Global SITREP D9-14: Going ... Going ... (soon to be)Gone!

Dome of the Rock, Temple Mount, Jerusalem

FINAL UPDATE 21 October 2014: Brothers and Sisters in Christ, it seems as though the point of all this may have been missed. We're not getting it, so to speak. Many of us complain that their pastors do not teach prophecy. Okay, so they're not fully teaching the word of God. So why are they still your pastor?

Under the title of this 'Eschatology Today' blog are the words "Current world events seen through the clarifying lens of the Lord's inerrant prophetic word." The Lord's inerrant prophetic word. I teach Bible prophecy on this blog, through current events especially because so very much of the imminent fulfillment of Bible prophecy is about military conflict and the weapons of modern warfare. These are the finer details of the bigger picture that has already been given to us by God.

Allow me illustrate my conclusion that "we're not getting it" by asking a question. Is there a more perfect word than what God has already given us in the Holy Bible? Or would it be better if I were to quote directly from the English Standard Version of The Second Epistle of Peter ? "And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts."

What of these future things have the prophetic words of the Lord failed to inform us about? Do we really need more books and DVDs on the subject of Bible prophecy, or do we really need just to read and study what the Lord has already put directly in front of our eyes in virtually every language of mankind?

Yet many of us say, "we will not be here to see these things, we cannot know how they will come to pass."  Not true! We have already seen them occur through the fully confirmed prophetic word of God!

In the prophetic Book of Daniel we are instructed point blank about the person and ethnic origin of the man who will be the Antichrist. There is no mystery about that man. This was absolutely confirmed in 168-67 BC via the exploits of the Macedonian-Greek king of the Seleucid Empire, Antiochus IV Epiphanes, the ultra-specific forerunner of Antichrist. And of the coming 70th Week, what part of that yet future event was not precisely foretold to us via the historical events of the 7-year long war from 66 to 73 AD that was neatly divided into two distinct halves between the Roman Empire and Israel? We won't be here to witness the European Antichrist or the 70th Week of Israel? Not true, we already are witness to these events because God has told us about them in great detail and has shown us through the historical record how they will happen in the future.

And the 3rd Jewish Temple, is that construction on Mount Moriah in Jerusalem going to be some kind of exception to the already established prophetic word of God?  Of course not.  Are you still not sure about what is going to happen in the near future fulfillment of Bible prophecy? Are you still not "getting it?" Then read about it in the historical record, and be mindful of the Apostle Peter's unambiguous instruction which I shall once more repeat in a slightly altered paraphrase: The fully confirmed prophetic word of God which you do well to pay attention to as a lamp in a dark place until the Harpazo takes place.

17 October 2014: We know from Bible prophecy, such as the verse from Jesus' Olivet Discourse in Matthew 24:15 and the angel Gabriel's earlier prophecy of Daniel 9:27, that the structure occupying the physical site of the first and second Temples on Mount Moriah continues to exist on time borrowed from God the Father, just as the Bride of Christ's continued presence on this earth is based upon His Supreme Authority alone.

However, it's been some time since I have seen jihadist muslims exhibiting a palpable fear of the inevitable demise of the Dome of the Rock. This notice came in the form of two articles this week at YNETNews.com.
The first was Wednesday, 15 October's "Powder Keg on Temple Mount" by Assaf Kamar, and the second is yesterday's follow up published by Reuters News Service, "HAMAS leader urges Muslims to defend Temple Mount mosque from 'Israeli takeover'."

The physical disappearance of the Dome of the Rock from Mount Moriah, only to be replaced by the third and final Temple to be constructed by human hands, is essentially the LORD God declaring His eternal sovereignty over Jerusalem and the Mount for His sovereign people, the whole House of Israel. This inevitability is expressed in modern parlance in the title of this SITREP, as "Going... Going... (soon to be)Gone!"

Then what? Then the conditions will be right for the 3rd Temple, the 70th Week Temple, the temple of the final Abomination of Desolation, to be constructed. Israel will have secured national sovereignty over the Mount to construct "the temple of God," or "naos Theos" in the original Greek written by John of Patmos in The Revelation of Jesus Christ, chapter 11, verse 1. The Greek word Naos refers only to that part of the physical, measurable temple structure on Mount Moriah in Jerusalem which contains both the Holy of Holies and the Holy Place. The Greek word Theos, refers specifically to the Godhead Trinity, that is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The LORD God.

