Global SITREP C1-18: How Much Longer?

6 July 2018: Most of you regular readers are probably well aware of Eschatology Today's position on where we are on the timeline to the 70th Week; that this postion is based upon Psalm 90:10 (NKJV); and that this verse refers to a final generation, a generation that is living today in Israel.

"The days of our lives are seventy years;
And if by reason of strength they are eighty years,
Yet their boast is only labor and sorrow;
For it is soon cut off, and we fly away."

The oldest individual of this final generation, born in May 1948, this year turned 70 years old. Yes, Israel just celebrated its 70th year of existence. And there are just ten years, by reason of strength, remaining to complete the full 80 years. All of these years, those past, at present and in the near future, are without question prophetic years. We witness prophecy being fulfilled or in the active process of fulfillment on a virtual daily basis.

I recently ran across a recent blog post by our brother-in-Christ Don Koenig that also expresses his belief that the timeline is indeed very short, having entered the final ten years. Don is the owner and of ThePropheticYears website, and one I have been aware of and link to on our mainpage for about the last ten years. Don authored and posted very recently recent a most excellent blog post that I found essential to be linked here for your reading pleasure.

Final decade before the seven year tribulation probably has already begun

We all know that Jesus will come for His bride prior to the start of the 70th Week. Please read Don's thoughtful reasoning on why that blessed day of the Harpazo is closer than many realize. There is no reason for anyone to be unaware of the season in which we live today.

  1. Sean, I thought it was a well written, concise article. It certainly seems that when the bride is removed it will catapult the world into the final years of this age.
In the mean time, occupying 'til he comes.

  3. Good Morning Brothers and Sisters......after reading this, I felt my heart sink deep into my gut. To think we have 10 more years just seems to horrifying to imagine.

    Please pray for me!

  4. VP,

No, that's not the message here.

The message is the nearness of the Harpazo.

For example, if the 70th Week were to commence in 2021, and we're currently mid-2018, and the Blessed Hope occurs prior to that... how unknowingly close are we to that day? Months, weeks days or hours?

By whatever measure, it is short time!

  5. Hello, I have been thinking this over and a different interpretation of scripture has occurred to me: that the metaphor about the fig tree in Matthew may not have only, or principally, referred to the physical restoration of the nation of Israel, but also to their spiritual restoration. We all know that Israel will not be completely spiritually restored until Jesus returns, but many Jews (perhaps more than half, although I'm certainly in no position to guess at a hard percentage) have turned away from God himself because of all the things that have occurred since the second Temple was destroyed. In Isaiah 36, God indicates that the diaspora has caused God's holy name to be profaned in the world. Some of this must be because of their secularism and rejection of God:

22 “Therefore say to the Israelites, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: It is not for your sake, people of Israel, that I am going to do these things, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations where you have gone. 23 I will show the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, the name you have profaned among them. Then the nations will know that I am the Lord, declares the Sovereign Lord, when I am proved holy through you before their eyes.

24 “‘For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land. 25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. 28 Then you will live in the land I gave your ancestors; you will be my people, and I will be your God. 29 I will save you from all your uncleanness. I will call for the grain and make it plentiful and will not bring famine upon you. 30 I will increase the fruit of the trees and the crops of the field, so that you will no longer suffer disgrace among the nations because of famine. 31 Then you will remember your evil ways and wicked deeds, and you will loathe yourselves for your sins and detestable practices. 32 I want you to know that I am not doing this for your sake, declares the Sovereign Lord. Be ashamed and disgraced for your conduct, people of Israel!"

In Revelation 11, after the two witnesses have risen and ascended into heaven, we read that “13 At that very hour there was a severe earthquake and a tenth of the city collapsed. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the survivors were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.” So clearly, there will be a time when many of the Jews will have begun to turn back to God, before they understand who Jesus is.

