UPDATE 25 February 2022: Firstly, it has become painfully apparent in the past 24 hours that all of those folks who heretofore had expressed high levels of distrust of the Lame Stream Media, both foreign and domestic, and its rampant "fake news" campaigns of recent memory have had been camped at their feeding trough like hordes of people starved of information.
Eschatology Today has warned extensively throughout the past seven years (at a minimum) that none of the MSM's product is to be trusted or taken at face value. The MSM remains controlled and staffed by Western globalist interests and elites. The rampant disinformation and pure, politically motivated propaganda coming from the MSM at present is on a scale that this observer has not seen previously. Their agenda has not changed one iota. Their objectives remain the same. Many hours of intensive data mining has proven this observation to be absolutely correct. Which devil is acceptable to these people, the one from the East or the one from the West?
The conflict in Ukraine and its end-state is a known-unknown, but as we all know God is in control. What we need to see and understand right now is that events are taking place that are leading to other events, both prophetic and otherwise. Patience of saints is called for and well as being watchmen and students of the Lord's Holy Words. Nothing else really matters in the short-term because, in the words of our Lord, "all these things must take place, but the end is not yet." Just keep looking up until He comes to take us up! 24 February 2022: As of 5 AM Kyiv time on 24 February 2022 the Union State (Russian Federation and Belarus) has been engaged in a full-scale war against pro-Western Ukraine. Ballistic and cruise missiles have rocked Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro and other Ukrainian cities and bases, depots and assembly areas of the Ukrainian Armed forces throughout the entire territory of Ukraine. Russian forces, backed also by the forces of Belarus have attacked into Ukraine on at least five different axes of advance. The Budapest Memorandum in which Ukraine gave up its nuclear weapons in exchange for a Russian guarantee of Ukrainian sovereignty, peace and security is now a worthless piece of rubbish. Israel needs to pay very close attention.
22 February 2022: Leading the way for news and information of prophetic consequence, the obvious detail not seen as yet in MSM or 99.99% of other reporting, is that the "occupied" territory of Ukraine's two oblasts (provinces) of Luhansk and Donetsk is less than half of their full-size territory as the map above illustrates. Dark blue is occupied, medium tan is un-occupied and still under Ukrainian government control, and the light tan is the rest of Ukraine's territory.
This leads to the question Eschatology Today is now considering: How far will God allow Russia to go before the prophetic hooks are put in Gog of Magog's jaws (Ezekiel 38:4)? Will Russian armor press forward beyond the current "line of control" which is marked by WWI-like trenches along the entire length of the blue-medium-tan divide to take all of Luhansk and Donetsk? Or will the invading Russian armored forces sweep west through the important port of Mariupol and along Ukraine's Sea of Azov coastline to link up with the Russian-annexed Crimean peninsula?

ReplyDeleteThe "little green men" (Russian SPETSNAZ) and "rebels" who took control of the eastern-most portions of Luhansk and Donetsk in 2014 had it written in their "constitutions" that the entire territory of each oblast was the territory of their declared "republics."
As soon as the Russian armor battle groups establish their forward bases they will further invade the rest of presently unoccupied Luhansk and Donetsk.
The so-called "peacekeepers" are actually foreign invaders. They will invade Ukraine even further still.
I don't know how far they will go, I said this before but it seems like Russia is jumping the gun and getting ahead of her prophetic destiny. I'm still looking for psalm 83 and Russia seems to be jumping the gun. If Ezekiel 38&39 is about to be fulfilled then psalm 83 has to be really close. Perhaps the harpazo will occur really soon and trigger them all

Our departure is preferred, IF this is the time for the restrainer to be taken out of the way. If not, the U S.A. conceded Crimea during the Obama years and gave billions to Iran. I'm wondering if this is just another repeat. However if this administration puts crippling sanctions against Putin, he may back down.

In context - Ezekiel 39:29 is without a doubt a dispensational marker for us to see clearly.

