Global SITREP A2-24: The Point of No Return

IRGC-QF Drones

UPDATE 09 February 2024: This update to SITREP 02-24 is likely the final to be posted; SITREP 03-24 appears to be on a fast track.

Multiple U.S. retaliation strikes for the deadly Tower 22 Jordan attack by IRGC-QF and its proxies have not made any difference with respect to deterrence of further attacks. There have been a minimum three UAV strikes on US bases within the past 36 hours which primarily targeted US and Coalition troops quarters. Making no mistake and no nuances, we are by and definition at war with Iran and its IRGC-QF external terrorist apparatus in Iraq and Syria.

From now on there will be no distinction made between the IRGC-QF and its various proxy forces - they're all IRGC-QF. The recent retaliatory strikes the US conducted against the IRGC-QF in the Dier Ez-Zor region, including at least two B1B Lancer intercontinental bomber strikes, did serious damage to their logistics. However, as damaging as they were even those strikes did not destroy the entire IRGC-QF armory. The weaponry that was not destroyed has been relocated to fortifications belonging to Hezbollah along the Syria-Lebanon border. This makes the IRGC-QF also inclusive of Hezbollah in Lebanon and Syria. Apparently the Iranian enemy assesses that the U.S. Biden Administration will not strike their facilities embedded along the Lebanon-Syria border. That may be true, but it will not be an issue for the Israeli Air Force.

Israel's conquest of Gaza, and bold attempt to eradicate HAMAs, PIJ and other terrorists continues apace. Israel's war cabinet has requested the IDF provide a detailed plan for the evacuation of all civilians from Rafah and the way forward to eliminating the remaining minimum of four "battalions" which are assessed to have survived to date.

In the north Major General Ori Gordin, Commander Northern Command, met today with all leaders of the regional councils evacuated along that entire border. Aside of coordination with the civilian leadership, MG Gordin made clear to those leaders the ongoing cross-border conflict will shortly expand into offensive operations in Lebanon to drive Hezbollah, et all, further north to beyond the Litani River. This operation's intent is to prepare for Israeli citizens to safely return to the homes they have evacuated. I think we all can see where this is going.

30 January 2024: Eschatology Today has long interpreted Israel's current war as one which would eclipse all previous wars the country has fought from 1948-1973 combined. That mark has clearly been achieved even without total war with Hezbollah in Lebanon and Iranian proxy forces in Syria frontier having erupted. (All indications from Israel are that an IDF Lebanon operation is very, very close, by the way.)

The Middle East is now at a point of no return to what it was on October 6, 2023. Those days are over, gone forever. The U.S. government is comparing the current situation to the fall of 1973 when the very real possibility of a super power nuclear conflict was at the forefront. Even harkening to the early days of June 1967 when Israel's armed forces were in dire straits and consideration of the Sampson Option was presented to then PM Golda Meir.

We have no doubt that God intervened in both of those very close calls; then was obviously not the appointed time, but many of us remember those days in terms of what Hal Lindsey had written in his global bestseller The Late, Great Planet Earth. The straight fact is, we're up against that threshold once again with staggering prophetic implications written about here since 2009. There's a flood coming.

Marana'tha!

  1. I have assumed that the blank image at the head of this SITREP is worth a thousand words, prophetic and otherwise. There's little ambiguity about a "point of no return." Brothers and Sisters, there's only one Way forward through Christ Jesus and His Gospel. Witness!

  2. Unprecedented operation by Israeli special forces in Jenin. Precise intel led the special forces to enter Ibn Sina Hospital, they were dressed as doctors and nurses at 05:30 AM. They carried silenced weapons and within 10 minutes eliminated three terrorists hiding in a concealed room on the third floor.

HAMAS terrorists hide in hospitals believing Israeli forces won't enter. New paradigm... yes, they will.

    1. No. The attack on US troops at Tower 22 in Jordan, which killed 3 and injured more than 40 others, had nothing to do with Israel so there'd be no need for coordination. There would probably be quiet notification as the response was in progress.

I do expect the US response to be combat ineffective.

  6. I thought everyone would understand why the "point of no return" had been reached. I was wrong about that as I've come to learn.

