Global SITREP C8-22: Temple Mount (Tisha b'Av)

Rainbow over the Temple Mount (Moriah) and Mount of Olives

UPDATE 02 August 2022: In keeping with the theme of the SITREP, an item written by Rabbi Hagai Lundin (linked below) appeared in today's edition of Arutz Sheva (7 Israel National News) caught my attention, mostly because I've been expecting something along these lines to appear in Israeli media in conjunction with Tisha B'Av: Will the Temple Be Built This Year?

The image above heads the Rabbi's article. I find it to be exceptionally appropriate in that its a type of canopy over both the Temple Mount and the Mount of Olives; it encompasses a scene of tremendous prophetic importance for both the children of Israel and Christians. If only the Jews were to realize what exactly it is they pray and fast so fervently for. They will, eventually, come to that realization but it will take the tragic events of Israel's 70th Week of Years to bring them, for the most part, to that realization.

The land under this rainbow will be the prophetic scene of Revelation 11. Long-time readers will recall that we've covered some of this before. Almost exactly six years ago I made a re-post of what had originally appeared on Eschatology Today five years prior to that date in December 2011 regarding the text of that prophecy about The Two Witnesses. The nearness of the fulfillment of Revelation 11 begs for a re-visitation, and what better time than during the days of mourning and fasting in Israel.

The point to re-emphasize here is that the 3rd Temple, which the word of God makes very explicit, is standing, completed and in use as the Two Witnesses begin their prophetic one thousand two hundred sixty day ministry.

To be continued shortly...

28 July 2022: Today marks the first day of the month of Av. As most know very well, the 9th of Av has historically been a day of mourning, deprivation, prayer and fasting in commemoration of the calamities that have befallen the Israel on Tisha B'Av due to a manifest lack of faith and failure to observe the ordinances of God.

Tisha B'Av is the culmination of the first nine days of Av, and which extends to the previous three weeks as that is when several Roman legions began their siege of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount in 70 AD. While this date has no real significance of Christians, it marks 3,335 years since the first of several tragic events dating back to the time of the Exodus and the deliverance of Israel from bondage in Egypt.

As Christians we should recognize that these events in Israel's history are a progression, a process that eventually will lead to all Israel being redeemed in the Blood of our Messiah, Jesus Christ. We recall what occurred during the Exodus that caused Moses to break the first set of tablets, inscribed by the Divine finger of God Himself. How utterly priceless were those tablets! No one knows what truly became of them even though oral tradition says that were carried in the Ark of the Covenant. Purely speculative, but the breaking of those tablets when Moses saw the golden calf and Israel worshipping its as their god might seem as the initial in a multiple millennia long series of Tisha B'Av tragedies.

Today this day Israel remains under the terms of the covenant God told Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab (Deuteronomy 29:4). Read the entire chapter for context, and Paul's reference to this in Romans 11:8.

Further, we're told that the first Tisha B'Av event occurred in 1313 BC when the spies returned from scouting the land and the children of Israel balked at entering the Promised Land due to the bad report and that God's response was for that generation to wander in the wilderness for 40 years, to die there and their children would be the first to enter Eretz Israel.

Then came the destruction of the First and Second Temples on Mount Moriah, by the Babylonians and Romans respectively in 586 BC and 70 AD. This was followed by the revolt against Rome led by Simon Bar Kokhba and which ended with Simon Bar Kokhba and his Jewish Army in the town of Betar being utterly slaughtered by Roman legions on Tisha B'Av 135 AD.

Again, this is all part of an ongoing process, a process which will ultimately culminate with the prophetic verse in Ezekiel 39:29. This is how Eschatology Today thinks of the meaning of Tisha B'Av.

  1. The timing of SITREP C8-22 : Temple Mount (Tisha b'Av) should surprise no one.

  2. Many prophecy teachers speculate the dome of the rock will be destroyed during the Ezekiel 38&39 battle, but I think it could be destroyed during the psalm 83 war and the temple rebuilt just after the Ezekiel 38&39 prophecy is rebuilt. I suppose we'll find out soon enough

    1. I agree with you Jon.

Ezekiel 38/39 does not have a single word or even intimate anything concerning Jerusalem or the Temple Mount.