Jewish men will construct this 3rd Temple in absolute accordance with the positive commandment given to them in ancient times by God on Mount Sinai the day after Yom Kippur. According to the Temple Mount Institute, the Lord's commandment to rebuild the temple is "one of the 613 mitzvot, the commandments that Israel is perpetually obligated to fulfill." It has been a binding obligation to rebuild the Holy Temple upon every successive generation of Jews since the destruction of the last temple in 70 AD. And as it is written in 1st Chronicles 28:19 per David's instructions to Solomon in building the 1st Temple, “All this,” said David, “the Lord made me understand in writing, by His hand upon me, all the works of these plans.” And follow these plans they did and will do so yet again in our time!

All of the vessels of the Holy Temple are an integral part of its full construction, and its physical design is detailed within the Tractate Middot of the Talmud Bavli (Babylonian Talmud) and conforms to the dimensions, characteristics and attributes of the Second Temple begun by Zerubabbel in 538 BC, precisely 70 years after the destruction of the Solomon's Temple by Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon in 587 BC, and completed in 515 BC. This completion is fully celebrated in Ezra 3:10, and so pleased God that He prompted the prophet Haggai (Haggai 2:23) to present Zerubabbel with a special blessing: "On that day, declares the LORD of hosts, I will take you, O Zerubbabel my servant, the son of Shealtiel, declares the LORD, and make you like a signet ring, for I have chosen you, declares the LORD of hosts."

Notice something in the above two paragraphs. There is nothing here from the Christian perspective. Not a single word in any interpretation of prophecy, nor is there any distinctly Christian perspective. There is just the written commandment of God carried out by His people. There is no Christian interference in something uniquely Jewish! And so shall it be with the rebuilding of the coming Holy Temple, by Jewish hands and in strict conformity with Divine instructions.

It is most interesting to make an important note of fact here that none of the Holy Temple instructions in the Book of Ezekiel are 100% relevant to what the Jews will soon be rebuilding on Mount Moriah. Most of the 2nd Temple's construction was after the 1st Temple that Solomon built, with only certain aspects of Ezekiel's Temple (Chapters 40-43) included in the overall design as it represented a far future Temple. That fact would make the full application of Ezekiel's prophetic instructions specifically relevant to the future post-70th Week Temple, the Holy Temple of Jesus' Millennial Kingdom, and the time when very specific geographic and topographical considerations as described will become totally fulfilled in the very act of the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

  1. I'm of the belief that the dome will be destroyed in the upcoming Russian/Islamic invasion described in ezekiel 38&39

  2. Hartdawg,

How about as "collateral damage" prior to or during the final battle of Psalm 83?

I cannot see the Sanhedrin allowing an islamic shrine to remain over the Holy of Holies for one day after "Allah" bites the dust when Pslam 83 is fulfilled. The Jews will be following Moshiach ben Yosef at that time.

  3. Personally, I don't believe God would have allowed the muslims to build their shrine on His holy ground, where the first and second temples were. It is my understanding that over the long history of Israel, landmarks were hidden so the site of the temples were also hidden.
I agree that the Dome of the Rock, the horrible eye sore it is, will be destroyed by God in a not to distant future war. Then God will show the Jewish people where to place their third temple. It is also my belief it is the Gishon Spring that will help them find the true location. The Gishon Spring was used in their animal sacrifices.

  4. Sean, I am of the same opinion, I suspect the Dome is more likely to be a casualty of the Psalm 83 event, than Ezekiel 38-39. It will be interesting to see if our expectations are proven correct. I also suspect that ISIL/ISIS, being Sunni, will be a part of the Psalm 83 coalition, that will be utterly defeated by the IDF.

    Blessings and Shalom,

  6. Rhonda,

With all due respect, the text of the Bible backed up by the historical record present powerful evidence to the contrary.

God has allowed men to do lots of things on what was and will be again the Holy ground of the Temple Mount.

The angel Gabriel refers to these things as "desolations" in Daniel 9:26b

"...and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined."

In 130 AD, just 60 years after the fulfillment of Daniel 9:26a in 70 AD, the Roman Emperor Hadrian built a Roman colony where Jerusalem had once stood and dedicated a pagan temple to Jupiter on the same Holy ground where the Temple had stood. Two statues of Hadrian adorned the new temple, one outside and one inside. Roman pagan rites called for the sprinkling of pigs blood in this temple and on its holy ground. This abonination resulted in the Bar Kochba Revolt of 132-136 AD and ended with the total expulsion of all Jews under pain of death should they dare to enter the new city.

