Global SITREP A8-25: The Terminal Phase of the War Against the Islamic Republic of Iran

Some readers may not have seen this in the archive listing of Eschatology Today posts and SITREP's, so it may serve as both a reminder and new information for all readers. It most certainly is relevant to the present as you will see after reading it.

Global SITREP B3-18: The War Against Iran Escalates: JCPOA Nuclear Deal is Toast

30 April 2018: It was a very bad day for the Islamic Republic of Iran, and if it's any consolation to the Ayatollah, much worse days are yet to come. 

The image above is of the fireball that erupted following a preemptive strike on what had been known as the Syria Arab Army's 47th Brigade base located 7 miles south of Hama in northwestern Syria. The base, which had been occupied by an IRGC militia of Pakistani Shi'a known as Liya Zaynabiyoun, is adjacent to the village of Ma'arin al-Jabal. The "had been" is due to the size of the first and second order detonations; it is unlikely much remains of this base. 

This base itself has been noted by some as a bunker complex. On the contrary, the three massive above ground structures were perfect for housing and/or assembling fairly large ballistic missiles. The largest of the structures, seen in satellite images captured earlier this year, was well over 400 feet in length and 300 feet in width, two relatively smaller structures measured approximately 300 feet in length and 75 feet in width. Eight ancillary buildings were adjacent to the larger ones and could not have escaped the primary and secondary blasts intact.

Accordingly, use of a bunker buster bomb does not fit the above-ground nature of this facility. However, Israel's version of the US Mk-82 laser guided bomb, known as the MP-500 (Massive Penetrator 500 lbs) could have been the weapon of choice to level this facility and leave a gigantic smoking hole in its place.

The main blast registered as a 2.6 Richter scale event on regional seimosgraphs. According to many reports the blast and dozens of simultaneous secondary ordnance detonations killed or wounded a very large number of the Pakistani Shi'a militiamen who apparently had duty safeguarding two hundred Iranian ballistic missiles destined for delivery to Lebanese Hezbollah. That delivery has obviously been cancelled. Additional strikes are reported to have occurred at bases near Aleppo, but they do not even remotely compare to what happened at Ma'arin al-Jabal at 10:30 PM Sunday night.

Then came Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu's equally massive nuclear bombshell regarding the Iranian nuclear weapons program. To be short and sweet on this issue, this intelligence coup makes preemptive strikes on the Iranian nuclear weapons sites more likely than not. The nonsensical JCPOA that Obama and Kerry masterminded is now just so much burnt toast. We'll find out how burnt it is in about 12 days time.

It also must be noted that the Israeli human intelligence collection operation which secured the hundreds of thousands of documents and digital data is unlike anything any nation has achieved in modern history. A close second intelligence coup might be the Polish engineer during WWII who memorized the Nazi "Enigma" cryptographic machine's impossibly complex inner workings so that allied engineers could reporoduce it in England. However, even the Enigma machine pales in comparison the the details exposed by the Israeli operation.

And as US President Trump prepares to meet with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, Eschatology Today would be completely remiss to not note one important detail revealed by PM Netanyahu. The Iranian warhead design appears to be virtually identical to the primary core that Kim Jong Un was photographed standing next to not too long ago. As has long been maintained here, the North Korean and Iranian nuclear programs have been conjoined twins for decades.

UPDATE 1 May 2018: If you've not yet seen the entirety of PM Netanyahu's presentation on the Islamic Republic of Iran's "Project Amad," please make the effort to do so as what I am adding as an update will bring all of his revealed information full-circle and bring full understanding on why Iran has been dead set on the development nuclear weapons.

The Iranian development of nuclear weapons has always been 100% about Shi'a Islamic eschatology. In fact, the name of their effort, which PM Netanyahu revealed as "Project Amad" is actually over-anglicized from the Farsi language and should be "Project Amahd." "Project Amahd" itself is actually Farsi shorthand for its true name, "Project al-Mahdi." Many of you are now likely having a light bulb illuminating in your minds because you are aware that the mythical al-Mahdi is central to much of the Islamic creed. For Shi'a Islami, the al-Mahdi is ground zero for all of their eschatological beliefs.