At this time the military and political weakness in the West is at its highest point. There is no strong, resolute leader in the West. Massive military power absent the lack of a willingness to use it, tactically or strategically, no firm "red lines" or "or else" ultimatum to the enemy, makes the military power just a big show at taxpayer expense. It emboldens the enemy.

Iran, for all of its Shi'a Twelver apocalyptic rhetoric, does not want war at this point because such war would not be on its terms of engagement. The Ayatollah's critical need, just as in the fairly recent case of North Korea, is to demonstrate a real nuclear weapons capability and the means of delivery.

Nevertheless, God is in control, that's the bottom line.

  10. Have the Joint Chiefs given new ROE (Rules of Engagement) to US forces in CENTCOM AOR? Perhaps!

Last night the USS Carney (DDG 64) shot down a Houthi ballistic missile in the Gulf of Aden. This is routine SOP of late.

However, our destroyer then engaged and blew 3 Iranian (IRGC) UAVs out of the sky over the Gulf of Aden.

  12. With Biden pushing hard and reportedly considering unilateral recognition of a de-militarized (yeah, right) Palestinian state, the upcoming eclipse in April takes on an even more ominous portent. I think it was Bill Koenig who compiled a list of the disasters that have struck America every time our leaders promoted measures/policies to divide Israel's land. Sobering. I can remember thinking in 2020 that that had such promise for the Rapture year, and every year since, based on solid reasoning and convergences of signs, but my goodness, how much longer can we be here given the state of the world/endtimes I&W today?

  13. The Kata'ib Hezbollah (KH) announcement of 30 January, noted above, was an attempt to save itself from annihilation in US retribution for the Tower 22 Jordan attack..

The US intends to militarily wipe out the KH instead of holding Iran responsible in keeping the issue from widening the war, a la the "Biden Doctrine."

  14. Early today another airstrike (IAF) on Sayyida Zeinab south of Damascus and Arqada. Another IRGC-QF "advisor" will killed, an Iraqi shi'a fighter and a currently unidentified individual of another nationality. This site is IRGC-QF electronic warfare HQ in Syria; has been several times in recent weeks. So much for the Iranian claim of having withdrawn IRGC-QF officers from Syria.

With the announced US retaliation against KH terrorists in Syria and Iraq pending, now would be a good time to review Isaiah 17 again, but this time in the 1599 Geneva Bible Translation (Bible Gateway) which has excellent footnotes.

In this it appears there's a "past as prologue" connection in Isaiah 17 between the ancient and largely apostate northern Kingdom of Israel and the present-day secular and non-observant Israeli left. You decide.

    1. Wow, Sean, thanks for that recommendation. The GNV seems to paint a fuller picture of what is going on in the whole chapter--and yes, it definitely appears reminiscent of the current situation in the ME . God's first choice is always to bless us into His kingdom, but if we continue to go our own way, depending on our own abilities and resources, out of His great love for us He will use all pressure necessary to bring us to repentance. I get the sense from the whole chapter that the destruction of Damascus is caused by God, not man. In Amir Tsarfati's last novel he depicts the destruction of Damascus by an earthquake, not military armaments/might. God but shouts and waters flee. Regardless, God will fulfill His word and it cannot be much longer now.

    1. ALL Iranian sponsored militias in Iraq and Syria have been targeted in the first of several rounds of strikes. The strikes also include strikes on IRGC-QF HQs, logistics depots, communication hubs and troops. Strikes includes sorties of B1 bombers from their bases in the US and elsewhere. These are heavy strikes with precision weapons. These strikes look to be forced demilitarization of IRGC-QF and its proxies, to degrade them if not nuetralize their offensive combat capabilities.

This has a huge benefit for Israel!

It remains to be seen if Iran will retaliate as promised since the IRGC-QF is being hit very hard.

    2. The US strikes are heavy and run a high risk of having the opposite effect of their stated purpose of not widening the war.

    3. Definitely!! You take what you can get when you're in Israel's position. Obama needs to make his shadow regime look 'presidential' in an election year, before they change out old Joe. They were careful to make sure they leaked the plans publicly though (to CBS), to give the top (Iranian etc.) HVT personnel an opportunity to evac ahead.

