Global SITREP B5-16: It's Worse Than You Think

1 April 2016: Although I delayed posting this SITREP until this morning, this is not intended as anything like an 'April Fools' joke, even though some in Washington and elsewhere in the country might think we're all fools. Who knows, perhaps in light of Bible prophecy it could be said that we are literal pawns fully engaged in a fools errand given the entire gamut of recent events as the secular world lurches uncontrollably and a great speed down the road to Revelation.

Not quite one year ago Global SITREP C5-15 was posted (a good re-read folks), and it dealt with the same subject as this one - North Korea's incessant arming of itself with doomsday nuclear weaponry and the means of delivery of those weapons to targets from 'sea to shining sea.'  Not bad for a so-called pariah nation which is now telling its people (who have long been just shy of starvation) to prepare themselves for famine.  As if they need a hint about what is coming.

The image above I am informed is from October 2015. Consider this in light of what was posted in May 2015 in the aforementioned SITREP C5-15. There's no doubt that the photo intelligence analysts who studied this image came to their concluding assessment months ago: North Korea has a brand new long-range ICBM to go along with their also new KN-08 road-mobile ICBM and their KN-11 submarine-launched ICBM, upon which they can sit their newly tested, fully miniaturized thermonuclear warhead. 

These nuclear weapons delivery systems appear to be based upon existing Russian and Chinese rocket designs as well as AQ Khan designs and technology transfers. The big word for this kind of activity is proliferation of nuclear weapons technology. Obviously it is rampant.

As with the previous SITREP, this one also rides on the reporting provided by Bill Gertz as published yesterday by the Washington Free Beacon: "Pentagon Confirms New North Korean ICBM."  To that report I will add what the cited analyst does not say about North Korea's nuclear capability. While the KN-14 launched from a northern corner of North Korea could strike Chicago, a further development of this ICBM is not really necessary as the submarine-launched KN-11 when fired from a mid-Pacific Ocean location north of Hawai'i would have Washington, DC or new York City well with its targeting envelope. Additionally, any nation capable of putting a payload into orbit around the earth is capable of hitting any target on earth with a nuke, including a high-altitude EMP burst nuclear weapon.

As I have often made known, a North Korean nuke is an Iranian nuke, so what ever threat we now face from North Korean nuclear weapons, we also very probably face from Iran. In this Jeremiah 49:34 can not come to fulfillment soon enough in my estimation. The sooner the better. All of this development by North Korea (and Iran) has come during the Obama Administration. 

It can be said with great assurance that Obama's policies with respect to both of these countries, as well as their technological benefactors, has accelerated their nuclear weapons programs. Yes, Barack Hussein Obama built this, and we gave him the license to do it. Twice. Moreover, the feckless Obama Administration has now provided them with virtually unlimited cash cow funding as a direct result of the idiotic nuclear accord Obama and Kerry handed to Iran on a silver platter with flourishes. Think anyone on this planet can walk this genie back into its bottle? Think again. And our elected Congress sits on its collective thumb, while those who would replace Obama have reduced what used to be relatively honorable election campaigning to a puerile school-yard fracas.

Global SITREP C5-15: North Korea Testing Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile

6 May 2015: Historians say that Roman Emperor Nero fiddled while Rome burned.  Present day American intelligence officials are saying that U.S. President Barack Obama is fiddling around while North Korea develops nuclear missiles and the submarine platform from which to launch them in order to make America burn.

The development of this technology was reported in yesterday's edition of Israel National News (INN) under the headline, "N. Korea Submarine Missile Allows Covert Nuclear Strike on US." The source article for the INN report was one I often cite here on matters of defense, intelligence and military matters of prophetic implications: Bill Gertz writing for the Washington Free Beacon. In fact, so profound are the implications of Bill Gertz' new article, which cites on-the-record albeit anonymous confirming statements by Pentagon and US intelligence officials, that the ink was barely dry and the digits white-hot off the computer when Israeli and other conservative media published their reports.