The focus here will not be on the mythical man who is this Shi'a messianic figure, but what his adherents, known as Hojjatieh and Twelvers, believe. For them the al-Mahdi is the foundation of everything they believe. And what they believe is the utility of nuclear weapons in quickly achieving their end-state objective in hastening the al-Mahdi's reappearance once they possess such weapons. Israel knows this, and the U.S. Government ever since the Clinton Administration has known this. Now we all know this.

A few brief points on what the Shi'a believe and are acting on. The Iranian Shi'a Twelvers, who are 85% of Shi'a Islam, all believe that the Sunni Muslims will make war on the al-Mahdi. So Iran has been at war with Sunni Islam for some time due to this belief. 

The Iranian Shi'a Twelvers also believe - and this explains perfectly why Iran is so invested in the Syrian Civil War - that a great war must occur in Syria until the country is completely destroyed. A similar rationale exists for the country of Iraq. The Shi'a Twelvers, such as former president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his clique of Hojjatieh clerics believe that provoking nuclear war with Israel or America will hasten al-Mahdi's reappearance; such chaos is critical to this end. If the Islamic Republic of Iran acquires nuclear weapons, such as the five weapons PM Netanyahu cited, they will use them.

Now you should have full understanding on why the U.S. and Israel, and a precious few other nations, particularly Saudi-led GCC, see the imperative necessity of preempting Iranian acquisition of nuclear weapons even if it means launching strikes into Iran.

Russia-Iran Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty

UPDATE 22 April 2025: Eschatology Today believes that the events of the past three days effectively signal that the critical moment of the Jeremiah 49:34-39 prophecy is now at hand. Do not be dismayed if you missed notification of the events, the vast majority of the media deliberately attempted to keep you in the dark. However, that's why I and some other watchmen are here!

Saturday night Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu issued a video recorded speech. Although advance notice was given of the speech the vast majority of Israel's left-wing media outlets declined to air the speech in full. Some even declared it unworthy of the airtime required to present it in full, while others obfuscated the critical point of the speech completely. Nevertheless, the critical point in the speech came when the PM said that while he greatly preferred a joint strike by the US and Israel to neuter the Iranian nuclear program, Israel is prepared to go it alone.

The response to PM Netanyahu from Russian dictator Vladimir Putin came yesterday morning when he officially signed (ratified) the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty (CSTP) between Russia and the Islamic Republic of Iran. This "covenant" between Russia and Iran is effectively a comprehensive alliance geared toward their military and diplomatic agendas. It is a direct challenge to Israel and the United States intended to forestall joint or unilateral military action against Iran's nuclear program. 

Leaning forward, Eschatology Today assesses that the CSTP will fail its intended purpose but will ultimately result in the fulfillment of Ezekiel 38/39. Put another way in full, the CSTP will fail to preempt the fulfillment of Jeremiah 49:34-39 but will result thereafter in the fulfillment of Ezekiel 38/39. In-between these two fulfillments are the fulfillments of Isaiah 17 and the conclusion of the Psalm 83 war, both currently in a process of fulfillment.

Global SITREP B2-22: Bible Prophecy In The News

10 March 2022: The now 14-day old invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation and Belarus, the Union State of Russia and Belarus has had an effect not seen since the 1973 Yom Kippur War. Suddenly the prophetic Scripture of Ezekiel 38/39 is a hot news item, with reporting ranging from outright scoffing and ridicule to the prophetic interpretation of this event you've been reading on Eschatology Today for a solid three months, and before then going back to the first act of Russia's invasion of Ukraine (Global SITREP B13-14: Ukraine (Russia Invades) of March 1, 2014). I'd suggest a re-reading of that SITREP to recall what virtually everyone has forgotten, particularly the part dealing with, and frequently mentioned here, the 1994 Budapest Memorandum. 

In considering the Budapest memorandum there is an interesting fact to mention once again. The US, UK and Russia were nuclear armed nations back then, so what has changed? Everyone, except perhaps Putin, seems supremely paranoid of what invoking the clauses of the memorandum could lead to if it were upheld to the letter. Seriously, there is a left-of-center government in the USA in 2022 as there was in 1994 and again in 2014. So what has changed? Perhaps the Holy Restrainer is doing what He does best, applying restraint in an ever collapsing world. But I digress.

