Global SITREP A7-17: Fighting Between Israel and Iran/Syria Erupts

IAF F-16 Crash Site in Northern Israel this morning
UPDATE 12 February 2018: Here comes the rather stunning Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) from Israel on Saturday's strike in Syria. Naftali Bennet stated on GLZ Radio (a/k/a IDF Radio) in Israel that Damascus "now stands exposed" as a direct result of the airstrikes. The BDA is that one-half of Syria's air defense systems, which are heavily concentrated around Damascus, were destroyed. Damascus is virtually naked; almost defenseless against Israel. LTC Jonathan Conricus, IDF Spox, compared Syria's air defense array post-strikes to the remains of the Iranian drone blown out of the sky.

No wonder that since the dozen or so airstrikes on Saturday there's been heard the sound of crickets from both Tehran and Damascus. Al-Assad has no one else to blame for his massive loss of air defense capability but IRGC Qods Force commander Qassem Soleimani and his boss Ayatollah Khamenei. And Hezbollah in Lebanon celebrates? The below Israeli cartoon expresses this new fact-of-life for Damascus, Syria quite nicely.

Translation: "We showed them!"

10 February 2018: About 6 hours ago Iran sent one of its drones (a cheap replica of the US RQ-170) into Israeli airspace from Syria. The drone left Syrian airspace and entered Jodanian airspace and then intruded into Israeli airspace. After one minute and thirty seconds in Israeli airspace an IAF Apache chopper intercepted and utterly destroyed the Iranian drone. Nothing but charred remains fell to the ground.

Scrambled IAF F16I Sufa aircraft responded to the incursion and were met with heavy anti-aircraft missile fire from Syria which critically damaged one of the responding Sufa's. That aircraft crashed in northern Israel (image above). Sirens began wailing all over northern Israel. The two Sufa crewmen bailed out and survived, but the pilot sustained serious injury and has been hospitalized.

In response to this obviously pre-planned Iranian attack, PM Netanyahu convened an emergancy session of his defense chiefs in Tel Aviv. Israel then immediately launched a sort of mini-blitz against the Iranian drone control vehicle and at least 12 other Iranian and Syrian targets according to the IAF Air Order Of Battle (AOOB). Four hours ago the heavy fire between Syria and Israel continued to escalate, with Israel promising to exact a heavy price from Syria and Iran.

As of 6 minutes ago (8 AM EDT) a report was issued saying that Israel is rushing ground troops and other reinforcements to the Golan front.

Now, four hours later, it would appear that combat operations have ceased, but high alerts remain in effect. This morning's combat illustrates how quickly and unexpectedly the situation is on Israel's northern frontier. This appears also to foreshadow the prophecy of Isaiah 17:14a

"Then behold, at eventide, trouble!
And before the morning, he is no more."

IAF airstrikes in Syria 10FEB18
The above image (IDF Source) illustrates the four targets struck by IAF f-16I Sufa aircraft this morning in Syria. The first was the Iranian drone control vehicle. Following the Syrian anti-air ambush of one F-16I, Israel took the opportunity to attack and destroy millions of dollars worth of multiple air defense assets of the the Syrian regime. The systems struck were the SA-2 (NATO Name: Guideline), the SA-5 (NATO Name: Gammon) and the SA-17 (NATO Name: Grizzly) BUK-M2 SAM systems.

A graphic of this morning's 4-hour long chain-of-events follows below.

The intensive Eschatology Today situational awareness of all events in Syria, Lebanon and Gaza will continue; a new and far more dangerous period has now begun.

  1. This was pre-planned by Iran/Syria. The responding IAF Sufa's were essentially ambushed by several air defense sites in Syria, all of which are now smoking holes in the ground. Lots of dead Syrian and Iranian troops no doubt.

  2. Thanks for the update Sean.
May God's word be fulfilled as the prophets have declared.

  3. The air defense network used against the IAF Sufa's is controlled through Russian forces AD HQ at Hmeimim Air Base. Russia took part in the ambush.

  4. Looks like, for the time being at least, hostilities have come to a halt.
This is a temporary cessation no doubt.

  5. Israel probably feels the did a measured response, now all the talking political heads do their jattering.

  6. Jmoll,

Indeed, it was very measured, intended to send a strong message. Signals were sent that Israel did not wish the situation to escalate, but that was entirely dependent on what the enemy decided to do.

I was expecting Scuds to fly. But, with Israel and the US having fresh preps for Joint Exercise juniper Cobra 2018 there's no doubt that they were well prepared.