The Bill Gertz article published in the Washington Free Beacon yesterday is titled "North Korea Conducts Ejection Test of New Submarine Missile" and contains the sub-text "Third sub-launched missile test by Pyongyang since November."  Of course, it should go almost without saying that Eschatology Today readers are very aware that the North Korean and Iranian nuclear weapons and missile delivery programs are Siamese twins joined at the hip; the technology developed between them is virtually identical in every way. 

So, the bottom line here is that the North Koreans are testing what US defense officials are calling the KN-11 submarine-launched nuclear-armed ballistic missile. They have Russian-made Golf-II-class nuclear missile firing submarines like the ones seen in the images above. This is the kind of nuclear weapon system that is designed for one mission and one mission only - to stealthily position itself off the enemy's coastline (America, no doubt) and fire a salvo of nuclear missiles at its great cities, or in nuclear airbursts at the well-calculated altitude to cause continent-spanning Electro-Magnetic Pulses (EMP) to bring our electronics-laden society to a screeching halt and defenseless against other incoming nuclear warheads. 

This is not science fiction, this is what our enemy's are preparing to do to us and have been very successfully testing in perfecting their weaponry for many months and even years now. What!? You haven't you heard President Obama warn us repeatedly about this existential threat to our well-being and what he is doing as our Commander-In-Chief to defend against it? Was this subject not one of the lead stories on last night's evening news covered by the major media? Not to worry, you didn't miss a thing because both Obama and his media have been as silent about this as the great marble statue found in the center of hundreds and thousands of American town squares from sea to shining sea. Not so much as a peep.

But honorable and loyal Americans are speaking up; they are talking within the limits of their oaths to protect classified information, and while they still can talk, to diligent reporters like Bill Gertz who publish what they have to say so you and I know what's really going on in imperial Washington, D.C.

Some examples excerpted from the cited report.

"Current and former national security officials criticized the Obama administration for not doing more to counter the North Korean nuclear threat to the United States. “This missile, along with the KN-08, happened on Obama’s watch and nothing has been done,” said a U.S. intelligence official critical of the Obama administration. “By utterly ignoring North Korea’s growing missile threats, Obama has allowed the threat of rogue state proliferators to fall out of the center of the national political debate,” said John Bolton, former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. “This is a potential tragedy for the country.”

Retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Thomas McInerney said North Korea’s development of the KN-08 and the emerging SLBM present “threats to the continental United States and have been developed under the Obama administration’s leadership.” “Leading from behind is a failed strategy as evidenced by this very dangerous strategic threat to the continental United States of nuclear attack by a very unstable North Korean government,” he said.

Allowing Iran to become a nuclear weapons power in 15 years under the Obama’s administration’s propose Iran nuclear deal “puts the United States in the most dangerous threat of nuclear attack since the height of the Cold War but from multiple threats—North Korea, China, Russia, and Iran,” McInerney said."

We now know the truth is that North Korea currently has an arsenal of 20 nuclear warheads. They have an ongoing and increasing enrichment technology that will provide them with another 20 warheads by next year. This is an existent North Korean nuclear arsenal that was supposed to have been prevented from existing by what diplomatic vehicles?  So-called "crippling economic sanctions" and multi-lateral negotiations, the so-called "Six-Party talks," between North Korea, China, Russia, the United States, South Korea and Japan, and with United Nations Security Council and IAEA over-watch, which lasted for four years, form 2003 to 2007. The years of negotiations were a complete and total failure, a charade of the highest order because North Korea detonated is first nuclear warhead in 2009. That was just six year ago, and Obama is doing the exact same thing with Iran today.

Does anyone think we need a modern-day prophet to tell us what is going to happen next? Is recent history our teacher? How about Jeremiah? Any questions?  And, yes, as always, our God is in control.

Global SITREP B3-13: ISRAEL'S FINAL WARNING ON IRAN

This image is of PM Netanyahu before the UN General Assembly in September 2012 explaining that Israel's red line for Iranian nuclear weapons program would be crossed in mid-2013. Was he bluffing? Did he make a fool of himself and the State of Israel before the entire world with empty rhetoric? Or did he mean what he said and is Iran now 3.5 months inside of this drawn red-line? Will PM Netanyahu be giving the same speech to the UN General Assembly in 2014?