Back to Bible prophecy in the MSM. On the Beliver side of this issue we have seen in the past 10 days Pat Robertson (700 Club) come out of retirement to offer his take on what this war portends; that God is compelling Putin to invade Ukraine, but that Putin's goal is ultimately to invade Israel, and Pastor Greg Laurie with his excellent and now viral video response to the Russian invasion is embedded in the link for your viewing. We the bride of Christ understand these accurate presentations of prophetic Scripture. There are legions of such comentaries as these available on the internet.

In an Eschatology Today conducted Google search with the criteria "Ukraine Bible Prophecy" there were more than 1.2 million results presented. Those results vary as much in content as the number 1.2 million imples. Everything from the Chicago Sun-Times article about Ukraine's former first lady Katernyna Yushchenko offering about an 11th century mosaic (Oranta Mosaic in the Kyiv Cathedral) of the Virgin Mary offering protection and the survival of Ukraine if Russian troops do not destroy it. The mosaic is ostensibly under UNESCO protection, so that shoud keep Russian ordnance at bay. And then there are the scoffers. 

One of the worst scoffers is found on the website of very poorly named The Christian Post. It assures its readers through a tweeted quote from Old Testament and Semitic scholar Michael S. Heiser, that "The idea that Ezekiel 38 and 39 is about Russia or a Russian invasion has literally no merit in terms of exegesis." That's the, and I use the term loosely, educated view of an "Old Testament scholar." Yet The Christian Post gives Heiser the "without a doubt" nod of being absolutely correct as compared to what we all believe Ezekiel 38/39 foretells. When it comes to scoffers, the Word of God is absolutely correct. The scoffers offer nothing more than world-class pablum. Let the internet surfer beware.

Eschatology Today believes that while Russia's invasion of Ukraine will be followed soon enough by God placing spiritual hooks in Gog of Magog's jaws to draw him and his military confederation to destruction on the mountains of Israel, there are other prophecies that concern Israel as we know the country today which must take place prior to the application of those hooks. 

For example, in Ezekiel 38:11-16 Gog of Magog and his entire military force, down to the smallest shard of human bone, are to be buried in the Valley of Hamon Gog which lies east of the Dead Sea in what today is the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. This invokes Psalm 83, Isaiah 11:12-14 and Ezekiel 28:24-26 as requiring literal fulfillments first. If Christians and Christian sites want to tak about the fulfillment of prophecy, they need to speak to it indepth because fulfillment of the Lord's prophetic word is exact and inerrant to the letter of each written word.

Global SITREP F5-21: The Current Situation Part II

 

8 July 2021: The two words in the image above have profound meaning far beyond the obvious and the political spin MSM have been propagating for weeks now. 

For Afghanistan the sudden U.S. withdrawal is projected to closely mirror what took place in Iraq a decade ago when President Obama suddenly pulled U.S. troops out of what had been several phases of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The immediate results were a bloodbath in both Iraq and Syria which coincided with the meteoric rise of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), and a new surge of U.S. forces back into both nations to deal with that disaster in Operation Inherent Resolve - which continues. 

That premature withdrawal resulted in the instantaneous collapse of the Iraqi National Army and the loss of billions in tanks, trucks, artillery, ammunition and training of Iraqi troops who fled in great haste from the jihadist insurgents. And to this very hour the rocket and drone attacks against remnant U.S. troops of Operation Inherent Resolve on their bases in Iraq as well as the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad are incessant. And Biden says... crickets.

Is there not a single capable historian within the Biden Administration or among those who pull upon his marionette strings? 

The jihadist Taliban of Afghanistan are now over-running the entire country - again as they did 20 years ago. As has been their nature in years prior, many Afghan troops are switching sides as quickly as if they were simply changing from a white pakol (traditional woolen Afghan hat) to a black pakol. Beyond this, the even more important geopolitical dangers to both India and Pakistan are almost incalculable, as much or more than the dangers now facing the whole of Central Asia (hint: Gog/Magog and allies). 