In Byzantine times the Roman temple was converted into an ornate church/monastery that stood on the site until the Sassanid Empire drove the Byzantine Empire out of Judea in 602 AD. The Persian Sassanid Empire gave the Jews sovereignty over the city and they began to rebuild the Temple circa 608 AD.
Then Persian eventually gave the mount's sovereignty to the Christians and they destroyed the partially rebuilt Jewish Temple site into a garbage dump and which is how the muslim invaders under the Caliph Umar found it when they arrived in 637 AD.

In verse 27 the theme of "desolations" is repeated with respect to the Third Temple that is soon to be built, and the image of the beast that Jesus prophesied to us will be stood up in the "Holy Place."

Revelation 13:14-15 tells us that during the 70th Week the False Prophet directs mankind to build an image of the beast.

The Holy Place is a wing of the temple which is before the Holy of Holies.

  9. Just finished the book titled Temple by Robert Cornuke. Daniel 12:4 states that "knowledge will increase ... in the time of the end". Very interesting times we live in. Is the current Temple Mount not the site of the original temples of Solomon and Herod... but instead the site of the Antonia Fortress that the Roman soldiers in Jesus' day were based? Josephus writes that after the Temple destruction in 70AD, he would never had known there was a temple there if he had not seen it there prior to the destruction. Jesus' own words to His inner circle of apostles states "not one stone would be left unturned" ... If I look at the Temple Mount today, I see some stones that are still in tact... and not turned... was Jesus not clear in His statement regarding the Temple destruction? Perhaps a 3rd Temple will be built on the current Temple Mount during the Daniel's 70th week. However, for the Millenium, Ezekiel's Temple (a 4th?) will indeed be built on the site of Solomon's Temple! Interesting points to ponder! Exciting times! Psalm 2 says the LORD sits in the Heavens and laughs...

  10. Rhonda,

This is very important prophecy research that is completely omitted in Dr. Woods article. Pay close attention to this teaching.

Revelation 11:1 (as cited by Dr. Woods in the article you linked) clearly declares that the 3rd temple will be "the temple of God."

These words are a part of The Revelation of Jesus Christ, and as stated in Revelation 1:1, these words come directly from the mouth of God.

The Divine prophetic words given to John of Patmos for the "the temple of God" in the original Greek are naos Theos.

The first word, naos, refers ONLY to that part of the physical, measurable temple structure on Mount Moriah in Jerusalem which contain the Holy of Holies and the Holy Place.

The second word, Theos, refers specifically to the Godhead Trinity, i.e. Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The LORD God.

The Holy of Holies has always been for the very presence of the LORD God once a year on Yom Kippur, the day of Atonement.

Inside the Holy of Holies is the bedrock, yes, that rock, the "Foundation Stone" and around it once again new, highly polished white mezzah stones will be laid by the Jewish men who will build it, and NOT Christian pastors who will very likely have been Harpazoed by that time.

The Holy of Holies will again be a perfectly bult cube just as it had been in the first two temples of God to stand on this exact same site. The exact same spot towards which the Jews have traditionally faced when they pray for the past 1,944 years and counting.

This spot will not change between now and when the 3rd temple is actually built, nor obviously, will it change between the day the construction is completed and the Abomination of Desolation is committed in the middle of the 70th Week.

  11. Sean,

Debka has just extended their offline period (which started 9/15) to early December!

I firmly believe that Debka won't be coming back online until the Iran war is underway!

  12. All I know for sure is you, Sean,
know a ton of history that I have no idea about. Also, you know a lot
more about bible prophecy. The main
source of my thinking that the locations of these temples and shrine are not the same is from a
DVD called "Jerusalem and the Lost Temple of the Jews." Its produced by Ken Klein. In the DVD they speak about the Gishon Spring and how it was used in temple worship, for the animal sacrifices. Anyway, its very interesting even if you don't buy their research. I believe we as born again believers will go in the rapture before the 3rd temple is built so lets let the Jews figure out where to build their temple. To bad they just can't recognize Jesus as their Messiah and true temple. Thanks for all you do!!

  13. Many of these comments were made before I had the time to complete the SITREP in full (All day Friday and Saturday mornings are jam packed with things I have to take care of before doing this work, LOL).

So, I had to answer Rhonda's comment with some of the research info that I had not yet published. But it's all good, and each can believe what we will about the when, where and how of the coming 3rd Temple.

Personally, I think we might still be here to see Israel regain total sovereignty over the Mount, but I pray harder that God takes us sooner because the world is just about imploding with catastrophe begetting catastrophe. Birth pangs for sure!

