UPDATED 2 December 2024: The map above is current to the present date and represents the most current information on the advance of Islamist forces in northeastern Syria. The advance of the several allied Sunni Islamist militias southwards from the Idlib Governorate is encapsulated within the bold, red-colored borders. The military situation in this region is extremely fluid and will likely change rapidly in the coming hours and days.
An Eschatology Today assessment of this map indicates the Sunni Islamist forces currently have two primary objectives in the wake of their blitzkrieg-like capture of Aleppo (further to the north or top of this map): 1.) The city of Hama. Islamist forces are within a very few miles of HAMA this morning, certainly within its northern suburbs.
2.) The Russian military enclave at Khmeimim Air Base adjacent to the town of Jablah. Khmeimim AB is noted by the symbol of a black jet aircraft approximately 15 miles from the red-colored protrusion towards the Mediterranean Sea from the main axis of the Islamists southern advance.
This map also shows the main M5 north-south highway in western Syria, which runs straight from Aleppo to Hama, to Homs and south to Damascus. It is noted as the thin red line top to bottom within the red-bordered Islamist advance through newly captured territory.
Has covered the prophetic elements of the Syrian Civil War for a minimum of the past decade with the essential cores being Isaiah 17 and Jeremiah 49:23-27. Keep these two Scriptures close because they both clearly indicate near-future developments. The Syrian civil war is a key element in the end-times prophetic scenario, with Isaiah 18:3 as a particular standout. Jeremiah 49:23-27 brings in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the ancient region of Edom and Dedan (Arabia), Hamath (Hama), Arpad and finally Damascus.
ISW Critical Threats map of Syria 12/4/24 |
UPDATE 6 December 2024: Following their capture of Hama and the Hama military air base yesterday the Sunni Islamist forces continued their advance southward and toward the equally strategic city of Homs. The advance is along two axes of approach. The primary approach is via the north-south Highway 5, and the secondary is from Ismaili Shi'a town of As-Salamiye (Salamiyah) via the Raqqa-Homs Highway.
This advance appears to be more rapid than previously seen as the local municipalities are negotiating surrender prior to the arrival of rebel troop columns. The Sunni Islamists promised no retribution against local populations and that they can continue their normal functioning. The Syrian army had all but disintegrated in front of the Sunni Islamist advance with only minor engagements or brief firefights. As of this date there are no Syrian army defensive positions along the approaches to Homs.
A potential death knell for the Al-Assad regime may be seen in Hezbollah declaring it will not send additional forces to defend Damascus as it is committed to "sheltering and rebuilding" in Lebanon; that it will abide by the Lebanon-Israel ceasefire agreement.
Few, if any, take Hezbollah at its word. Israel this morning sent IAF strike aircraft to destroy new missile launch sites pointed at Israeli targets. Israel has greatly beefed up the IDF forces along the Syrian border as daily and even hourly IDF re-assessments of the situation in Syria are becoming the norm.
In this light the next best hope for the survival of the Syrian regime is for Russia to airlift its forces (numbering in the several thousands) in the African Sahel (Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Central African Republic and Libya) to the Khmeimim Air Base in Latakia, Syria. It remains to be seen if this redeployment will take place.
I'll attempt to keep abreast of developments as this is an extremely fluid situation.
ReplyDeleteIt is true that IAF fighter aircraft intercepted and forced an IRGC 747 in Syrian airspace and forced it to return to Iran last night. The 747 was assessed to be an IRGC-QF weapons carrier for Hezbollah and/or the Syrian Army. Under no circumstate will Israel permit Iranian weapons deliveries into Syria.
Hundreds of Iraqi Shi'a militia troops crossed into Syria overnight at the Al-AbuKamal border crossing under IRGC control. They are heading to northwestern Syria, but they also represent a direct threat to Israel in a potential land invasion via the Golan.
To what (or who) can the Syrian rebel forces sudden success from the stalemate of 2016 be attributed?
ReplyDeleteTurkiye? Yes, for sure.
But wait, there's more! Ukraine is involved. Specifically a Ukrainian special forces group known as “Khimik." Khimik operates under the Ukrainian Military Intelligence Directorate, or HUR (GUR in English and akin to the old GRU).