Since the IRGC-QF militias attacked Tower 22 on Jordanian territory there are reports that the Royal Jordanian Air Force was also given Shi'a militia targets to strike in southern Syria.

Jordan has been striking the cross-border IRGC drug smuggling operations near the "cities of Aroer" (Isaiah 17) and in Syria proper for weeks now. Drug smuggling into Jordan is one way Iran's proxy militias from Iraq fund their operations. A page right out of Lebanese Hezbollah's playbook.

    1. amazing they could manage to kill 40... the only thing they didn't do is announce where they would target in the last week

      Delete
    2. The time of the strikes, roughly 10 - 11 PM start ensured a minimal loss of life. The initiation of the strikes on seven specific targets was announced to the Iraqi government.

The considerable amount of stockpiled Iranian-made ordnance, rockets, etc., etc., that subsequently cooked off in secondary detonations only increased the scope and lethality of the U.S. and Inherent Resolve Coalition retaliation.

      Delete
    3. POST-STRIKE ANALYSIS:

There was nearly a week between the Tower 22 attack and the US retaliation strikes, but the US announced the retaliation would occur immediately after the Tower 22 attack. That's a minimum of 120 hours advance warning to the enemy.

Biden also announced in advance the US would not directly strike in Iran. Big mistake!

The IRGC-QF and Shi'a militia targets were 100% weapons and ammo storage depots; the largest was a 20 bunker complex north of Dier Ez-Zor, Syria. It no longer exists, but big whoopie!

      Bottom Line:
The US avoided striking enemy troops directly; this deters nothing the Shi'a Twelvers want to achieve.
The US is led by the same leftist ideologues who gave us the Afghanistan debacle. They have no idea how to deter (i.e. defeat) an avowed enemy.
Iran will simply deliver more weapons and ammo to the IRGC-QF and proxy militias in Iraq, Syria and Yemen.
The net result of these strikes only guarantees a wider and more destructive war in the Middle East!

      Delete
  19. Aside of the CJTF-OIR (US-led) airstrikes in Iraq and Syria, the US and UK have also been simultaneously pummeling Houthi targets in Yemen virtually non-stop in the past week. Thirty-six strikes on a wide array of military targets have occurred in the last 24 hours alone.

In the last four years the Lebanese pound has lost 98% of its value. The government allows bank withdrawal of just $150 per month, which equates to a daily subsistence level of $5 per day. 2. Bro Steve, and all:

It is here, at this specific point I believe, that we can "close the loop" so to speak. This is something that goes back to the very beginnings of Eschatology Today blog.

We're witnessing in real-time the conflict that will result in the fulfillment of Ezekiel 28: 24-26, and that in turn goes directly to a "past as prologue" template for the building of the Third Temple, the Temple of God's Two Witness and the Abomination of Desolation of the False Prophet and Antichrist. I am referring to the 2009 post titled "When Will The Third Temple Be Built?" The template is 1 Kings 5:1-5 and the dialog between King Solomon of Israel and King Hiram (Tyre/Sidon) in Lebanon. Verses 3-5 are the key.

      Delete
    3. Bro Sean: In other words - When there is no more 'pricking brier' - and there is resultant 'rest on every side' - Israel would logically be able to address the Temple issue with proper focus. That also seems to be about the time that those red heifers will be ready? Is that in line with your take? Bro. Steve

      Delete
    4. Bro Steve,

Precisely, the direct connection between Ezekiel 28 and 1 Kings 5 is unmistakable, God-breathed.

And the red heifer aspect is like another advance notice on the nearness of these prophetic scriptures being fulfilled.

We've noted within the past few months that a rabbi has procured a location on the Mount of Olives, directly across from where the 2nd Temple stood and the 3rd will stand, for the ritual sacrifice of the first red heifer. Currently this purification ritual is scheduled for April 2024, or about 2 months from now. Those purification ashes make everything else for the 3rd Temple possible.

  25. Hosea 6, James 5 and Paul's 1 Thessalonians 5 all speak to this; Hosea primarily to the Jews and James, Paul to Christians.

Hosea 6 is linked to Ezekiel 39:29.

The rains (former and latter) are a reference, as James explains, to the patience of a farmer who prepares the ground and plants seed. The farmer cannot make it rain, so he waits on the Lord for the former rain after the planting (Fall) and then waits on the Lord for the latter rain (Spring) which results in a bountiful crop and the fruit of the crop.