  14. Tom McSorley asked:

"Is the current Temple Mount not the site of the original temples of Solomon and Herod... but instead the site of the Antonia Fortress that the Roman soldiers in Jesus' day were based?"

The current temple Mount is precisely where the first Temple (Solomon) and the second Temple (Zerubbabel) were located.

After 66 AD there were no Roman troops in Antonia Fort, for they had been annihilated by Jewish warriors in August of 66 AD at the start of the war. So, from 66 AD Antonia Fort was occupied 2,400 Jewish warriors known as Eleaser's Zealots where they remained until the siege of Jerusalem began on Passover, 14 April 70 AD.

The Roman Legio XII Fulminata and Legio XV Apollinaris had their camps on the slopes of Mount Scopus (Har HaTsofim, a/k/a Mount Lookout) facing Jerusalem which lie to the southwest. Legio V Macedonica was nearby on the ridge line, and Legio X Fretensis was camped on the Mount of Olives which lie on the southern end of the same ridge line, but due east and directly in front of the Temple.

North of the Temple/Antonia Fort was the relatively new neighborhood of Bezetha which was crowded by a half-million Jewish Passover pilgrims to Jerusalem.

West of Temple Mount/Antonia was new Town defended by 6,000 troops under John of Gischala, and to the south was Old Town on the Valley of Hinnom which was defended by Simon who commanded 10,000 Jewish warriors and 5,000 Idumeans.

The Roman legions focused their assault on Bezetha.

    Tom also asked:

"Jesus' own words to His inner circle of apostles states "not one stone would be left unturned" ... If I look at the Temple Mount today, I see some stones that are still in tact... and not turned... was Jesus not clear in His statement regarding the Temple destruction?"

Yes, absolutely Jesus was 100% clear in His prophecy! He was God Incarnate when He spoke those prophetic words! They were inerrant; infallible. So, the fact of the matter is that Jesus' prophecy to His Disciples about no stone unturned was specific with respect to the Temple itself... not the platform on the mount, just the Temple.

So the fact that there are still great stones at the Temple Mount today has nothing to do the 2nd Temple itself. There have been other pagan temples to occupy the site in the intervening 1,944 years as discussed previously.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Sean,

Being an architect I will say the "no stone unturned" is silliness and you addressed it. The wailing wall and the stones that are currently there are the foundation and retaining walls.

If a house burns down the concrete foundation stays in tact but the wood framing is completly destroyed. Did the house not burn down?? You can go live on the concrete slab if still want to call it a home... =)

Also the fact that the foundation IS STILL THERE!!!! Is a great spiritual nudge from our Heavenly Father, He has not forgetten His promise! And the temple can and will be rebuilt.

  16. Sean and Ken,
Loved it from both of you.

When I was still young enough to make my trips to Israel, I loved seeing the advancement in efforts to reclaim the historical remains of Israel. Each time we went there were new discoveries and structures in the process of being restored. As you both stated, the Foundations were still there, there was acute discoveries of the way things had been and then the huge job of putting all back together again.
It was something that I always wanted to be a part of but my destination in life did not include being a worker in the reclamation of the ruins of historical sites. That didn't change the fact that these were authentic ruins and the efforts to rebuild and make them somewhat like they were before was done by many hands and minds.
Just like Sean said, the Foundations are there, the ruins yielded up the various stones and work was applied to put the puzzles together again. We don't worship the stones or the stone floors, not at all! We use them to remind us of the beautiful drama that God brought forth there in that Holy Land for all of US.
We really don't need anyone else's book or ideas, or even their far flung delusions to bring us to the firm foundation of God's Holy Writ. We only need the passion and HIS fire to ignite to be more than critics and nay sayers; to become just exactly what Jesus told us to do, Love the Lord God with all of our hearts, minds, and souls, and our neighbors as ourselves. Then get off of the couch, out of chairs, out of our comfort zones, and TELL the beautiful story of the Man named Jesus that Died for them, all of us so that we could become the Children of God. Into all of the world and remember, we can catch more flies with honey than we can with vinegar.

  17. One more note I made and somehow forgot to post.

It's not Gishon Spring, but rather Gihon Springs... yes, plural as there was more than just one spring at Gihon. Moreover, these springs were located quite a distance along the same ridge line to the south-southeast from Mount Moriah and the Holy Temple complex.

The pure water of Gihon was brought to the Temple through the construction (circa 950 BC) of Solomon's very complex aqueduct system, and which was built concurrently with the construction of the 1st Temple. This aqueduct was the "spring" under the Temple that Aristeas referred to in the letter (circa 2 BC) ascribed to him by the Jewish historian Josephus.