I also believe that this was pre-palnned with Iran having covertly notified HAMAS to be ready for war to erupt. JBN reported just six days ago (FEB 4) that HAMAS announced war against Israel would begin "within days." Today was the sixth day from that announcement by HAMAS.

The thing is, war breaking out has always been the Iranian goal.

  7. It may well be that yesterdays engagement with the Iranian Saegheh drone and its aftermath will lead to the fulfillment of Jeremiah 49:36-39.

Remember, Iran was put on notice.

    1. I'm wondering the same thing. I believe that this could very well be a prophetically significant year. I'm keeping one eye on the scriptures, one eye on Israel and both eyes looking up

  8. I'm sure the Iranians,Syrians and Russians are thinking twice since their hidden military sites are now rubble. It will however make them desperate enough to fulfill their rolls in prophecy. Watching and waiting.
    Awesome updates.

  9. Hi Sean,
First time commenting on your blog. I find it hard to express how I feel, with events happening in recent times!
My father loved to look into the prophetic Scriptures and watched the current events of his day. He's now been with the Lord for almost 30 years. As a young girl, I observed his enthusiasm, and I think that I caught some of the same vision as he had.
I find it almost surreal to be living in such a time as this. To think...I am alive to see all this!! My father would have loved to see this, too...but now...he may be seeing it from Heaven's portals, If the Lord allows His precious saints such glimpses.

Thanks for commenting! I like to think those sleeping are aware of things. They do question "how much longer Lord?" I thought we had pretty much arrived in '67, and again in '73. But then the sequence became clearer and now we're seriously on borrowed time, so to speak.

  10. I was listening to the many updates on this very subject from the main-stream-media outlets.....hahahahaha....not.
Amazing, almost no mention of this. Is there a better definition of “business as usual”? All we need tomorrow is the stock market to take a big increase so people can happily continue to buy and sell??? Blissfully asleep.
Unfortunately, we’re on prophetic thin ice....we have quite a few fingers on triggers I think. A mistake or rash action could set a flood of events in motion.

That was precisely Jesus' prophetic point in Matthew 24:38-39. We're living it, seeing it in real-time.

    1. The Hughes AH-64A Apache remains peerless in rotary-wing combat. They kill enemy tanks and SAM systems like nobodies business. Now they make quick work and history of Iran's best drone.

Constant maintenance and upgrading of systems and capabilities keep these "Bad Birds" seriously feared by all of Israel's enemies.

    3. I think both the USA and Israel benefit from the exchange in technology as we may build a lot of technologically advanced weapons but sometimes the israeies improve on our ideas and we benefit from their technological say also

  12. This will be interesting from Russia's point of view. I'm sure they know the middle east is always a volatile area and is it worth the investment. Even if they turn back and cut their loses, God will be putting a hook in their mouth to bring them to their ultimate destiny.

  15. Sean,

We have all been waiting on this brick to fall off of the wall for a long, long time. Remembering back to the Lebanon days before Hezbollah and their taking over the nation from the Lebanon people, there were all kinds of warnings that this would not turn out in a positive manner for the Syrian leadership if they continued on the pathway they were then on. Some of my memory in regards to that whole mess are just fleeting ghosts now and then but even back in 2007 we knew this would bring about the eventual destruction of Damascus in Is. 17.

But now the passages that has my utmost attention and not of my own determination either, are those found in Ezekiel 38. For some unknown reason that I have searched for discernment from ABBA, is in the 5th verse of Cpt. 38 where it says "Persia, Ethiopia and Libya with the; all of them with shield and helmet." Persia isn't singled out as a special just as "all thine army, horses and horsemen," and then the passage goes on to list the other nations with them. But considering the power and purported fierceness of Iran now trying to dominate and bring about a Muslim mahdi does it seem to you that Iran is nothing more than just another lesser power than Russia? From the first time we all got into a discussion regarding Ez. 38 and 39 at Joel Rosenberg's Epicenter, I keep getting this nudge that Persia will much diminished in strength and fighting ability.

Please if you could help me in this I would so greatly appreciate it. I have never requested this from anyone else simply because I don't tend to put much confidence in the casual observer of the Scriptures and also, the logistics of military might at this time. I KNOW in my KNOWER that this is coming about very quickly and I just would settle it in my own self.

P.S. Not even the ArtScrollTanach Series gives me any relief in this regard.

  16. GG5,

From THIS POST there is a little help with the orginal Hebrew of Ezekiel 38:5

"Ezekiel 38:5, written in the original Hebrew, is as follows: "Persia (Parac - pronounced Pah-rass), Cush (Kuwsh - pronounced Koosh), and Put (Puwt - pronounced Poot), with them, All of them [with] shield and helmet."