It's a no-brainer that the People's Republic of China and the Russian Federation will move swiftly to full the vacuum caused by the American withdrawal. The CENTCOM AOR map below illustrates the dangers from a strategic perspective and amplifies the prophetic interpretation Eschatology Today has provided for the past 12 years. Major geopolitical changes have preceded the fulfillment of Biblical prophecy for thousands of years, and this year and the immediate future years are no different in this regard. 

President Biden will (hopefully) speak to these issues this afternoon, and until then this keyboard will be idling.

Global SITREP B7-20: Rumors of War Part III

King Abdullah II of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

UPDATE 2 June 2020: Each tick of the clock these days brings a new item, and each new item brings fulfillment of Bible prophecy that much closer. Here are the latest ticks worth mentioning. 

An overwhelming number of Middle East observers now agree that IAF combat aircraft (likely a pair of F-35I Adir) conducted a strike Sunday afternoon on a vehicular convoy of Iranian proxy militiamen near Albukamal, Deir Ezzor province, Syria. At least five foreign militiamen serving Iran were killed. 

Russia has deployed one of its newest main battle tanks, the T-14 Armata, onto the Syrian battlefield. Along with these tanks the Russians have also deployed their newest anti-air laser weapons system, known as the Peresvet, for operational combat testing. The Peresvet is a near clone of the U.S. Navy's AN/SEQ-3 Laser Weapons System (LaWS) and is credited with the recent shoot-down of an Israeli reconnaissance drone flying in Syrian airspace just north of the Golan.

Upgraded Russian MiG-29 were delivered to the Syrian Arab Air Force (SAAF) on 30 May at Hmeimim Air Base. The SAAF intends to use them to engage and shoot down the IAF F-16I Sufa strike aircraft. SAAF pilots commenced flying the MiG-29's yesterday.

A massive amount of armor of Syrian Arab Army (SAA) as well as Hezbollah and other Iranian proxy militia are prepped for an imminent full-scale offensive in the Daraa, Syria region (northeast of the Golan) against a rebel resurgence there.  Israel will take a very dim view of such an offensive.


26 May 2020: Today the Commander USAFRICOM released at statement announcing the detection of Russian strike aircraft deploying to eastern Libya from Syria. These aircraft were watched closely from the moment they departed Russian airspace, into Syria, and then across the Mediterranean Sea into Libya. These aircraft will be for ground combat support of Russia's ground forces (Wagner Group) mercenaries fighting to defeat the U.N.-recognized Government of National Accord in Tripoli. Russian pilots in Russian aircraft bombing Libyan soldiers in order to advance Russia's interests in Libya. The link to Ezekiel 38/39 in this action is blatantly obvious.

According to PM Netanyahu yesterday, Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria will commence on 1 July 2020. Jordan annexed Judea and Samaria, as well as East Jerusalem, in the aftermath of Israel's War of Independence in 1948. This was not a problem for Israel at that; no bellicose or warlike threats were made. Yet after Israel conquered Judea and Samaria in the June 1967 war it has remained under Israeli state control ever since. Only now the the Muslim enemies around Israel, and in Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey are bellicose and warlike words heard from their side. Erdogan went so far as to say that he personally would not permit Israel's annexation of Judea and Samaria to occur. Given this level of bellicosity, with or without Turkish threats, should we expect war to erupt in about a month from now if PM Netanyahu fulfills his plan for annexation? Eschatology Today would assess war under these circumstances as a high probability.

18 May 2020: While this may be Part III of the current 'Rumors of War' series, it is also a timely follow-up to Global SITREP D3-19 of 06OCT19, serving to remind us of the events which took place eight months to a year ago as Israel's secular government began devolving into political collapse. Indeed, we've discussed this overall picture now and then for the better part of the past six years.

At this time we have renewed forward momentum, even with a new secular, merry-go-round coalition government forming. It is very telling that the immediate and somewhat preemptive reaction from Amman looks and smells very much like the prophetic scenario formed by Psalm 83; Isaiah 11:12-14 and Ezekiel 28:24-26. 