DeleteYes, I believe we are that close. And guarding against "rapture weariness" is a great concern. The Adversary is working harder than ever; in his evil arrogance he still thinks he can pull out a win. We know he won't until the Restrainer and the bride are taken out of the way.
I've been busy this morning citing real-world examples of just how true and inerrant the prophetic Word of God is. This strengthens as the Spirit leads. Wearing the full-armor of God against his deceptions! (i.e. "Rapture? What Rapture? There is no Rapture.")
That's his game. I won't play along, nor should any of the bride, especially not now! We should be preaching, witnessing, doing as our Lord commands. Time is short and our Master will come when we least expect.
I've seen through to a couple of things that must be noted.
ReplyDeleteI was unable to locate a single biblical eschatology site that is covering this subject in the same manner as Eschatology Today has been, and this is exactly what I mean when saying this prophecy blog is "leaning forward.*"
[*It's military jargon for sure, and appropriate IMHO in that Russia has been "leaning forward" against Ukraine, the EU, the US, all of NATO in fact. This is how I roll for the Lord, so to speak.]
Many other sites are posting secular news tidbits of Ukraine, etc., without prophetic points of reference in the discussion. Am I wrong? Not from what I surveyed last night.
So, at least in this respect Eschatology Today is somewhat unique, and 100% for free. Been this way from the get-go, for 13 years now, and have been greatly blessed for it by the LORD God. So... no reason to not continue leaning forward from this watchman's wall tower towards the prophetic horizon with a high-power scope.
Moving forward until "Come up hither!"
Oh, almost forgot, there is precedent in Scripture.

Persia,in the East, was the Ram, and Alexander the Great's ascendant Macedonian-Greek kingdom in the West was the Goat. This narrative of East-West warfare (leaning forward vs each other) by great empires is both 100% fulfilled prophecy as well as a likeness (past as prologue) of the current East-West conflict.
Out of this the 10 Toes will become manifest, and the prophetic narrative in Daniel of what those 10 Toes/Horns are doing when the 11th little horn rises among them is straight ahead.
And meanwhile we're also watching Israel closely.
Moreover, and keep this in mind, it must be noted boldly that Putin's decree and declaration on the Donbas oblasts and immediate military invasion of that territory has been thoroughly and completely rejected by Turkey.

Turkey supports Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity 100%. Turkey has provided Ukraine's Army with its deadly Bayraktar unmanned combat drones (which will soon kill Russian tanks and troops).
Turkey's Bayraktar drone was a critical asset in Azerbaijan's military victory over Russia-backed, CSTO member Armenia in their recent war over Nagorno-Karabakh. It decimated Armenian armor.
So, where is the most likely place for Turkish-Russian military friction to manifest?

DeleteI've long thought that this verse suggests that God will actually cause this coalition to turn against and kill each other, just as He did to Israel's enemies in biblical times.

ReplyDeleteThe NATO nations are each keeping their eastward forward deploying battle group contingents (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, etc., etc.) as cohesive unit formations. They are not mixing together in battle formations, but are working in concert with, reinforcements for and as adjunct to the hosting NATO nations own military forces.
This has been true of Western forces for many centuries; for millennia in fact. This was true of the individual Roman legions 2,000 years ago and remains so to this day. The ancient Roman legions such as X Fretensis, V Macedonica, Apollinaris, Fulminata etc, etc, all operated as individual units against a common enemy. NATO does and will do the same in the 21st century.
A lot of this is way above my head, but doesn't Turkey (Tubal?) align with Gog (Rosh?) in the Ez. war? If so, something's going to have to happen to change their alliances?

I do believe that when a critical point is reached, the wars/conflagrations will domino in rapid succession. After all, the birth pangs become almost continuous right before the birth. But, as I recall, the pushing is still at integrals, but they get closer together, too. Hmmm.

DeleteMY point has long held that the peoples who lived in Asia Minor name by Ezekiel 2600 years ago were displaced or migrated away over 2000 years ago. Most all went north. Asia Minor was populated by Greeks even through the Byzantine Empire until 1100-1200 AD when Seljuk Turks from central Asia conquered that land and took over. Then the Ottomans took over from the Byzantines (Greeks).
I don't think Ezekiel referred to the Turks.

Sean, something I am struggling with understanding is with everything going on, how do you see Ezekiel 38:14 becoming a reality? The way I think about this verse has always been more of an aftermath to everything that happened from Jeremiah to Psalm, to Isaiah -- then there would be calm. But the way things appear right now, I can't see how there will be a calm in Israel once everything begins.