UPDATE 28 October 2013: With respect to the ISIS update posted below two days ago, Danny Danon, Israel's Deputy Defense Minister, went on-the-record concerning the true meaning of that analysis:

"We have made it crystal clear - in all possible forums, that Israel will not stand by and watch Iran develop weaponry that will put us, the entire Middle East and eventually the world, under an Iranian umbrella of terror."

26 October 2013: Many have questioned and some have even denied that PM Bibi Netanyahu has reached the end of the rope with Iran and its drive for indigenous nuclear weapons capability. Some see him as weak and ineffective, prone to cave-in to whatever an American president demands of him. But then again, such people do not know what Bibi Netanyahu and several of the world's leading nuclear weapons experts have been aware of since last month. Not only will Iran be able to produce about 7 nuclear weapons by Christmas, but the first of those weapons could be constructed and deployed before we can cook our turkey dinners this coming Thanksgiving Day. 

This is news that comes not from a leak inside Israel, but from an analytical study (.pdf file: Iranian Breakout Estimates, October 24, 2013) conducted by the Institute for Science and International Security (ISIS) as revealed in yesterday's edition of USA Today. And, yes, ISIS is an American institution. And, unlike the Obama Administration, the ISIS is under no illusion nor are they in denial about what 19,000 spinning Iranian IR-1 and IR-2m enrichment centrifuges can accomplish within the next month without anyone on planet earth knowing that it had occurred until after the weapon was detonated in a test. This is likely the urgency driving Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu's final warnings to Iran and the world-at-large.

20 October 2013: The key intelligence item that has emerged from the recently adjourned P5+1 nuclear negotiations in Geneva is this: Iran has arrived at the technological point of its military applications of uranium enrichment and weapon design and delivery where it could construct approximately 7 deliverable weapons in just 8 weeks time. Put another way, the apocalyptic Iranian regime could construct and deliver its own nuclear weapon by Christmas 2013. This level of Iranian achievement is non-negotiable in further talks, nor will it be reduced in any manner whatsoever. Iran has determined to retain this technological capability in perpetuity and to execute the final sprint to weapons construction without any outside party being aware of it. The question is: How comfortable is Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu with this fact?

16 October 2013: "The first lesson is to never underestimate a threat, never underestimate an enemy, never ignore the signs of danger. We can’t assume the enemy will act in ways that are convenient for us. The enemy can surprise us. Israel will not fall asleep on its watch again. 

We can’t surrender the option of a preventive strike. It is not necessary in every situation, and it must be weighed carefully and seriously. But there are situations in which paying heed to the international price of such a step is outweighed by the price in blood we will pay if we absorb a strategic strike that will demand a response later on, and perhaps too late.

A preventive war, even a preventive strike, is among the most difficult decisions a government can take, because it will never be able to prove what would have happened if it had not acted. But the key difference between the Six Day War (June 1967) and the Yom Kippur War (October 1973) lies first of all in the fact that in the Six Day War we launched a preventive strike that broke the chokehold our enemies had placed on us, and on Yom Kippur the government decided, despite all warnings, to absorb the full force of an enemy attack." 

--The above are the essential words of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel as spoken on Tuesday, 15 October 2013, on the 40th Anniversary of the 1973 Yom Kippur War in a speech to the Israeli Knesset.

Assessment: If the negotiations currently underway in Geneva, Switzerland between the five permanent members of the United Nation Security Council P5+1 (US, UK, France, Russia and China, + Germany) and the Islamic Republic of Iran results in the easing of its imposed economic sanctions against Iran and fails to dismantle Iranian nuclear weapons capabilities, then the amount of time that remains before Israel launches preemptive strikes on Iran might well be counted in single digit days.


14 October 2013: A final warning is a final warning. Anyone who thinks that the Prime Minister of Israel is bluffing about his intent to prevent apocalyptic Iranian Shi'a from possessing nuclear weapons had better THINK AGAIN because "never again" means exactly that, never again.

