Global SITREP D12-16: The Urgent Need for Repentance in America

NOV-DEC 2016 Issue of Lamplighter
15 November 2016: The final Global SITREP of the current D-series for 2016 is highlighting the November-December 2016 issue of the Lamb & Lion Ministries bi-monthly Lamplighter online magazine. From this issue the spotlight in upon Dr. David Reagan's 3-part series entitled "What America Desperately Needs."  It will take the average reader a total of 15 minutes to read all three parts of this series.

Part 1 of 3  Our National Sins, The Call for Repentance and A Biblical Example

Part 2 of 3  The Power of Repentance in the History of our Nation

Part 3 of 3  The Warning of Romans Chapter 1

Our President-elect (a claimed born-again) and his Vice President-elect (a born again Christian) have as their regularly convening "Evangelical Executive Advisory Board" a fairly well-rounded group of more than two dozen brethren. According to multiple reports I have read, this group includes (in no particular order): Michele Bachmann, James Dobson, Ralph Reed, Jerry Falwell Jr., Richard Land, Jentezen Franklin, Johnnie Moore, Mark Burns, Robert Jeffress, David Jeremiah, James MacDonald, Tony Suarez plus a dozen or so others.

One of the first things this group should advise and act upon is the establishment of a National Day of Prayer in Repentance. They should also meet in the Oval Office and dedicate through prayer to God that room as being the point where the Lord's will be done in our country. America must get on its knees and we must lead the prayers for national repentance.

  1. Agreed! Like Josiah, repentance should begin with Trump publicly and filter down through the government agency and from all Americans. We sure need a national revival led from the top.

  2. Sean,
I believe we have been given a merciful reprieve in this country from the ebbing darkness. As a nation and as individuals we should heed the call of repentance metioned in the articles. The protesters have shown they have no regard for God or His ways. By prayer maybe some will see the truth of God's love before it's to late. Over 50 years of our institutions training our children in the way they should go has given us the harvest of weeds we see today. This is our last chance.

  3. The principles behind all of this are certainly sound. What initially comes to my mind is this scripture from Ezekiel 22:"I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it..."

The events we have just experienced were accompanied by a seismic spiritual shift in our country, with repercussions that are being felt worldwide on a minute by minute basis (and good heavens, it's only been 1 week since the election - doesn't it feel like a much longer period of time?).

I do not believe the events of the past 18 months would have occurred without a powerful movement of the Holy Spirit leading to the fervent prayers and repentance of the saints. I believe God will be faithful to uphold his promise to heal our land. Our new President is just an instrument, an outworking of the move of God the Holy Spirit in response to the prayers of the saints.

As in the book of Nehemiah, we need to stay on that spiritual wall and keep building, and not allow our focus to be diverted. For whatever it's worth, I personally believe the salvation of multitudes worldwide hangs on a final great outpouring of the Holy Spirit that will flow from our nation throughout the world (could I be wrong about this? Of course, I'm just a humble mother of 3. But this is what I am sensing in my spirit). The hour is late and time is growing very short.

Let's continue to remember our leaders in prayer and have faith that God will guide them, "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."

  4. There is no doubt that the "fullness of the gentiles" has not yet occured.

Only after this fullness is achieved in God's view will the Harpazo occur and spiritual blindness (for the most part of Israel) be removed and His Spirit be poured out upon all Israel (represented by the 144,000 of the 70th Week).

    Romans 11:25-27.

  5. Hi Sean, do you attach any particular significance to Obama's visit with the PM of Greece today, as part of his last trip abroad as POTUS? I'm not as knowledgeable about that kind of thing as many on this blog.

  6. Miriam,

No major significance really; it's just Zero on a farewell tour saying ta-ta to his fellow global elitists and begging them to oppose the Trump at every turn. Administration.

  8. We should be as unrelenting as they are. I pray Trump will remain on course, in due season it will produce good fruit. Throughout the country state senates will be booting out the left in January.

  9. Miriam,

It goes without saying that every principle written about by Dr. David Reagan is 100% Bible-based. Always has been; always will be.

    ----

About the election of the Trump/Pence ticket under the 'GOP' banner... this was eminently predictable IF one paid attention to state and local politics since the election of Obama in 2008, and especially in the four years since 2012. The anti-establishment, anti-globalist ground swell was palpable.

This ground swell was a natural follow-on to the Tea Party movement which quickly rose in the aftermath of the Obama win in 2008. It was a revolution, but not the kind that overthrows with violence. This was a revolution as Providently blessed as was the first in our nation's history. Have no doubt about this. This is our revolution, and we have to continue the fight to defend it because the foreign and domestic enemy have not quit by any stretch of the imagination.

There have also been a very few pundits who saw it coming. As I mentioned earlier, the most prescient of them is a man named Patrick Caddell (he's now a "FoxNews Insider" and former Democrat pollster).