The HUR Khimik SF group has been attacking, capturing and killing Russian troops and mercenaries (read, Wagner PMC) for years in Africa (Sudan, etc), or anywhere they can be found in the world.
One such location is Syria where Ukrainian HUR Special Forces have taken to assaulting Russian garrisons, airfields and isolated units for the past 6 months at the minimum, possibly longer. And they've been very successful in their mission thus far.
Hezbollah fired mortars at an IDF position on Mount Dov today. The IAF struck powerfully ar the souce of the fire. Minor breaches of the "truce" will be treated as major breaches.
ReplyDeletePresident-elect Trump Warns HAMAS:
ReplyDelete"Please let this TRUTH serve to represent that if the hostages are not released prior to January 20, 2025, the date that I proudly assume Office as President of the United States, there will be ALL HELL TO PAY in the Middle East, and for those in charge who perpetrated these atrocities against Humanity. Those responsible will be hit harder than anybody has been hit in the long and storied History of the United States of America. RELEASE THE HOSTAGES NOW!"
I'm kinda stunned no one has made a comment about the POTUS-elect's statement above.
DeleteCould it be that in just four short years the nuances of Trumpian linguistics have been forgotten?
Brothers and Sisters, the POTUS-elect is clearly saying that if all hostages are not freed by Inauguration Day, then American Buffs, Bone's, Spirit's and Raider's will be wheels up and winging it to Iran and Gaza.
21st Century gunboat diplomacy.
Bro. Sean; Pleased, impressed - but not overly surprised - is the likely issue behind the 'radio silence'. DJT has been 'regularising' a number of issues; before even taking office. Media hacks going to Maralago, Justine Castro (aka 'Justin from Canada') doing the same; the Mexican President 'agreeing' to cooperate on migrant caravans; judicial lawfare cases being dropped like hot potatoes - not to mention events in Europe and the ME. It is somewhat amusing - in a dark sort of way. Bro. Steve
DeleteI'm not one to set a specific date, especially those of prophetic importance.
DeleteHowever, Trump has set a very specific date which just might have exceptional prophetic importance.
Sean, it is truly a stunning statement...and I think it may be Trump's "Reagan" moment. The entire middle east landscape is about to radically change starting Jan 20, 2025. Israel won't be agreeing to ridiculous forced ceasefires to get needed weapons, nor held back from destroying the twelver's nuke abilities like they have under this anti-God crime regime in DC. Trumps' strong comment/threat seemed like a direct warning to the twelvers-the same criminals the current resident and his evil cabal financed. America's redemption tour courtesy of DJT. Looking back at the assassination attempt, this seemed to be DJT's coronation to lead. Yes, he will lead the US, but (to your point), he will do God's work and be part of the fulfillment of prophesy. I just pray he is the literal "last Trump" and we go Home somewhere during his term! Maranatha!! LD
DeleteThe statement from DJT didn't surprise me at all.. the next steps after that statement will be epic. Trump's not the type to paint red lines and then move them
DeleteTrump's statement wasn't really surprising or "kinda stunning" to yours truly, but the lack of responses to it from ya'll. However, ya'll have now fixed that vacuum very nicely! Thanks!
DeleteAs we've noted here before, God has a mission set before DJT and there's no doubt that a real "mission complete" banner will be realized.
Sean, I am fascinated by not just that statement DJT made, but how abruptly Canada and Mexico have acquiesced. At the same time, South Korea is a mess, France is a mess, and the ME continues to be the ME we've known it to be. Jan 20 can't come fast enough! It's hard to imagine the left going quietly as they have thus far, so getting to and past Jan 20 will be nice. Meanwhile, I keep an eye on Syria and the rest of Gog/Magog. Thanks for all you do, Sean, and you seem to be well recovered - glad for that! Chris U
DeleteAs columns of IRGC-QF proxy forces (Iraqi and Afghan Shi'a militia) move west through Syria will Israel launch pre-emptive strikes on them?
ReplyDeleteAdm. Daniel Hagari suggested it is a possibility, saying
"Israel will act according to the appropriate position."
Man, it's like God is just funneling them in to "execute" Isaiah 17/Jeremiah 49:23-27!