Jordan's king Abdullah II is once more lifting up his head in warning about "Chaos and extremism" followed by a "massive conflict" when Israel proceeds with its long-rumored land-swap annexation of  Judea and Samaria within the framework of the Trump Administration's "Peace and Prosperity" plan. This kind of oratory bellicosity has to be proceeded by in-depth counsel and consultation among the various regional Arab factions. Accordingly, the overall prophetic narrative is having all the right boxes checked.

Global SITREP A3-20: The Rise of Gog

18 January 2020: The events which took place in Moscow, Russia this week are assuredly relevant to the prophetic visions given in Ezekiel 38-39 as noted in the chosen title for this SITREP, and which, for the purpose of continuity, is essentially an update for the 2009/Update 2014 post The Prophetic Road to Revelation (Part IV): The War of Gog of Magog and the 2012 post Clues to the Timing of Ezekiel 38/39 and other Insights.  

 

Sweeping top to bottom change to the government of the Russian Federation came as the result of a stunning speech this past Wednesday (15JAN20) by its President Vladimir Putin to the Federal Assembly. In the speech Putin announced reforms that would change the very nature of Russia's governnance. Those changes resulted in the instantaneous resignation of the entire government The resignations were not in protest of the announced reforms, but in support of them and of Putin's objective agenda behind them. In the midst of this single day upheaval came word that an obscure apparatchik of the Russian tax service, Mikhail Mishushkin, was elevated to the office of Prime Minister. Mishushkin was elevated in leap-frog fashion above a total of thrity-two Deputy Prime Ministers and Ministers of the Government with nary a signle protest. Not so much as a peep. Tsar Valdimir has spoken. 

Or should it now be acknowledged, Gog of Magog the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, has spoken.

Global SITREP A4-19: Israel's Northern Front Offensive - Part II

Updated 7 February 2019: The importance Eschatology Today placed upon the OSINT reporting in yesterday's update on the S-300 battery going operational at Masyaf has been confirmed via a just updated report published this morning in Israel by i24News: "Operational Advancement of S-300 Mean a Dangerous Junction Ahead in Syria." As stated in the i24News assessment, the use of the S-300 against IAF aircraft striking Iranian military targets, which Israel will strike again as determined necessary, can easily pull the Syrian regime into full-scale war against Israel. We know this potential war as the fulfillment of Isaiah 17 and Jeremiah 49:23-27, and it could ignite, as noted previously, at any moment within the new few weeks. 

Question: Was the shoot down last September of the Russian IL-22 "Coot" ELINT aircraft over the Mediterranean Sea by wildly-firing Syrian air defense batteries a possible fulfillment of Jeremiah 49:23? Is the still impending battle of Idlib, where skirmishes all along the front lines are a near daily occurrence, the "bad news" Hama (Hamath) and Idlib (Arpad) are to hear? Make no mistake, these are the events which Jeremiah's prophecy declares as preceding the destruction of Damascus by an all-consuming fire. Keep watching brothers and sisters.

The second of two expect Iranian rocket launches (read: ICBM tests) has failed.
Sounds like the Lord's breaking of the Iranian bow is in-progress. The current plan is for US forces to be withdrawn from Syria by the end of April.

The US announced today that our military forces are prepared to protect US facilities and personnel in Venezuela if the need arises. Venezuela immediaely rolled out its Russian-made S-300VM air defense system. Massive amounts of life-saving humanitarian supplies (50 metric tons from the U.S. alone) are now building up at the border crossing of Cucuta, Colombia at the request of Interim President Guaido. Supporting Interim President Guaido is important as that will be the most expedient method of getting Hezbollah out of Venezuela. Mass defections of the Venezuelan military to the Guaido forces are increasing by the hour. Let's see what tomorrow brings.

6 February 2019: OSINT reports indicate that Iranian military entrenchment continues with large IRGC and Syrian government cargo aircraft flying continually in a Damascus-Tehran-Damascus circuit. These flights are monitored extensively by OSINT reporting as well as US/Israeli military aircraft as noted below.