The Gihon springs were located south of Jerusalem, between the eastern part of the City of David (a/k/a formerly ancient Salem and Jebus) and the Kidron Valley into which they flowed after the daily gushing. The springs were the main water source for the more ancient City of David.

For whatever their reasons, many adherents or associated sects of the rather bizarre Armstrongite doctrines (i.e. the cult-like followers of the late Herbert and Garner Ted Armstrong) place the Gihon springs directly under the Temple. Armstrongism is based upon man-made myth, and proposes the the UK and the US are the modern inheritors of ancient Israel and David's Kingdom. Pure rubbish.

  18. Sean,

I know I should no longer be surprised by anything the criminals now occupying the WH do, but why such vile toward Israel just days before midterms?

If they want to motivate conservative turnout this is a good way to do it!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Yup, exactly. They've been motivators since '08. Why the unencumbered hatred now? What were Khan's last words (a type of antichrist) in quoting Moby Dick? "To the last, I grappld with thee, from hell's heart I stab at thee; for hate's sake, I spit my lazt breath at thee." This is the same as Psalm 83:1-5 because they hate the God of Israel as much as they hate Israel.

  20. Sean,
I know I exasperated you with some of my comments last week. I apologize. I do want to understand Biblical eschatology better but find it difficult to know how. The books of the Bible pertaining to eschatology are not always easy to understand. Anyway, you're doing a good job. Don't give up, you're doing the Lord's work.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Sean,
What bothers me the most is the fearless attitude the WH personnel has about saying such hateful things about Bibi and Israel all together. Like they really believe they are going to get away with it! Not a question but a statement of fact.

The present administration has not been called to Heel YET on any of the dastardly things it has done so far except for some hue and cry out of the people that they dismiss as Right Wing-nut Conservatives. It is like they truly believe they have this election signed, sealed and delivered. I most sincerely pray that they are so totally wrong that it will send a shock wave through them that will do more than crack their foundations.

And another thing, no matter what kind of a face BHO puts on, smiling, frowning, stern or happy, I DO NOT PUT ANY VALUE IN ANY OF THEM. I have tried so hard not to feel this way but it is of no use what so ever. Evil is walking the halls of the house on 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and has found a welcome mat at almost every door there.

Our hope is not in politics, I know but I am putting my trust in ABBA alone and if I am reading and studying my bible correctly, our greatest weapon is still the Sword of Righteousness through prayer.

  22. Rhonda;

Again, I had no exasperation, but I did make three attempts to respond in the above comments -- and worth repeating yet again for good measure -- to the erroneous teachings of some folks you referenced with what the angel Gabriel prophesied (see Daniel 9:24-27) about the multiple desolations (Hebrew shamem) that would occur on the Temple Mount from ancient times and through to the distant future in which we are living, and on into the near future of the 70th Week.

Those desolations were or are in the order of their occurrence:

    1.)the standing up of an image to himself in the 2nd Temple by Antiochus IV Epiphanes in 168 BC was the first of these desolations;

    2.)the Roman temple of Jupiter (dedicated to the worship of the satanic false god 'Zeus/Jupiter' of Greek and Roman antiquity) that was constructed built on the mount after 70 AD was the second of those desolations;

    3.) the mere presence of the Islamic 'dome of the rock' and al-aqsa mosque in the worship of another false god are another of those desolations;

4.) the setting up of the iconic 'Abomination of Desolation' by mankind at the direction of the False Prophet will be the final of these desolations during the middle of the 70th Week.

Also and based upon Biblical historical sources, such as II Chronicles or I Kings, I explained that the Gihon Spring is located some distance from the Temple Mount; that it's location was some distance to the south of Jerusalem's Old City and Temple Mount in the original 'City of David' and that this spring's water for Temple worship purposes was brought to the Temple Mount by an aqueduct system built by King Solomon; and ultimately proving the Gihon Spring could not and was not the location of either the 1st or 2nd Temple.

I do not get exasperated by exposing erroneous teaching with Bible-based facts, and I will engage in such explanatory exercises every time I see false information being presented, particularly on this blog.

So please do not worry for a microsecond about any of this, I have not given up on anything. I only make full posts to this blog when the Spirit leads, and not-so-coincidentally, over the past day He's been leading powerfully, so the next full post is going up in a matter of hours.

  23. I'm so glad for your response. Thank you and have a good day. I also apologize for spelling the Gihon Springs incorrectly. Yikes!
