Post.

With the decision to withdraw U.S. troops from northeast Syria which paved the way for a Turkish offensive in the region, Trump "has given Turkey what they wanted before he recognizes a sovereign Kurdish state," the analyst said.

    1. Guffmulder,

      It may be!

Back in 2016 we discussed this prophetic future in a couple of SITREPs, specifically as it relates to... "Isaiah 19:23-25 clearly foretells the rise of a new nation north of a greater Israel in the near future."

The prophetic Assyria will be on Israel's northern border, on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River.

  16. To continue from above... this reminds that there isn't a question we may ask that hasn't already been answered in Scripture from 2,000 to 3,000 years ago.
