22 April 2019: There is only one place on the planet to find anything authoritative regarding the "covenant with many" amd that place is the Book of Daniel, chapter 9, verse 27. This critically important verse of Scripture is the final verse of the four verses (Daniel 9:24-27) that the angel Gabriel spoke to the prophet Daniel concerning the future of Israel, from the commandment to restore and rebuild Jerusalem to the present era and just beyond. These four verses are inseparable and are commonly referred to here and elsewhere as the "70 Weeks Prophecy." Of those 70 weeks of years (490 years), 69 weeks of years (483) have come and passed into history; only the final 70th week of years (7 years) remains to occur to complete the total of 490 years, and that 70th week of years lies within our present and very immediate future.
The purpose of the sum total of the 70 weeks (past, present and future) is itemized in a very straitforward manner in verse 24. In verse 25 we find the only instance within of all Scripture where our Messiah (Mashiyach) is actually referred to as "Messiah the Prince (Mashiyach HaNagiyd)." Elsewhere in Scripture, Jesus of Nazareth is referred to by all the other names and titles with which we are familiar. The 69th week of years ended with His crucifixion, death and resurrection, which we just celebrated last Sunday.
The 70th Week, as Gabriel declares, begins with "and he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week." Since 69 weeks of years have passed, then only one week of years remains, the 70th week of years. The "he" in this verse is the antichrist.
However, that all said, there are many among us who are now either teaching or strongly advocating that the Trump Administration's much heralded "Deal of the Century" between Israel and the "Palestinians" for a two-state or a one-state solution to the now 71-year old conflict (the Psalm 83 war) is the "covenant with many." The projected release date for the "Deal" is after the soon formation of the new coalition government under PM Netanyahu and following the Muslim observance of Ramadan the first week of June at the earliest.
Eschatology Today believes this is an extremely dangerous teaching for a variety of reasons, the primary being - it may not even be revealed as planned, or if it is it could fairly quickly result is the flood of sequential or simultaneous prophetic wars we've discussed here for many years. Given what the prophetic Scriptures say about which peoples and nations are vanquished in these wars, the "with many" is a virtual unknown in its full scope. Then there's the always present possibility of our not being here by cause of the Harpazo occurring, making the aforementioned dangerous teaching also very premature. And further still, the "covenant with many" is something that Eschatology Today places as becoming a fact immediately after the fulfillment of Ezekiel 38/39, and therefore still future.
Eschatology Today will watch closely for related developments, such as an expected annexation of vast sections of Judea and Samaria (i.e. West Bank) by Israel. Finally, and based upon certain leaks of information by various parties, the "Deal of the Century" appears at this point to involve a dividing of the covenant land of Israel, which if true could be a nightmare scenario.

There is NOTHING in prophetic Scripture about a US collapse due to this "Deal." In fact, this "Deal" is not even mentioned, meaning it has zero prophetic value. Zero.
ReplyDeleteAlso, in Scripture the EU is NOT the focus, but TEN TOES (10 horns) that have arisen from ancient Rome, with an 11th horn to rise among those 10, and then tear out 3 of the 10 by the roots. This is yet future also, but will be fulfilled exactly as written in the Book of Daniel.
I look at these two "deals" as the bookends of the final wars before the Tribulation. President Trump's "Deal of the Century," being the final "Trump" straw that the neighboring muslim countries cannot live with AND the "covenant among many" as the deal that ends the war and the problem Israel has with it's neighbors. After this Psalm 83 war, Israel is much larger in area and despised around the world for all it had gained. (Of course we know God gave this land to Israel when he promised it to Abraham.) So, now that God had won this war for them, maybe even destroying the Dome of the Rock, Israel wants to build their temple, but seeing that everyone is jealous over the success of the war in their favor, they need to appease their remaining enemies. I think this is when the dividing of the land comes as part of the deal with the Antichrist (covenant among many), NOT part of Trump, Kushner and Greenblatt deal. Whenever Israel gives away the land that God has given them they get punished. Their punishment this time will be the worse they've ever received, the Tribulation.

The Trump Administration's "Deal of the Century" being the last straw for its muslim neighbors so Psalm 83 and after that when Israel makes the "covenant among many", we know that starts the Ezekiel 38/39 war. Hey I would like to run this by you, Concerning the covenant with many. In Daniel 9 it begins with Daniel repenting on behalf of Israel and how they broke the (mosaic) covenant. In Daniel 9:27 it says..."He will confirm THE (definite article in the KJV) with many..." by using the definite article it implies that Daniel knew what the covenant was and contextually he had the mosaic covenant in mind. Could the covenant that's confirmed be the mosaic covenant which Israel will return to after Gog/magog?

Then he later declares himself to be God, as Scripture tells us. This is when the Jews rebel and he suffers an apparent mortal head wound. False prophet tells men to make an image of the beast... AoD takes place in the 3rd Temple's Holy Place... and the Megas Thlipsis begins.
THE covenant is YHWH's covenant with Israel, and antichrist indwelt by Lucifer will attempt to usurp this by pretending to be YHWH in order the trick Israel into worshiping him.