If Jesus was referring to a stage of the spiritual restoration of Israel in his fig tree description, and not only/exclusively the physical restoration of Israel, their initial turning back to God if you will, despite still not understanding who their messiah is, then we might not be as close to the start of Daniel's 70th week as some may propose.

Also, God's mercy is not limitless (because then he would not be just), but it is very great. And, I believe that the great final harvest of souls is upon us and is going to rock the world in the years to come, before the 70th week starts. In other words, as believers we should not be in "let's hunker down and wait to be rescued" mode, we should be in "on fire for Jesus and let's sound the trumpet of victory and spiritual attack" mode.

Some of the comments here bring to mind the story of Gideon in the book of Judges, who was hiding from the enemy in a well when the Angel of the Lord approached him with this greeting, “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.”

Of a certainty, Jesus will be disappointed if he finds us hiding in a well when he returns in the air.

  6. After reading several other articles by Don Koenig I see he's moved up his estimation. He's definitely a good watchman.

    VP...I will pray for you.

Miriam, I agree with you we should be about our Father's business.
IMHO I have found most saints who are suffering physically or have endured much hardship are hoping the Lord will return now and I get it. I have great empathy for them. Suffering stinks.
I do say a big "AMEN" with you AND GG5 that we should be on the offense with prayer and supplication for our lost friends and families and even those we no like so much.:)

  7. Sean......Dear Brother, First let me apologize for my misunderstanding and an obvious mild but lack of faith. Please forgive me. Things have been quite heavy as of late. I am so blessed to call you my brother.

jmoll106.....Thanks my brother! You are in my prayers as well.

    Love you all!

  8. VP,

No apologies are necessary, and prayers for you as requested brother.

Jmoll did exactly as i though he would do... he read other posts to notice that Don has moved his position on this issue well forward. It was a bold thing for him to say what he said, given the previous disappointments with the predictions I also remember all too well from the great teachers of the 70s, 80s and 90s even. They were especially zealous for our Lord's return, and I'm sure many slid because their forcasts did not pan out. They were accurate but far premature. I have no doubt the Lord has comforted many of them, reassured them by the Holy Spirit.

This is what I pray in Jesus Name for brother VP and all others in a similar situation: that the Holy Spirit will comfort all those in need of comforting, lifting all their hearts and reassuring as Paul reassured the Corinthians.

  9. Sean and all of our gathering here,

Now you all have gone and did it! It is almost bedtime for me and here I am getting ready to go read at Don's Place of Refreshing Words. I can just see it now, hubby coming into my bedroom at 1 a.m. and asking me what is wrong that I am still up and reading. But I can feel the excitement and it is wonderful.

Miriam, I love that passage and there is even more depth to it than we know now. I just received a wonderful Mother's Day gift from my family in Missouri and it is from ArtScroll Tanach Series on Psalm and it is so rich. I wish you could be here to study with me because I know you would enjoy it.

Off to click on Don's link and then grab a good soft spot on my bed to build up my ability to set up and read til dawn breaks.

  10. Wow!, I respectfully disagree and lean towards the interpretation of scripture brought forth by the word of God, and by the other dispensationalists including Sean at this blog.

  11. jmoll106,

Me too! A real good way to study all of this is to stick to the actual study of the Original Hebrew Scriptures and when you do you will learn that is copied statement of JJ is not quite what he is trying to express. " while the Messiah is cut off NOT FOR HIMSELF but will “stand and feed his flock” gathered and brought into the wilderness by God’s angels and fulfill Micah 5:2-5, Matthew 24:29". Cut off is foretelling that the Messiah that Israel rejects (Jesus Christ) will be murdered but not for his own self. But his death will be for a matter of 3 days and that goes back to how God counts/determines time. One day equals a thousand years, two days equals 2,000 and three days equals 3,000 years. We are now living in the beginning of the third day (year 2000 according to the Gregorian Calendar) The death of Jesus was foreordained from the beginning of the creation (remember that God is God Only because he is the only one that can tell us the Future from the beginning and the beginning began for the Church Age in AD33. So beginning with the advent of Jesus birth until today, July 7, 2018 it has been over 2000 years. God doesn't count time the same way that the Roman Catholic Church has developed. So all of this time setting is purely according to mankind attempt to "Set the Day of the Lord" and God's word tells all of us that YOU CANNOT GET IT DONE. There are signs that will be only as signposts but that still isn't going to produce any pinpoint time.
So, respectfully I tell JJ to now go check what the Hebrew Scriptures actually have recorded and it is a long process but well worth the efforts and time. Along the way, while studying, we all come to realize just how foolish, all of our so called wisdom, really is and how much is just speculation.