DeleteWhile Russia is busy with it's current military adventure in Europe the eschatological anticipation is for Jeremiah 49:34-39, and 23-27, then Isaiah 17 and Psalm 83, Isaiah 11:12-14 and Ezekiel 28:24-26 to be fulfilled in a rapid sequence.
Then, as Israel has recovered from those wars, Ezekiel 38/39 happens.
It's all a sequence of events, like falling dominoes, one after another. Gabriel told Daniel it would be like a flood.
Russian and Belarusian armored columns have entered the highly radioactive exclusion zone around Chernobyl. Intense fighting, including air strikes has reportedly cause clouds of radioactive dust to be spread further into Europe. Ukraine's President Zelensky has said this deliberate action by Russian forces is "a Russian declaration of war against the whole of Europe."

As I just noted in another pair of comments this morning, the State of Israel and Israeli Jews (for the most part) are as completely ignorant of the prophetic threat to their well-being by Russia as they are of the Lord Jesus Christ being their living Messiah and Lamb of God.
Which is to say that Israel, for the most part, learned absolutely nothing from the events of 67-73 AD* and their diaspora afterwards.
Delete*The events of those SEVEN YEARS of 67-73 AD were both a prophetic fulfillment of the God-breathed spoken words from the angel Gabriel and the LORD Jesus Christ Himself; a direct foreshadowing (PAST as PROLOGUE) of the coming 70th Week of SEVEN YEARS.

Russia claims to be striking only military targets. I just saw a cellphone video taken out a kitchen window in a Ukrain private residence. Somebody's home. A Russian jet comes in hot and low, tree-top level, and cuts loose an air-to-ground missile into the house from which the video was being recorded. BOOM! And a baby in that kitchen with its mother begins screaming. Video ends.

ReplyDeleteUkraine's military is doing better than expected against the Russian invaders. They've won several battles when clearly outnumbered, some due to the lethal ATGM hardware from the US & UK and US "Stingers". They're decimating Russian tanks, huge losses.
ReplyDeleteThe Ukrainian MiG-29 pilot known as "Ghost of Kyiv" has taken 5 or 6 Russian MiGs in dogfights. He's an instant national hero.
I also think Ukraine's military is showing signs of a really solid, combat effective strategy vs overwhelming Russian land warfare power. I'm expecting big surprises today and in days to come. Already the Battle of Kharkiv is a truly epic defense.
Also, the Russian death toll might never be fully known. Mobile crematoriums are embedded in the columns of Russian armor. The dead are being "evaporated" keeping verifiable casualties hidden. Same for the civilian Ukrainian victims of Russian Army war crimes.

DeleteI'd advise caution in doing that unless one has a robust suite of IT tools to protect your PC. If one has them, then one knows how to surf the web safety looking for info. Then it takes an acquired skill to discern propaganda from disinformation from fact. I keep my sources and methods of info collection well protected.

There are perhaps three EU countries tries with respectable armed forces (sea, air and especially land). The previously mentioned armed forces of Italy. To Italy we add France, Greece, the UK and Poland. That's about it.
Germany? Don't make me laugh. The Wehrmacht needs a total overhaul and rebuild. From 2017 through 2020 President Trump tried to wake the EU up. The didn't listen. Maybe Putin will now bring about what Trump could not achieve. Maybe Putin will cause 10 EU kings to get their act together. Right now it's pretty pathetic.

DeleteSweden and Finland have seen the illegalities and war crimes that Russia has committed in Ukraine. This will be a strong impetus for both countries to seek to join NATO in the very near term.

Finland says the threat will affect their decision. Both countries attended the NATO summit today when the Response Force deployment was authorized.

If these Ruusian troops assault Kyiv at zero dark thirty this morning they could very well be chewed up by Ukrainian defenders who will own the night.

This appears to be due to the exceptionally fierce Ukrainian defense.
Thermobaric weapons are just below the threshold of tactical nuclear weapons in terms of destructive power. The demolish entire buildings and either burst the lungs or vaporize human beings within the massive blast radius.
Russia's use of these weapons in Ukraine - crimes against humanity to be sure - could very well drag NATO into the war.