9 October 2013: Make no mistake, one week ago yesterday at the meeting of the 68th General Assembly of the United Nations, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered to the world what can only be understood as Israel's final warning prior to taking action, unilateral if necessary, against the Iranian nuclear weapons program. You can view the video of PM Netanyahu's U.N. speech HERE. 

Contrary to and well-beyond how the majority of western media portrayed this speech as Netanyahu's use of mild "wolf in sheep's clothing" euphemisms to describe Iranian President Rouhani's charm offensive, the Israeli PM delivered a lesson in 4000 years of Jewish history dating back to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; that this 4000 years of history is at this moment challenged by a nuclear armed Iran that unambiguously seeks Israel's destruction. 

In his speech Netanyahu emphasized what we know as the 2500-year old Biblical historical account of Persian King Cyrus famous edict liberating the Jews from the Babylonian exile and proclaiming their right to return to their ancestral homeland in Israel and to rebuild the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem. Netanyahu emphasized that this was a well-known historical Persian decree, which thereby declared as invalid all current Islamic edicts regarding Israel's existence as mere modern-day fabrications of deceived minds.

Prime Minister Netanyahu made clear that Israel's struggle is not with the Persian people, nor with the Arab people for that matter. Israel's struggle is with the false religious construct that is Islam and which has thoroughly deceived those under its dictates in more modern times. In Iran's case, since as recently as 1979, just 34 years ago. The poignant contrast was drawn by Netanyahu between 2,500 years of Jewish-Persian friendship and the past 34 years of blind hatred brought about by the "unforgiving creed" and "unforgiving regime" that is Islam which has conquered and crushed the Persian people's hope for democracy.

Prime Minister Netahyahu's speech speaks for itself. I urge you to click the link above and watch it for yourself. "Facts are stubborn things" stated the Prime Minister of Israel. The fact is these words are the final warning that will be given prior to Israel doing what it must in exercising its vigilance to ensure its own future from the Iranian nuclear threat.

The primary prophetic reference here is to Jeremiah 49:34-39 as has been discussed many times on Eschatology Today.  However, the Lord also spoke through the angel Gabriel with respect to the extent of Persian ascendency among the gentile nations, and this can be found in its fullest extent within the text of Daniel 10:10 and 11:4.

Daniel 11:2 is a single prophetic sentence that encompasses over 200 years of history. This verse takes us from the first year of Darius, through a total of four subsequent Persian kings to the end of the Persian (Achaemenid) Empire when it is crushed in verse 3 by Greece, and which is the Biblical introduction to Alexander III of Macedon, more famously known as Alexander the Great. From the Bible's prophetic perspective Persia is no longer relevant as a great power and appears only briefly in Ezekiel 38:5 as a second tier ally in the final pre-70th Week military engagement of significance.

Global SITREP B1-13: Reliving Daniel 11 in Preparation for Daniel 12

29 September 2013: We have all just lived through a series of events during August and September 2013 that almost defy description. If my analysis of these events is correct, then we will have all been eyewitnesses to international travesty and conspiracy of Biblical prophetic proportions whether we all realize it or not. It is, in some sense, as if we are reliving the prophetic text of Daniel 11which prepare the way for the prophetic text of Daniel 12 which is without question about the 70th Week. 

Once verse which immediately came to mind in the midst of the recent G20 Summit reflects the text of Daniel 11:27 as far as what transpired between the President of the United States Barack Obama and the Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin:

"Both these kings’ hearts shall be bent on evil, and they shall speak lies at the same table; but it shall not prosper, for the end will still be at the appointed time."

On the surface the text Daniel 11 is clearly about prophecies the series wars that occur between the two great empires of the Middle East, the Macedonian-Greek Seleucid Empire and the Macedonian Greek Ptolemaic Empire. However, the subtext, the foreshadowing text is about the conditions and events that precede the arrival of the future Antichrist of the 70th Week. This is clearly evident because it is within this text that the forerunner Antichrist, Antiochus IV Epiphanes, is introduced to us along with all of the international intrigue and conflict which preceded his arrival. 