The Syrian S-300 battery that arrived from Russia and deployed to Masyaf northwest of Damascus in October 2018 is nearing an operational capability according to satellite imagery acquired by the Israeli company ImageSat International (ISI). The latest ISI image (Times of Israel clickable image below) released yesterday reveals that three out of the four missile canisters of this battery are now standing upright in pre-launch position. The 4th canister tube launcher remains covered by camouflage netting.

In other OSINT news, the U.S. Army has purchased for immediate use an upgraded version of Israel's Rafael/IAI-built Iron Dome Air Defense System. The new block variant has an increased range of intercept from 45 miles to 155 miles. Testing of the upgraded system was done in the United States. Cost: $400 million. For immediate deployment and potential use against Iranian tactical missiles.

There is an increased yet secretive Russian transfer of armored vehicles, howitzers, ammunition and supplies into the Russian-occupied Donbas region of southern Ukraine. 

4 February 2019: OSINT this morning is reporting several US and Israeli intelligence collection aircraft are active over the eastern Mediterranean Sea opposite the Lebanese and Syrian coastlines. The intel collector aircraft involved are two USAF RC-135 Rivet Joint and two IAF G550 SIGINT Nachshon Shavit. There is also IAF activity over Mt. Hermon and a pair of RAF (UK) Tornado GR4 aircraft out of Cyprus.. Inbound large cargo aircraft from Tehran to Damascus are the object of the ongoing intelligence collection. Action of this type has been known in recent time to precede IAF strikes in southern Syria. We'll soon see if the bellicose threats from Tehran and Damascus have been a bluff or not.

A day ago CJTF-OIR aircraft attacked and destroyed a Syrian Army artillery piece and wounded two soldiers in the region just west of Abu Kamal. The artillery piece was identified as firing upon CJTF-OIR ground forces.

Russia recently completed the contruction of 18 hardend shelters for its strike aircraft based at Khmeimim Air Base. The Russians are not planning any soon withdrawal of their forces from Syria; they have a 50-year deal with the Syrian government.

29 January 2019: All indications are that Israel's airborne offensive targeting Iranian bases and supply depots in Syria have caused extensive and severe damage to the three primary enemies, Iran, Syria and Hezbollah, and their warfighting infrastructure. If the rhetoric coming from these three enemies in just the past week is to be believed, and there's no reason not to believe them, then the flood of prophetic pre-70th Week fulfillment discussed on Eschatology Today for the past several years may well be just a matter of a few weeks away, if not sooner.

Of interest is the news that Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah has emerged from a period of virtual invisibility which led to rampant rumors of his death or medical incapacitation. Nasrallah's re-appearance was perhaps forced by the overwhelming success Israel has achieved in its two most recent strikes on Iranian bases in around Damascus, Syria; the preemptive destruction of war materiel destined for delivery to Hezbollah, as well as the destruction of strategic tunnels (Operation Northern Shield) which had been of critical import to their war plans for the coming hostilities. With a matter of just six weeks Israel significantly has altered the battlefield to its great tactical and strategic advantage.

Why is this kind of detail important? It may not be to many readers, but it is to Eschatology Today as it is a real-time record and historical account of the prophetic events that are upon this world.

As stated previously on this blog, the prophetic pre-70th Week wars will come to pass as a flood comes to the unsuspecting village in the valley below. The vast majority of the world today is not concerned with the Lord's prophetic word; this world denies His word and ridicules those who profess it. Think back to the days of early 70 AD as several Roman legions began to invade the land. The Roman legions marched their conquering way in battle after battle, skirmish after skirmish towards Jerusalem, eventually surrounding and laying a siege to the city and its Holy Mount which the Lord's presence had departed at the crucifixion of Jesus Messiah. Is there any written account of that day circa 33 AD in which the writer exclaimed the literal fulfillment of Daniel 9:26? Is there any citing the passing of thirty-seven years between the first two lines of that verse? No, there isn't. The closest writings are the Gospels and the Book of Acts which were written decades after-the-fact. 