DeleteA major engagement between Al-Assad's Syrian Army, supported by IRGC-QF proxies, and the Sunni jihadist rebels will occur along an east-west defensive line just north of Hama in the next 24-36 hours.
ReplyDelete"Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets,
DeleteAnd all the men of war shall be cut off in that day,” says the Lord of hosts."
That "day" is rapidly approaching.
The Syria counteroffensive is underway but needs immediate success because its resouces and reserve trrops are very limited.
DeleteGlobal media is propagating a false narrative that Israel's so-called "ceasefire" with Lebanese Hezbollah is the reason why the HTS-led assault on Aleppo began and continued to the gates of Hama.
ReplyDelete1. Israel's agreement is with Lebanon, not Hezbollah; Hezbollah merely agreed in principle with, as any jihadist group being destroyed in war with infidels would agree to a hudna to re-group, re-arm and then re-engage in battle with the infidel enemy.
2. Hezbollah withdrew virtually all of its military forces out of Syria in preparation for full-scale war with Israel beginning in late October 2023 through Seprember 2024.
3. Israel did not initiate ceasefire talks, but had the negotiation forced upon them via blackmail by the criminal Biden regime and globalist EU powers.
There are many pieces to this beyond these three but this will get folks to thinking and to see recent history for what it really was vice what the Globalists want us to accept.
It seems this is leading to fulfillment of Joshua 13:1, 5-6.
DeleteEspecially in light of MoD Katz’ threat to not distinguish between Lebanon and Hezbollah if the ceasefire breaks down.
DeleteBullseye Chuck!
DeleteOn Tuesday at least two U.S. A-10C Thunderbolt II "Warthogs" chewed up a column of enemy forces (IRGC-QF Iraqi militia) that were assessed as posing a threat to the U.S. base in Dier Ez-Zor, Syria known as Mission Support Site (MSS) Euphrates.
ReplyDeleteNumerous tactical vehicles and a T-64 tank were destroyed by the Warthogs. Human casualties had to have resulted as well. Recall that a column of Iraqi Shi'a PMU militia had crossed into Syria on Monday, allegedly headed to western Syria in support of al-Assad's Syrian Army defending Hama.
Grunts in the sky - BRRRRRRT!! Favourite sound of the guys on the ground. Bro Steve.
DeleteThe Iraqi PMU column had a very bad day.
DeleteSaw a headline this morning that Tucker Carlson is ringing the bells regarding Russia/nukes/etc, after his interview with Lavrov. (Thankfully… it’s about time someone in MSM did). But I thought to myself, “I already knew this, because I follow ET.”
ReplyDeleteI saw Tucker's video last night. Did he actually say that U.S. troops pushed the button to launch ATACMS into Russia?!?!
DeleteThe HIMARS vehicle can launch ATACMS missiles, and Ukrainian troops have been using the HIMARS for several months now, so why would US troops be needed? Hoping Tucker misspoke!
Noted in Item #2 of this SITREP is Russia's Khmeimim Air Base. There is also the Russian naval base at Tartus. Russia has quickly evacuated three surface combatant ships (frigates), an attack submarine and two naval support ships from Tartus.
ReplyDeleteThe Islamist rebel forces have captured armed, road-mobile, Smerch tactical missile systems (TMS) from the Syrian Army which could easily strike both Khmeimim AB and Tartus naval base. Ukrainian GUR special forces could provide rapid expert technical assistance on how to use the Smerch TMS.
There is a very high-level Russia, Syria and Iran meeting in Moscow today. Iran may announce the comitment of its armed forces to defend the al-Assad regime.
Warm water sea ports are extremely precious to the Russians - they do not have the 'sea to shining sea' situation that the US is blessed with (at least not year-round). Gog will be extremely unhappy about this Tartus development. Perhaps one of the 'hooks'. Bro. Steve
DeleteAt least two BM-30 Smerch were captured as well as well as a previous seizure of a 9T234-2 reloading vehicle for the Smerch system.
DeleteThe BM-30 Smerch is a heavy 300mm rocket system known for its ability to deliver devastating barrages over long distances.
To top this off three Russian T-80/90 Main Battle Tanks (MBT) were abandoned by Syrian troops and captured by the Islamist rebels.