ReplyDeleteIt's interesting if you read Daniel 9 from an orthodox Jewish perspective. Messiah has not come in their eyes so this prophecy has not even been partially fulfilled to them. I think the recent predictions of Messiah coming this year by several prominent rabbis in Israel stems from their counting the beginning of this prophecy as starting in 1535/36 when Suleiman the Magnificent decreed the walls of Jerusalem to be rebuilt. If you read this from the Jewish perspective the rabbis are going to be expecting an earthly messiah (which will end up being the A/C). If you read this from our perspective, it will be a perfect dual fulfillment of Jesus' first coming and His second coming. It's also interesting that it may not have a break in it for the second fulfillment. It may be a continuous timeline straight into the 70th week. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on this Sean.

OK, thanks! You're only a decade ahead of me! I've heard it speculated that the only event on planet earth that would be big enough to shock the Muslims into allowing the Temple to be built on the Temple Mount would be the rapture. I'm of the persuasion that Psalm 83 in conjunction with Isaiah 17 are next in the prophetic timeline and then Russia will occupy Syria in the vacuum that occurs after Damascus is destroyed. That may be the "hook in the jaw" of Russia. Russia has seemed reluctant this entire time to commit serious troop strength to Syria. They seem perfectly content with a couple thousand troops there overseeing the port and other operations. Ezekiel 38:9 seems to describe a very large force coming against Israel and right now Russia has nothing like that there. The destruction of Damascus would provide a plausible scenario for Russia to move a large number of forces into Syria to take over security there and preserve their investment. It also seems like there has to be a period of time between Psalm 83/Isaiah 17 & Ezekiel 38 for Russia to assemble in Syria. A force that large doesn't move in overnight.
ReplyDeleteSome believe psalm 83/Isaiah 17 and then Ezekiel 38 will occur in rapid succession and the BOTH will occur AFTER the rapture, while others (myself included) are of the OPINION (and that's all it really is) that psalm 83/Isaiah 17 will occur BEFORE the rapture and their will be a period of time between that and Ezekiel 38 and the rapture will likely occur around the same time as Ezekiel 38. Whatever the case we must watch ALWAYS. I lean towards the latter, but it will happen in God's timing.

Amen! I have my opinion and speculation, but that's all it is, opinion and speculation. Anyone who says such and such WILL happen before (or after) the rapture is to be devoutly ignored. Perhaps this is a little bit far, but when someone insists that the rapture occurs after the tribulation after being shown much proof otherwise, I wonder if I'm dealing with a lost person. Perhaps today???

Jan Markell's Olive Tree Ministries, which you link to on the home page of your blog in the right hand rail, had a great interview this weekend (posted on her web site) with former Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann. Ms. Bachmann said she has met recently with senior advisors in the Trump administration and shared from the Bible why it would be a disaster to divide the land of Israel for peace. She also shared Bill Koenig's excellent book, "Eye to Eye," with at least two advisors and had Koenig write an executive summary of the contents to share with them all. So if Trump's so-called deal of the century in any way attempts to divide the land of Israel in a peace scheme, the president has been duly warned of the consequences."

ReplyDeletePresident Trump has this "Deal of the Century" plan going forward for ME peace. It remains full steam ahead, and it's getting closer to a critical juncture in a couple months time, maybe the JUN JUL timeframe - unless something major happens, either in the ME or here at home.
At the same time, there is an ongoing coup d'etat against President Trump, just as much full speed ahead. The coup d'etat is run by the so-called "Deep State" and that group is made up of both Americans in high places and foreigners. Eliteists. Globalists. The so-called "World Order" folks. They exonerated Hillary Clinton of her crimes and turned their full attention to Donald J. Trump. Their full attention is, as stated on the blog before, by any and all means necessary.
A coup d'etat is a kind of civil war. Civil wars are wars as Jesus prophesied in Matthew 24, the Olivet Discourse. This civil war directly affects all of us, one way or another. No one should stick their heads in the sand. God is in complete control, but being informed helps us to understand our role before we're caught up out of here.
Anyway, in the past few days even President Trump himself has begun to refer to this as a coup against him. I've been saying this would happen for two and a half years or so. So President Trump did a big interview with Hannity the other night. Rush Limbaugh has been on his nationally syndicated radio show talking about all of the. Iran threatened to close the Strait of Hormuz as a response to US-led sanctions against Iran. Both US and Israel won't tolerate this closure and will attack Iran to keep this strait open. Will this be the trigger for the flood of prophetic events which precede the start of the Tribulation Period?

DeleteIran has made this threat for many years and knows the steep price it would pay for doing so... their small navy would cease to exist.
So, the US Navy would open the Strait of Hormuz very quickly if Iran dared to try closing it, but the US would not necessarily attack Iran proper.