We're in "that day" of the latter rain. Absolutely!

  35. Sean, I join the chorus of thank yous. While I follow several different watchmen/women sites that cover interesting valid considerations from other perspectives--celestial, geological, in-depth biblical searches--all of which make some insightful connections among all the various dots, I still come back to this one as the bedrock, if you will. While other approaches have validity, "the sign is not the event," (necessarily, one day it will be), the "signs" I watch most carefully are the ones associated with geopolitical events within a biblical framework. So in that regard, yes, thank you for your due diligence over all the years. Like many, I didn't get to be an avid watcher (always on the lookout, ofc, but not avid, daily looking) until the Revelation 12 constellation of 9-23-2017. I agree with Dr. Mike Evans that October 7th was not so much a HAMAS sneak attack as it was an Iranian preemptive strike against Israel to distract Israel from its nuclear weapons program which is just a hair's breadth from completion.

If Israel completes the destruction of HAMAS within a month or so, and Iran needs a little more time to build its nuclear weapon, then for sure Hezbollah and proxies in Syria will make war on Israel in their gambit to keep Israel preoccupied.

    2. That 'threat' carries an ominous undertone of one or more attacks using non-conventional ordonnance >> with Isa. 17 as the likely resultant outcome for the perpetrators. We at ET know the ultimate outcome for those threatening Israel. Pray, witness - and hang on to your hats. Bro. Steve.

    3. Based upon the very public warnings (threats, actually) that Israel has been sending to Hezbollah and Lebanon's political establishment for many months now, it's not Israel's ordnance they should worry about, but their very existence as a sovereign nation. Joshua 13:1-7 remains unfulfilled.

    4. Bro Sean - I forgot to include that passage!! Thank you. Esp. v.6, which states with absolute clarity that the Lord himself will personally drive out all the 'Sidonians' from the 'mountain regions'. We may well be witness to a number of highly anomalous environmental events (weather; geological) when the northern front goes fully active. It has happened in recent memory. Bro Steve.

    1. Yesterday Ohio Republican Rep. Mike Turner, the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, requested the de-classification of intelligence regarding a "serious national security threat." Crongress has been briefed in a SCIF below the Capitol.

The crux of the threat appears to be collected intelligence about the Russian military planning to put a nuclear weapon into earth orbit.

  47. Navy F/A-18 fighters wings embarked on the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower cruising international waters are carrying the heavy combat operational load of strikes on Yemen's Houthis and other Iranian proxies in Iraq and eastern Syria. The US is getting significant assistance from UK fighter wings based on Cyprus. Nevertheless this places undue strain on allied pilots and ships crews and their families at home. Expecting the IKE CSG to be relieved by another CSG soon.

This is due to several regional allies, such as the UAE, placing restrictions on US aircraft launching strike missions from airfields on their territory. The Arab street in these Muslim countries have purely "islamic" issues, they don't differentiate in any meaningful way between their western allies attacking Iranian Shi'a terrorist proxies in Yemen, Iraq and Syria from Israel striking Shi'a terrorists in Gaza, Lebanon and Syria. Abraham Accords -bah humbug. "Infidels" attacking Muslims of any sect is a purely islamic red line, unless those attacks are to defend the ruling (non-democratic) regime of their country. This was not a major issue for Muslims during the 1991 Liberation of Kuwait or Iraqi Freedom of 2003-2010.

  48. An observation – Susa (the ancient city of Shushan mentioned in the book of Esther) was the capital of Elam. Yes, that Elam, which is mentioned in Jeremiah 49. The festival of Purim (the celebration of the events detailed in the Book of Esther) occurs on Saturday, March 23 this year, about 5 weeks from now. That may be a date to watch for some sort of meaningful event. In the meantime here is a song about Purim: Jews refer to the events of Esther as a “hidden miracle” because Esther is the only book in the Bible that does not contain the name of God. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgJInVvJSZg

    1. Mordecai makes it very clear in the Book of Esther that God positions people in specific roles at specific times to accomplish His will.

This is an extremely appropriate fact to be mindful of at all times, but especially right now.