It was during the classical historical period of the late 4th Century BC to the early 1st century BC that world events developed which fulfilled the bulk of the prophecies found in the Book of Daniel, many of them directly from the mouth of the angel Gabriel. When it comes to authority, Gabriel is an angel who stands in the presence of God when he is in Heaven. He literally transmits the word and will of God to human beings. It is during this so-called classical period of human history that the Babylonian Empire was overtaken by the Medo-Persian Empire, which in turn was overtaken by the Macedonian-Greek Empire, which was divided into four parts and was then absorbed piece by piece by the final world empire of Rome explicitly as prophesied in Daniel, and completed by the prophesies in The Revelation of Jesus Christ. 

It is during the final century of this period that geo-political events, particularly rampant wars and the absorption of entire nations into a known-world empire, occurred at a rapid pace, so much so that the map of the Mediterranean and Middle East of 1 AD greatly resembles the current map and military dynamic of the same region of the Eastern Hemisphere. There is much to be learned by just looking at the maps of the Eastern Hemisphere between the 4th Century and 1st Century BC.

Given that we are now living in the last days prior to the advent of the 70th Week, I think we can look to Daniel 11 as the foreshadowing of the time in which we are currently living; it is the time immediately preceding the arrival of the Antichrist, and the events between this day are preparing the way for his arrival. My view is that this is not prophetic stage-setting per se, this actually is the fulfillment of already existent prophetic templates found in Daniel.

A brief re-cap of current events shows us that in early August President Obama went from a very public snubbing of President Putin by refusing to meet with him at a Moscow Summit (see: SITREP A18-13) to the face-to-face meeting that I forecast would occur during the G20 Summit in St. Petersburg, Russia. This meeting happened at St. Petersburg Konstantin Palace and it had all of the overtly evidence marks of a grand performance, a charade, where the visitor pretended power and the host knew he was flexible in such a manner that he would cave-in climactic fashion within mere days later. 

After all the naval drama on the high seas of the Eastern Mediterranean and the bellicose threats of unilaterally and without Congressional approval in an exercise of not-quite-so-crushing military power upon Vladimir Putin's Syrian ally and his in-country Persian and Lebanese Shi'a allies, Obama did indeed fold like a cheap camera in the face of pure evil, all the while still embracing the equally and purely evil desires of Sunni jihadism in Syria. This, my brothers and sisters, is the kind of "flexibility" that President Obama told former Russian President Dimitry Medvedev in March 2012 that he would have after the November 2012 election. This "flexibility" took us from the apparent brink of a regional war over WMD in Syria a couple of weeks ago to acceptance of Syrian WMD as well as a nuclear-armed Iran. 

All of this has left Israel holding the proverbial bag. A week or so ago I might have needed someone to tell me this was not President Obama's intent all along; that this kind of crisis-to-resolution-to-crisis behavior has not occurred repeatedly during his tenure irregardless if the crisis is between himself and President Putin, Syria's President Bashar al-Assad, Israeli PM Bibi Netanyahu, Egyptian President Hosni Murbarak or even the U.S. Congress. 

In seeking the Lord's Word on what is going on these days it's been made very clear that these things must take place, that we are not to fear them, and "the end' is not yet. We're living in the modern part of the Daniel 11 foreshadowing and the imminent fulfillment of existent prophetic templates on the road to the 70th Week. Stay tuned... the concluding prophetic paragraphs are something to behold, and this is why I believe we are still here as witnesses of them.

Global SITREP A30-13: A Nuclear Iran

26 September 2013: It appears that the worst fears of many regarding a nuclear-armed Islamic Republic of Iran may well be realized, and we have a DEBKAfile article published yesterday and the Ayatollah Khamenei and IRGC-linked Kayhan newspaper published in Tehran this morning to thank for the confirmation of those fears.

Yesterday DEBKAfile published an article in which it reported that President Obama has been in direct secret negotiations (led by SECSTATE John Kerry) with Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and his newly elected sock-puppet president Hassan Rouhani. The core issue in the DEBKAfile report on the secret deal is that Obama has caved-in and accepted Iranian nuclear enrichment capability at 20% as well as all of the stocks of fissionable uranium possessed by Iran. Additional details are at the link.