So it is today with the majority of those alive on planet earth in utter disbelief of the ongoing process of eschatological fulfillment. There are even those calling themselves 'Christians' who profess denial of these facts known to us and which are progressing forward on a daily basis, just as the Roman legions progressed upon Jerusalem two-thousand years ago. Echatology Today is currently proclaiming that we are nearing the culmination of time in the coming flood of fulfillment. The time remaining is so very, very short. And in a still unknown nanosecond we shall be taken. Hopefully the Lord will allow this and other blogs to remain for the benfit of those to be redeemed during the 70th Week. 

"The end of it shall be with a flood,
And till the end of the war desolations are determined."

Russia's role in these coming events is on everyone's mind these days. Some believe that Ezekiel 38/39 will be launched from Syria. Eschatology Today has never accepted this faulty theory, and will offer some recent OSINT in support of this position. 

But first, there is a Biblical reason why Gog of Magog will not launch his attempt to conquer and loot Israel from Syria, and it is found in Isaiah 17:1-3. This passage of Scripture directly links the ruination of Damascus, the abandonment of human habitation of the "cities of Aroer," with the end of the miv·tsär' (hold, fenced-in, fortress) of Ephraim (so-called 'Palestinian territory" of the northern West Bank/Judea and Samaria), the kingdom (sovereign government) in Damascus and the remnant of `Aram (Syria). The exsum exegesis of this, as we've discussed previously, is that Syria as we know it today will have ceased to exist. Put another way, Russia's military forces in Syria are, by hook or by crook, going back to Russia prior to Ezekiel 38/39. Additionally, Russian forces in Syria at present are by no means even close to being adequate to fulfill what is prophesied in Ezekiel 38/39.

Now for the real-world OSINT. Russia is in deep, deep economic trouble. This is on the surface a real-world high-probability cause for Gog of Magog to one day soon seek the conquest and looting of the coming 'greater Israel.' Russia has been spending huge sums of currency on modernizing its own military hardware, its military ongoing adventurism, plus the military hardware of Bashar al-Assad in Syria (and elsewhere, like Venezuela) and for which it has not been paid-in-full. But this is all a veneer beneath which lies a Russian economy in an utterly pitiful state. Few in the Russian population believe their current leader can solve Russian problems at home. There are tens of millions of Russians living daily in horrible conditions while the ruling elite of the country bask in luxury. Russia, it could be said, it a Venezuela waiting to happen.

In exsum, Russia today is in many cases in economic worse shape than it was when the Soviet Union collapsed, and no one in Russia has any idea how to put this humpty-dumpty back together again. Eschatology Today believes that Russia, one way or another, will withdraw its meager forces out of Syria and then God will take over to complete the impending collapse as we see in the Ezekiel 38/39 prophecy.

Global SITREP C5-17: Making Sense of Current Events

4 June 2017: We, as the body of Christ on this earth, either believe God is in complete and total control, that His will is being done through the various birth pangs heralding the establishment of Christ's Millennial Kingdom - or we don't. There is no half-measure here, no room to be lukewarm, and no excuse to misunderstand current events when it all lies before us in the Lord's inerrant prophetic word.

Some of us are upset because President Trump did not announce his promised move of the United States Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, Israel when they expected it during his recent trip to the Middle East. One of us even stated that Trump is "chicken" to effect the embassy move; that Trump covered it up by using Globalist media via his announced withdrawal of the United States from Obama's Paris Global Climate Accord. 

Unfortunately, and to be very frank about such opinions, this view is not only well shortsighted of the mark, but it also evidences a very critical and crucial misunderstanding of current events in light of Bible prophecy. Bible prophecy does not comport with what we human beings want to see happen, it comports with the omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent will of Almighty God. Period.

To make sense of these recent events one needs to understand President Trump and the Order Of Battle (OOB) his Administration is following in its continuing war against the Globalist machine. The Globalist machine is the precursor of the coming Beast Empire of the Antichrist. Refresh your memory with a review of July 2016's Global SITREP B10-16. 

Now, being refreshed and mindful of the fact that the November election was just an electoral victory, a single battle won, over the Globalist candidate (Hillary Clinton) look closer at the ongoing big picture. That big picture reveals that a real war against the Globalist machine has been engaged ever since the election was decided. This war, as all earthly wars do, has both secular and Spiritual attributes, and the great battles on both planes of existence still lie directly ahead in the passage of time as we understand and experience it. 