Pat Caddell did his homework (i.e. real research) and had been predicting a Trump win for a very long time because he was the first to suggest a couple of years ago that America needed an "anti-Establishment candidate" to stop the Globalists from winning with Hillary in 2016. And there's Donald J. Trump, one of seventeen presidential hopefuls standing on the stage... for Caddell it was a no-brainer analysis that Trump, the only "real insurgent" candidate in the group of seventeen, would easily win the GOP nomination and the general election itself.

Unsurprisingly, you won't find Pat Caddell mentioned even once in a general Google search such as "Prediction Trump Victory" simply because Google, as with Twitter and Facebook, is part of the enemedia (you remember this term, meaning: enemy media, right?) and Caddell is seen as a Quisling to left-of-center causes in the US. In fact, Caddell is the only Democrat who spoke truth during this electoral process from mid-2015 to November 7, 2016.

As Nathan stated in the very first comment above, our national repentance must be led Trump and Pence at the top, and we begin with national prayer and a great and continual blessing of Israel.

  10. Thanks for the heads up. I been seeing the reports all over the Internet. That's too bad, he would've been a good pick. This false reporting is really making me angry.

  11. Oh yes, about anger... allow me to repeat something I recently read at GotQuestions.Org (a favorite, Bible-based rime-saving resource and reference website linked for a long time now on the Eschatology Today right-hand main-page margin).

Question of the Week: What does the Bible say about anger?

Answer: Handling anger is an important life skill. Christian counselors report that 50 percent of people who come in for counseling have problems dealing with anger. Anger can shatter communication and tear apart relationships, and it ruins both the joy and health of many. Sadly, people tend to justify their anger instead of accepting responsibility for it. Everyone struggles, to varying degrees, with anger. Thankfully, God’s Word contains principles regarding how to handle anger in a godly manner, and how to overcome sinful anger.

Anger is not always sin. There is a type of anger of which the Bible approves, often called “righteous indignation.” God is angry (Psalm 7:11; Mark 3:5), and believers are commanded to be angry (Ephesians 4:26). Two Greek words in the New Testament are translated as “anger.” One means “passion, energy” and the other means “agitated, boiling.” Biblically, anger is God-given energy intended to help us solve problems. Examples of biblical anger include David’s being upset over hearing Nathan the prophet sharing an injustice (2 Samuel 12) and Jesus’ anger over how some of the Jews had defiled worship at God’s temple in Jerusalem (John 2:13-18). Notice that neither of these examples of anger involved self-defense, but a defense of others or of a principle.

That being said, it is important to recognize that anger at an injustice inflicted against oneself is also appropriate. Anger has been said to be a warning flag—it alerts us to those times when others are attempting to or have violated our boundaries. God cares for each individual. Sadly, we do not always stand up for one another, meaning that sometimes we must stand up for ourselves. This is especially important when considering the anger that victims often feel. Victims of abuse, violent crime, or the like have been violated in some way. Often while experiencing the trauma, they do not experience anger. Later, in working through the trauma, anger will emerge. For a victim to reach a place of true health and forgiveness, he or she must first accept the trauma for what it was. In order to fully accept that an act was unjust, one must sometimes experience anger. Because of the complexities of trauma recovery, this anger is often not short-lived, particularly for victims of abuse. Victims should process through their anger and come to a place of acceptance, even forgiveness. This is often a long journey. As God heals the victim, the victim's emotions, including anger, will follow. Allowing the process to occur does not mean the person is living in sin.

Anger can become sinful when it is motivated by pride (James 1:20), when it is unproductive and thus distorts God’s purposes (1 Corinthians 10:31), or when anger is allowed to linger (Ephesians 4:26-27). One obvious sign that anger has turned to sin is when, instead of attacking the problem at hand, we attack the wrongdoer. Ephesians 4:15-19 says we are to speak the truth in love and use our words to build others up, not allow rotten or destructive words to pour from our lips. Unfortunately, this poisonous speech is a common characteristic of fallen man (Romans 3:13-14). Anger becomes sin when it is allowed to boil over without restraint, resulting in a scenario in which hurt is multiplied (Proverbs 29:11), leaving devastation in its wake. Often, the consequences of out-of-control anger are irreparable. Anger also becomes sin when the angry one refuses to be pacified, holds a grudge, or keeps it all inside (Ephesians 4:26-27). This can cause depression and irritability over little things, which are often unrelated to the underlying problem.

  12. Continued from above...

We can handle anger biblically by seeing God in the trial. This is especially important when people have done something to offend us. James 1:2-4, Romans 8:28-29, and Genesis 50:20 all point to the fact that God is sovereign over every circumstance and person that crosses our path. Nothing happens to us that He does not cause or allow. Though God does allow bad things to happen, He is always faithful to redeem them for the good of His people. God is a good God (Psalm 145:8, 9, 17). Reflecting on this truth until it moves from our heads to our hearts will alter how we react to those who hurt us.