In exchange for Obama's epic proportion cave-in Iran will agree to limit the number of enrichment centrifuges operating at its Natanz facility. The number of advanced IR2 and IR1 centrifuges Iran will be limited to is unknown. There is no mention of the many other Iranian enrichment facilities known to be in operation. Also completely absent are any undeclared sites involved in the Iranian nuclear weapons program, or what penalties might be incurred should Iran secretly execute the short hop from 20% to a weapons grade level enrichment of uranium. This sounds like a trust but verify secret deal with the IAEA in full control of the verify portion.

This morning the Kayhan newspaper published a front-page article under a red-letter banner headline declaring that DEBKAfile had revealed the details of the secret US-Iranian nuclear agreement. 

What I wouldn't give to be a fly on the wall of Israeli PM Bibi Netanyahu's next Security Cabinet and fully-staffed National Security Council meetings. For that matter, as loud as voices might be raised anywhere in a near vicinity might suffice.

Ayatollah Khamenei: "Set Israel on Fire."

3 February 2013: It is interesting how the Jerusalem Post announces one thing with its headline, yet the article launches into a discussion of something that is actually benign in comparison.

As if the EU's non-recognition of the Shi'a Hezbollah as a terrorist organization compares to what the Ayatollah has decreed as his personal mission twelve years ago.

In the first place, Hezbollah has from its first day of existence been an integral part of the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Since its founding by Hassan Nasrallah in 1982 Hezbollah has been a a forward deployed branch of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC). The EU's failure to identify them as a terrorist organization seems a rather minor and blatant moot point, does it not? More than that, it's a patently stupid thing to be discussing at such a high-level think-tank of "global experts" in a conference setting.

Then, however, if you click the link to the main article URL you do get to the heart of the real issue facing the world-at-large and Israel in particular for the past twelve years.

Allow me to paraphrase two paragraphs of the article with all due emphasis:

Rafael Bardaji, is a former special adviser to former Spanish Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar. Bardaji, who attended a 2001 meeting between PM Aznar and Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, said when Khamenei was asked what his role within the Islamic Republic is he responded: “To set Israel on fire.”

It is a point of fact that Western leaders and other assorted talking heads are on record saying that they are waiting for hard evidence that Ayatollah Khamenei has issued a decree, a nuclear weapons fatwa, to Iranian scientists for the construction of nuclear weapons before launching preemptive military counter-measures.

It is not obvious to these Western leaders that the Ayatollah's response to former Spanish PM Aznar twelve years ago was the decree they have been so patiently waiting for? Is there some ambiguity in Iran pursuing nuclear weapons capability and the Ayatollah's stated role of "setting Israel on fire?"

The Iranian leadership, from the Ayatollah on down to his sock-puppet Ahmadinejad, will on a day-to-day basis to Western media and Muslims alike refer to Israel as the "Zionist entity." However, when they are being deliberate and direct in their comments they refer to Israel as Israel. Iranian intentions as decreed by Ayatollah Khamenei  in 2001 could not be more crystal clear.

The time for "coercive diplomacy" with Iran was over before it began. Military action against Iranian nuclear designs is now fully twelve years past its due date.

Jeremiah 49: Will a Coalition of Nations Move Against Iran? (Yes, They Will!!)

27 April 2012: At this point, some 19 months since first posting this "work in progress," there exists for the first time very strong evidence for the existence of a coalition of nations prepared to move militarily against the nuclear weapons aspirations of the Islamic Republic of Iran in what I believe will be a highly probable literal fulfillment in our day of Jeremiah 49:34-39. (Please read the original posit on this interpretive theory down below for a refresher if that is necessary.)

Israel Defense Forces Chief-of-Staff Lientenant General Binyamin "Benny" Gantz informed the world yesterday of the existence of a coalition of nations who are prepared to execute offensive, preemptory military strikes on Iranian military targets should it become necessary to do so. While not specifying which nations would join Israel in striking Iran, LTG Gantz was completely unambiguous in the words he used:

 "The military force is ready, not only our forces, but other forces as well. We all hope that there will be no necessity to use this force, but we are absolutely sure of its existence."   