    1. Your right GG5, thankfully the Spirit of God gently moves us in the right direction. I'm thankful for the airing out of these things, in brings clarity.
When Philip asked Jesus to show them the Father and it will be sufficient for them(Jn 14), the answer Jesus gave was the straight forward truth of the matter,"he that hath seen me hath seen the Father". Awesome.
I pray JJ will see the same.

  12. I haven't read the Brother's article yet but here's my 2 cents on this topic... I believe so that the year of 1948 is the starting point of the final generation's timeline and we indeed entered the final 10 years of that timeline as we've passed the 70th anniversary of the state of Israel's birth. However... I believe so that *the ending point* on the "final/fig tree generation's timeline" is the Second Coming! The timeline includes the 7 years long tribulation period too in my opinion. If I'm correct and the starting point was in 1948 then the latest possible year of the Second Coming is 2028.(1948 plus 80 years of strenght.) 2028 minus 7 years (of the tribulation period) is the year 2021 as the latest possible year of the rapture and the starting of the tribulation period. If that timeline is correct we have only 3 years left maximum.

  13. Keep an eye on the E.U. from which the antichrist will emerge as a strong political and a military leader. Emmanuel Macron formed the European Intervention Initiative on June the 25fth. It could very well be the 10 nations coalition who will giver their power the beast 666. See https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/jun/25/nine-eu-states-to-sign-off-on-joint-military-intervention-force "Nine EU states sign off on joint military intervention force. Initiative is backed by the UK which will be allowed to participate after Brexit" And http://tradcatknight.blogspot.com/2018/06/antichrist-watch-new-military-force.html " ANTICHRIST WATCH: A New Military Force Established In Europe".

And don't forget the European Neighborhood Policy which is a framework with a 7 year cycle, 2007-2014, 2014-2021, 2021-2028. Could it be that the next cycle which begins with the year 2021 will be the final 7 years?

I apologizing for absolute mess I made of my comment 7:43 P.M. on July 7th. My keyboard on my computer was very low on battery and no batteries here that I could find. I tried to make hast while there was still a whimper of juice left and I will retype it and make it understandable.

By the way, did any one see the news about Israel hitting the base at T4 in Syria close to Homs that was the base Israel has ravaged at least 3 other times where Iran used it as a depot for the use of drones? I read it first on The Times of Israel but now can only find it here:https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/syria-airstrike-hits-t4-airbase-near-homs-1.6248915

  16. The post from "JJ" regarding a mid-70th Week Harpazo and other misinterpretations of Scripture did not pass the moderation review. Eschatology Today will never accept a mid-70th Week Harpazo as consistent with what Scripture teaches; such teaching, with all due individual respect to "JJ", is unacceptable for posting to this blog and has been removed for this and other reasons. "JJ" cannot accpet our view and then go about in the same post to reject it through misapplication of Scripture. "JJ" is invited to comintue to read what is taught here, and we all pray the Spirit will provide the proper correction.

Thanks to Jmoll and GG5 for holding the line on what we believe Scripture teaches without error.

  17. Nora,

What you have stated in summery fashing is exactly what has been put forward here as the proper interpretation of the LORD's Holy Word.