The LORD God prophetically declared there will be war in Heaven, when the archangel Michael and his angels will prevail over Satan and his fallen host and throw them down to the earth. This is an event which I believe will occur around the mid-point of the 70th Week. Eschatology Today readers are well versed in this due to the continuing discourse on the Great Sign of Revelation 12. If you've only read as far as Revelation 12:1-6, then continue on and read Revelation 12:7-12.

So too the ongoing war against the Globalists will turn south around a corner in the future. But that's a future the bride of Christ will not be here to witness, and what we need to understand here and now is the Trump Administration's Order Of Battle against the Globalists. 

What is the Trump Administration's OOB? Well, he's told the world repeatedly what they are and has, as of this date, already initiated several of them. In order they are: saying goodbye to the TTP, win the war against Islamism, move the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem, Keystone XL, Judicial Appointments, replace Obamacare, end IRS and VA malfeasance, Tax Reform, rebuild America's infrastructure, and pull America out of the Global Warming charade. All of these specific orders of battle are against what the Globalists want to achieve. Each is a battle in its own right, many are inter-related or inter-dependent.

Look at the list above again. See what follows winning the fight against Islamism (both Sunni and Shi'a variants of jihad)? Yes, the fight to defeat Islamism has a priority position, and President Trump so stated this before the Sunni Muslim leaders in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This means creating the coalition I have recently begun referring to as The Ezekiel Summit. Refresh your memory here also if necessary. 

This specific, and second most important Order Of Battle requires two objectives be achieved: the defeat of the Islamic State and the reduction of the Islamic Republic of Iran and its agenda for a pan-Shi'a crescent of power from Tehran to Beirut. In order to achieve both of these a (where have you heard this before?) "Coalition of Nations" both Sunni Muslim and Western allies (think: "Ten Toes") is an indispensable necessity. Iron and miry clay, they work as allies, but do not cleave to one another. 

Those "Ten Toes" of Daniel 2 are, as some of you understand, "The Ezekiel Summit" manifest in the real-world we live in. These two objectives will result in the literal fulfillment of Isaiah 17 as well as Jeremiah 49:23-27 and 34-39. These fulfillment's are stage-setting for the final fulfillment of Psalm 83, Isaiah 11:12-14 and Ezekiel 28:24-26, and, ultimately, Ezekiel 38-39. These are the 'flood of prophetic fulfillment' I have discussed time and again which shall set the conditions that will exist in the very near future arrival and final fulfillment of the angel Gabriel's 70th Week prophecy to Daniel (Daniel 9:24-27).

Moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem will occur upon its Divinely appointed time. That is the time God decides, not any American President or his administration. In the future, as we surely all must be aware of by now, all nations shall move their national representation to Jerusalem.

Global SITREP D2:16: Caucasus (Kavkaz) 2016 Begins

5 September 2016: We might as well consider this SITREP as a follow-on to Global SITREP C10-16: Ezekiel 38/39 Primary Invasion Routes. 

Today the Russian Federation began its 'Caucasus 16' warfighting exercise. 'Caucasus 16, also known as "Kavkaz 2016," involves combat aircraft, naval combatant ships, armored units, infantry and airborne paratroopers operating in the entirety of the Southern Russia Military District (see image below), Crimea and the Black and Caspian Seas. 

The Ukrainian government last month warned about this exercise in terms of it being a pretext for Russian military aggression against the Ukraine, possibly to create a land-bridge between Russia and Moldova and its separatist Trans-Dniester region through the province (oblast) Odessa, Ukraine just north of the Crimean Peninsula.

The above map can be accessed at the IISS Military Balance Blog. It dates to March 2014 but is extremely useful in concert with the premise of SITREP C10-16 linked above, which hold that the Ezekiel 38/39 invasion will originate from this same area. The below map is from the Australian Government, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. It shows the position of landlocked Moldova which is virtually trapped between western Ukraine and NATO ally Romania.