The next sentence in that 2011 posts reads: "These peoples are, firstly, the original eastern Persians, as opposed to the Elamites who lived just east of Mesopotamia, or the Medes who lived to the north."

Thus the Parac (Pah-rass) in Ezekiel 38:5 do not represent the whole of what Iran is today, but the original high plateau Persians of central Iran. They no longer possess the weapons they have right now, and join in with the Magog confederation merely as an infantry force, probably airborn infantry in my assessment.

In any case, they are nothing to worry about -- they'll be dead even before hitting the ground on the mountains of Israel.

Iran is going to be reduced to a very great extent... and that is what I believe Jeremiah 49:34-39 is all about. They're going to lose all of their missiles and launchers, and the lions share of their current military capability before Ezekiel 38/39 takes place.

  17. Lance,

It the line-up of prophetic dominos - we get inexorably closer to the flood of their toppling with each passing hour. Tic-toc, tic-toc.

  18. Russia is losing a vast fortune they cannot afford to lose right now and in the very near-term.

They will come against Israel with the thought to plunder in order to recoup the loses the will suffer as a result of Isaiah 17 and Jeremiah 49:23-27. Instead they will lose even more.

They are stuck on fly paper and don't know it.

  19. GG5,

I hope my answer above answered your question, but as we can see you had it all figured out long ago. your knower now knows what it knew back then - Iran will be greatly dimished prior to Ezekiel 38/39.

And we have ringside seats to see it happen.

I need 6 more pairs of arms and as many extra sets of eyes to keep up with these events and their intricate details coming along one after another in real-time, and all of them having prophetic implications.

Actually, I have a solution, and maybe in the next day or so I'll reveal it.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Sean,

YOU indeed did answer it but I truly know in the Same KNOWER that all of this time it was the Holy Spirit pointing the way and I couldn't come to grasp it and trust what was being shown. I don't know how else to say this but a long time ago the first time I happened (not an accident in the least) upon your name and comment I knew you are the real deal and I could just do a whoopee dance right now but hubby wouldn't understand. But of course, I can still do that dance in my Secret Place and Abba Father will enjoy it with me.

I am making a copy of your comments in answer to my question and placing it in my bible for safe keeping. But back to the drama of Is. 17 and Damascus, plus Ez. 38, Jeremiah 49:23-27; and also Ps. 83 all of us need to get very serious about our prayers, Bible study and helping to keep a calm confident atmosphere about our selves and behavior.

Oh, LORD you know I want to so now it is down to the nitty gritty of seriousness.

  22. Jenny,

Russia owns nothing in Syria. They leased the air base at Hmeimim and the port in Tartus for 49 more years.

Logistical resupply is very expensive, especially in Syria where not much is provisioned by the local economy.

Many Russians are there as mercenary contractors, they're not active duty troops.

  23. More BDA: Israel's heavy strikes wiped out not only Damascus air defense sites, but they also destroyed the Syrians main Command and Control (C2) bunker complex.

That strike in particular has Syria, Iran and Russia scratching their heads on how Israeli intelligence knew of its existence much less its exact location.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Eschatology Today BDA: Based upon OSINT & published specs, the downed F-16I and its pilot were struck by a Russian SA-17 Grizzly which fired a 9M317 SAM. The 9M317 missile has a HE fragmentation warhead detonated by integrated proximity radar.

Syria's claim of further surprises for the IAF probably means that their few remaining SAM systems have all been upgraded with Russia's newest missiles for those legacy systems.

  25. Look at Israel right now. On the very threshold of a major prophetic war (Isaiah 17) and its Prime Minister is distracted by not one, but two politically motivated indictments.

God is speaking directly to Israel through Isaiah and Jeremiah. Who in Israel is listening to Him? Who in Israel can understand what God is saying through the prophets? Deuteronomy 29:4.

Remember, the Orthodox Jews are expecting Moshiach ben Joseph to appear.

  26. I can't push the gut feeling away that it's probably the enemy who wants Netanyahu to be gone for the reason to slow down and obstruct the Lord's plans.

Whether the Lord wants to take Netanyahu out of the picture (that's also a possibility) or not, He will turn around the enemy's plans and actions in both cases to match His perfect plan.

  28. God is capital O Omniscient, Omnipresent, Omnipotent.

He has known everything there is to know since there was nothing but Him.

    He lives outside of space/time.

  29. Yes, rhetorical, because they were answered by Deuteronomy 29:4 from that time long ago until the present and near future... up to Ezekiel 39:29, which is where the appointed time of Romans 11 prophetic fulfillment occurs during the 70th Week.