 There is no doubt in my mind that the Shi'a Twelver regime in Iran hold that the acquisition of an indigenous nuclear weapons and delivery capability as the key to achieving a chaotic and apocalyptic scenario in order to self-fulfill their own eschatological beliefs about an Islamic messianic figure known as the al-Mahdi. In this context it is simply not possible for the Iranian regime to abandon its eschatological beliefs any more than it would be for the Bride of Christ to abandon the blessed hope of the Harpazo. Therefore, it does appear that full-scale regional warfare in the Middle East and Southwest Asia is a very near inevitability given the closeness of Iranian technological success in achieving nuclear weapon capability. As has been have stated often times before, for Israel "Never Again" means Never Again. The Lord's will be done for His Divine purposes.

     

21 October 2011: It has been a full year since this article was posted here, and an awful lot has changed. Across the Arab-Islamic fundamentalist world there has occurred a sea change, particularly in the past 10 months of this year. Rod-of-Iron dictators who had held Arab Islamic fundamentalists at bay since the Iranian (Persian) revolution of 1979 have been removed from power by popular uprisings or are teetering on the brink of being ousted in the face of armed rebellion, to the killing of key fundamentalist leaders in the Islamic jihad movement. The world has focused on this so-called "Arab Spring."

But another key event has occurred this year which I have mentioned previously in this blog, and that is the ongoing armed clash between the Arab ruling House of Saudi Arabia and the apocalypse-minded Persian Shi'ite Twelver regime of the Islamic Republic of Iran. These armed clashes between Iranian-funded and inspired Shi'a have occurred on Yemeni soil, on Saudi soil and on Bahrani soil. With the recent revelation by the United States of an Iranian plot to assassinate the Saudi Ambassador to the US and to attack the Saudi and Israeli embassies in Washington, DC this Arab-Persian war nearly arrived on US soil. Understandably, the Saudi's are livid; they are demanding that action be taken against Iran, particularly the ending of its nuclear weapons program by force of arms.

This new paradigm finds the Saudi king and the Israeli leadership in agreement on what needs to be done with respect to the Iranian nuclear program, and the US is voicing its pledge that Iran will be held accountable for the assassination and embassy bombing plot. In Israel there has been conservative opinion expressed which holds that PM Netanyahu and his cabinet agreed to renounce their key principles in dealing with the terrorists of HAMAS to free Gilad Shalit from captivity in order to "clear his desk" for Israel to confront Iran head on. On Tuesday evening, October 11th Prime Minister Netanyahu spoke to his countrymen about a "window of opportunity that is about to be closed and connected it to geostrategic developments."

Is Iran now facing the prospect of a "perfect storm" coming from all directions external to its own borders? Are the words of the prophet Jeremiah below relative to this new situation? I tend to think they are, and I tend to think we may see their fulfillment to the letter as Bible prophecy is always fulfilled. Not only does Iran have this external threat to deal with as the prophecy details, but should the Ayatollah's regime be subjected to the right kind external non-nuclear military action then the door opens for the Iranian regime to see revolt from within its own borders as the second to last verse appears to indicate (emphasis added): "‘And I will send the sword after them Until I have consumed them. I will set My throne in Elam, and will destroy from there the king and the princes' says the Lord."

15 September 2010: Jeremiah 49:34-39

The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet against Elam, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying, “Thus says the LORD of hosts:

‘ Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, The foremost of their might. Against Elam I will bring the four winds From the four quarters of heaven, And scatter them toward all those winds; There shall be no nations where the outcasts of Elam will not go. For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies And before those who seek their life. I will bring disaster upon them, My fierce anger,’ says the LORD; ‘ And I will send the sword after them Until I have consumed them. I will set My throne in Elam, And will destroy from there the king and the princes,’ says the LORD. ‘ But it shall come to pass in the latter days: I will bring back the captives of Elam,’ says the LORD.”