    Here's my summation also FWIW:

The 70th Week commences with the A/C confirming a covenant. That week of 7 years, as we are informed by angel Gabriel, is all about Israel and it has nothing to do with the Bride of Christ, the true Church, which is removed from the earth PRIOR to the confirmation.

    The midweek is defined by:

    1. The near fatal wounding of the Antichrist and the false miracle of his recovery and indwelling directly of Satan;
    2. The death and resurrection of the LORD's Two Witnesses in 3 days time in Jerusalem.
    3. These first two actions are also concurrent with the Abomination of Desolation in the Holy Place within the 3rd Temple.

The conclusion of the 70th Week, whose days will be shortened so that human life does not become extinct on the earth, is marked by the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ as King of kings and Lord of lords, with the bride of Christ accompanying Him.

  18. Regarding the "attack on the T4 airbase as reported by Syrian state-media... that is but the tip of the proverbial iceberg of what occurred yesterday.

The attack on Iranian targets in Syria was far more widespread than just the T4 air base.

Also, these IAF missile strikes are not deterring Iran, and war will erupt on a much larger scale involving all of Syria and Lebanon on the "northern front." Israel is prepared for this, but heavy civilian casualties will occur in Israel according to isaiah 17.

  20. Sean,
Good to see your reports and yes, in lots of ways I am dreading the shortly upcoming war involving Syria, Lebanon and Israel. The part that I dislike is that of not being able to do anything physical to help Israel. But the carnage that is going to begin might not be stoppable and easily sweep over the whole world. I don't see it the same way that the military does, I am sure but I do know that when the factors in our nation are already digging in and contemplating physical violence, the powers of darkness are very evident and we have truly stepped over into a dastardly era of time.

That is why I keep trying to remind everyone that God's word tells ALL of us to pray constantly and begin with those who are in positions of authority over us. Now that doesn't mean to pray for those who are desperately trying to overthrow our elected officials or even those who are no longer in power. But I wasn't gungho for Donald Trump all through the primary season and wanted ABBA FATHER to show me who was to be the one. I was recuperating in Arizona during all of that time and the election wasn't a major part of my days or nights. In other words, not really tune to the political scenes and no interest except to cleanse the White House from the Muslim influence that had been brought into it. But Ted Cruz and Ben Carson were the ones that I had hoped would be it. But none of that was worth the attacks that began in earnest after the Rep. National Convention. That is when I knew that ABBA was pointing at DJT,soiled slightly but HE would make him into what was needed by HIS devine intervention in all of the affairs.

I have to keep my mind on what is so much more important than the politics of life and see Just What Thus Saith the Lord for our remaining days. I have no fear of the future and in fact, I love that all of us are being allowed to be a witness and a participant in the closing of this age we are now in. So, my attention is on HIS WORDS to all of the world but especially to us who believe in HIM. His wisdom is beyond my imagination and his mercy and grace are boundless. So, as a good old grandmother used to tell me, "Just be still and let HIM tell you all about it and then have the wisdom to learn and cherish it!"

So getting off of here and not going to try to correct what I wrote (miserable that it is) to JJ but going beyond his attempt to seem informed, I will promise to keep my batteries charged and my monitor clean so the next burb won't catch me unprepared.

    Good night all,

  21. Hello, I am currently on vacation in Alaska and haven't been able to keep up here. FWIW, my view is that the bride will be here right up to, but not included the confirmation of the covenant, which is 3years at most away. Besides the many signs included in scripture, we will be here to witness the fulfillment of psalm 83 AND Ezekiel 38&39. I'm of the belief that The church will be here for about another 3 years, I also believe that the fulfillment of psalm 83, and Ezekiel 38&39 Will serve as the bride's final opportunity to harvest as many souls as possible just prior to the harpazo. I am having a difficult time in seeing it in any other way so if I'm mistaken please show me where and correct me

Fact is I'm not certain and the Lord could catch his bride away today. By the way, what the article said about the church today was spot on. I couldn't agree more. I'm reading it again