This warfare is causing serious attrition among Israel enemies. No doubt why this is so.
If the end comes like a flood, it feels like the creek has reached its linits
DeleteThere is fear that Bashar al-Assad will employ chemical warfare against the Islamist rebels.
ReplyDeleteAs of Wednesday afternoon Hama is surrounded on the north, east and western sides by the rebel forces, leaving open the south towards Homs as an avenue of retreat.
As of this morning columns of Islamist rebels have withstood a Syrian Army and Iranian proxy counterattack supported by Russian airpower. The Islamists have continued their advance into central Hama.
ReplyDeleteThe IAF struck weapons depots north of Damascus during Wednesday night.
To say that Bashar al-Assad's Syrian regime is between "Iraq and a hard place" is no understatement.
ReplyDeleteSyria and Iraq have been belligerents for over 40 years. So it is a mildly amusing eye-opener that Bashar al-Assad has requested Iraq's military intervention in the civil war that gets closer every day to toppling his Alawite-led Ba'athist regime.
Hezbollah and Iran are strapped down. The best Iraq could do they have already done in allowing Iran's proxy PMU militias to cross the common border into Syria a few day ago.
Again, Isaiah's prophecy concerning the end of Damascus' kingdom in Syria is in a process of active fulfillment. The "kingdom" controlled from Damascus is being destroyed before our eyes.
Think outside of the box and consider what Damascus will look like when it is surrounded and beseiged by rebel forces from the north and east.
DeleteHama city has fallen to the Sunni Islamist rebel forces. Residents of Hama cheer them as liberators.
ReplyDeleteIDF top brass have assessed the Syrian situation; declare Israel's readiness to defend or attack depending on how developments dictate their response.
Hezbollah's current head honcho, Naim Qassem, says his Shi'a terrorists will aid Al-Assad's army in its war with Sunni terrorists.
ReplyDeleteNo one is certain what type of aid can be provided by Hezbollah after a severe thrashing by Israel, but it's a sure bet that Hezbollah will use this as a vehicle to import Syrian weapons back into Lebanon. It's an even surer bet Israel will preemp this plot at every turn.
In fact, it's the most probable reason why Israel destroyed the Syrian arms depot north of Damascus last night. Israel has a top-tier intelligence apparatus.
Israel is concerned that al-Assad's army could collapse.
DeleteTens of thousands of Alawites are fleeing west from Homs towards the Tartus coast by any means available. Their flight is out of fear of the Sunni Islamist advance. Hama is just 25 miles north of Homs.
ReplyDeleteI cannot help but wonder; if the Jihadists / Sunni armies capture Damascus, would they then have control over the chemical and biological warfare weapons? I am guessing so. How long would it take for them to launch something from that stockpile into Israel, thereby requiring Israel to respond via Isaiah 17? God knows WHO does it and God knows WHEN all these things will take place. I can't help but think of Daniel chapter 5. King Belshazzar and his nobles were celebrating and praising their false gods and that very night, the kingdom was taken from them.
ReplyDeleteJason,
DeleteThose weapons are not located in Damascus, they are in depot(s) elsewhere in Syria and may or may not be within rebel control. There's no way of knowing at this time.
Well, that didn't take long. About an hour ago the Sunni Islamist rebels entered the city of Homs unopposed.
ReplyDeleteIt gets worse for the regime by the minute. The rebellion has spread to provinces south and east of Damascus. Suwayda and Quneitra provinces are in full rebellion; cities like Dara'a are now wth the rebels. And units like the 25th and 8th Divisions of the Syrian Arab Army have defected to the rebellion.
DeleteThe rebels are also begging Israel to attack IRGC-QF proxies, and making promises of peaceful coexistence after Damascus falls.
Also today, the Syrian Arab Army abandoned their positions in Deir Ez-Zor city and the Al Qaim crossing on the Syria-Iraq border.
ReplyDeleteThe US-backed Kurdish SDF moved very quickly to take over all territory abandoned by the Syrian Army and thereby deprived Iran its primary crossing and logistical support route into Syria from Iraq. This isolates all IRGC-QF proxy forces in Syria from overland resupply from Iran and Iraq.