We can handle anger biblically by making room for God’s wrath. This is especially important in cases of injustice, when “evil” men abuse “innocent” people. Genesis 50:19 and Romans 12:19 both tell us to not play God. God is righteous and just, and we can trust Him who knows all and sees all to act justly (Genesis 18:25).

We can handle anger biblically by returning good for evil (Genesis 50:21; Romans 12:21). This is key to converting our anger into love. As our actions flow from our hearts, so also our hearts can be altered by our actions (Matthew 5:43-48). That is, we can change our feelings toward another by changing how we choose to act toward that person.

We can handle anger biblically by communicating to solve the problem. There are four basic rules of communication shared in Ephesians 4:15, 25-32:

    ReplyDelete
  13. Continued from above...

    1) Be honest and speak (Ephesians 4:15, 25). People cannot read our minds. We must speak the truth in love.

    2) Stay current (Ephesians 4:26-27). We must not allow what is bothering us to build up until we lose control. It is important to deal with what is bothering us before it reaches critical mass.

    3) Attack the problem, not the person (Ephesians 4:29, 31). Along this line, we must remember the importance of keeping the volume of our voices low (Proverbs 15:1).

    4) Act, don’t react (Ephesians 4:31-32). Because of our fallen nature, our first impulse is often a sinful one (v. 31). The time spent in “counting to ten” should be used to reflect upon the godly way to respond (v. 32) and to remind ourselves how the energy anger provides should be used to solve problems and not create bigger ones.

At times we can handle anger preemptively by putting up stricter boundaries. We are told to be discerning (1 Corinthians 2:15-16; Matthew 10:16). We need not "cast our pearls before swine" (Matthew 7:6). Sometimes our anger leads us to recognize that certain people are unsafe for us. We can still forgive them, but we may choose not to re-enter the relationship.

Finally, we must act to solve our part of the problem (Romans 12:18). We cannot control how others act or respond, but we can make the changes that need to be made on our part. Overcoming a temper is not accomplished overnight. But through prayer, Bible study, and reliance upon God’s Holy Spirit, ungodly anger can be overcome. We may have allowed anger to become entrenched in our lives by habitual practice, but we can also practice responding correctly until that, too, becomes a habit and God is glorified in our response.

  14. Sean,

Excellent and highly recommend we all take note and keep the comments regarding Anger available daily for the duration of our earthly lives. You touched on so many raw areas in my own personal life and I truly thank you. Some of the behavior, by others, involved in my trauma almost a year ago has been brutal to get past and I truly needed your message today.

Making a permanent copy on every electrical device I have and also multiple printed copies. I think I can get on with a productive life now and I truly thank you.

  15. Thanks for that lengthy, yet needed response. I could tell that you feel the same way as I do, or at least you did at one point. I guess what bothered me is not the dishonest reporting from the left, I expect that and don't even listen to it. It's when I see conservative news outlets stooping to the same level and giving false reports from the right. Have you noticed that too?

  16. GG5 & hartdawg,

The gotquestions QOTW was so spot on about Christian 'anger management' that upon reading it the Holy Spirit burdened yours truly to spread it around, but I knew not the specifics of when or how. Hartdawg provided the comment which immediately fit the bill precisely.

I've been within the 'righteous indignation' category of anger for at least 8 years, and was beginning to think that only the Harpazo would provide relief. Now turning that kind of anger into a positive is first on my mind.

  17. Sean,

I was surprised a few days ago when Kellyanne Conway told Hannity her 50th birthday falls on Inauguration Day.

There seems to be many numbers connected to this election. All of them likely have some sort of hidden meaning.

  18. What I believe is that there are appointments on the Lord's calendar.

And there are stars and heavenly bodies He put in their spacific places to be signs for the appointed in their time.

Any numbers of prophetic relevance or significance are specifically identified as such in God-breathed Scripture.

  21. Just two weeks since Donald J. Trump was elected POTUS, yet despite all the huffing and puffing of the left and globalists who struggle to deal with their setback -yes, the election result was a setback not a loss- time waits for no one. That means its time for a couple of traditional E-series SITREPs to close out 2016. 2017 promises to be something else again!

  22. Sean, according to a U.K. news outlet, at the EU Leaders summit, they called for the rapid formation of an E.U. 'Super Army'. You elucidated this earlier of course but prophecy comes to life in the secular news. The 2028 timeline is right on track.
Have a great Thanksgiving in the Lord!

  23. For the record: According to everything published to date on this issue, there is virtually no chance the GOP electors in the electoral college of key states will not cast their ballot for Donald J. Trump.