The Psalm 83 scenario is most likely IMHO.

  3. Regarding Hezbollah war threat, JPost has an OpEd about it.

    Hezbollah War Threat?

Most Israeli media are ignoring the Hezbollah threat, seemingly because the Israeli Intelligence Community (IC) has dismissed it as non-credible.

  4. Here's an interesting discussion on video.

How many of us would expect the Harpazo to occur on Tisha b'Av?

  5. The advent of the Harpazo/Rapture has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with any economic, societal or political situation on earth.

    Period.

    1. There is more that could've been stated in this SITREP, but it's sufficient that the main points were made.

    2. And as for the near-term prophetic issues, regarding Temple Mount, I believe Scripture covers them very well where necessary, and there will not be a great length of time to the fulfillment of them.

  6. There's a lot going on behind the scenes WRT the Saudi plan for a two-state solution.

Israel, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the PLO/PA are negotiating to create what will be known as The Hashemite Kingdom of Palestine.

This new state will include all of Jordan, portions of Judea and Samaria contiguous with Jordan, and the Gaza Strip. King Abdullah will remain as the king of the new state.

There is no question this is a plan to divide (cede portions of land) that belong to Eretz Israel. It may be the catalyst for the Psalm 83 war scenario.

    1. Personally I'm thinking it'll be D.O.A. but I may be wrong

    2. Nah, I think you're spot on correct, DOA. Even more, there will likely be no "Arrival" to speak of.

Psalm 83 says it perfectly, and that's what we believe because that's what God told Asaph to write.

  11. The live fire drills are an attack, just not direct upon the territories of Taiwan proper.

The invasion will come once PLA commanders and their forces are fully familiarized with the AO in and around the Island.

Each of the live fire boxes around the island indicates a point of attack when the order to invade is issued.

    1. PLA Live Fire Boxes

Today the CCP PLA launched ballistic missiles, they have overflown Taiwan and impacted the Pacific off the east coast.

    2. Today the CCP PLA also launched nine ballistic missiles towards Japan. Five of them impacted 80km from Yonaguni Island, Japan's westernmost territory.

  12. From Arutz Sheva report yesterday:

"Hossein Salami, commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guards, claims that the Hezbollah terrorist organization has prepared between 10 and 20 thousand missiles intended to be launched at Israel. Speaking in Tehran, Salami said that if Israel makes a mistake, a large-scale military operation will begin against it. Earlier this week, Salami said that Hezbollah has more than 100,000 missiles that are ready for a military campaign."

These are the weapons Eschatology Today assesses that will be unleashed against Israel per Isaiah 17; some will have WMD warheads, their lethal effect is made clear in Isaiah's prophecy.

  13. The IDF has launched what it believes is preemptive action against PIJ terrorists in Gaza.

However, this IDF action may be the casus belli Hezbollah, HAMAS and the others have been waiting for. We'll soon see...

    1. PIJ missile fire has continued with intermittent pauses. The firing has been wildly inaccurate with the majority impacting the Mediterranean Sea or in Gaza itself. Iron Dome has dispatched all that were threats to population centers.

  21. Operation Breaking Dawn (Sunrise) has a very strong chance of soon escalating into Iran, Lebanon (Hezbollah) and further into Gaza against HAMAS.

  22. We're teetering on the doorstep of the next Global SITREP, and the only determining parameter on when it posts is whether or not HAMAS and Hezbollah (at Iran's prodding) engage in the ongoing war.

The IDF has made it clear that if the PIJ halt the missile fire this war is over.

However, I think the PIJ's missile fire, also at Iranian direction, might just be the opening to the larger war we know as the Psalm 83 scenario.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Two hours ago a tenuous ceasefire between PIJ and Israel began and its continuance is dependent on Israel freeing the PIJ terrorist leader al-Saadi captured at the start of Operation Breaking Dawn in Samaria. Egypt promised the PIJ it would secure his release by Israel.