The fall of the city of Homs will completely isolate the Russian bases at Khmeimim and Tartus and sever Damascus from the Alawite heartland along Syria's Mediterranean Sea coastline.
ReplyDeleteThe US-backed Syrian Free Army has pushed northwards from the US base at Al-Tanf (on the Syria, Iraq and Jordan border junction) to engage regime forces at Palmyra. The US is providing logistical support to the Syrian Free Army.
ReplyDeleteFeels like we may see the Kingdom fall in a matter of days
ReplyDeleteThe cited Isaiah and Jeremiah prophecies are absolutely in a process of literal fulfillment; yet there are many aspects to both of them that speak to events greater than witnessed thus far. Meaning, we ain't seen nothin' yet.
DeleteSaturday, December 7.
ReplyDeleteThe Al-Assad regime has this week conducted a series of rapid strategic withdrawals of the Syrian Army from Deir ez-Zor, Suwayd, and Quneitra. These forces have been redeployed to defend Damascus at all costs.
The sum of the rebellious forces are also converging on Damascus from three directions, the north, the east and the south.
The Syrian Army withdrew northward from Quneitra and the Golan, the local non-Islamist rebels of southern Syria now control virtually all of the Syria-Jordan border from Al-Tanf to the southern Golan (ancient Bashan).
Russian forces have withdrawn from all over Syria into the Tartus and Latakia Governorates to defend Khmeimim Air Base and Port Tartus. There are reports that Turkey has assured Russia the rebel forces it supports will pose no threat to Russian forces in their march to beseige Damascus and remove Bashar Al-Assad's dictatorship from power.
Bashar Al-Assad's family has been evacuated to Moscow, Russia.
DeleteWhere is Bashar al-Assad? MIA.
DeleteBro. Sean - any truth to the reports that Assad has landed in Tehran? Or just smoke and mirrors. Certainly, if true, then that would be sub-optimal to the morale of remaining regime troops; who appear to be defecting in significant numbers. Bro. Steve
DeleteAccording to flight radar tracking the location in western Syrian territory where contact the IL-76 was lost IS known. Waiting on downed aircraft reports (can't hide an IL-76 crash site on land) or the actual located wreckage. If a ruse then someone took a page from the lost Maylaysian jetliner and intentionally turned off all positional beacons at that point during the southward u-turn.
DeleteWe should study Isaiah 17 in all of its details.
ReplyDeleteGod has hidden nothing from us here. There is no need to add things to what He has spoken through the prophet Isaiah.
Interesting references of a similar vein to Ephraim (v.3); Valley of Raphaim (v.5 - analogy) and Cities of Aroer (v.2). Geographically forms a WNW-ESE 'band' across Israel and western Jordan, transecting the Dead Sea in its middle.
DeleteCombined with the vv.4-6 ref about the fatness of Jacob growing 'lean', perhaps some sort of catastrophic attack focussed in central Israel, that falls out into western Jordan.
Looking at the current (albeit fluid) dynamic in Syria, it does not look like Damascus will become a 'ruinous heap' through conventional conflict (i.e. given the rate of surrender - defection of regime forces). (Damascus) Under the command of Sunni fanatics, however; anything could transpire.
Anyone have any thoughts on this? Either way - we are going to find out in the very near term methinks. Bro. Steve
The Russian Navy flotilla (3 frigates, 1 attack submarine) has returned to Tartus Naval Base following hypersonic missile testing in the eastern Med.
ReplyDeleteAn unknown armed force entered the UNDOF no-mans-land on the Syrian side of the Golan and attacked UN troops. The IDF has intervened to defend the UN troops, and bolstered further its forces on the Golan. PM Netanyahu convened the Security Cabinet this evening.
ReplyDeleteSeveral Russian heavy airlifters (IL-76 and AN-124) arrived at Khmeimim Air Base today. Evacuations are likely in progress.
ReplyDeleteBoth Khmeimim Air Base and Tartus Naval Base are now cut off from Damascus.
Delete8 December 2024
ReplyDeleteDamascus has fallen to the rebellion.
Bashar al-Assad may have fled onboard a Syria Air IL-76 aircraft which flew northwest towards Khmeimim, made a u-turn and dropped off radar. May have crashed, killing Al-Assad.
Update when details get sorted.