Although this is a work in-progress, I'd like to propose an interpretation whereby this prophetic "Judgment on Elam" from Jeremiah, which self-dates to the beginning of the reign of King Zedekiah, or circa 595 BC, will be fulfilled in the near future, possibly prior to the final fulfillment of Psalm 83, and definitively prior to Ezekiel 38/39. I'm anchoring this future fulfillment upon the historical fact that the Elamite Kingdom ceased to exist during the ten year process of the Assyrian conquest led by King Ashurbanipal which was completed in 639 BC. Since Before Christ dates count downward, the gap of time between these years places the prophetic "Judgment on Elam" as being given to Jeremiah by the Lord approximately 44 years after the Assyrian conquest of Elam, and thus providing a strong context for latter days fulfillment.

There is also the related issue of a clear distinction in those ancient times between the Elamites and the Pä·ras'/Persians (old Persian: Pārsa) of Ezekiel 38:5. The Persian's originated in the region east of Elam defined by the natural boundary created by the Zagros Mountains, and the eastern most extent of the Elamite Kingdom at the city of Anshan/Anzan (modern-day Tepe Maylan, Iran). With the collapse of the Elamite Kingdom the Persians slowly took control with the Medes of what we know today as modern Iran.

According to several maps I've studied, the ancient Elamite Empire could well be considered to constitute the core territory of the present day Iranian nuclear effort (i.e. the uranium mines and yellow cake processing facilities at Saghand and Ardekan, near Yazd; the Uranium Conversion Facility (UCF) at the Esfahan; the Natanz uranium enrichment facility, and the nuclear crown jewel at Bushehr). The Iranian nuclear weapons program is fully integrated with the Iranian ballistic missile delivery vehicles, and which together could well be interpreted as the the arrows of "Elam's" bow, "the foremost of their might" of verse 35 which is precisely the greatest strength of the current Iranian military.

In the next verse we read that the judgment comes in the form of "the four winds" (i.e. all points on the compass and intimating many nations) as being the "sword" the Lord sends after them. Also looking at the map of Iran, it does appear that Arab nations, the principle of which is Saudi Arabia, would be among those coming against Elam from the southern "wind" along with many other nations constituting the other three directions. This includes Israel and many other nations such as the NATO alliance, and clearly invokes the modern day notion of a warfighting coalition of nations such as we saw in the early 1990s Operation Desert Storm against Iraq and the present day Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.

Some current context for this interpretive theory.

19 months ago (FEB 2009) there were more than a few highly qualified nuclear weapons experts at the Herzliya Conference in Israel - one of whom was Russian Major-General Vladimir Dvorkin - who said that the Islamic Republic of Iran already had already achieved a nuclear weapons capability.

This was reported world-wide by Bill Gertz in his "Inside the Ring" column. General Dvorkin was quoted saying, “Iran has developed the capability to produce and fire nuclear weapons.”

General Dvorkin told the Hezliya Conference Iran had acquired most of the components for building its nuclear weapon by 2003, and "The only way I see the problem being resolved is by military action.”

Former U.S. Speaker of the House of Representatives Newt Gingrich told this same conference three years ealier that three Iranian nuclear weapons constituted a nuclear holocaust for Israel, and if used against the United States would result in the loss of two to three American cities, and the direct result of such an attack would be that "freedom as we know it will disappear, and we will become a much grimmer, much more militarized, dictatorial society."

It is a standing premise of this interpretive theory that while the "Global Oligarchists" are creating a hideous system of world governance ready-made for the coming Western Antichrist to usurp, they are not even close to being the suicidal maniacs of Jihadist Islam - such as the Shi'a Islamic Republic of Iran has created. I think it reasonable to expect them to act in concert - in a grand military coalition which they most certainly do control right now - to defend the world system they're creating from the Iranian al-mahdist apocalypse.

Arriving at a point-of-no-return regarding Iranian nuclear development, a point possibly defined by an Iranian nuclear test detonation, possibly occurring in North Korea instead of Iran, a coalition of nations attacking these many above ground nuclear sites might release radiation and necessitate the need for the population to seek refuge in distant places, as intimated in verse 36c: "There shall be no nations where the outcasts of Elam will not go." The Bushehr plant particularly meets this criteria.
